Battery Drain after 7.3.0 update

Has anyone else had issues with significant battery drain after the 7.3.0 update. I was rooted and thought I had blocked the update but got it anyway. After some trouble, I was able to reroot but started noticing significant battery drain (like 50% overnight) and wasn't sure if anyone else was having any similar isssues
the best for me, was 7.2.1 no 7.2.3 or 7.3.0, vecause it is faster, save more battery, less bloatwares, no wifi bugs, i would love kinology with 7.2.1

Yeah I prefer 7.2.1, mainly due to the low signal Wi-Fi issues I had with 7.2.3.

I have the same problem, since i updated kfhd to 7.3.0 the battery drains too fast. Almost twice as before.
Was getting noticeably worse battery life with this update, then my KFHD froze and bricked on reboot a few minutes ago.
Not sure if its related, but this update has been a heck of a headache. Will try recovering later, but really hate having to start over. Might ditch this as my primary and use my N7 instead.
From my Galaxy Note
I have the same problem .But hope to soon have CM10.1....Wait ....wait and wait
It seems that most of the problem I am having with battery drain is related to a service called com.nokia.odnp.service Is anyone familiar with what that does?

How did you manage to reroot after 7.3.0? I am having major issues with this!
Battery drain on my suddenly-no-longer-rooted 7.3.0 is not an issue

I had tried several methods and none worked for rerooting. I was stuck in sluggish mode and was trying to get rid of that when I ran across a post by redwes on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069117&page=48
I was thinking that it would just get me out of sluggish mode but it ended up rerooting my kindle, so you might try that.
In order to fix the above problem after updating to do Reset to factory defaults.
It seems that the problem with the battery drain, at least in my instance, is related to the location service. Kindle customer service had a look at my logs and suggested I try to turn off the location service to see if that helps. It seems to make a huge difference. It still needs to be fixed by amazon, but that seems to be where the issue lies in my case

The battery drain is associated with the app "com.nokia.odnp.service".
I spent a rather unproductive hour and a half with Amazon yesterday trying resolve why this app was included with the 7.3 update. I initially sent an email and got a rather deficient reply, then did a live chat and again got very poor response (both of those I communicated with did not have english as a first language and it made communication difficult at best). After some frustration I was kicked up to a higher level of assistance who was far better at communicating. This person insisted this was not a Amazon initiated app and the solution was to reset my Kindle hd to factory default...which I was unwilling to do.
Unless more folks complain directly to Amazon the battery drain associated with the app contained in the recent update (in spite of Amazon's denial) issue may go unresolved. The Gsam battery monitor (App sucker) identifies this as a kindle system app that cannot be accessed. The only way to stop this app & it's associated battery drain is to turn off the location based services.

5.0 battery drain and glitches

My phone was a beast before 5.0 with huge battery life and flawless performance. Now it will hang on screens and the battery is starting to remind me of the S4 Has anyone been able to track down why the battery is draining faster since this update.

my phone is more of a beast after the 5.0 update.. so there is nothing to track down to me.. battery issues seem to be limited to certain ppl and not everyone.. lots are having amazing battery life.. if its not working for you then try installing kk again maybe?

Not my first cruise here. This phone never even glitched before the 5.0, not the same performance or battery since so there is something to track down.
Any change after a factory reset of your phone?
Same issue here after 5.0. Battery drain and phone overheats after a few minutes of use. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
It seems that I am having issues as well. I have tracked the problem down to something in google play services and exchange email sync. My phone battery settings page shows that my phone is always awake.... If I do a factory reset it no longer happens. But as soon as I enable my exchange email it starts to do the same thing. My phone turns in to a nice hand warmer because it gets hot in my pocket and dies in 5 hours or so. Try a factory reset and see if it still is giving you bad battery life.
When I do the factory reset and try to do a restore of all my apps I get the same problem. When I do not restore and set my apps up from scratch it seems to work well until I add exchange email. Ill do some more testing and report back.
I dont use any exchange service just Gmail accounts and they are not on active sync, I have to swipe to sync them. Call me lazy but I dont want to Factory Reset unless its proven that its going to fix it.
Locked up so bad today Had to pull the battery for the first time since I bought it in December
No way to guarantee a FDR will fix your phone. I can tell you that it fixed mine. Battery life was terrible and the phone would get so hot it would go into cool down mode. After a FDR everything is as it should be on 5.0. IMO people should FDR after any system updates as large as the Lollipop update just to make sure all the KK files and data are gone so there are no conflicts.
Amen to what newman said i would factory reset before complaining about problems. I haven't updated to 5.0 yet because i really don't see a reason to just yet but i would definitely factory reset for peace of mind if i did.
I did a factory reset twice and still same problem. Battery drains and overheats. I find it weird that some phones have the problem and some don't.
But it definitely is a problem and I don't really "complain". Some people just ask for help which I don't think is the same as complaining. Like Bobby, I've been doing this for a while. I've been rooting and jacking with android phones since the og Droid.

Yeah i probably shouldn't of said "complained" didn't mean to offend anyone so sorry. Just curious after you factory reset did you give it a few hours to see if the battery drained/overheated before restoring/installing apps or anything else?

No worries man.
No I have not done that but I will try that and see what it does.
I too was a Rom swapper in a previous life but dont have time these days to keep up and needed a rock solid daily driver so I stayed stock on this phone. Please let me know if the reset does fix the issues. I hate to reformat all my stuff again for nothing. What a shame though to fugg up a great phone like this, you would think by now they should have it figured out so this doesn't happen. Or at least leak it early so the rom chefs could have a chance to find the flaws before the release

How did you figure that out.
I played around with s health a bit after loading lolipop, and noticed thats when it heated up on my phone so I froze it in titanium backup, but didn't restart. Apparently the pedometer was still keeping track of the step because it was still running. Restarted the phone and haven't had the issue since.

