[GUIDE] Convert your HTC One into a dev edition - Get Sense updates faster! - One (M7) General

Looking to get the latest updates from HTC faster than the International LTE, GSM and American Carriers AT&T and T-Mobile variants, well here is a guide to help you convert your HTC One into a developer edition. I can confirm that it works with the European HSPA and LTE bands. Doing this will also update you directly to 5.0.2 Lollipop
Read This First:
You must be S-OFF
You must be HTCDev Unlocked
You must have CWM or TWRP recovery installed
You must charge your phone to AT LEAST 50%
You must know how to use ADB and Fastboot
You must have any KitKat or Lollipop firmware installed
Your SD Card will be WIPED, so make a backup of your files
This WILL NOT work on the CDMA HTC One
Even though this is 100% safe, I am not responsible if you break your phone
Part 1: Changing your CID and MID (Model ID)
Reboot into bootloader
Enter fastboot mode
Open a CMD window and type (without quotes) "fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
Then type (without quotes) "fastboot reboot-bootloader"
To confirm you have the above CID type in (without quotes) "fastboot getvar cid" or "fastboot oem readcid"
If it shows "cid: BS_US001" then you are ready to continue to the next step
Now you have to change your Model ID (MID) (Skip this if you have the AT&T or GPE variant), you now have to download this: MID Change tool
Now boot into Android and place the MID Change tool on your SD Card
Now reboot into recovery
Then find and flash the MID Change Tool
Once inside Aroma Installer you have to select the MID PN0712000
Then tap next and your MID will be changed
Part 2: Downloading and running the RUU
Firstly, download the RUU from here: RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.1540.7_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_420191_signed_2.exe
Now open the RUU file
Follow the steps in the RUU, accepting any agreements. Meanwhile make sure your phone is in Fastboot mode
Now let the RUU do its work and about 4-10 minuites later you will have a full Developer Edition HTC One (M7)
Please press the thanks button if this helped you

Thanks! But what's the difference? I mean the normal edition and this?

Well by normal, you mean the International version and the developer edition gets updates before anyone else
Heres how the updates go to variants from first to last
1. HTC One GPE > 2. HTC One Developer Edition/Unlocked Edition > 3. International HTC One > 4. Carrier Variants (Like EE in UK and Verizon in US)

Since the Lollipop Sense update is imminent, I have updated the thread with the latest RUU, the 4.4.3 Sense 6 RUU.

Hi there & thanks for the write-up! Thought I´d share my experience from following your guide.
At first try I thought I had bricked my device. It all started off good, but when I ran "fastboot reboot-bootloader" prior to executing the RUU, my device didn´t boot. No LED, no display, nothing. It was dead!
During the last year I´ve been going back & forth between different firmwares (GPE, Sense etc) and today I had apparently hit a dead end. The device showed typical symptoms of being hard bricked. After trying all kind of imagenable key combinations & gooling, I found dexter93´s [UNBRICK][BETA] HTC Unbricking Project http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770684
Ran the unbricking tool which recorgnized my device and started processing. When done I tried to power on the device without success. At this time I had givven up. But for some unknown reason I tried to get into fastboot mode once again. And to my surpise it worked!
Now I knew that it was possible to restore the device to some operation state. With that in mind, I went for a second try of converting it to dev edition. The procedure went fine until I started the RUU which abruptly crashed. I´m running Windows 8.1 x64. Turned out I needed to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29 to be able to successfully run the RUU.
After the RUU I rebooted into the new installation only to find out that my mobile network didn´t work! It suprised me since OP wrote that the release was supposed to work in Europe. After some more depressing thoughts of failure I realized the I had removed (as instructed) the SIM when running the HTC Unbrick Project tool. Reinserted the SIM and I was able to connect to my cellular network provider.
The guide well structured and easy to follow. One minor suggestion for improvement could be to alter step #5 in the second part from:
5. Then type (without quotes) "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip"
to:
5. Then type (without quotes) "fastboot flash zip 5.11.1540.9.zip"
Just a minor note. Thanks for the guide & keep up the good work!

I'm guessing ii don't need to run the change MID if my MID is already PN0712000? Or should I run it anyway?
Working for me. Thanks!

