Back to Stock problems - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Can anyone please help. Basically had my phone with 4.2.2, I managed to root and install custom recovery and roms without tripping knox.
I want to go back to stock and put everything as official. I was told to download I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_BTU, which i did from sammobile and I flashed. I now get no wifi and a security prevention warning?, plus my system still says custom.
Please help
Thanks

Try this:
1. Go to recovery hold volume up + home + power at the same time and then wipe data and cache... This will delete everything from your phone...
2. Where says custom in download mode ?

Hi
thanks for the reply, I tried wiping cache but it says error, it does allow me to factory reset which ive tried but still no wifi and still have this protection prevention information
Thanks
Mav

Try to flash the same firmware again

[N9005] Boot looping + unknown baseband

Hi,
After flashing the MJ6 ROM with the Universal root de la vega method (I have the old bootloader from MJ1) and flash the MJ4 modem, the camera and and wifi were not working, I tried to downgrade the modem to MJ2 with Odin to give a try.
However now I'm facing several boot loops (on first notification model screen) and when the Note succeed in corectly booting, I have an FC from system process, and some others applications.
I tried to check the phone parameters and saw that baseband was "unknown", but didn't succeed to see the screen where the IMEI is displayed because the phone is rebooting automaticaly when I try to access to this screen.
The phone is very instable : sometimes I'm not able to access to parameters with the tactil button.
In all cases the phone is auto rebooting after several minutes.
I tried several things withoot result :
- Wipe cache + factory reset
- Flash several modems
- Flash MI7 stock ROM with Odin
> no change
Actually I have :
- baseband unknown
- boot looping
- no wifi
- no sound
- no root
- acces to download mode and stock recovery is OK.
As someone have some cloues to help me?

I'm pretty sure your Knox warranty void has been tripped... Flash the MJ6 stock firmware. You have the new bootloader now anyway, that's why you are in the bootloop.. I had the same problem and when I checked and found warranty void triggered I figured can't hurt.
Flashed stock MJ6 firmware. Baseband comes back, all thos little things not working get fixed. I then flashed CF-root as the warranty void was 0x1...
It seems if you flash the Modem.bin file you are stuck, you need to flash the MJ6 firmware to fix....

I had the same pb ..... and flash MJ6 full and now it's OK .... so I rooted ... Knox 1 ....but everything OK I am happy
Ok, but normaly I always have the old bootloader because I do not have flash the MJ6 stock > It has been modified with universal root de la vega before flashing with Odin, and my flag is still on 0x0.
> So normaly the MJ6 I flashed should not contain the new bootloader.
It will be troublesome for me if flashing a stock MJ6 is needeed as I do not want to trigger the Knox flag.
I always have the solution to return my Note to my seller for refund, so I'm seeking for a way which do not trigger Knox

It will be strange, because I succedeed to root the Note withoot triggering Knox
You have to be sure that you do not have take update from OTA or official stock ROM when you was on ROM before MJ3 (if you take stock MJ3 bootloader is altered)

You can find it on Sammobile website (create an account is needed to access to download section)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N9005&pcode=0#firmware
After flashing the MJ6 stock firmware to recover my baseband, I have juste noticed that wifi is not properly working.
> Wifi is blocked on activation
> Sometime the Note succeed to activate wifi and show me networks which are available, however when I'm trying to connect to one of them I got a freeze then wifi go back to activating statuts.
Any explanation?
SM-N900W8 Boot Loop
Has anyone else resolved this issue. Phone was rooted with "CF-Auto-Root-hltecan-hlteub-smn900w8" and used TWRP 2.6.3.0. Upon doing a restore with TWRP, the phone is now in this crazy loop. Phone boots but always fails prior to seeing home screen. Tried going to SamMobile and restoring original Rogers firmware with no resolution.
Any help is most appreciated.

If you flashed the stock MJ6 then you have the new anti-root bootloader. ANY attempt to root will end in Warranty void being triggered...
Unfortunately this is a problem that hasn't been fixed yet. Just a heads up to let you know you will probably trigger the warranty void.
Then again Designgears is back developing RDLV again so it might be updated soon... :fingers-crossed:

thanks again for usual insight.
unfortunately, the bootloop problem was back after a restart yesterday. took several loops (about 30 mins) before it started up. i had to reflash with the latest stock N9005XXUDMJ7_N9005OJVDMJ4_KSA. now im scared to restart the phone for any reason, since i cant tell if it will entre bootloop again - it gets worse with every reset.
Since the knox already tripped 0x1, i still desire to root it ASAP.
So,
1. how do i get rid of this bootloop menace, PERMANENTLY
2. how do i safely root the phone (SM-N9005)
will appreciate a lot of help.

As Knox is tripped use cf-autoroot found in the original android developement section of the Note 3 forum. This will give you root...
I would also try a different region rom, I used MJ7 from the UK. It didn't cause any issues.
I had bootloops and found going to wifi, clicking on menu button, advanced.& unticking "Scanning always available" seemed to fix my bootloops but this was for my MJ1 firmware.
Otherwise can't really help anymore tonight. Gotta go to work tomorrow and its 2am here in Oz....

