Zerolemon extended battery for Note 4 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So for those who have used the zerolemon, you know once you use it, you can't go back to stock batteries!
Was curious as to when the note 4 version will be released so I sent zerolemon a Facebook message and got this response today
"Hi, we are currently working to release a battery/case for the Note 4 in mid October. Keep checking the page for updates!"
Which is awesome news because I personally was not gonna get a note 4 unless it had the zerolemon. . Seems like it'll be coming out. Soon!
Wonder if they'll keep it at 10,000 mah or make it a bit bigger?

I would like to know too because I used a ZeroLemon battery with my Note 2. I hope they can do one for the Note Edge also.

Sounds great! I don't have a Facebook account. Do you think you can ask them if they plan to make an Extended Battery & Rugged Case for the Galaxy Note Edge as well ?

If I didn't mention it, but someone else asked about the Note Edge and Zerolemon's reply was, there is no plans at this time. I'm guessing the curved right side of phone with the notifications will make it hard to make a case for it

Ugh, I was afraid of that. I really wanted an Edge but without a Zerolemon it's a deal breaker. I'll have to stick with the generic Note 4.

Good News
The Sounds like Great.

they just released a 10mah batt for the note 4, i would post a link but im unable to because i dont meet the 10 post or more on the forums. search it on amazon the pre orders went up today!

Just pre-ordered mine(10,000 mAh)....with the battery life on the stock battery, this one will probably last a week...lol

I want the best of both worlds -- anyone know of a Qi wireless charging receiver that will fit / adapt to go around the battery?

That would have to be discovered once they start shipping the batteries. There are adapters that fit under a stock battery cover(eBay ). But the Zerolemon is a lot of battery...not sure the wireless would charge it effectively.....I always use a 2 amp charger on my other phones with Zerolemon batteries. I was able to do a workaround and get NFC on my Note 2 with my Zerolemon battery...perhaps something similar could be done for wireless charging on the Note 4 (The Zerolemon battery for Note 4 has NFC). Look for a thread about NFC and Zerolemon on Note 2 to see what might be needed. I believe there are three or four contacts on the Note 4 that have to be used on the Note 4 for wireless charging.

I'm going to wait for MPJ battery to come out with one for the Note 4, the Note 3 has a 8500 mAh with the option for NFC for $2.99 more. The 8500 mAh size seems a bit more manageable for me.

Wow, what do you do with your phone that you need that much battery life? Because that case makes the phone look ridiculous.

Amazon shipped....
Well...got my email from Amazon....it has been shipped. I will see what this beast of a battery and case looks like in person soon...lol.

maaaaan, this device looks like a brick with zerolemon

Always had one and still do on my Note 2....so I am used to and kind of like the feel of the phone with the big battery. To me the Note 4 feels a little "fragile" without it...lol.

Well....received the Zerolemon battery and case yesterday. Overall feels bigger than my Note 2 with the battery (different case style). Charged it up overnight. I have been going since 5:30 this morning...battery still shows 94%. Many will not like this battery and case combo...it makes the phone over twice as thick. But the case does look pretty good and fits well. All the pictures I have seen of it....look distorted..it does look better in person and I like the feel of a heavier phone.

Ah the ZL is back. Had one on my Note 2 and kinda liked it although it certainly added heft!
Question about the case: does it have any 'soft' spots? I recall the Note 2 case was a touch spongy in places where the battery wasn't due to space between the case and the phone. How about this rugged case style?
Personally I've gone for second battery and external charger for 210 CNY (~US$32) this time round which gets me two to for days depending on usage.
Gotta love the ZL though.
Sent from my HTC One dual sim

As with the Note 2 their is no "extended cover". The case is the battery back. There is a hard plastic frame that snaps around the backless phone body. The battery looks like a stock Note 4 battery with two Note 2 batteries stacked side by side on top of it. Their is a "sound channel" over the back speaker that directs the sound to vent on bottom edge of case. The battery goes in from behind in the open spot in the snap on frame. Then the "rubber bump case" snaps on the hard frame. The only "soft" spots on the case are at the flip-up access ports for the stylus, charge port and headphone jack.
*******Right now I at 62% battery after 24hrs 39mins / with 8hrs 15 min Screen on time...not bad.*******

I always have this in my bag with me when i know my phone is going to need a recharge:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/au/products/xp4001/
better than a bulky phone
I've had this...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0H4VE9S6N61AVK449HTZ
I prefer either an external USB battery or just carry a spare battery (when its available) depend on what I'm doing and where I'm going.
The good thing is that with the 'full' back the Note won't be ugly as death:
i.e. it'll be like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mks7ubUi6Ik
That's very chunky though. I'd rather just keep an extra battery on me.
I used to keep one in the car and/or my wallet, if I was running low.
- Frank
the only saving grace from how big the Note is is how slim it is... take that away and it'll feel massive in your jeans.
but i do love extended batteries

It looks like a BRICK...
I would prefer to just purchase an additional 2500 mAh battery or two and keep them with me rather than use something which will just add bulk to the device. The Galaxy Note gets great battery life as it is without a larger extended battery.
I too would rather have a spare battery ready than have a bulkier battery. If there was a higher capacity battery that was the same size (like there is for the Nexus One) then I would buy that but I would niot want to increase the thickness of the phone with a thicker battery.