Was this before or after I posted the new guide, because with the new guide I came from GPE 5.11.1700.3 down to the developer edition 6.07.1540.2 without any problem, twice. Try this to unbrick your phone, use Ubuntu 14.04 and it should work without problems

I used the initial guide, and brought the device back to life using the tool you referenced.

impossible to root HELP ME PLEASE

To all devs out there ,im been trying to root the hero for a week now ,ive tried every guide going also the gold card with 10 different sd cards with no luck.the rom what ive got is the release 2.73.405.66 rom.it has the new nboot is thats why i cant flash.is there any way i can wipe all date and software so i will have nothing on the phone and then install an earlier rom, its just an idea as im starting to lose it with this fone.i hope someone can help me or do i have to wait for the official update from htc
with this rom version you need to create a goldcard and downgrade your rom before you can install a custom rom. if you have problems with the goldcard you should be more specific.
waiting for the update doesn't seem like the best idea, because it might take some until a security flaw is found that allows to root the rom when already installed on the phone. if you have the custom recovery image you will be able to install the (pre-rooted) update short time after it was released.
You should be able to use fastboot for this issue.
Search around the forums, (also http://hero.modaco.com) and read about it.
All you need is the fasboot tool, a usb cable and the "debugging mode" switched on at ur phone...
everytime i create the gold card and try to downgrade the rom it states boot error 140.i follow the guides very indepth i get the serial number from the sdcard than i reverse the string and then replace the first two numbers or letters with 2 zeros how can you tell when the goldcard is on the sdcard.when i replace the sdcard back in sdcard reader it states that the folder is empty.im quite clued up on winmo but android is giving me a headache
wouldn't the fastboot give you the "remote: not allowed" error?
anyway, you can try:
start your phone by holding back and pushing power, you should see three skating androids. put recovery image in the folder where your fastboot.exe is, open terminal and go to that folder and type:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.3.1.img
if that works report back.
for the goldcard i can't help, never did it.
at last im rooted thanks for for the help .the way i did
(with the phone in normal mode)
1) Connect your Hero via usb to your pc/mac/...
2) Open Command Prompt ->
Put in the following text ->
C:\Users\Username> cd\
C:\>cd android\tools\
C:\>android\tools>adb push recovery-RA-Hero-v1.5.3.1.img /sdcard/recovery-RA-Hero-v1.5.3.1.img

Getting exactly the same. Tried the goldcard method numerous times using 3 different cards and always get the bootloader 140 error. Tried the above with same errors... very frustrating!
Mine is a UK T-Mobile G2 with build number 2.73.110.26, any suggestions gratefully tried!
Edit: Finally managed to sort it. I was using "RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_1.76.405.1_R3_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe" - this didnt work. Once I found and tried RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe it all clicked into place!
Thanks for all the info provided on these forums, cheers!

Hi
I have tried making a goldcard, and installed via. the RUU shown here.. 405.5 .. but then I tried using Flashrec to get another recovery image, it failed making the first step...
So is my phone rooted or did something go wrong ?
the phone is still unfortunately not rooted. I would've tried the fastboot method

just curious but did anyone just try to flash the older version without bothering with the goldcard...i dun know what i did to my htc hero orange but when i was researching i was told i needed to downgrade to root. I tried to take a long shot and used htc sync and old orange ruu..and somehow it just downgraded itself.... i know it might not help but its a long shot!

Very similar story. I did make a goldcard but hadn't got as far as finding out how to extract the update.zip out of the RUU exe, in order to use it. I tried running the RUU to see what would happen & my Hero downgraded.

Have a Google Edition One? Look here before you do ANYTHING to it!

