Gameloft games are only optimised for Adreno and Mali, not PowerVR.
GTA SA lags with almost all android devices

Man, but this game no lag in stock tw 4.3 and cm11 even i used only 2 core clocked in 1.200ghz.. maybe this bug only in i9500 tw 4.4.2 ?

Probably Samsung's aggressive thermal throttling which was introduced with 4.4.2.
BTW, how on earth did you get games to only run on 2 of the 4 low power A7 cores?

No, the A15s run at 1.6Ghz... which is what I am rather concerned about.
Because a normally functioning phone should utilise all cores and speeds should be fluctuating above 1.2Ghz in for graphically intensive games in your case.
The i9100 has a optimised Mali 400 GPU which should run GTA better than most Adreno or PowerVR of that gen.
It is also worth noting that the SGS2 is running at a awfully lot lower resolution at 800*480 compared to 1920*1080 which will require a lot more processing power than the S2 to run those games at similar settings.
Both GPU and CPU are important.

Have you tried forcing it to run at 1600Mhz in settings and perhaps lock your GPU clock as well?

overclock processor to maybe 1.4ghz..
and how do u guys adjust your gpu settings..? i mean different steps..and step thresholds as well as the gpu step counts..
also what governer do u use ?

What about your games performance? You have @ low framerate?

GPU:

Well that gives nearly the same gaming performance as SGS3
2-4FPS less, but who cares

lol that is quite extreme..but will give it a try..
Anyway my main concerns are some tiny stutters and lags in normal games
And some massive fps drops in demanding and open world games like gta3, gangstar rio city, backstab etc..
thanks

Gangstar Rio lagged as hell on my SGS2, Because of very bad optimization's.

Well I've never had to OVERCLOCK to get more performance from my phone. The GPU is more than enough to handle whats out there and don't see the need to turn up the juice. 9/10 if the game lags its due to the kernel or the rom. 1.4ghz on the cpu and 400mhz on the gpu + are unnecessary IMO.

Yup i know..for most apps and day to day life..it runs everything fine enough..
However i do see some lags and fps drops in demanding games..please i am not talking bout the temple run-angry birds type of games..
Thats why waned to know few settings being used by users to increase some fps and use my device to maximum potential..
Also any one has any idea bout a really stable rom-kernel combo that performs really good with 3d games..? I have heard the roms like CM9/RR etc give bad 3d performance(even though they are quite faster!!)
thanks

S3 odd finding or placebo?

So, trying to improve my battery life I set my CPU to dual core, and for some strange reason, everything runs smoother now, from the interface to games.
Specially Contract Killers 2 and Dark Knight Rises. This games were a pain to play since I kept getting terrible stutter and lag and could only get good steady smooth performance overclocked which pretty much beats the whole quadcore CPU on the S3 if my gf stock S2 can run all this better than my S3.
I'm running Wanamlite Jellybean deodexed DLJ2 rooted with Siyah Kernel. At the moment not overclocked.
Only reason I can come up with is that most apps are optimized for dualcore CPU's since quadcore is not yet the standard.
Has anyone experience something similar to this or wants to try this out?
BTW, battery life hasn't improved much.
Samsung sure made a coding mess with Jelly Bean.
How did you set the device to dual-core ?

Stweaks when your running Siyah kernel.
Also you can remove lag from some games if you go to developer options and check "force GPU rendering"

I have been running Dual-Core mode as well for 2 weeks now, as far as I can see it's just as smooth as Quad Core mode. At least in the following:
-General UI (homescreen, scrolling trough settings)
-Whatsapp, Facebook, Other apps
-Simple games like Jetpack Joyride
I haven't tested heavy games though. Reptide GP is smooth, that's kind off a heavy game.
Battery wise I haven't noticed any big difference either between dual and quad core mode. But neither performance wise, which is weird since it makes the quad core processor seem useless.
Stock CPU & GPU frequency's, undervolted CPU -100mV and GPU -50mV.

[Q] How to overclock gpu?

Hey!
My question is actually in the thread.. My brand new nexus 10 seems to be lagging in playing 3d games. That's why I was wondering if I could overclcock the house a bit to make the whole thing smoother Thanks a lot!

It's lagging due to thermal throttling not GPU speed overclocking may make it worse

I don't own one but there are kernels that do it, look in development section
PS if I remember right I think the thermal throttle point is kinda low on the nexus 10

Overclocking isn't going to help. Try it if you want but you're just going to end up with more lag.
You need to underclock the CPU, undervolt the CPU and GPU, and also slightly raise the thermal throttle temperature to about 90 (from the stock 80).

Try to under volt as much as you can and I find even 1.2ghz more than sufficient. 1.5ghz might make you throttle.
This Exynos chip is a serious powerhouse.

[Q] Octa-core Samsung Galaxy S4 caught cheating on GPU benchmarks

Octa-core Samsung Galaxy S4 caught cheating on GPU benchmarks. The real GPU Clock is 480MHz. When using benchmark, the Galaxy S4 GPU start ticking at 532MHz and continues to do so until you exit the app.
So, my question is,
How can we overclock our GPU to 532Mhz?
Maybe the devs can make the GPU always 532Mhz on Custom Rom like Cyanogenmod Rom to get the best performance?
The real GPU clock is 544MHz.

I read the article somewhere (can't give you the link because I'm new user), the real GPU is 480MHz. It only clock to 544MHz when you're running Benchmark tool such as 'Antutu Benchmark'. But after you exit the benchmark app, The GPU will clock to 480Mhz for battery saving. It will never use 544Mhz unless you're running benchmark app.

I've flashed perseus kernel. I see that the GPU can be overclock to 700MHz.
Is there any problem/risk for my phone to damage if I overclock the GPU too much ? 700MHz ?

from my prespective, id'nt touch that ,since overclocking GPU eats up battery like crazy ,id only overclock it if need it for some big apps or games that lags on default gpu settings but i never had kinda issues so i just leave it on default..

Have you tried custom kernel? or GameTuner from PlayStore, change resolution and will be good
Well you have 2 options:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-gltools-1-29-t2828630
this one is an per app graphics config. You can choose witch app to run on what resolution and you can set filters like MSAA and antistropic filtering and such.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomone.resolution_changer&hl=nl
2nd one changes the resolution of your whole system to gain more framerate but things may crash like touchwiz and keyboard.
I my self use GLtools the most and i'm pretty happy with the functionality.
Offcourse you need ROOT for both of these apps.

Just use the Performance governor when you are gaming, for both GPU and CPU, and try to increase the freq of GPU if needed.

Snapdragon version is bad for gaming, no way around it, but since you are still on lollipop, you should install Xposed & wanam xposed module & disabe dvfs, it used to work for me, but ever since I updated to marshmallow, I am out of luck since xposed is not working now
