awesome, I'm right behind you!

I know it's still available. I would rather get a ROM that's on XDA, that's all.

I just made "the jump" and wiped Sammy away from my Note, I flashed C-Rom Kang 1.7.
No regrets at all :good:, insane speed and features with Lean Kernel 3.6.

I have tried so many times to jump ship with my note.
But i always end up reverting, I dont know if its because i use SideSync so much and CM or PA appear to break that.
I can just not stay on for longer than a day to test it out.

Sadly I just reverted back to a stock base rom (Audax), after discovering that the Mobeam Beep n Go is not working on AOSP/CM roms [emoji17] , and also after some (probably) ram issues wich caused instability.

I'm on Temasek's CM11. Most stable CM based ROM for me. Slim and C ROM had problems on my phone. Would soon try Dirty Unicorn or even LiquidSmooth as soon as it gets stable status.

Have you already tried c-rom? How does temasek features list compare with it?
Little OT also, since I'm a newbie here, are this kind of thread against xda "no best rom thread allowed" rule? Just asking, I want to respect the forum guidelines [emoji4]

Tried C-RoM Kang from vikas724. I had some issues, the screen won't turn on and it's bothersome. Temas CM11 build has a few customization, but C-ROM Kang has more way more.

I've used AOSP ROMs on my HTC Desire HD and loved them.
Sammy now has so many little bonuses with their ROMs though. I use Pen Window, Multi Window, 4k recording, Blocking Mode on a daily basis.
Are there available on any AOSP, CM, AOKP Note 3 ROMs?
Could I make a TWRP backup of my current ROM, then install an AOSP, CM, AOKP ROM, then backup that in TWRP, and switch between the two?

You could easily switch back and forth in just a few minutes they are so light and unbloated they load up really fast. If you care about recording audio with your videos you will be extremely disappointed on every aosp ROM. They all record sound extremely low like they only use the microphone from phone calls.
********I spoke too soon, the recording audio is back in temasek's latest test build from today. It should be back for all of aosp in the near future as well*******

Not anymore...fixed check some CM based ones. They should be fixed now.

I'm a huge fan of Bobcat ROM, it's what I use on my daily Tmo Note 3. My experimental Note 3 runs DarthStalker ROM. Both are great choices.

Just send me a pm if you need info about X-Note.

Hi Smokerman...Thank you for your help...AORP very good :good:
( I dont no English...Greetings from Turkey )
Thanks for the summary.
I am currently using Polygon KK with mounts2sd. Very smooth and stable ROM, but I am ready to check other ROMs. Specifically I am looking for a ROM with more Xperia Z1 looks and features.
I think it is time for the ROM developers to include something like int2ext4 or mounts2sd built in to the ROM installer because storage space is almost the only problem for our Arc now (the other problem is processor speed.)

[POLL] - What Custom ROM do you want most for D855

Hi Everyone,
As you know the dev team is making progress on the device repo for most devices, since I build for the D855, I want to bring you guys a ROM once bump is released, so let me know which ROM you want most and if I get permission from that ROM's dev I will post it here
Current status I've tested (all current device issues are the same on all ROMs, such as wifi)
Mahdi-ROM - very stable, no software issues
AICP - very stable, no software issues
Cyanogenmod - very stable, no software issues
AOSB - Working great now! being used as Daily for now by me
Vanir-AOSP - very stable, no software issues
Omni - being worked on
Team-Gummy ROM - Future
Pac-ROM - Future
Beanstalk - build issues, not tested yet
Paranoid Android - Works Great!
LiquidSmooth ROM - Working Great on D855
DirtyUnicorns - Being Worked on
I'd like Cyanogenmod or Paranoid android because I see those roms getting updates quickly...
At this stage I'll take anything, honestly, but I'd really like to see PA.
I've heard good things about Mahdi though so I'll say Mahdi !!!
ProBAM is awesome project. I love it.

stock rom vs CyanogenMod 12 Android 5.0 Lollipop

Hey,
I've got rom stock on my s3.
The phone is slow and very short battery life.
Should i install cyanogenmod 12 - as shown here: http://www.naldotech.com/cyanogenmod-12-rom-5-0-lollipop-for-samsung-galaxy-s3/
or stable cyanogenmod ?
or just stay with the rom version i've got on my phone.
Pls advice
tnx
anyone?
Samsung based ROMs have better:
+Camera
+Stability
+Battery
AOSP based ROMs have better:
-Customization
-Performance
I recommend ArchiDroid ROMs
but in s3 samsung rom is only 4.3 with CyanogenMod i can get 5.0

Install CM12 weekly as suggested previously. Customize the governor and undervolt for great performance and battery life. Install CameraFV-5 and Cinema FV-5 for awesome camera quality. Much better than the samsung rooms.:good:
I too recommend custom ROM with android 5.0.2, its much better then stock ROM in almost everything
hello,
i haven't flashed my s3 since 4.3 .. which means ages ago. since 4.4.4 came out i wanted to flash it again, but there were no stable working running roms yet.
now after a while it seems that there's even 5.05 for my s3?
if so, where can i get infos and which rom should i get?? .. or should i stick to 4.4.4 kitkat?
oh and, if i flash a new rom, will it wipe everything? i forgot all that.
will i lose whatsapp database and all that?