So it has been reported that GE HTC One's are shipping. We would like to get all the paritions dumped so that we can use the images to fully convert our normal Ones into full fledged Google Edition Ones.
Before you do ANYTHING with it (before you root, before you flash a recovery etc...) Follow these directions courtesy of cschmitt Found Here This will ensure we get all the partitions
I have pasted the steps below. This will help the community out greatly!
cschmitt said:
I have a windows command script that uses adb to dump and pull every partition from a One, excluding cache (meaningless) and userdata (to large).
He would need adb and fastboot on his computer, no need for S-off, since we are only reading partitions.
Generally the process would be:
Enable USB Developer options and USB debugging on phone.
Connect phone to usb, install drivers from zip folder if prompted.
Copy SuperSU-v1.41.zip to sd card.
Reboot into bootloader. (Power off, hold power on an vol-down.)
Open command prompt into \htconedump folder.
Unlock bootloader, fastboot oem unlock should do it.
Reboot back into bootloader (via hboot menu.)
From command prompt:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-m7.img (Take note we are not flashing recovery, just booting into it so we can root. If you flash the recovery we will not be able to get the stock GE recovery pulled)
Once TWRP boots, flash SuperSU-v1.41.zip via TWRP to root device.
Reboot back into system.
Run pullmmc01-37.cmd command script from a windows command prompt.
Zip up the dump directory containing all of the mmcblk0p??.bin files.
I've packaged everything up into a zip file containing ADB, fastboot, HTC drivers, superuser.zip, TWRP image, and the pullmmc01-37.cmd command script.
htconedump.zip"

Also make sure to take note of your CID in the bootloader and also report that in this thread. You can get this by running fastboot getvar all while in the bootloader. The MID and the CID will be listed. Please make note of both.
I would advise anyone doing it that they do it without fully setting up the phone because once you unlock the bootloader it will wipe your data. So boot into android and just skip through the whole set up process because you'll just have to do it again after you unlock the bootloader
EDIT: Got this info from the Dump thread on Android Central. Just need to confirm it's correct with someone who has the device
ro.product.name=m7_google
cid=GOOGL001
mid=PN0712000
cidlist=GOOGL001

We have the system and the boot.img but for us to do a full conversation we need the bootloader, the recovery etc.. Sure, we can all run the rom now but if we get ALL the partitions dumped we can essentially convert our normal ones into full fledged google editions (I think if we had just the bootloader and the recovery we would be ok)
Have you asked Mike?
we would need the 4.3 system dump

Mike used the same dump everyone has been using. It was only system and boot not the bootloader or recovery. The guy who did the dump flashed a custom recovery before he did the dump so we did not get the stock GE recovery which is needed if we want a full conversion and be able to get OTA's just like the GE One would get.

Yeah here is to wishing they ship with 4.3 lol
The idea here is not for us to be able to run the rom but to fully do a conversion. As of now we have the 4.2.2 rom and boot image. I have two ones and I want to fully convert one to a GE. I know others are interested in performing a full conversion as well. And if we do the full conversion when the 4.3 OTA drops we would get it as an OTA and not have to wait for other devs to package it all up for everyone

Ok. I assumed that, due to the delay in Mike releasing his GE rom, that he had perhaps acquired his own information.
If anybody lives in the viscinity of Old York City, struggling to dump the required information, I could offer the same service as you have for those near New York City........Highly unlikely I guess.

Hey! I remember you! Didn't you use one of my roms at one time(Either on the HTC View or GS3)? If I remember correctly you're also from NY?
This is a great idea. If not for the missing T-Mobile LTE band I would have bought the GE. I hope you get what you need. Would probably cure my Flashaholics disease too, if you're always up to date with the latest and greatest.

[Q] Droid Razr M not fully booting: Help Please

Hello,
Problem:
factory reset my Droid RAZR M with the hope to resolve in-call audio problems (very low ear piece volume at full). When I rebooted the phone the Welcome screen appeared asking for a language choice. Chose english US. The Message: "Please wait, This may take a few minutes" appeared with a spinning icon. But nothing else ever happens. The phone never moves beyond this selection.
I have android-sdk (Linux setup) installed on my computer in order to use the suite of tools like fastboot and adb. The tools work, in that I can see the phone, pull data, upload to the phone and even get a command shell on the phone. However in order for adb to recognize the phone I have to put the phone in "BT Tools" mode. In "AP fastboot" mode fastboot sees the phone. As far as I remember USB debugging was turned on.
I do not have a recovery image installed.
The phone has Kitkat 4.4.2 ver 183.46.10 and is rooted with TowelRoot. I just unlocked the bootloader today via motoapocalypse package. Status of the phone is unlocked Code 3
I also removed some unused apps - like NFL and a few other space and bandwidth consuming apps that I will never use.
I'd like to get this phone to work again. Is there any hope?
Please advise and thanks for reading.

