[Q] How do default my radio to LTE only? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I use GV exclusively for my talk and text, I don't need their voice radio anymore, and the only calls I get to that number are spam...so just disabling it sounds just great to me....but setting tghe radio to LTE only manually every boot is a pain in the butt to remember. So here's what I'm looking for....I'm hoping there is a way to set this up easily....possibly a build.prop entry? similar to this one, but another network number??
ro.telephony.default_network=10
I've tried but I can't find one that defines LTE only. Can anyone please help?

I got it...build.prop editing wasn't enough for some reason. I had to do some database editing on the settings storage for it to work. For reference, here's what I did:
download sql lite app from the play store here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor
open settings storage > global

}
find the line:
preferred_network_mode
change the value to 11
reboot
open your stock phone dialer and enter the following or open phone testing menu another way.
*#*#4636#*#*
verify under phone testing LTE only is selected.
this is now your default setting. you can change it back manually if you need to and a reboot will default back to LTE only.
THIS WILL DISABLE YOUR VOICE SERVICE THROUGH YOUR CARRIER!!! THIS INCLUDES 911 AND OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICES....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
VoIP and VoLTE will still work!!! You just won't be able to make or receive calls through your sim card's registered number.

or, you could have just dialed *#*#4636#*#* and set it to lte only, which would do the exact same thing. and instead of dialing, there are apps that bring up that menu as well. btw, no voice on lte because our radios are not capable of it, even if our networks supported it.

yup...but the point is it resets when I reboot. This sets it to LTE only and keeps it there
and no voice was literally the entire point of doing this. I use VoIP exclusively and the only time my Tmo number rings is for spam...no joke I get at least a half dozen spam calls every day and not one other call.

Release notes
Power saving mode (”Turn off screen” menu option). When you select this option device screen turns off, while Loudtalks keeps running so you can receive messages and respond to them using central navigation key.
Vibrate option (if supported by device). It’s turned on by default so when you set your status to Away or Busy your device will vibrate on new messages. You can turn it off in Settings.
Report a problem… menu option. If something doesn’t work you can send us a report right from the software.
(Hint: even if everything works please use it to send your feedback or suggestions!)
Activate contact list, when switching to Loudtalks from other applications. Now you can use push-to-talk without tapping contact list first.
Automatically select the contact, when new conversation starts. That way when you hear “New conversation” alert, even if your screen is turned off, you can respond immediately by simply pressing PTT hardware button.
The website Loudtalks.com will automatically detect Windows Mobile device browser and display a mobile-optimized page so the easiest way to get the new Loudtalks is to visit Loudtalks.com on your device

Yea it will it's an OTA app it's not as responsive as say Nextel but works pretty good. only problem is if you leave it runnign it eats your battery because it keeps the data connection open while its on.

PS you english is not that bad.
thanks
but with diamond can not make it , this app would be awesome if could be minimized and the battery issue cause the conecction always activate.
thanks great program
My first post, new user to Windows Mobile 6.1 have a HTC Touch Pro on Sprint. I like the idea of 2-way, as I am a former Nextel customer, and used to sell 2-way public safety radios.
Will there be plans to create an app for non-Window devices? We have a Samsung Rant in the family as well as we are Mac users. Be great to see this grow into a decent wired/wireless arena. Lot of nice possibilities.
Thanks
Dave
Hi Belsj,
I was wondering if there's a maximum range it covers since it's a walkie talkie application but it uses the internet e.g. wifi, 3g etc so I'm assuming it can connect to anyone?
Can you please confirm?
Range is WORLDWIDE.. and if there is a internetconnection in the ISS spaceconsole, then it's even "space"wide
LoudTalks
Just got Loud Talks works absolutely awesome all work computers and 6.5 phones work

So just to verify, there is no cost involved in using "spoofapp" Right?
I use a spoof calling card (spoofcard.com). It's a great tool, but I'd love to have an app on my phone (it's inconvenient calling an 800#, entering my calling card number, entering my destination number, entering my desired caller id number, etc....). Do you know if I can enter my card details on this app, or do I have to buy their service?
EDIT: haha, awesome, it works with the spoofcard!

bluffmycall working
ok people it is up and running, at least on tmobile tp2 with stocked rom. it allows u to make a free two min. calls to any phone number and allows you to put a fake number on the caller id, home or land line will show the name too.
the program is on my sd card. the app itself isn't flashy, it is just a plain white screen, with places to put the numbers. the only problem is it say that the free version doesn't not allow recording or voice change which kinda sucks. but this one is free. spoof app allow voice changeing and recording, but cost $5 for 25credits. but when you sign up you get 6 free credits, then after those are going if you want to use it you must by credits
when I try it it says it is placing the call and to press ok if it's correct and cancel if it's wrong. Regardless of what I press it just goes back to the 'make call' screen.
for which one are you talking about? spoof app or bluff my calls?
i tried the bluff.cab program but its telling me that i must insert a calling code (011) or + or something similar to that...is there an easier way to use this or can someone help me figure out how to use this...thanks in advance

