It would be a create idea, but first we need more info on the inner workings of the pine. This device desperately needs the attention of an active developer. We have root, on a device running vanilla 4.1.2, using hardware available on many other devices, so I'm thinking it could be possible to plug in drivers

Could not you take a Custom Rome of a mobile phone with similar hardware, and install this on the Neptune Pine?

[Q] From Android back 2 WinMobile?

Hi there,
I want to make first steps in Android on my HTC HD2, but I´m unsure to do it.
The Problem is - I have absolutely no practice on Android and need to switch back to WinMobile if I don´t like AndroidOS...
Is there a way to switch back in case of wurst case?
Sorry for that bad english, but schooltime was a long, long time ago...
Update:
I thought, android replaces WinMob... Am I right? some threads made me unsure..
Or will Android simply running in a VM on WinMob?
Thanks for help
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
Let me try to answer that one before someone hits you that you have to start reading!
There is absolutely no problem to test this out!
All that happens is that you start Android from WinMobile so Winmobile will stay on your HD2.
You have to 'install' Android on your SD-card. I placed 'install' between ' ' because you just copy the files on the card and it works like that!
If I was you I would get a clean SD-card and copy the Android build on it.
Just make sure that you have a folder called Android with files called Zimage etc copied in that folder. Copy the 1GB data.img file also in that Android folder (makes 1st start faster).
So now that you have done that just maybe reboot your HD2.
Go to your speicherkarte and VERY important !! click first CLRCAD.exe. It will do nothing but it is needed. Then you can press haret.exe which will start Android.
The first time it can take minutes.
Ok now go and enjoy Android and use the search button to look for answers and problems.
OK, Thanks...
I´ve started reading a lot, but it was still too much for me...
All I needed to know was answered by you in 20 words, I hoped to become an answer like this...
thanks a lot
Happy android, bro
try the angry bird and guns&glory, the phone will glue on your hand whole week XD

good form
nice to see a noob question not being flamed, good form lukesan

Please try to speak in English, as the forum rules state. And regarding the ROM, I am currently using Gen.Y Sense 4, and although it has a few quirks, Sense 4 is too sweet to let go of. That Car Mode is just bedazzling!
Another one of these? If you look in the Android Development Section there are plenty to try and find out what works best for you. Most if not all have a list of features/bugs/modifications that will help you decide.
I would go with andromodus cm10 test builds
Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk 2
As if we didn't already have a ton of these threads right on the first page of the general section.
and Best is always going to be relative on what your needs are, for example if you need stability and everything working, the JB Test builds are not going to be for you.
RCMix.Energized.7.26.2012.Fixed.Kernel_Ver2
the best sense3.5.
try to find it.
i would go for the andromadus test build like tylerjholmgren, flinny is really working hard on it.
Now i Use "RCMix.Energized.7.26.2012.Fixed.Kernel_Ver2"
It´s very nice
Andromadus MimiCry seems to be the best Ive tried:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714187
Sense 3.5= ANdroid revoltion
Android 4.0.4= Andromadus Audacity Beta 5
Jelly Bean=Andromadus cm10 tesbuilds(i do not recommend it, but if you want JB, give it a try)
Do any of the ICS rom's have fully functioning cameras?
I'm looking for the most stable fully functional daily driver, I would rather be outdated and have stable camera and phone functionality. I've been using Andromadus b4 but the phone lags like crazy, and most apps stutter. What would you recommend for a person in my situation? Fast old and good...

ILWT CM7. it is CM7 but it's pretty much close to perfect.:good:
If you want a stable Daily Driver, I'd recommend Cyanogenmod 7 - All of the kinks have been worked out of this and it runs great on the G2/DZ.
If you want features, check out either mimicry (currently ICS based but soon to be upgraded to JB) or Cyanogenmod 10. Both of these still have a few issues (camera focus, video problems, no N wifi), but still work pretty good most of the time. I've been using Mimicry since it came out and I'm loving it.

Of ICS roms, CM9 (RC2) and its offshoot Audacity Mimicry appear to have the most functional camera, with Andromadus Audacity Beta 5 a little bit behind. However, if stability is your ultimate goal, then ILWT CM7 will be a way better choice.
Of all the roms I've tried, Andromadus Mimicry has to be the best if you want a stable, quick and fully upgraded rom (jelly bean). However Cm9 is pretty good as well. Both reach my standards, but I feel Mimicry just comes out on top. I would suggest trying them both:
Mimicry:

CM7 is not ICS....
To me MIUI running gingerbread was the best thing that happened to my DZ. None of the ICS was even close to the speed and stability of ginger miui.