[GUIDE][FAQ][DIY][KK] How to Root, Boot Unlock & More
Thanks for the pointer. I gather that RSD is a Windows based app. At the present time I do not have a Windows computer. So I took a shot at the job using fastboot, adb and all as found in the android-sdk. Did the steps as described in the flashing post. Now all I ever see is the "Bootloader unlocked warning message" and the phone never progresses beyond the warning. I disassembled the phone, to disconnect the battery -- hoping for a reset miracle. No change after reassembly. Given the latest state of the phone as described above, is there any chance of reviving this phone now that it's stuck at the bootloader warning?
(I read a post about a Motorola Factory Cable -- and if I understand the factory cable puts the phone in a special mode for flashing looking into this option).
I am out to learn and am not afraid of poking around -- so at this point I have no more to lose.
Would the Windows computer make the difference? Using linux mint atm.

You can try using SBF_FLASH or mFastboot-v2 (which has a linux version) to flash the system.img .
SOLVED: [Q] Droid Razr M not fully booting: Help Please
That worked. Thanks! So the difference between the SDK fastboot and the one in the link provided (mfastboot-V2): the linux-fastboot seems to be smarter about uploading the larger image files to the flashable device (guessing). I am sure I did "flashboot flash system system.img" with the flashboot util from the SDK.
@ATTACK do you have the source for that version of fastboot or patches? Would like to have a look.
Thanks again! Got an unlocked rooted working Droid RAZR M!

Your guess is correct, mfastboot allows you to flash larger system.img's that wont otherwise flash in fastboot.
As for sources... I have no idea who created mfastboot or where it came from. It's just one of those things that get's passed around the internet.

Well I'm happy to have the utility that works. Can thank you enough -- or the creators. Found it also on goggle code after a properly crafted search string. All this for an in-call audio problem that only worsened after I took the phone apart. Still works on speaker mode though so that's good enough -- at low volume. And I learned a few things. One interesting thing: The shell prompt got rewritten to say ${USER}@scorpion_mini/ after flashing the system.img. Pretty sure it only said android prior to re-flashing . And the getprop helper app is a new thing for me.
Feel like a kid all over again exploring this little device.

FIX HTC-U11☆corrupt☆relocked☆s-on☆

REPAIR HTC U11 - CORRUPT - RELOCKED - S_ON
______________________________________________
I run a phone repair shop,
Customer brought a HTC U11 in to repair,
was soft bricked with an attempted custom rom installation then relocked the bootloader without flashing a working OS to it,
The os version was there but when the device booted a message appeared the device is corrupt cannot be trusted and will not boot,
this tutorial is how I managed to revive the dead device please read below.
Device specs on this model were :

Fastboot oem readmid

Fastboot oem readcid
htc_039

when trying to unlock with provided original unlock_code.bin that was provided with the phone & returns not allowed on production build in bootloader, could not flash any stock recoveries or TWRP back to the device, also couldn't receive the unlock code
_____________________________________________
I used tried the following programs to flash :
•htc_fastboot.exe
•minimal adb and fastboot 1.7msi
•power shell on windows 8.1
•minimal adb & fastboot
•fastboot binaries from htc_dev.com
couldn't get anything to flash to the customers phone with any of these so dont bother.
____________________________________________
NOTE
I downloaded the OTA's & firmware from the google spreadsheet it had no file for the 2.33.710.9 section there the page it went to was 404 so I just downloaded all of the files with the same CID htc_039 in this case, so just download all relevant files with your matching CID main version shouldn't be an issue as it wasnt for me.
_____________________________________________
REPAIRING THE HTC U11
NOTE
☆Links are at the bottom of tutorial☆
#1 Go through the files in spreadsheet then download all with the same CID as you have even though the main versions might be different,
#2 try to flash them all with normal fastboot to see what is a signed or close to signed zip and what isnt, (you will know by the RUU errors you face anything but RUU security fail zip from USB command or RUU main version fail ) means it probably won't work but try anyway,
NOTE
I narrowed it down to a few but the one that did end up working was main version 1.11.710.5, but this main Verision was 2.33.710.9 ??? Dont ask me how it worked twice as it needed to be flushed first time it said but it did,
#4 Now the only flash tool that works for downloading to the device in RUU mode is the HTC 10 batch tool.
#5 Place the .zip into the "com" folder which is located where ever the batch tool is installed, in my case was C://Android/com
#6 Open the batch tool with administrator privledges,
select option 3 to open fastboot terminal with the purple screen
NOTE
when entered location of the terminal should be "example" C://android/com on the screen this is where you placed your RUU.zip file.
#7 boot U11 to download mode, with device off hold,
•Power
•Volume down
NOTE
plug the device into the computer & make sure drivers are installed properly and working.
#8 Type into the terminal "fastboot oem rebootRUU",
phone will reboot to RUU mode.
#9 type into terminal "fastboot flash zip <file_name.zip>
NOTE
do not add " " or < > into the command syntax simply drag and drop the file if you do not wish to type the entire filename out.
it flashed all 28 zips twice in my case as it needed to be flushed the first time, these same files would not work on any other fastboot terminal I would only ever receive RUU error zip from USB command or RUU error main version fail,
so there you go this helped me and now I hope it can help you all out with your broken U11 fix please enjoy and if this tutorial has helped you please dont forget to hit the thanks button