Toggle Vally

I was searching for a Thread, that has all the toggles posted at one spot, so I am starting this Thread.
Here You can Post all the toggles requests and as well the actual file/links.
Thanks
My First Request: Anyone has a toggle to turn the caller's ID on/off, or be able to assign it to a number key on a dial pad? e.g. Long Press 8 and your caller ID for your next call is blocked, or Press 8 again or an other key to have your caller ID shown.
There are times that you want to keep your caller ID hidden, for whatever reason, but for the next call you want to show it. However it takes for ever to go to menu from the dial pad to options>Services>Caller ID hit the get settings, and select Provide my caller ID to Everyone, No One or Only to contacts.
I was thinking if there was a toggle, that would be nice, I mean about five or six years ago, I had this small seaman phone, which had this option.
My 2nd Request. A phone card toggle, I used to have this sonyerickson, the first PDA type of phone. Where if supposed I needed to make an international call, I would buy a normal phone card, and input the 1800 number, and the PIN code, and when I wanted to make an international call, by selecting that area code which I had pre-stored in that application, It would use my phone card's minute hence not charging my phone for international calls, I stilled used my minute but that was only for that 1800 call number.
Here were the advantages of that system:
1. It didn't use my phone plan to call international, and only used my calling card for the international calls.
2. I didn't have to dial the PIN code each time I wanted to make an international call, imagine doing that while driving. Hence made my life more easy, and more safe.
3. I didn't have to memorize all that many numbers, once I bought the card I would input the 1800 number, and the PIN, and that it, all I just had to worry is dialing a regular phone number.
Anything like this for the window mobile?
My phone:
HTC TouchPro2-Tmobile
Window 6.5
SPB SHELL 3.5

New provider, strange new icon on top

Hi all!
I wanted to enjoy everything that my HD2 has to offer so today I made the switch to a provider, which offers me 1GB free traffic/month.
Great and all.. but, since I made that switch, a "1" is appearing on top, next to the connection status icons (on windows mobile).
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my connection, because as soon as I toggle off "phone" at the wireless controls, it's gone.
Can anyone explain me what it actually means? And maybe, how I can get rid of it?
Thanks in advance
Pyr0wl
I think when the "1" is present, that means that your Line 1 is active. Same goes for other active Lines.
Atleast, with iWireless, that's the situation.
[iWireless also allows a Data Connection whilst on the phone too, so I'm assuming AT&T phones also have the "1".]
Okay, with the info you provided, i went off to scour the internet, and I found some information.
It seems indeed, that the number on top, indicates which line I'm using And, if i press the "#" on my keypad, I can switch from line 1 to line 2. This is called, alternative line service. All it does, is mapping two different phone numbers to your SIM card.
Now i'm just looking for a way to disable this, because, i don't have a second telephone number mapped to my SIM
So I was HALF way right. Pretty good guess.
I'll do some research and see if it's possible to disable the "Secondary" Line, though, I think it may be a SIM Function, not device... as you did say in your first post that you switched carriers... which means a new SIM.
As most people know, tampering with the SIM Card (Excluding your Contacts & Web Settings) can be a bad idea...

right on bro thanks for all you have and are doing
Did some research, and found out that it CAN be disabled but you have to speak to your provider about it.
The actual Service Name is called 2-in-1 Sim Service. See HERE for more info. Though that article is quite old, it seems many providers now support 2-in-1 Sim Service for Business customers that wish to have a Business Number AND a Personal Number all on one device.
I called my provider and asked about this service, and they said it is, in fact an optional service, but it's pre-configured on the SIM Card. At the moment, my provider only has one style of SIM.. so I can't remove my Secondary Line availability.
I recommend talking to your provider about the service to see if you can disable it.
Hope this helps m8.

Space Between Phone Number

When I receive a call, the phone number in Call History is in format +1 514-XXX-XXXX(Space between 1 and 514) so when I call back the carrier block the call. I have to the write down the number and manually type the number by taking out space and dash to make a call go through. It's so annoying to do this every time. Even if I save the number by taking out space, it still there. Any solution to fix this? Can I replace default Dialer and Contacts App.

That’s Normal and how it’s supposed to show up, on income calls for both T-Mobile and AT&T anyway for me. And never have any issue calling it back. Spaces shouldn’t have anything to do with calling it back. Now sometimes having that 1 there might throw off the Carrier. But the spaces won’t do anything.

I don’t see any issue with having spaces as spaces wouldn’t have an effect on it. What message are you getting?
The spaces are Normal

It says "This call is blocked". When I input the number manually without space, it works. I insert the sim card into another phone which format has no space (+1514XXXXXXX) and it works, which mean the space is the problem. Do you know how to replace default dailer? Just to try and see if it works with new dialer.

You can try looking In the play store. Make sure you don’t have any international dialer helpers enabled.