You're on a forum with dozens of threads for dozens of roms. What more do you want???! ;/
Mind
I think stock is obsoleted and running slow. Thus I use Cyanogenmod 12. My s3 run smooth and customized. Combo with Boeffla kernel for optimized performance and daily use.
Good day,
It's just that I am new to rooting - I just successfully rooted my phone a while ago, and I was wondering, if I installed Custom ROMS, will I somewhat lose some functionality of the S3?
I have this "turn off when the phone is put on the ear while calling" feature, Smart Stay, Turn upside down to turn off sounds, etc.
If I install the S5 Sensation ROM, will I get to use these features? If I install AOSP ROMS, will these ROMs have the exact equivalent?
Thank you very much!
If your don't like Stock 4.3 ROMs, you can install CM11 stable, it's fast and stable.
I use Cyanogenmod 12.1 by JustArchi and Moster2. It is excellent, fast, reliable. The only problem I couldn't solve yet is that MMS don't work (send and receive).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/5-1-x-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3066864

Terrible. They released the phone on lollipop last year only to update it to 6.0 and now no Nougat update. Knew it back then when they released it with lollipop on 2016.
be positive guys maybe they release late of a month or maybe coming on line of September october or maybe end of Year

What stock apps? Example? I have two devices with me, RN4 on MIUI and RN3 on LOS, can create a video to compare. I'm waiting for stable roms to flash on RN4 (current custom roms are still buggy) and I will completely forget about the crappy MIUI.

nope. i experience signal fluctuations when connected to WIFI.
It's a chinese company so it was to be expected, don't act all surprised. The only reason I bought this phone is because it has a large custom ROM community so I don't have to rely on the manufacturer to update my phone. In fact, Lineage OS is better than MIUI could ever hope to be, I've been running Nougat since January and I'm sure we'll get Android O LOS so who cares about Xiaomi and MIUI.

Looks like fake news. Seems it's only about stats on already updated ones. Also check http://en.miui.com/thread-679299-1-1.html
It says "The image above was shared on MIUI's Weibo to update users about which Mi devices have updated based on Android N. Some tech sites reported that it's the list of eligible devices for MIUI 9. It's fake news as well. Most of them are click baits and you should be aware of it."
all we need is updated kernel source not creepy ****ty miui
We may still get Nougat and this isn't about devices getting Nougat anyway, it's about devices with Nougat already.
I so gave a go at translating with Google translate and it shows in the 7.1 section that the Mi6 is there, that already has Android 7.1 so it is definitely a list of devices with Android N already
dont give a damn to miui :silly:

Definitely won't receive as much support from the community as nougat had.

Which rom do you prefer?

Hello
I didn't try many roms on the 6t yet, just Havoc and Renovate.
While Havoc is fun and with many mods, I felt it was not as speedy and smooth as stock rom, I also had trouble with wifi not connecting automatically.
Now I am using Renovate which is a cool bunch of mods for stock rom but it's missing a more solid aod (no music control, no clock movements loop).
Which rom do you recommend, that is smooth, with plenty of mods and stable enough?
i always stick to stock rom.
I am also surprised to see no oos based rom with plenty of mods like transparent app drawer ir navigation bar colors.
Renovate is a very good start but because it's a mod pack/rom that is shared over several devices, there are no specific mods for oos.
Unfortunately the only fully working aod on 6t nowadays are aosp
AOSiP for me. I have tried almost all ROMs and AOSiP is the most stable with just the right amount of mods. I am very nicely settled now with a custom kernel and settings, swift themes. Got amazing battery life and super smooth performance
Currently using renovate, waiting for fingerprint to get fixed on AOSP and then I'll probably flash RR

You might try the version 54 of the Smurf kernel, it has the WiFi driver built in. It solved my Wifi problems in Lineage.
SkyDragon, Maybe I'm a little bias

Only 2 bugs left to fix then we share it. Busy with real life so not much time for the rom. Hoping this week beta with testers and then release on XDA.
AOSIP or liquid remix. Both veeeery snappy and stable. Nice battery as well.
Today I'd go for official AOSIP for sure.

Now I am lost, I was tempted to try RR as it looks like having the most complete mods and useful oneplus apps, but aosip is better overall?
I've been using crdroid for a long time now. Almost daily updates, full AOD, OMS, loads of customisation, fast, stable. It's decent.
As soon as the FP starts working in AOSP roms, they will be on fire..

How's battery?
I saw that AOSIP fixed a battery drain that was on many aosp roms
