even i want to remove dual boot feature..

with normal devices you can just wipe the whole system & then push files via adb , this solves the problem but i am a little scared with Xiaomi !! don't want it to go bust .

Don't forget to give proper credits and possible the link of the original thread of the developer of that CWM. Thanks.

here bro

Thanks for this recovery. I do have a question regarding TDB. With the stock recovery I always had the original chinese rom on system 1. If I installed the Xiaomi.eu multilang weekly it always went into system 2. Now that I have flashed CWM, I see that both system 1 and 2 have the multilang version. Is it safe to flash CM11 over one of these?
And I believe switching systems is done via CWM: choose which system to manage and then reboot system?
Edit: My device becomes unbootable after backing up either system 1 or 2. Have to reset using MiFlash, nothing else works. Anyone else has this issue?

Hi. If you install an update using the stock recovery, it will update the system which you are not on. Suppose if u install an update while u are on system 1, the update happens on ur system 2. In cwm that is not the case. U can safely install cm11 on system 1. To do this :
1. Start cwm. Then select manage system 1.
2. Install zip from SD card and choose the cm11 zip. Then go to cwm advanced - select active system - choose system 1.
3. Go back to main menu & reboot.

After made a back up in system 1 in cwm, I chose to reboot to system. But it refused to boot to system it stuck on white MI logo. I think it's bootlooping. Luckily I still managed get back to cwm to restore my backup. Not regular restore though, as it resulted error response something like my backed up is incomplete. So I'd to flashed stock 4.8.15 then advance data only restore. Phew.

[Q] DEFY MB525 - update to 4.4

Hello,
I want to update my DEFY MB525 to 4.4.
I downloaded all necessary files from the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515036
In it, it is written "To install KitKat, need update recovery."
I did the update but I don't know how to verify it is ok.
What is the version that I should have ?
When I check, I have the Bootmenu ICS Recovery v5.6.7-jordan.
Is it ok ?
Can somebody help me on this ?

I rebooted my Defy, went to the stable recovery (volume down when blue light and select the right option).
Then I chose "Install zip from sdcard" and selected the file from defy.bytekiste.de directory cm11-nightly-defy+ file update-recovery.zip I have placed on my sdcard.

Follow the guide in that thread. It has not actually updated the recovery, since it updates a newer version of recovery than what you are using now.

Well, in the guide it is written :
# Updating Recovery: Go to recovery Mode in TWRP its better to wait for at least 30Sec after entering in recovery this waiting will ensure that your device won't Reboot when you are working in it. After update, reboot your device it is not necessary but it is okay to have one. DON'T ENTER IN SYSTEM GOTO TO RECOVERY AGIAN

I don't understand what I do wrong ?
TWRP is the name of the recovery. I'll dumb it down for you.
Follow this procedure.
1. Go to the normal recovery (reboot phone, when blue LED lights up, press volume down. Then select custom or stable recovery.)
2. Download this zip to SD card and Install -
http://d-h.st/dWr .
3. Now reboot and press volume down when LED becomes blue.
4. Now, install this from SD card - http://d-h.st/dz8.
5. Immediately install the KitKat zip and then gapps. Also flash the update to the 29-12 build.
6. Reboot.

I followed it exactly.
I have a problem, when the system launches, I can't access to the desktop.
And I have an error "The proccess com.android.systemui has stopped"
I tried doing a wipe and restarting but it doesn't change anything.
Any idea ?

No, don't use the standard gapps. It's too large and fills up the /system partition. Instead, use banks Core gapps (the file called "12-14_GApps_Core_4.4.2_signed.zip").
Edit: Since you've already tried flashing the standard gapps, your system partition is probably full now. Here's what I'd recommend:
Go into Team Win (TWRP) recovery, and wait at least 30 seconds to make sure that it is behaving in a stable way. (Sometimes TWRP reboots suddenly within the first 20 seconds or so. It's a known bug.) Then flash safewipe.zip to wipe your system, cache, and data partitions. Then flash CM11, followed by the 03.01.14 Update, followed by Core gapps.

Which gapps did you use? If you used standard gapps (rather than core gapps), your system partition is probably full now. Read a few posts above yours for the solution.
Hi,
I achieve to install CM11 on my Defy MB525.
As far as now, everything is working well.
My previous try was bad (black screen and no access to the apps) because of the GApps ("full" and not "core" ones).
Thank you hotdog125 & Proverbs2.

You sound like you really don't know what you're mate.
I think the best advice anyone can give you is to put your phone down and read some more.
If you have successfully flashed CWM then all you need to do is flash a ROM of your choice then wipe data / factory reset.
Also before you even think about flashing anything to your phone you NEED to back up your EFS partition.