OnePlus 2 performance problems

Hi,
recentely I have noticed that my phone is running really slowly and the battery life was really bad. Well the first thing that came to my mind was to reflash the OS so I have wiped the phone clear and reinstalled Oxygen OS. The problem however persists with the phone being really slow, gets quite hot even with no apps running and the phone being in my pocket.
Does anyone have similar problems or preferably a solution. I have root and I was thinking maybe a different kernel may be a solution? I am not sure tho.

Problems with EMUI 8.0 stable update

Hi,
I'm having some problems with EMUI 8.0 on my BND-AL10 device.
1. Lag / Frame drops : While scrolling through Chrome new tab page, changing tabs and in Clash of Clans, I feel it is sluggish as if it is running at 20 fps. It does that everytime. Changing the resolution from FHD+ to HD+ also doesn't help. I have restarted the device multiple times.
2. Battery Life and Charging time : Battery Life has become significantly lower, it gives much lower SOT. Charging time has also increased a lot, it took around 4 hours while using the device.
Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone tried a factory reset after the update? Does factory reset solve the problem?
Thank you.

Check which build number you have with your current update.
If it's AL10 8.0.0.310, then rest assured, one more update is coming with build number ending in .320.
After updating from Nougat to Oreo, I can say that Oreo has improved the performance and battery life significantly in my device, yesterday I had 7H SOT while travelling. It's the best I've got in this device.
You can try a reset coupled with clearing cache from the recovery.
Agree with the charging time, it's about 3.5 to 4 hours charging time in my phone too.

I've read in Honor Clubs that the build number I mentioned (ending with .310) has some problems. You didn't mention it earlier so I assumed you might have that build.
I've the same build number as yours right now (ending in .320) and I'm not facing any problem instead I've noticed a significant increase in performance and battery life.
I guess a reset might solve the problem.

My phone overall feels better than Nougat (I have the Mate SE), but there's a few apps that seem like the performance has degraded...My Google photos is borderline unusable due to the lag....I don't know what they did, but I hope someone fixes the issue. The Stock gallery app is much slower too (Touch sensitivity)

Google Photos and the gallery app both run smoothly for me. My issue is only with browsers (mostly Chrome) and Clash of Clans (other games run fine).
BTW apps open faster in Oreo than Nougat for me.
I have Bnd-L24 8.0.0.330 and Oreo was installed today.
Android 7 was blazing fast on my phone but with Oreo I too feel it slower than it was. I'm going to give it a couple days. It might need some time to settle.

I haven't experienced any issues so far and updated yesterday. Face unlock seems to works well. Maybe not so well in poor lighting. No touch issues no lag. Plan on doing a factory rest tomorrow and starting fresh. Will test battery life and SOT. I use YouTube vanced and PIP mode works well. No connectivity issues with wifi. Bluetooth seems to connect faster than it did on Nougat. Over all really happy with the update. Just waiting for fireware images and warranty to be up before I root. With Nova Launcher no real need for custom rom although I kind of want to try LOS 15.1, have it on my Nexus 5 and love it. But so far the Honor 7x has been a solid phone.

But Stop It!
You're tempting me on this beautiful lazy Saturday afternoon to do my full wipe and install it before I move on to a Snapdragon 636 Engine device... And I don't want to do that.. I wanted to save that thrill for the new owner !
I had speed and smoothness issues after Oreo update on my Mate SE. Factory reset has fixed all issues and phone is smoother than it has ever been. Camera boots faster, scrolling smoother, longer battery life than before. If you're having issues, factory reset, you won't regret.
Update here.
After a day or so of letting Oreo update settle down, phone is running smoothly. So no complains here.
Great work honor. Feeling happy again

Major Issue After May 5 Security Patch

*Battery drain very fast even screen off
*Slow charging again
*Low sound in speakers
*Camera quality poor
*Over heating also when not in use
*Sometimes screen shows black/white
*Apps still crash
How much you have issue from these??
I can feel that battery can be a bit worse, my battery drains more when I watch YouTube, but no overheating or slow charging. Everything except battery life is good for me.
Yes, battery draining is huge....

Well, I didn't want to update since they updated the bootloader and now I can see that was a good choice. In your case I'd flash back the april build since it's stable.
The the May update for version 8.0 cause a wipe after unlocking the boot loader? Or is that only happening on 8.1 beta update?
Can someone clearly confirm, please?
what the fook do beta testers do
simple bootloader unlock will wipe data too.
From what i read here it is beetter not to update but wait....

Yes, it's always better to wait patiently and observe, not rush into something without informing about it.
No issues here, in fact it's the best build released yet imo
For me it's better than April one.
Zero issues so far. I did a clean install a couple of months ago because clearing my GSF to get Oreo quicker (I know, I know ) led to some issues. Have been enjoying this phone twice as much since. The clean install made my phone a very stable device once more and I've had zero updates with this and previous update so far
I dont know what you guys do to your phone, really.. Last May update up and running without ant issues (stock 8.0)
I canĀ“t notice any difference. Seems to be only a security patch.

Yup, Unlocking bootloader does wipe your data when in your May patch.
No issues here either, all running sweet as before.
Everything's fine for me. Let's not panic over one single report of issues.
To OP, I guess you've already tried to fully stop and restart the phone (not just hit restart button)? If this does not help, I know it's painful, but Hard Reset could solve your problem.
Last option is go to warranty to get it fixed.