NOTES
when using the HTC 10 batch tool fastboot terminal you can use either standard "fastboot" syntax or the "htc_fastboot" syntax both work.
WINDOWS 10 USERS :
you MUST disable driver signature verification or you will not be able to install any drivers for your U11.

☆☆☆EDIT☆☆☆
I have noticed in download mode OS VERSION is 2.33.710.9 still,
But in the OS system settings in about phone & also HTC sync manager the OS VERSION is 1.03.710.7,
BUT it can also receive and install OTA updates up until 1.29.710.9 version before it will not install any higher updates,
So may be best to unlock the bootloader & flash a newer RUU version to your device to OTA update.
Very strange indeed but just thought I'd better add it.
Thanks
Mahalo OP for your posts. I'll give it a try. I got my phone back from HTC and it is still not operating correctly. I mistakenly relocked the phone, bricked it, sent it back to HTC and got it back the other day. When I turned it on and got the OTA update and the phone is rebooted, I got a corrupt OS error message and would not boot. Had to use Fastboot reboot to get the phone to boot up.

Hey mate,
No problem at all
Firstly though I would strongly suggest to flash the Unlock_code.bin you got from HTC dev to unlock your bootloader while you have a functional OS,
enable OEM unlock in developer settings then flash unlock code via bootloader or download mode, will save you the big headache of what I was going through when the bootloader is re locked only signed firmware can be flashed but if unlocked can flash unsigned firmware to the device,
I'd say HTC has not repaired the device correctly at all, I'd be pursuing reimbursement for any money you have paid to them,
not even I have had re corruption or anything works like brand new just my OS version in download mode is 2.33.710.9 but zip I flashed in RUU mode was 1.03.710.7 but let me OTA all the way up to 1.29.710.9 before it stopped installing them it downloads it just wont install it,
I'd switch OEM unlock on, flash unlock_code.bin to get unlocked bootloader will stop you from getting the corruption error, I'd also change the OS also just to see if HTC havent flushed something out of the device properly.
Just please whatever you do do not lock the bootloader without a functional OS
Hope this helps mate, if you need any more help dont hesitate
Thanks
Thank you for sharing you experience, I just want to clarify something here because I don't understand why someone want to relock their bootloader
- For warranty ? it will show up as re-locked so they know you did something anyway
- For OTA ? You can still get OTA on unlocked bootloader. Just restore your untouched system image backup and original reovery or flash RUU then apply the OTAs
If for some reason someone still wants to relock the bootloader you must flash the exact correct RUU first to restore your original system and recovery!
I ended up using the SD card method to reflash the stock OS to my bricked phone. I tried using ADB but I was not getting anywhere. Finally I noticed that when I attempted to flash the latest RUU zip file using the SD card method the process got to a point where it almost completed but there was a couple error messages. So I decided to flash a earlier OS and that worked! The phone booted right up. I still was a bit cynical that the phone wasn't completely out of the woods so I did the process of updating the OS via the software update menu. The phone did take the two earlier OS updates and finally was updated to the latest OS and booted up without any issues. Awesome.

