Hello guys, I am new to android. Can anyone guide me to flashing roms and changing the stock home screen tab? What must have apps do I need?
To change your home you don't need to flash anything. Just install your new launcher (LauncherPro, ADW, Zeam Lancher etc etc), press the home key, select your new launcher and if you are satisfied with it, next time when you press home mark the "default" checkbox as well.

How about those icons on the top right corner? How do i change those?
Those are parts of base OS and that requires rooting, flashing s-off bootloader and many more things. I never went so deep in customizing, so i leave the answer to someone more knowledgeable in this area.

i have a new galaxy s4 comes with 4.3 android.
i have rooted and running philz cwm.
i have tried flashed nishlight and arrow rom.
but same problem persist.
the problem is when it is boot up.
all running fine but after the screen time out or i tried to lock the screen.
i cant wake it up.
when i press the power button the screen wont turn up and left only the menu and back light turn up, the screen goes blank.
actually i have 1 galaxy s4 also but the other one is comes with 4.2.2 android only.
and i have it running arrow rom or nishlight rom with no trouble at all.
any suggestion how to overcome it?

even when it is still at the front of choosing language and accessibility start up menu.
it giving such a problem.
i wondering if it is locked bootloader or what it is?
anything goes with efs folder may be?
but when i revert back to original mj5 firmware it running smoothly, i rooted it and still goes with philz touch cwm.
i wondering y my another galaxy s4 dint have such a problem, i have run Legend, cobra, arrow, and nishlight rom on it without problem at all.

Great ROM
Hey guys, new to the forum. The best ROM I tried so far, took a while to get used to the many features that this rom offers, but is fast and stable, never had any problems with it. Though you need some basic experience to customize you phone using Phoenix rom, you'll end up with a device more efficient and great to use. I'd like to ask you one thing about the Ultra power saving feature (by the way is a great feature, it makes the phone battery in standby extremely efficient), is there any possibility to schedule this feature for example at night? It would be great to set it automatically between custom hours. I was impressed about how low consumption the phone has with this feature on. In my case during sleep, after 8-9 hours the battery percentage remained the same. Thanks and keep up the good work !

I've searched several threads for this one and could not find the answer, so I hope someone can help. I've got the Phoenix ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349584 and it works great! The only issue I am facing since I got the ROM is that I do not receive notifications regularly when using data. I only get them once in a while. As soon as I switch to Wi-Fi though, I am flooded with messages. I have checked and wanted to make sure that background data was not restricted, but when I got there I realized this option was not clickable. It's there but I don't seem to have a choice. Is there a way I can get this one active or is there a way I can fix the issue? Anyone faced same issue?
Flashlight issue

Regarding the flashlight issue mentioned by several users, I think I have it too. It has something to do with turning the flashlight on from the power menu. Steps to reproduce:
1. Open power menu and turn on Flashlight
2. Open notification toggles. Bug: flashlight toggle is off even though flashlight is still on
3. Turn on flashlight from toggle (now flashlight is still on and the toggle is on too)
4. Turn off flashlight from toggle. Bug: toggle is off but flashlight is still on (it can only be turned off from power menu)
The torchlight app behaves the same as flashlight toggle when flashlight has been turned on from power menu
Funny stuff to try: turn on flashlight from toggle and then turn it on from power menu. The flashlight intensity diminishes! Turn off the flashlight from power menu and it's still on, but back to high intensity. Turn it off from toggle first instead of power menu and the flashlight remains the power menu one.
It seems like the flashlight from toggle/torchlight app and the flashlight from power menu are 2 different things. And that the power menu one has precedence over the toggle/torchlight app one.

I have a SPH-720 on Sprint and would love to get a couple of things fixed on my phone with this ROM. I read the first 300+ posts, then read the last 10 pages of posts and I don't see anyone else having this issue. So I wondered if someone here could help. Here is what I have done so far
1. Installed v10 ROM
2. No 3G or LTE data, WIFI worked fine
3. Flash stock NG2 KERNEL for Sprint SPH-720
4. Lost ROOT somehow in the process installing new kernel
5. Tried to flash SuperSu.zip file to get ROOT back no go, tried Towel Root method but said it was an unsupport device
6. Couldn't find out where to enter in APN settins. I went inside the Settings/Mobile Networks but there wasn't an APN setting, so I installed a third party app called Change APN
7. Gained carrier data 3g & LTE after entering APN settings for Sprint
8. The only other issue I have found is I can't send text messages but I can recieve them just fine
I am wondering first how to get root back, I flashed the SuperSu.zip file in TWRP but I don't have root after reboot. I thought about flashing the v10 ROM zip again but then I would have to put the stock kernel and then fix APN settings again.
The other issue I have is sending text messages. I have tried other SMS apps and none can send, only receive. Same with Google Hangouts, I can receive but not send.
Is there something I am missing? I am not a experience ROM builder, but I have customized my phones for years. I am interested in trying to get a ROM for one carrier to work on Sprint, and I have a bit to learn still. Besides these two issues the ROM is awesome and for me it actually is worth it to stay on it even with these issues.
I am open to trying anything, even erasing everything and trying something new.
I cannot install V10

I have V9.4 on my Samsung S4, I have downloaded new version V10. When I am trying to install it, everything is ok, I choose what I want to install but there is a problem in last point of installation. When I push INSTALL, after just ONE second it is done and there is written than V10 was installed and phone ask me to reboot. But offcourse It is not installed and everything is same as before installation.

Been using the Rom for almost a week and so far the experience is great the performance of the phone even with touch wiz is superb the battery life is also better. Would just like to post this short feedback and show my thanks to tamirda for the great rom.
I just have one issue with the car mode always poping up I might have disabled it incorrectly still trying to check on it.

im coming from GE 45. i used CWM and philz recovery but im stuck in samsung logo and not going anywhere. i thought it was an aroma issue and tried to install the ROM again without wipe but same thing happens.. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
i have a problem with my s4 sprint.
i don't know is rom problem or physical, menu and the back key sometimes are working sometimes no, not responding well, i have tried many stock and custom rom but nothing, for almost a 9 month i have used this rom Echoe V29 Aroma& V29.1S5 UPSM for Verizon everything was working OK, install lollipop rom and menu and back key are not working(responding well), restore to Echoe rom but tha same problem menu and back key are not working. i don't know what to do because sometimes they are working sometimes no (No responding well).
for example when i press menu key is not showing the menu but it takes double touch and it shows google search.

hey,my grand prime has a lot of lag when i press the multitasking button,i wait 3-4 secobs until the cards show up. Any idea of what can i do,maybe keep the service in the memory active forever? Can i change to a kk style multitasker? The home button does the same thing,it hangs and i need to press 3-4 times to get home. Lollipop did nothing but bad to this phone,i might go back to kitkat. Any ideas? Thanks.
Mine does the same way like yours. I have sm-g530fz updated to lollipop 5.0.1. I have a friend with 531 version and 5.1.1. and it seems like his phone has a lot better response to the same tasks...

I have a g530fz.. It acts the same way.
I downgraded to KitKat, but there was no big difference.
Under hard multitasking, it keeps lagging, so I reinstalled a deodexed lollipop ROM cause it looks better and to get xposed modules, the lag is always present
I used to have the same problems as you but I found some sort outs which you can do.
Root your phone.
Debloat the ROM as much as it stays stable.
Wipe the data nd caches, factory reset it.
Now boot up nd set up your phone.
After that install an app L-Speed from Playstore nd set the tweaks as you want.
Voila! Xposed always makes the Samsung Lollipop slow but still if you want to use you can use it without a deodex rom. Deodex rom is also slow most of the times.
