I have one bought in China(original), I can only install one made for China version(same as those 16gb bought in Hongkong), every other firmware always got error when installing via odin. But I can install custom 4.4.2 custom roms.

Since you are already on a custom recovery and ROM, rooted I assume. I would download this app, and flash the latest Philz Recovery, CWM, or TWRP with it. Then you should have no problem flashing a KitKat ROM. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools&hl=en

How did you tried to install KitKat? Kies? Custom recovery? On tyhe tablet itself?

[Q] Convert samsung edition i9505 into google edition i9505G ?

Hi guys !
I have the GS4 i9505 with touchwizz and i want to know if it is possible to transform it into the google edition i9505G (without touchwizz). I saw it was possible to convert a LG optimus G into a nexus 4 so can we do the same with the i9505 and the i9505G because they have the same hardware ?
Or anybody know how to port AOSP on it ?
Thank you a lot !!!

I know but I think the google S4 will be updated before stable CM roms
My fear is it will not be exactly the same hardware so we won't just be able to flash pure goog on a 9505g. I fear they will hobble the G with no SD or something else. Please guys don't do this!

You can flash the platform file from the leaked 4.3 firmware via odin and you will have a fully working Google system including the ability to update.
But without root....
At this moment there is no root possible

lifehacker.com/install-google-edition-roms-on-skinned-htc-ones-and-cer-732590116 (copy and paste the link newbies cant post urls )
Actually you can flash a google edition rom on the samsung edition S4. Google Play Edition only supports GSM so, if your S4 is CDMA you need to flash a ported version, not the official version for the S4 Google Play Edition.
So, can perhaps somebody summarize what is possible and what not?
I think the Otas for GPEs are out, so are we able to flash stock 4.3 Goolge edition to our i9505? I mean the stock one, so not the modifyed versions from jamal etc.

this is funny, this has been achieved in HTC One and people including me have got 4.3 OTA and running it successfully. its interesting that same has not been achieved in bigger s4 community!

My i9505 should arrive in the next few days, I hope there will be stock Odin images by then. If not, well... I'm no stranger to custom ROMs...
I am also interested in changing my i9505 into a i9505g.Any pogress?
9505 to 9505g
It has been days I'm trying to find a solution for that, but can't find anything!!
The idea is to have a full conversion of the image, fully OTA from Google, working 100% as the GE version, but all I have found are custom roms.
Anybody had success flashing the platform from Google ??
Thanks.

It has been done by others that's why we tell people not to do it. ... It's not the same

Sometimes it is possible to downgrade, but for sure my friend, then u won't have wifi and/or sound

What if he installs a custom 4.3 rom?
Would that work? can he install the custom rom in recovery? or that would brick the phone because of the new bootloader?

downgrade always possible but there are problems
example
sound, calls
can be fixed using a custom kernel, mods, etc.
but this did not benefit
why necessary ? 4.4.2 is better
question is downgrade and reset Knox
it is
everything else is nothing
confirmed for I9500 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2686882

Bro as i said you don't need that and it doesn't matter what is your firmware build number or what is your baseband number. All you need is a specific file for your mobile like CF root for s3 or S3 neo or s4 etc ok and if any thing matters is that your mobile variant number and yours GT-I9301I.