To do a full backup onto your sd card you need to boot into recovery. Before that you need to make sure that you have installed twrp recovery installed.
1. Go to TWRP Install from the menu page in TWRP.
2. Make sure you have your device name selected. LG Leon us c50
3. Make sure you select the TWRP Recovery Version to install should show 3.0.0.0.0-c50 and some other options.
4. Click on install recovery to install TWRP.
After that make sure you boot into recovery mode.
1. Go to TWRP menu.
2. Click on reboot.
3. Click on reboot into recovery.
Once in recovery you can backup your rom and flash a new one.
Edit: did not realise user bumped a year old thread please delet if necessary

SM-J510FN Dual Sim Stuck in TWRP recovery mode

Can anyone help, I rooted my phone last year and installed TWRP as part of the process, I did a backup at the time which I have on my SD card
the phone is stuck in the TWRP recovery mode, I can restore from my backup and it goes through fine but then goes back into recovery mode.
This all started when I tried to reset the phone back to factory defaults. I guess I wiped everything. Has anyone got any ideas how to get out of this.
I am not too familiar with TWRP, if anyone could point me in the right direction with a simple step by step guide it would be most appreciated.

Which is why I asked for a bit more detailed advice on my problem. If you could point me in the direction of a suitable
ROM for my device which will work I would appreciate it.

I have tried several custom roms non of which work. What I don't understand is why when I restore from my one and only backup
it all goes through ok the size is 6036MB it reports restoring 7 partitions
then restoring boot then restoring data, at the end of it I get restore ok then it goes back to the TWRP recovery screen.

Is your stock rom android 5 by any chance?
I don't know what my stock rom is, I can't access anything on my phone apart from the TWRP recovery screen
I do have another SM-J510FN which was bought at the same time which hasn't been rooted running Android 7.1.1
I don't know if that would help to determine what the stock rom is.

Sorry I misread the thread I thought it was 2015 model.
So what exactly did you do? Step by step.
Did you wipe anything in twrp?

I went into the TWRP recovery mode then to Wipe hoping to do a factory reset, that went through ok and came back into the TWRP recovery mode
I then tried Advanced wipe and ticked all the boxes except micro SD card. Nothing could get me out of the recovery mode so then I tried a restore from
an old backup and that seemed to go through ok, but it still came back to the recovery mode.
If it was me, I would remove the back cover and via TWRP menu turn off phone.
As soon as the screen goes black, remove battery.
Insert battery and power on and see what happens.
Have you tried that? Or how do you turn it off?

Many times
Okay... when screen goes black have you tried to quickly start pressing the key combination to enter download mode?
For my J500 it's Volume down + Home key + Power (keep pressing until download screen appears) should be same for J510.
If you can enter download you have the option to use Odin and flash either a stock ROM or a newer Recovery.
If you want, you could:
Advance wipe, everything except SD card and OTG Usb. (How much was backed up? Did you tick all boxes?)
Format Data
Restore backup from SD card again
Advance wipe, tick only 2 boxes, Dalvik + Cache
Restart
Report back
Oh, and just to clarify... when you manually go to Restart in TWRP, no matter what option you choose, the phone restarts into TWRP again?
Bare with me, I'm trying to understand and help.
Thats the problem, I can't get out of the TWRP recovery mode so am not able to use Odin, I presume when I did my original backup
I didn't tick all the boxes because it goes through a recovery with no problem I presume the boot sector is missing.
From the TWRP recovery mode I am able to go to install and select a previously downloaded file but then it fails.
I have searched for a suitable ROM to download but am struggling to find one for my phone
Ok, what TWRP version do you have?

You can update your TWRP with a newer version from here:
https://twrp.me/samsung/j5xnlte.html
(Carefully check that I linked to your model!)
.img is what you want to put in your phone. BUT... I haven't done this myself, so it's your call.
In TWRP you choose to install img and locate the file on your SD card.
My thought is that your TWRP is too old for the ROMs you have tried... (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong).

I have the TWRP image file 3.4.0-0 which partition should I be flashing it to Boot or Recovery?
I would hate kill it after getting this far.
in reply to amirizad_7436 I don't understand, I can't install a stock rom via Odin as I can't get out of the TWRP recovery mode.

You can. There is an option to reboot download mode from twrp (might be reboot bootloader)
That will put the device into download mode and you can flash with Odin.
Alternatively you could go to advanced wipe and wipe everything like you already did and then just flash a custom ROM. You wiped everything you said and then tried to reboot. That's why it went to twrp because you wiped system, there is no system to boot anymore.

Wow, that worked, I updated the version of TWRP and then installed a ROM that I downloaded "resurrectionremix-5.8.4-20190821"
and all seems to be working, both sims are recognised and operational all I need now is to get my head around the UI apart from that everything seems
good. Thank you everybody who helped me through this. I almost got to the point of binning an otherwise good phone.
Once again a big thankyou to everyone.
