[tutorial] partitioning sdcard via PARTED MAGIC & enabling data2sd

are you low on internal space ?? need data2sd on your android to extended your internal memory.. but MAD TEAM is not working ?? but u need let do it manually?? some people asked me for a tutorial for partitioning their sd.. so i create it & am sharing it..
well 1st of all get a ext4 supporting kernel.. cause data2sd needs it.. so make sure you hav it , then go with my procedure..!! otherwise u guys will f*** my ass later..
*tutorial to make ext4 (& swap) partition*
1st of all i will advise you to backup your sd card..!!
then, i m not responsible if you damage your sd acrd..!! (all says , so i m saying too.. )
now 1st thing u have to do is download parted magic livecd package iso ..
download them from there Official site or download.com ..
burn the downloaded iso to a blank cd by any cd/dvd burning tool..!!
now run that burnt live cd from ur cd-rom/dvd-rom ...
"run it from ram"
then let it do its work & after ~5mins u will reach on a screen like this..

now you will have a partitioned sdcard..!! restart ur computer..!! put your sd back to your sg3...!!
*enabling data2sd*
if u have a rom with data2sd support .. then skip it, u are ready to go..
download MIZCH's datasd from here .. put the data2sd.sh at the root of your sdcard..!! then in adb command or in terminal emulator type this..

sh /mnt/sdcard/data2sd.sh
reboot
every time wait for the hash sign (#) to enter the next line..
now u will have data2sd enabled on your android..!!

well i have a doubt that if we are using ext4 partion for internal memory than where does the actual internal memory used up..??
as i just flashed apocalypse beta 3 mine internal memory is shown zero ...
though i am creating the ext4 partion now

Tried teh live cd ... but it aint working good for me ...
Guess problem with teh monitor settings ...
Teh icons which are in teh left (as shown in teh screenshot) are not in teh left..
In my system its completey on teh Right hand side.
Only 60% of teh monitor is used , rest 40% is black.
When i double click on partition editor, nothing happens... at all ...
In fact nothin happen wen i click on other icons as well..
Tried Windows+R an teh Run thing popped up .. Tried teh Gparted command an nothin happened even then..
Tried partition
Partition editor ... nothing at all worked ...
What do i do to get it working?

well.. then u must doin sumthing wrong ... may b the iso file is corrupted.. or ur cd dint get burnt properly..

Ok next time i'll use vmware instead of burning it into a cd an wasting media
But for now, I used teh MadPartitionSD application to convert it to ext4. It works good ...
And its damn simple

MadTeam App2SD or any inbuilt tool is good
It is better to provide any inbuilt .apk to partition.
The process should be minimalistic.
Try to provide MadTeam App2SD or any similar tool and provide tutorial. You will be very much appreciated.

Without PFGPS - 2400 seconds Fixed - apply xda qfix
PFGPS FIX v2.0 :
- First start - 9 seconds - Fixed
- Second start (reconnection) - 2 seconds - Fixed

If you leave your country FIX automatically switches to to another best location .

any way i replaced file manually by root explorer and then after reboot i check maps and now it show location more speedyly than before so thanks

Hey PFittech,
i can confirm its working for the Netherlands. Every time i use nav program gps locks within 60sec, even after phone reboot. THNX!!, again another annoying thing got rid off.
I also got an error on installing from sdcard, so had to put the files manually at the right place. After this i had to reboot 2 times for changes to take effect.

Extract your zip file then there is two folder
go in system folder there is anothrr two folder one bin and second etc
so copy file inside bin folder to your phones system/bin/ and change permission to rwxr-xr-x
and file inside etc folder copy to your phones system/etc/ and change permission to rw-r-r
then reboot

can someone confirm if this works for Galaxy ACE?. If not working I delete my post I need feedback.
For those who had problems of instalaton I verify script.

We usually use:

And:

This is also applied to /cache , /data , /sdcard and /sd-ext too !

For Brazil, it says Installation Aborted, but even replacing using the root explorer and setting up the permissions, my GPS still not locking up. It was working fine with the stock rom.

His update-binary must be problematic .
All files abort with status 0 .

Thnkx to my friend adib_17 from galaxy mini section for guiding me for this.
spent 4 days in learning and testing and now its working on carbon for me. file is flashable.
This tutorial show you how to port stock sam keyboard to a custom rom.
you need these files and folders ... take from your stock rom odin flashable file: (use magicIso or UltraIso)
- T9DB folder (from csc.rfs file)
- AxT9IME.apk and AxT9IME.odex (from system.rfs file in app folder)
- touchwiz.xml (from system.rfs file in etc->permissions folder)
- libdhwr.so and libXt9core.so (from system.rfs file in lib folder)
first deodex your AxT9IME.apk (see post #2)
make a flashable zip file and put stock files like this: (or use attachment zip file and delet my files and put your files.)
- T9DB folder in: yourzip/system/
- touchwiz.xml in: yourzip/system/etc/permissions
- libdhwr.so and libXt9core.so in: yourzip/system/lib
- deodex AxT9IME.apk in: yourzip/system/app
move zip file to SDcard and reboot to recovery(CWR) and select "install zip from SD". after install go to advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache.
finish! now reboot and use Samsung keyboard with your language.
# if your rom is odex go to system/app with root explorer, find AxT9IME.apk and AxT9IME.odex and add ".bak" to end of two files then reboot to recovery.#
Asian rom keyboard extracted from S5830DDKQ6 INDIA with this languages:
English(US)-English(UK)-France-polski-Korean-deutsch-espanolitaliano and many more (all rom have english and Korean)
Note : Before flashing got to system/app and rename your old keyboard and add .bak in the end of its name.
for example : if old keyboard is latin.apk and latin.odex then rename to latin.apk.bak and latin.odex.bak.
thats all now go into recovery
1. clear dalvik cache.
2. install my zip.
3. reboot enjoy samsung keyboard.