Mimicry is definitely not an offshoot of jerl92's CM9 (RC2) ROM. Mimicry is an offshoot of Andromadus Audacity and as such has the exact same camera.
Not to blame you for being misinformed as it can get a bit confusing, especially when a dude (jerl92) names his unofficial CyanogenMod based ROM "CyanogenMod" people seem to think it's actually CyanogenMod.
Please see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30076360 for clarification on non-Sense based ICS ROMs for our device.

"badaNEXT" - Making a better bada

I do not know whether the idea meets with interest ...
I'll throw the idea but just once in the round ...
We all know that bada shall have its flaws and missing features that only by custom ROM can be upgraded ...
Here is a point to wear ...
Even the look you could make more of bada ...
This point comes into play two ...
Meanwhile, it allows the bada-modding to get ran well to certain design elements ...
All i can say *. Rbm-Files ...
Hence my idea of a completely new to tinker bada-ROM ...
Sense of it all, it should NOT be to create a second Android, but to create an entirely new concept ...
Therefore, would initially only once to clarify how the ROM should be made more technically ...
Next, you would have ran to the design ...
Here are a few people would get together, who know the one with the modding. Then people would of distress, which in terms of design e Bissel what's on the box.
This includes Flash programmers would include, for example, to craft a new lockscreen ...
I hope it will find a few people ...
Maybe we can develop something really good here ...
All i can say *. Rbm-Files ...

I thought there's no way to edit RBM files to date? I might try my hands on something (using ho1ods source) myself, but that might take a long time.
Alright, I've taken a look at the RBM files internal structure, and it doesn't look any good :-/.
While the internal structure itself is actually pretty easy, the problem lies in the embedded images. Four(!) different compression methods are used: LZ16, LZ32, QMG16 and QMG32. No way that I can do this all on my own. I could do decode/encode for LZ16/LZ32, but QMG is used for most.
The only chance that I see right now is, IF RBM is also used for Samsungs Android FWs that we'll get support from this side.
Maybe RBM step by step..
Step 1 disable Pictures... like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27932409&postcount=124
Step 2 could be replace content... or replace by other Pic from other RBM...
If I have more time... I will play again with bada SDK...
Maybe easier to try modified RBM instead RC1 flashing on device...
Best Regards

Okay...
let's pick up this thread again...
Maybe it could be pinned as sticky...
I think, we should collect all improvements of FW customizations here...
E.g. Tutorials for UI Customizing...
I think, we ned a plan...
So i think, we need an overview, what UI element can be modified in what RBM file...
Wat r the flaws in bada 2

How about replacing QMG compressed chunks with LZ ones? Should be doable, no?

Have you tried Achotjan's SEMC Debrand Engine CM 7.2 ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400384 It's fast, has Xperia S' Firmware, apps and even original lockscreen. Also, you can try DiKej's DiXperia 8 ROM, which is very similar; also based on Xperia S theme/interface and CM 7.2.
Or, if you want ICS fast and stable, I would recommend Achotjan's SEMC Debrand Engine CM 9 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965154 (see the pseudo-review made here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164553)
If you don't like Sony's interface and you want ICS Google/original one - this is it: X10forevers' Slimbean v 4.0 Kickass Edition http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064389.
I hope this helps you, happy flashing! :cyclops:
AW: [Q] help plz...need stable rom for my x10
I wouldnt suggest you to use a jelly bean rom ,if you want the best experience use either achtjotans semc debrand engine or dixperia 7/ 8 stock based....

Thread closed. There is no such thing as most stable/the best ROM. You should check them all and pick one which suits your personal needs most.

After Experience Update 6.0 shield hangs at the start in the green logo

Hello everybody,
have a huge problem, some time ago came out the Experience Update 6.0 for the shield.
Updated, then stood on the screen any text with ADB, I did not photograph it, then restarted.
Since then, the shield hangs at the start in this green logo, even after several hours.
Have googled and also found how to get into the root menu (or what that means), but does not work with various shortcuts.
Does anyone know advice?
Is there any way to flash or reset the shield?
Or is there an expert who can and lives near Iserlohn?
PLEASE HELP !!!

Hallo,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lnMiMUTG8hjI-EXBn7UL2qfMjgU0DiyB/view
Die Shield hängt per USB an einem Windows 10 PC.
Im Gerätemanager wird APX angezeigt:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v37pNnpYB7Gk8QBmaI8jAqNg2ZajKL4T/view
Habe mir die Treiber
SHIELD_Family_WHQL_USB_driver_201506
von der Nvidia Seite installiert. Scheinbar sind die nicht für Windows 10 geeignet.
Jetzt komme ich wieder nicht weiter