But phone is still unuseable ....Boots up, pass the intial setting. Then error message about system not responding and reboot ...

Hi,
Unfortunately for you no, I made a swap with a brandnew one with the seller.

UID Inconsistent error: Need help in hard resetting phone

Hi,
I am plannning to sell my i9500 model. I was using Arrow Rom V11 (4.3 without knox) before deciding this. In order to give valid warranty phone to the buyer, I ventured into installing stock 4.3 rom on the phone. As I a, from India, I have downloaded Indian 4.3 stock firware from Sammobile and flashed through ODIN. When the flashsin is done, the I am getting this "UID Inconsistent" message and along with many other"process stopped" messgaes. so I am not even abnle to get into settings menu to do a factory reset.
I read somewhere that "finxing permissions" through TWRP will solve the problem. But that will create another problem to me i.e lost warranty. (As i have already flashed 4.3 stock, Knox is set in).Hence I am not sure what to do make the phone function normally?
I want to keep installing custom recovery as last option. Btw, I am not able to get into recoverymode (even stock recovery) by pressing volume up+power+home buttons. When I try that phone flashes andorid symbol momentaorly and then reboots.
It will be great if you can offer some help! thanks in advance!!!
1. Ur warranty is void (Knox 0x1) -> No warranty in some country, in others yes.
2. Install TWRP and fix perms for solve ur problems
3. Reboot and take a look if all is correct
4. Reflash STOCK ROM for let ur phone like STOCK (but with knox actived -> no solution for that atm)

After Flashing NH6 ROM, Wifi Not Working And Device Status Still Shows Custom

Hello gurus,
I had rooted NH3 ROM on my device. I flashed the latest NH6 (INU) ROM through Odin. But even after flashing the stock ROM, device status still shows the custom though I have lost my root permissions and recovery is also stock. Moreover, I can not switch on my wifi at all.
Please help as soon as possible.
If You Download NH6 from sammobile firware It have bug In wifi . but if You update By Phone from NH3 to Nh6 It have not any promblem about wifi
I did the same as you and got pi**ed off, restored my NG8 nandroid backup, end!
It seems like we force a foreign firmware into the device, that's why it doesn't function well I guess!
Dude just go into about phone and give
Software update and it will register ur phone and ur phone will be official again
Update: Flashed the firmware again with "Nand Erase All' option checked in Odin and after installation had to reset the device. Everything works fine now including Wifi and device status is official. Great!!

Well, that didn't help. Because the device status was showing as 'Custom' so was not able to get OTA updates. Kies didn't help either. It downloaded the official firmware but after that there was the message that device is not recognised. Anyway, it's now solved. Thanks for your reply.

[Q] Remove Custom & "Lock" logo on boot screen

Hello all,
I have a Samsung Galxy S5 with AT&T model SM-G900A. Any time the phone reboots, on the "Samsung Galaxy S5" boot screen, it says "Custom" and has an "Unlocked Padlock" logo as if the phone were rooted or something. A while back, I was trying to do a basic root to allow use of Titanium Backup using the Towelroot app, which failed because it said my phone was not supported. I'm not sure if this has caused it, or if, as I read elsewhere, it was caused by my once changing from Dalvik to ART. However, I have since switched back to Dalvik, I know its not rooted because SU and other such apps wont work, and I have even Factory Reset the device but I can not get rid of this. I would like to return my phone to its default state. How can I get rid of this "Custom" and Lock Logo? Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
-Noomrise
It won't hurt anything as long as Knox isn't tripped but you can download the full stock retail ROM and flash it in Odin or Kies 3.
Update: Phone thinks its rooted?

Okay, so here is an update. After performing a factory reset in order to try and fix this issue, I was playing around and opened the "Softcard" app and received the message that it doesn't work on rooted phones. Since the Towelroot app did not work, I don't understand this. I have also been unable to get SuperUser to install binaries, saying the phone is not rooted. Don't know what this means or if it helps, but thought id give an update. Thanks again!
Would you be so kind as to provide me with a link to the retail ROM and instructions on flashing it through Kies 3? THANKS!
I'd have to do a search. .. or you could. ?

I would like to report that flashing the stock ROM has fixed both the Custom Lock boot screen as well as SoftCard thinking my phone was rooted. Thank you Rapunzl for your help, you are awesome!

Help me flash stock ROM back please.

It all started when I rooted my phone (Samsung J5 2016 - SM-J510FN), installed TWRP through Odin, did a reset and flashed Extreme UX (9.0). Everything worked so as a noob I decide to turn off USB Debugging and OEM Unlock. I reboot my phone and get the message "Custom Binary blocked by FRP". So I decide to look up how to fix it. Kies didn't work so I go through sammobile and download the Stock ROM. I searched SM-J510FN and filtered for my country (Greece). I downloaded the first ROM I found and flashed it through Odin. I was really excited. Then I unlock my phone. I get dozens of popup messages of "x has stopped working" and the launcher wasn't working properly. I would appreciate any help. Is it a firmware problem? Should I do a hard reset and try installing stock again? Thanks.

Doing factory data reset should clear out those errors
Thanks for your answer. I don't really know how to do a factory reset because I can't access the device's settings.