No problem mate ,
I'm not sure why,
but the customer locked his bootloader before having a workable OS, he had a viper rom with TWRP on it & from what he told me he wanted the oreo bootloader and modem so tried to flash a firmware package that did not flash, but did not take a nandroid backup prior with TWRP then locked the bootloader allowing only signed firmware to be flashed, dont asky me why lol, as even re locking the bootloader it stills shows as modified in bootloader mode, possibly he thought that it would go away if he re locked it I cant be certain he wasnt to sure what he did,
I also had to re lock the bootloader after unlocking it to receive the OTA Updates from 1.03 - 1.29 as they wouldnt install they would download but not install as soon as I re locked it again I could OTA all the way up to 1.29.710.9 before the same would download but not install,
But in my personal reference to everyone you would be better of keeping the BL unlocked your device wont corrupt
As for the re lock of the bootloader snd the exact ruu version as mentioned in the post OS this was corrupted and would not boot, had no recovery only fastboot, download & RUU , could not flash token or receive unlock code, main version on device was showing version 2.33.710.9 as oreo firmware but ruu that I got to successfully flash with the HTC 10 batch tool was nougat 1.03.710.5, which was also giving me RUU error main version in normal and HTC fastboot but same file worked in the batch tool fastboot with or without htc-fastboot syntax I spent 3 weeks tinkering the batch tool is the only fastboot terminal that will flash to the device with a relocked BL and S-ON not even the HTC fastboot.exe would , main versions and SDK were both diff and it definitely works I recreated and flashed the device over and over again just to be sure before originally posting

Have to use fastboot to flash device, or sd card,
Fastboot is diff from adb, but glad everything is working well now for you mate and you shouldn't hopefully have anymore problems with it

My first mistake was that I DIDN'T RESEARCH AND READ BEFORE I DID ANYTHING. I was a bit perturbed when the OTA update nag screen was coming up so often that I wanted it to go away. Well now I know better that relocking the phone was not the route to go in receiving the OTA update. I should have just calmed down and read and researched more before I shipped off the phone to HTC for 5 weeks for nothing cause they didn't do anything to the phone.

Haha patience probably not lol I'm surprised the phone ever started working again after some of the things it got called , no I'm just persistent in everything I do if I cant repair it I make it my goal to repair it ,
That's what I explained to the customer also never lock a bootloader when they system doesn't function as it should only bad things can happen,
I kept getting the OTA notification pop up to but you cant turn it off on HTC like you can with Samsung
I just flashed oreo and kept BL unlocked and no problems again so far
But it does pay off to read that is very true, I learnt the hard way when I first started out with mobiles I had a brand new S3 when they just came out and ended up flashing an S2 kernel to it and literally burnt the touch controller out on the board and made the touch non functional, I've always read up on everything ever since before attempting repair modification or customisation and havent gone wrong since pretty much,
Speaking of HTC did they charge you a fee to supposedly "repair" your device, as I could tell just from what you mentioned something wasnt flushed right in it, which makes you entitled to a refund, I'd file a dispute with them for the work order and reimbursement on the postage and what not as to be honest I've even been all over HTC websites in aus and America and spoken to they're tech support also (usless might i add) even they state that sometimes they cannot even fix this exact issue, and they charge more for the fact the bootloader is modified to repair them,

Aloha M. Fortunately HTC has didn't charge me anything. The frustrating thing is that they didn't include with my phone documentation on what they supposedly had done to the phone. Obviously they were able to get the phone to boot up at least once. But it seems like they didn't even test the phone so that it would consistently boot up. Flashing the latest OS update wouldn't have taken much time. I really like HTC phones and their GUI but their customer service SUCKS donkey balls.
Aloha!

Aloha Matty. No, HTC didn't charge me for "no services rendered". They were able to get the phone to boot but they didn't make sure that all issues was completely resolved. They just placed the phone in a shipping box and sent it back to me with no documentation to what they did to the phone. BTW today makes a whole day since I was able to get my phone working and rooted. I've got all the main apps I normally use installed and signed on. So far so good. I'm now working on my U12+ and tweaking that phone as I notice the battery life is not as good as the U11.

That's great mate, glad it didnt cost you anything then, apart from the 5 week wait though that must have been terrible,
I would have thought they would package it up a bit better but then again they have never been good for service,
Anyhow everything must still be working well then and all issues seem to be gone, , I'm yet to receive a U12 into my work for repair but I do agree battery is pretty good on the U11 I can charge it and it last me 2 days almost before I have to charge it again, but then again I've had it open aswell and the battery takes up 3/4 of the phone under the hood it's a very big battery even in actual size,
Anymore problems with U11 or any other makes and models feel free to contact me through pm or post if you need help and I'll get back as soon as I can
Thanks Matty. All the best!