Hi All, i just bought Galaxy Note two days ago. it's bad of battery. i use GNote only in 4 hours then battery is empty. Any one have suggestion (tweaks) to improve GNote life time.
For extra battery, i use ZAGGsparq 2.0 Battery Charger (both for ipad/iphone/galaxynote)

4 hours? From full charge? That's not impossible of course, but for normal/light heavy usage is not normal at all.

Reason using only 4h is romkj4 not yet rooted, background apps is a lot. Light screen minimum, off gps, off gsm, on only wifi. But during 4h i'm factory reset note 3 times. Download, install and uninstall a lot apps. View HD video clips around 10 minutes. Thats all.

The only thing I know of that could drain this thing in 4 hours is watching streaming video. I know mine will burn 15% battery in about 20 min.
i would find a 5000 mah model....... or just a samsung ORIGINAL battery at 3000mah.. with just 1mm more.........
like the galaxy s2.... with original 2000mah battery that DOES NOT CHANGE the real thickness of the phone( just add 1 or 2 mm if i remember correctrly).
so a 3000 mah ....with just 1mm more IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION

I didn't know they released the 2000mah battery. I would have paid a small fortune for that if it fit in the standard protective cases. Ya, 3000mah or a little more for the Note would be great.
I get just over 2 days with average use, good enough, I'm happy and see no need for a larger battery...

Really depends on how big and heavy you want your phone to be, but if you don't care, the 7,500mah Zero Lemon is the biggest one there is. XDA isn't letting me post the link, but just search amazon for Zero Lemon S4, it's $40US.

I've yet to find one that doesn't require a new case and is worth getting. The only I know of gives you a whopping 6% increase in battery life. It would appear Samsung has already squeezed the most they can out of the battery with it's current size.
There are other batteries that won't add quit as much bulk though. s4tips .com/reviews/best-extended-batteries-for-samsung-galaxy-s4/ has a list of good ones. (I still can't post links so take the space out before .com)
UPDATE 1 -
Got the batteries yesterday - 2 3000mah and a charger. Charger worked well and the 2nd one is charging now.
Stock weighs 1.5 oz while the Zero-lemon ones weighed 1.6 oz.
I DID have to take off the white label surrounding the new battery for it to fit into the slot of the phone.
It is snug, but it fits correctly, but ONLY after taking off the wrap-around label.
I put the back on and it clicked in correctly and seems okay.
I have a aftermarket slimline case that still fits on it properly also - no issues between it and the battery.
Ill monitor battery life the next few days and see what I get. I usually get about 15 hours a day, with about
2-3 hours of screen time.
If anything, I have 2 extra batteries and a good plug in charger, all for $20.00, so Im happy so far.
Ed
Hey
Yesterday I ordered off Amazon (2) of the zerolemon with the quickcharger. they were the 3000mah ones.
Reviews said they gave about 2 more hours worth of screen time. Said they are NOT NFC, and used that
space to add to the battery. Either way, said it will work with stock back. They were $20 shipped.
Should be here next day or two, so Ill let you know my results.

Yes, day 1 they release the battery I will buy it.
the note 2 one was amazing for travels.
did it still fit in your pocket? that thing is HUGE like OG Xbox
Well, since note 2 had 3100mah battery and zl basically was just three of those making it 9300mah, I can see them doing the same thing here and making a 9600mah battery maybe even possibly a 10kmah!
Im still waiting on them to release the rugged case for their zl battery for note 2...
Sent from my note 2 ya bish!
Yes I can see myself buying one. I like to do back country camping and it would be nice to have music that lasts for 2-3 days. Although I could just run 3 separate batteries I wouldn't mind having it all in one.
I'm hoping they get cracking. But now it is time for me to give up on the rugged case. This note 2 zl case is going to get all gussied up by a nice lady in the UK, the phone is to become my wife's and my new note 3 will be patiently waiting for a REAL battery. Imho, big cards and big batteries remove over 80% of the reasons I used to flash and root. No need. The note line has been all I've needed since the first one came out. My wife loves them too.
So I saw on Facebook that they are working on a 10000 mAh battery

How would this be better than a external battery pack?
It would be hard to pocket carry, and it looks like this is a back packable option only.
Plus the battery cover would be stock instead of a rubber back that doesn't fit properly.
Curious to the reasoning, I am looking up external 10000 MAH packs myself.

