[Q] [SGH-I337M] [Smsung Galaxy S4 Telce México] Not registered on network problem - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi XDA,
I bought a secondhand cellphone two days ago. I live in Guadalajara, Mexico and it's registered with TELCEL.
When I bought it I made a call and it didn't have problems, but then I realized that it always lost the signal after finishing a call. It recovered the signal after rebooting the phone but after the first call it would lose the signal again. When it had signal I could surf the Internet, send and receive sms and calls.
I've been reading on the forum but I didn't find a similar case. Yesterday I rooted the phone and today I noticed that I can't make a call even if I reboot it. Now I don't have LTE data and I can't receive/send sms. When I say I can't make a call is because when I try it the phone sends the message "Not registered on network".
I'm wondering if the phone has been stolen and it has been reported. Does anyone know if it is possible? And if I can fix it. I don't have much experience with samsung.
I hope that someone can help me, I haven't modified the modem because I'm afraid to brick the phone. I restored the phone and it keep without the possibility of make calls.
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problems here on Cuba.
I have 2 phones SGH-I337M and with both it is similar.
It is not that he loses the signal, because the indicator show full strength.
Yesterday create a thread in case somebody has any idea of how to solve it. I have seen other S4's models that work correctly here.

If you phone is getting calls and texts ms then its not your phone. Its on the providers end. Sometimes they have outgoing information problems.
Also when trying to troubleshoot something use the first step and best rule of thum. Ask your self "What has changed"? then go from their.
If it was working before 10am and you had not changed anything its more then likely the provider. Their is nothing you can do their except wait or call them to get a ETA on the problem fix.

Lost calls

I am wondering if anybody else is having the same problem.
I am on Rogers and one out of 20-30 incoming calls does not go through. No matter if it made from a land line or Rogers network. It goes to my voicemail (more often) or sometimes it gives 'number not in service' error. I tried my SIM card on Nokia phone and I could not reproduce the problem. Rogers sent me a replacement phone but it has exactly same problem.
I did not realize I had this problem until someone complaind and I did a test. Do you want to try making 50 calls to your phone and see if every one gives you a ring?
Any info/help would be appreciated.
Update: I tested in a different location and I received every single call. It is probably a network related issue.

Dropping Calls

Hi there,
I was hoping someone could be of assistance.
I try to carry out solutions for myself, but I can no longer go on!
I have had the Hero since July/August. I unlocked it from Orange and now using o2 since I bought the phone). I changed settings etc and have since used data network, email etc okay although it has always been intermittent.
However, I have always had a problem with dropped calls. It constantly does it - won't phone through. Also texts don't always send. Presently, I can't do anything - calls, internet etc - even with full bars.
I may have fully bars as I do now, yet I call myself and it goes to answerphone. I have so many missed calls. Can anyone shed any light.
I am on firmware 1.5 if that makes any difference. My signal strength atm is -63bm and all is in service.
I can't even access the Internet at the moment either.
can you say, whats your "Build Number", Baseband and Kernel?
You can see this at same place, where you see your Firmware Version (Thats Android Version)

I can't recieve calls or SMS when connected to WIFI. S5.

Hi
I have just upgraded from a galaxy S4 to S5 and I'm having big problems with receiving calls and SMS when I am connected to my home WIFI connection.
Only when I turn off wifi on my phone I start receiving the backlog of SMS messages.
It's driving me mad as I have searched the internet high and low and lots of people have the same issues but no one seems to have a solution.
Some times I can receive calls when connected to wifi but the SMS messages don't come through until I disconnect.
My wife has also just upgraded from a s4 to s5 but hers appears to be ok.
I have noticed that in more networks/mobile networks/network mode, my wife's gives options of 3G, 4g etc but mine says LTE/WCDMA/gsm which I though was strange as we are both on virgin mobile. I don't think this is the issue though as it's a wifi issue.
Please help I'm on the brick of selling it as it's driving me insane.
Cheers

1- Regarding the WiFi issue, it may be due to some installed apps (a), some incorrect settings (b), or the firmware itself (c).
(a) Check to see if there is possible app that may cause the issue and try uninstall it.
(b) Compare with the S5 of your wife and make sure all related settings are the same. Or you can do factory reset.
(b) Try to update to the newer or latest firmware (compare with the firmware on your wife's S5), that may fix the issue.
2- Regarding the difference in the Network Settings menu, it may be due to different models. You can compare all important info on your own S5 and your wife's S5 with this app: Phone INFO ★Samsung★

Friends of mine were at my house over the weekend and he had a samsung s4 and had the same problem after logging onto my wifi. It is the wifi causing the problem. I had an old modem and netgear router that we hooked up and then we were able to receive calls like you should. We switched out the modem/router combo on Sat to my older setup and my phone is still working normally! I called my dsl provider and told them about the problem as I just bought the modem/router combo from them recently.
They never heard of anything like this. I do find it hard to believe that the home wifi equipment disrutes the cell phone signal. But my phone is now working!!! Anyone ever heard of this or that can explain why this would happen I would love to hear about it.

My Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 doesn't receive a signal, not even emergency calls. I need help

Hello everyone, I have got a problem with my Galaxy S4, its model is GT-I9500. The thing is my phone have no signal, but I need to say in some cases it receives signal and the red connect but it is unstable (it connects to 3G mobile data and I can make calls) but it's last is very short but the mayor part of the time have no signal, it is keeping in "No Service" and "Emergency Calls Only". I need to say that I had installed in my phone the rom First Flight V6 and it was fine for a long time but one day I activated Airplane Mode and since that day I have this problem, I was searching in google about this and I didn't find anything that could help me, so I decided to go back to the stock rom but the problem continues and I have no idea what to do. I would apreciate your help