How to deodex ...
Install Java Runtime Enviroment on your PC.
Download backsmali.jar and smali.jar from attachment.
Make a folder like edit in root of a drive (ex: C:\edit )
Put backsmali.jar and smali.jar files in this direction.
You need 7 odex file from stock framwork:
- android.policy.odex
- bouncycastle.odex
- core.odex
- core-junit.odex
- ext.odex
- framework.odex
- services.odex
Put all files in "edit" folder. Now put AxT9IME.odex file in this folder.
Run windows cmd (go to start menu, Run... and type cmd and then enter)
First line go to "edit" folder by insert this commend : (you can copy and past this comment from here)

Next, insert this line for backsmali AxT9IME.odex :

java -jar baksmali.jar -x AxT9IME.odex
Now you have a out folder. Don't touch it.
Insert this commend for smali your work :

Now in "edit" folder you have a file like this: out.dex
Rename file to classes.dex , open your AxT9IME.apk with winRar (or any program like this) push your .dex file to .apk file ... WooW, now you deodex your fist android system app.

[Q] Help to root my Samsung GT S5360

I downloaded the updated.rar & EX File Explorer to transfer the file. My questions are!
1. Is it compulsory to connect to PC to move the file to SDCard or through phone itself i can do this job?
2. Should i move the file to /sdcard/ location ? or inside this there are many sub folders like android, animgifs, appsettings, arm-logs, media, whatsapp, bstfolder etc........which sub folder should i put or direct /sdcard/?

You need to install kies on your PC to receive phone's driver
Connect your phone to the PC
Open kies and wait until it has completed connecting to your phone
Download file update.zip and put it in SDcard not under any folder
Unplugged your phone and shut down it to open recovery mode
use volume up and down, home buttons to choose install update from SDcard, choose update.zip and wait 1s, now reboot your phone and now it's rooted

Just use that app.. all you need to do is.. get that update.zip file to your sdcard.. keep it outside of folders..
you have copied songs , picture files to sdcard right?? same way do this.. either download update file from phone browser.. which will store in download folder.. then move it outside download folder or download it from PC and move it to phone by connecting usb cable or bluetooth or however you send files usually..... then reboot and flash it in stock recovery as instructed in root thread,...

you have update.zip include superuser or Supersu and su file ?
If you do not have it this file, I suggest that I use.

dude dont get confused just do this

*put it in your sd card directly not in any folder
*switch off ur phone and reboot it holding vol up, power and home buttons together
*do clear data and cash there its important (use volume up down and home keys to navigate)
*now install updates fromsc card>update.zip>ok

no need just check if superuser app is installed in your app drawer
and be sure to update the su binary

Re-Partition Internal Sdcard for App Instaallation Space

App for repartitioning your phone's internal memory.
Meteos MTK6589 ROM EDIT
This app will allow you to change your phone's data partition size.
Since most people have a MicroSD card for storing their files on, the internal sdcard is just a waste of space and can be put to good use for storing apps.
This app allows you to do so.
Requirements:
Xolo Q700/Q700i
Root access
A custom recovery
YOU ARE DOING THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK
(Although no serious harm can be done when correctly using this tool)
Instructions:
Make a backup of your files in your recovery (if you want to preserve them) and make sure they are stored on the external sdcard.
Download, install and start the Meteos app for your specific ROM size and choose your desired Data partition size.
Press "Reboot into Recovery" and choose "'Wipe data/Factory Reset" on CWM or Wipe internal storage on TWRP.
Restore your backup.
Profit.

There will be no problem right ?? any problems faced by anyone doing the same ?? if the phone gets bad it again go to the service center so just curious weather to reparation or not.

I tried and it worked fine. now my primary storage is 2.46 gb.

there s no 4 gb file, u just have to download a,small file 64 kb or something, just download thd apk file, the apk file is different for 4gb,8gb,16gb,32gb rom phones, if u are using a 4 gb rom phone, like our q700/q700i/q800, u have to dl meteos app for 4 gb rom,
and you only have to download one small file.

not able to download the english version for 4gb phone. I downloaded the foreign language version. Here is it attached.

Noticed two major problem here.
After re-partitioning using the tool, when you go to the recovery and factory reset, it throws an error that it cannot umount emmc and then the phone is looked in boot, doesn't start at all. AFter this, you need to flash Q700i rom and start from scratch.
However, if you wipe Data, the phone does start but it still gives the error that it cannot umount emmc.
Any help here.

It works perfectly bro, in recovery u jst have to factory reset only and reboot. Also, u must hv q700i stock rom installed.

I am also facing the problem of internal storage /emmc not mounting. In storage in android settings I only see sdcard. No internal storage option.