Note 2 owner willing to upgrade to Edge

Hello everyone .
I am currently a Note 2 owner and I skipped upgrading to note 3 as it did not seem such a big upgrade to me plus all the goods <software> was brought to me by the devs of the Eteam . Was willing to upgrade to Note 4 but then Edge came along and now thinking of getting one of these frontier devices.
The problem that I see from the forum is the battery life in this device , I can consider myself a power user and I do get in average of 4 to 5 hours of screen time on the 2 year old Note 2, anyone coming from Note 2 can shed some light regarding this issue as I am so used to have more than just 4 hours of screen time and that is a compromise I am not willing to make since I consider this am upgrade , is Edge worth or better get a Note 4 ?
Thank you in advance.

Here's the thing, note edge/note 4 has double the screen resolution as your note 2, and the edge has a battery 100mah less than the n2. Granted the processor can give you plenty of standby time, but screen on time won't be as good as you currently have it. You can always carry a spare battery, since it's a Samsung.

I thought the new screens are more power efficient <25 %> compare to the 2 year old tech on the Note 2.
So with a Note 4 would be also the same issue you say ?
Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk 2
I had the Note 2 and it was not exactly a stellar performer in SOT from what I recall. You won't notice much difference going to the Note4 or Edge in that regard. Maybe a slight improvement. But the screen quality and performance will more than make up for it. Plus the new fast-charging capabilities are pretty effective.

You can get the Ultra power saver mode too in custom roms but I am asking in identical conditions, which of the 2 has longer screen time , it makes no sense to me to use a 1000 usd device in black and white just bcs of the battery .

You can't compare the note 2 and note 4 or Edge as apples to apples. The processor alone on the Note 4 is more efficient. And if you get the T-Mobile variant you'll get root and can do greater control of things that eat battery.
But even the stock versions allow you to at least disable most of the bloat or apps you won't use thereby stretching the battery life out.
I have both the note 4 and note edge and get at least a full day on them. I consider myself an average user doing primarily email, music, web and some gaming (temple run 2 is my addiction) and I get at least 4 hours of screen time with about 25-30% battery left by the time I go to bed.
I picked up the Edge after having a Note 2 from release. I see a massive battery life difference for the better. I had replaced the battery in my Note 2 twice, and in it's prime with Ditto Note flashed, I was pulling almost a full day if not a full day of heavy use. Since picking up the note, I've been getting home from work with atleast 30% left. Actually, I don't think I've had a low battery notification since I picked it up. Looking forward to rooting, but out of the box...I'm impressed Samsung.
OMG N2 to N-edge
YOU WILL LOVE IT, I cant put it down. The phone drinks battery but purchased 2 extra batteries with portable charger. When you buy the phone samsung gives you 50% off all accessories. Well worth it, I loved the N2 and the N3 wasn't enough to upgrade off contract. N-Edge AWESOME:laugh::laugh::laugh::silly::silly::silly::victory::victory::victory:
And as an added bonus, the edge has 'adaptive charging' which allows you to go from 0%-50% in 30 minutes. That combined with 'quick charge 2.0' and swappable batteries, you should be good to go.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42303308&postcount=1612
This was SOT of my Note 2 when battery was new.
More than 9 hours on one charge.
When I hear you guys telling that I need to carry a spare battery with me or that the supercharger does 50 % in 30 min , I simply get scared.
Of course I will root and debloat the device but .............
Still sitting on a fence about getting this awesome device or not.
Thank you all for the feedback.
Maybe someone will come out with an extended battery that will last all day? At least I hope they do.

Same situation. Same comments. I'm on the att varient. I heavily modified my note 2 and frankly I'm OK with no root for now. Very happy with my upgrade.
I switch from a Note II to the Note Edge a few days ago and I love it! The only thing I'm missing is root... Ordered the spare battery charging kit just like with the Note II using the 50% off coupon. do iT!
I'm in the same boat.... but want an exynos version. ...

You'll receive a 50% off coupon code once you register your device with Samsung. It's a one-time use only... Hope that helps!
My Note 3 has about 15% better battery stats than my Note 2. The Note 4 from what I can tell is about the same as my 3 but that's with the higher res screen. My guess is that the Edge will be about the same as the 2, at least that's what I'm expecting anyway.
Now only those with an edge could attest to this but if you use your edge screen wisely to skip all the full screen on 10 sec checks of whatever wouldn't that save bat in the long run. If you can quickly edge through your notification without turning the whole thing on that should save you lots by the end of the day.

Marshmallow Battery Life Inconsistency - Marred my Note 5 Experience!

I regret the fact I updated my Note 5 to marshmallow few months back the battery performance has been so inconsistent that it's really marred my pleasure of using Note 5!
Before anyone asks my Note 5 is not rooted and I double checked it does not have deep sleep issue, I have done several hard reset still no joy battery is life is ridiculous, some days its okay other days its dire! Also tried disable the Fast Charge trick to no avail, it helps a little but not much. My usage pattern has not changed it the same from day one nor have I installed gazillion apps.
I have now decided to sell my Note 5 , looking at getting either HTC 10 or S7 Edge keep me going until Note 6 is released.
Agreed. I miss my note 4 hot swappable batteries ...sent from my nearly out of juice note 5.
