someone should make a pinned post - Sprint Galaxy S 5 General

IIt should contain all Roms available and guides :3 I can't find most Roms and it can be helpful

you mean like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742994 ? Yeah I guess they could pin that

Suggestion for the forum

Hi guys !!
My humble suggestion is that the moderator should put up a new sticky which has links to the various .cab files so that searching becomes easy because the search feature doesnt seem to search the attachment in threads.
One more suggestion is that another sticky can be put which lists the various common problems with the relating threads.
Eg.
Sound Problems :
Thread link
Thread link ....... and so forth
This would make this site more user friendly
By the way I just wanna thank all you guys for the work you people have done !!
(Specially abusalza for his N-Touch Rom !! Lolz)

Some advise needed from ROM builders

I like to start building my own ROMs, but I don't know nothing about it and I don't know wgere to start.
Can some pros in Rom building give me some lights, links to start reading or files that I need to get started?
Thanks for all the help.

There are so many threads dedicated to this kind of topic pal, no need to start new ones, read read and search and then read and search more.
I have read and searched alot in this forum, but I didn't found nothing like "Rom building for Dummies".
All that I found is not easy to start or not complete.
yes, there's rom cooking for dummies
Thanks for the link.

[REQUEST] PLEASE ORGANIZE the THREADS & TRY TO KEEP DEV SECTION CLEAN!

this is a sincere request...
instead of everyone starting a new thread when a FW get released & then creating another one for posting the rooted system.img here is wht i suggest:
Someone please take responsibility to maintain a single [FIRMWARE] THREAD where the OP (1st post) will contain links to latest FW available for d/l... when someone gets hands on newest FW they can post links to it in this firmware thread & the same person or other can post rooted system.img (if required for those who dont want to use prerooted-custom kernels) in same thread... also whenever there is a new FW (generic/branded/regional) available instead of posting it in other sections they can post it in this Dev thread... currently these are getting posted at various places (general section/etc) so all those searching for these FW/FTF files can find it easily...
also we can have a nice tagging system..
e.g.:
Arc-> [FIRMWARE][ARC] Latest FW: 4.0.A.2.368 [Update: 01-Aug]
Neo-> [FIRMWARE][NEO] Latest FW: 4.0.A.2.368 [Update: 01-Aug]
that way it will be easier to follow and search for info when new FW gets released...
i really hope that someone takeS responsibility for creating and maintaining this kind of thread for each Xperia 2011 device...
we had similar thread for X10 and it made life a LOT easier!
hope this will be helpful... once such a thread is formed i request the mods to please delete this thread so as to decrease clutter in the DEV section!
regards,
DooMLoRD
I'll make a thread when I get home later this evening. Index of all available firmwares with links incoming!
I think it would bee much better if NEO had his own subforum
Lets face it. There can not be 2 diferent models in one subforum.
Something wrong is bound to happen

actually what i personally feel is that all the Xperia 2011 devices can be clubbed under a single sub forum and then make sub-sub forums for each device... OR just keep the 5 basic sub-sections (Dev/General/themes/Q&A/Accessories) and then everyone should tag the threads properly with device ID... e.g.: say if u want to start a Arc related thread then just start the thread title with [ARC]...
cause if u see most of the things are common for Arc/Play/Neo (and even the new Xperia Mini/Mini Pro/Ray) {though i could be wrong} but all of these do share the same kernel source

A forum/subforum for the Neo has been added to the list of new forums.
I dont know if it will be a complete device forum or just a subforum under the Arc section and I dont know when it will appear but it will be something.
Please be patient

S Voice On U8800!!!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! Its working again and was fixed as I sespected because they checked the build.prop so I added the new link here for you all to download the new signed version.
So i decided to download the s voice apk dump that was on the main thread and try it on our phone and guess what... IT WORKS
So head over to this thread and scroll down to the bottom of the post download the rar extract it and install the apk like normal then have fun.

P.S it would be a nice feature for roms to have so it could be a good idea to incorporate it in your next release cough cough dzo
I tried on 2 phones - both says error parsing the package. So the link you gave doesn't work on our phones or HTC.
EDIT: of course if it's on ICS than i know why it's not working, because i use Gingerbread. Well then i live withiuth it. i gues it needs wi-fi/3G to work and that's is bad option for me.
what has this got to do with "development"?

not to much but its only in the development section so that developer will find it easier eg dzo and incorporate it into there rom
i bet the forum moderators have alternate views on this..
the development section is a serious place for development-related discussions instead of personal taste-related stuff..

well we will let them to decide when they get round to it but as far as im concerned this is where i reckon it should be
So now, the criteria to post on the development section is whether the poster wants the ROM devs to read or not? LoL
Thank you for posting this!
BUT, I'm on ICS (DZO) 2.04, and the app started OK but now it's just tell's me "unfortunally the application has stopped"
Which ICS are you on?
Moved To General
How is this development? Please post in the correct section!
This version does not needs changes in build.prop:
[App/MOD/Fix] S Voice app- "Network Error" Fix w/o Changing your build Prop
Not tested yet.
---edit---
It's working
I have been waiting for an app like this for a LONG time.
works like a charm... waiting that perhaps appears a version with portuguese language buit in
Haha cheers I just saw this on the main portal and hve edited this post with the new link

FAO chrisd1a1

If you're going to say, "thread closed. please post in the existing firmware thread", please be a bit more helpful and give a link to the existing firmware thread you're referring to.
eom
Hmm...what?
Edit: You are right. I don't see any existing lg6 thread.
Do you mean the existing firmware thread that all firmware posts are supposed to be put in .
The one called Stock Official Firmwares even the Guides and Roms official firmware makes it only a choice of two .
Message to mods should go via report thread if you want them to read it .
jje
i didn't even bother to request the mod to not close that one because that happened to blfb thread when it was new then they reopened it since the official firmware thread is getting cluttered thus i thought they would do the same for this one.
since that didn't happen, i'd like to request to re-open that thread and rename it to XXBLG6 new features so as to save the other main thread from clutters and this one will be specific only to new xxblg6 ; it will be easier to search what's new.
tia.
Damn was just about to post in there too

Single thread, choice of two - it's all too confusing for simple me and my simple buddies ....
All I'm saying is what I said - it would have been *more* helpful to have put a link to the thread chrisd1a1 (which ever of the two you're on about, I dunno, I'm even more confused) in the "closing" post. Simples, no?
Re. second part, I'd rather open the issue up for discussion than keep it backroom, ta very muchly.
Closed, if you have a problem with a mod, feel free to PM them.
Also, take a look at the rules
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

There is two stock firmware thread, stickied in this subsection, just open them and read, one is more of a guide as well, the other just a list of download links, but you would know this if you had clicked on them.
Also there is a sticky that should help guide you to which forum subsection you need to be in to find stuff.
Also.. as mods we have multiple forums to look after, do you really want us, as well as moving misplaced threads around, keeping the peace, and everything else we do, to do your research for you? I think not.
If you have a problem with this post, or anything else, feel free to PM me.
