I flashed the Dutch version with Kies. Not seeing any improvements. Only some random reboots when i return back to the home screen.

Flashed it with Odin 3.09 [AP]. Same random reboots as well. Just before rebooting, screen freezes. Will monitor it. If it persist i will go back to the version before.
And also no significant changes noticed.
Btw, are you rooted?
Edit
Well did monitor it for about one day, and the auto-reboots after screenfreezing continue. Reverted back to the previous FW and the problem is solved
So i think, in any way, the Dutch FW shouldn't be flashed.

S4 reboot problem

Hi I received my s4 today but as soon as the screen goes black from none use it just reboots, if I use it its fine but as soon as I put it down for 30 seconds and the screen goes black it reboots. Is it a setting I'm missing or a faulty phone, sorry for the noob question but I'm along time apple user thanks for any help.
At first glance, it sounds like a defective phone that should be returned promptly. However, we should make sure that you are sure you're doing things right. You're not holding the power button down at all, correct? (just pressing it?) And you're saying that after it sleeps, it simply reboots, or it reboots when you try to wake it up?
First try messing with the screen timeout/sleep settings.. I think the default is 2 minutes anyway, so I don't see why it would reset after 30sec.
Next, the battery is charged, right?
Next, try pulling the battery and putting it back in.
Next, try a data format / factory reset. If you return the phone, you'll be forced to do this anyway, so it's worth a shot.
After that, you've got me. Anyone else?

Thanks I have tried all the above but it's still the same, I've had to phone for a replacement but due to limited stock I've got to wait three weeks. Is there any way I can download the original firmware and reflash it.

Yeah, that doesn't sound good and certainly isn't the user experience you are looking for in a brand new flagship phone you dropped a pretty penny on. You could try bringing it into the retail store purchased and see if they can do a swap there. If there are more in stock it shouldn't be an issue. I assume you had it pre-ordered online

Samsung has just released the German version of the Firmware (GT-I9505) for kies so hopefully the US AT&T (i337) will be released soon. Check SamMobile's site for firmware updates and to see if they available via kies yet.
Have you tried just doing a factory data reset? You can do it through settings or even stock Samsung recovery I think.
Hi. Since 27th i have the same problem. The phone reboots sporadic. After factoryreset everything ok but tonight the same problem occured again.
Any solution?
Thanks!

If you are not rooted then I would first look at what you may have installed since you got the phone. If you have not installed anything, have not rooted, have not frozen any apps, etc. then I would get in line for a replacement asap.

Do a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it, hope you have a warranty cause it sounds faulty.

[Q] Omega Rom - screen rotation broken?

So, here i am, proudly owning a Galaxy S4 i9505.
I'm not really new to flashing, cooking and such stuff since i owned my sensation for 3 days
So i rooted my S4, decided to try this Omega Rom. All seems to be fine, till now when i realised that the auto-rotation is broken.
It is active in settings and i tried multiple launchers (that crappy TouchWiz thing, Nova and ADW).
Yes i activated it also in the launchers settings but nothing happend.
Restarted, took out battery, waited for a couple of seconds, nothing.
Is it a problem with the rom or maybe something went wrong during the flash process or is my sensor broken?
I thought i ask before trying go back to stock.
And dont blame me for this crappy **** of english.
Ok it seems that no sensor is working at all

And now i have the problem that every VD2 firmware just gets me The SIM CSC which is a provider from Slovenian. Just curios things going on there. (+ no Vodafone apps installed)

I went back to stock and tried a couple of original VD2 firmwares for Germany.
The first 5 i tried were located to Slowenia with the CSC: SIM. Kies told me that.
So i couldnt get updates OTA and from Kies.
Then i simple debranded my phone, and flashed the DBT firmware. All was fine. Updates working.
I tried another Vodafone Rom and now i got the Vodafone apps and the CSC: DBT???
So no updates OTA and with Kies.
I need to fix this and go back to CSC: VD2 because a couple of sensors are broken (warranty).

I have now flashed this new firmware N915FYXXU1DPI3, it too early to tell if it resolves any of the issues of the previous firmware....
What I can tell you at the moment is that the phone seems to be getting hot, but not sure if this is because the ROM is settling down....
Marshmallow update has been an absolute disaster....

Okay since my last post and the new firmware has settled down it still does the same thing, random soft reboots, I also have an intermittent problem with bluetooth, it seems to loose where it's up to and then speeds the song up to catch up with what I think is the time stamp....also when using the camera app sometimes whe taking a photo the phone shuts down and I have to pull the battery to restart it.
Same problems....I am at the point of selling this phone now as it becoming unusable for me.
Whats also more annoying is recently I flashed my NOTE2 with a new Rom and my S4 with Nugget, both are way more responsive then the Note Edge
Feeling disillusioned...

I see your point, but since I have returned to 5.1.1 I am really happy with this phone. And with my old Note 10.1 LTE it was the same: No support, no updates, and after flashing a custom rom it is again my dayly driver for games, work and movies. Love the Note family although Samsung really works hard on destroiing their reputation on it. So, I will stay with my note and 5.1.1.
Thnx for testing!

Flash 3.5.7 firmware?

Is safe flash 3.5.7 firmware to avoid random reboots on custom ROM?
I'm not having issues with IMEI or signal drops, but I'm having random reboots.
I read few people flashed it and random reboots have gone.

Do you care about voLTE ? If not, you could go back to 3.0.x - 3.1 firmware: I flashed too the newest firmware and experienced random reboots. I reflashed 3.1 stock ROM (so with 3.1 firmware) and now all is good.

Do you know if flashing 3.0.x or 3.1.x fixes random shut offs, not just reboots? As in, my phone will sometimes randomly not want to wake from sleep and I'm forced to force reboot. Happens at least once a day, and I wouldn't classify this as a random reboot since it doesn't reboot by itself.

I haven't tried, but I most certainly can. How would I go about doing that?
I also have reason to believe that it could also be a memory leak of some sort, or the battery begins to fail, as usually when I'm forced to reboot it I lose anywhere from 5-30% of battery life.

So my device did the black screen thing again. I plugged it into my computer to see if it would be recognized. It pops up us "QUSB_BULK" which a quick Google search seems to indicate that the device is bricked; however, this is obviously not the case.

No, not an OTA. I have dirty flashed serveral different firmware versions. No problems with installing them.

The firmware version on the phone settings wouldn't change? It's still 3.5.6 , not sure if that flash was successful, it did take a while to boot up though

3.5.6 is the rom version.
Flashing firmware from another version won't change this.
The only indication you'll get is that the baseband version will change (but not always as some of the firmwares have the same baseband version).

Was it from carrier or unlocked?

Same. This may be a stupid question but does anybody know whether the phone needs to be unlocked to receive updates if flashing away from carrier firmware?

Ah OK - So the only differences between us currently is the original carrier (EE for me) and the fact that your phone was unlocked prior to flashing.
Strange though. I thought on the S7 I typically saw the OTAs before they made an appearance on sammobile.

It was lock to UK AT&T and unlocked with code.. But I don't know why is that a problem?
Since the firmware stated improve on wireless charging stability, anyone who is charging using wireless charger still encountered stop charging issue when temperature more 40°C?
Update: OK, just installed & try, still the same **** & Samsung didn't fixed it. I'm so disappointed.
Has anybody who's flashed from carrier to stock firmware been offered the OTA?