So, I think I'm going to have to try this. I've been having some weird issues with my phone. It's a Sprint version that I'm using on Tmobile. My bootloader is unlocked and I have S-on.
So here's a rundown of a couple issues I'm having. I've read up on the SD card issue and mine still says corrupt even when I reformat it with a PC or another phone. I bought a brand new card and it still doesn't work.
I cannot boot to recovery at all (assuming it's because of the lack of SD card) and oddly enough I can not power down my phone or reboot it when I'm anywhere past the lock screen. When I'm at the lock screen I AM able to reboot or power down.

Hey mate,
Yeah somethings going wrong with your OS
What version of android is it using ? 7.0 or 8.0,
As the bootloader is unlocked please KEEP it unlocked dont relock it under any circumstances if relocked only a very specific version of firmware can be reflashed and if flash fail the device will be bricked completely until the correct RUU is flashed
S-ON shouldnt be a problem when BL is unlocked and you can flash most firmwares that match your HTC u11 MID & CID
Recovery should boot without an SD card so if say recovery is corrupted aswell as part of the system is also,
What you need to do is plug it into the PC and using fastboot type the command,
fastboot getvar mid
fastboot getvar cid
with the device in download mode if you can,
If it wont boot to download mode with the button combination
Turn USB debugging on & connect to pc now your going to be using adb
Type this command to try and reboot to download mode to use the fastboot command to obtain your device info
adb oem reboot-download
Or adb reboot-download
It should reboot you to download mode now where you can obtain the necessary info with the fastboot getvar command,
Once you have that info head over to the google spread sheet and download the firmwares that match your MID & CID and then use the tutorial one page 1 to flash the phone,
Remember do not lock BL under any circumstances bad things will happen if the flash goes wrong.

I had an nearly similar problem with my SD Card it always was seen corrupt from the system even after formating the SD Card. Then I did a factory reset, that did the trick for me.
It may take some time to set up the phone again, but for me it was the only way to make it reusable again.
Try to use different hardkey combinations, there are more then one to get into bootloader or downloadmode and even with the ADB commands you can treat your device to do what you want!
I hope this will help you.
So the links that I posted don't work because I don't have enough posts. I have factory reset the phone a few times in an attempt to get things working properly again. Here's the info since I can't put up the screenshots:

Have you tried the htc_fastboot command syntax mentioned in the tutorial also with the batch tool ? If so and its still not working Its 100% to do with the zip your trying to flash id say it contains header errors,
Has it given you an error somewhere along the lines of "
a terrible mishap happened with the original ret lens 0" thats another common error to receive to indicate that your .zip is no good,
Try another .zip that matches your PID & CID dont worry about the main version the htc batch tool fastboot command promt for bypasses bootloader security to allow rollback of the bootloader,
I successfully took mine back to nougat from oreo with a locked bootloader which couldnt be re unlocked due to all killswitches being on & S-ON, no recovery or working OS, only download, bootloader & RUU mode,
Deffo the .zip trust me sorry for the late reply aswell didnt get notification but i hope this helps you out a bit.

OnePlus 6T (T-Mobile)

It all started when I decided to de-google my phone and use Lineage OS. I jumped down the rabbit hole and managed to unlock my bootloader by submitting request to OnePlus and waiting for the email with the unlock_code.bin file, then using that to unlock. I am working on Linux Mint with adb and fastboot installed. I can get to bootloader screen on the phone and I can send commands to it but I'm not sure what to do next. I attempted to boot the latest TWRP.img and it appears to work but then I get a QUALCOMM Dump Mode error.
This is a great phone and I hope I've not ruined it so I will wait patiently to see if anyone can bail me out. Meanwhile I'm using this crappy LG K7 to get me by for now. Thanks for your time if you read this post.
I think you need to start by converting it to an international 6t. Been a long time since I did mine but this should be the right place to start

Did you open the MSM tool? Connect your phone after the tool is open with it powered off. Then hold down all the buttons. Might take a couple tries to get it right. It doesn't need to be in fastboot to connect. I believe the screen stays black. Good luck

You need to update to 10 then 11. Install the Oxygen Updater app. It will choose the correct version to install.
