So after a quick look at sammobile.com I'm really confused.
In the past 4-5 month there have been several releases of firmwares for our note 10.1 2014 p600:
-3 firmwares for Trinidad and Tobago
-3 releases for Chile
-2 for Hong Kong, Peru, Taiwan, Uruguay
-1 for Mexico and 1 for Spain.
I really don't get it why Samsung is fine tuning the os for those countries while there haven't been a KitKat release in others. Yes I know it's no problem to install a firmware from another country or a custom Rom based on KitKat (that's what I'm using since half a year) but I just don't get it. Did they sell a lot more tablets in those countries? Are they "testing" it there? Do they just roll a dice? Where is the logic behind this, it makes absolutely no sense to me.
I'm really happy with my tablet and it's running great with xKat custom Rom but this is really bugging me and the tablet isn't even on the market for a full year!
Any insight is appreciated.
Simple answer ... Samsung have flooded the market like crazy, they have released about 20+ tablets alone since our Note 2014 was released and now they simply can't keep up.
It is a really great device but Samsung are loosing the plot a little.
No offence to anyone from Trinidad and Tobago but seriously!! Yet still no KitKat in UK apart from the chocolate bars.
Germany here. Seems like it's getting closer. Today I saw a Switzerland release on Sammobile. I think it's the first 4.4 release for Switzerland which fills me with hope, that Germany is not abandoned as well.
I really hate Samsung for letting me wait this long. On the other hand there is not much choice if a stylus is what you need. I'm also going to buy a Note 4 in a view weeks and I already know that I'll hate Samsung even more after I'll have it.

Haha why torture yourself with Samsung again but yeah your right ... when it comes to a stylus tablet or phone cant compete with Samsung at the minute.
My hope is that by the time I upgrade (maybe in 2-3 years time) there will be another Stylus tablet out.

yes that would make sense... i got my phone on ebay and its from malayasia. so we need to wait for the singapore firmware to come online..
wow what the heck, i have a singapore version eventhough im in america? it would make more sense if i had the UK version.
depends where it came from originally. whoever you got it from might of imported it. a lot of tech stuff comes from malayasia first. it was out there months before the UK. its why i got mine from ebay.. i would of thought theres a lot of singapore X2s out there.

good point! maybe we moan more in the UK than in malayasia lol. i suspect its just some localisation differences and the update went up on friday so hopefully theyll finish off the rest on monday...
For those of you who, like myself, have the polish PLUS model of the note and have been frustrated at the lack of updates compared to all the other regions.
Just found a new update OTA, its 105mb.
will let you guys know which update it is when my update is finished in a few minutes.

yeah, some of the first batch of notes sold online were the polish plus carrier locked model. i bought mine online here in australia and it ended up being the polish model, we've been slow to get updates. our last update was KKA.
just completed the update.
we are now on.

ahh yeah, I think I got lucky, my wife bought mine for me in November and I got the Debtel German model... so while I too am in Australia I've been getting pretty regular updates...
besides i get polish Orange carrier (non branded) Note and its still on kka officially ;p thanks god for odin
It's also sad what happened here a few weeks ago. Samsung spent a lot of money to promote the Galaxy Note, renaming the main subway station with "Sol Galaxy Note" and putting there people all day showing it. The problem is that they had only 3 units and all running KKA firmware. I pointed out that to the people there and they did not seem to even have an idea of what a ROM is.
If they want to show the device, load it with the best firmware available and up to date programs, not just the demo video.
Hey guys, to anyone who might be in Switzerland.
I've had the Note 10.1 N8010 since it got released here in Switzerland and since then there was just 1 Samsung fix update and so far, since last July or August there has been No updates at all for my device, not even the Exfat fix update which pretty much left me with no sd card support..
I'm just wondering for owners of this device in Switzerland, did you guys get any updates?
What firmware are you on?

heh im glad im not the only one.. i mean, even on sammobile it shows that there hasnt been any updates for Switzerland since July 2012, but i still thought there was a problem with my device :silly: guess there isnt..
Just checked sammobile again and even Greece and China has the damn update heheh
Kinda weird that all the surrounding EU countries have it but Switzerland in the center of them all still has nothing..

I've bought the 8010 in december and it already included the exfat fix (I could insert the 64GB sandisk and everything worked fine).
Anyway, I did what I always do: I switched to a custom rom.
Switzerland was never very promising with software update speed, sadly
Yea.. To be honest it sucks..
I don't want to put anything custom, want to leave the stock rom..
I might just have to update to the UK or German versions.. Im just not too happy about the CSC number change.. Im not sure if I can still get future updates or not..
Kinda weird only the three of us have replied in this thread.. Makes me wonder how many they've sold here heheh

i have just ordered a note3 but when i watched the videos of the phone booting up it says SM-N9000Q. I checked the sammobile but there is no firmware or no model like that. Is this only for Turkey like Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 N8005?
In the other hand is this a bad or good thing to have N9000Q?
Does anyone know something about this model? what is the differences from N900?

it depends... first of all what do you expect? n9000q has a sticker on the box stating it is aimed to use in several European countries but as far as we read it seems like they sell it only at Turkey. so probably this means we will get updates later then other models and probably they will stop updating device while others got their updates. we have n8005 and n7000 as an example (n8005 fits this situation more and i don't have n7100 so don't know what is going on about it).
i wish samsung will correct this in note 3 but this is just a wish and if they don't.... for most this will not be a problem because they will never know if there is an update that their model haven't received and for some it again will not be a problem because they will root and install custom roms. others will have to live with it or sell the phone early then they planned to.

S5 plus is worth waiting... i would spend a fortune for it but its not available here
Better CPU, and better LTE .. Don't think that's a lot to wait for though?

I would wait for the S6 by now. If you are a rooter you might wait for ever for proper tools. That happened to me with S4 4G version

Hi. S6, Note4, Z3....all are maybe better....but also a bit greater. I have big hands but 5.1 or 5.2 i for me not easy to handle with hand.

I got it via Marktplaats (should ring a bell for you)
Rooted it, put CWM on it
Mine came with some T Mobile rom, I downloaded a Vodafone NL rom for it, flashed it with Odin, and that didn't have any branding
I did however remove some bloat apps, and even if you can't uninstall them you can still hide them
