Change your phone from Enforcing to Permissive - Sprint Galaxy S 5 General

Go to the play store and download an app called SELinux Mode Changer.

What does this do?

I think he meant more along the line of "What does this do for my phone?". Why would you turn off SELinux on a phone?
The answer seems to be that SELinux in enforcing mode breaks some root apps.

Download titanium backup and freeze the seandroid app. Problem solved. There is also a nag fix zip in the development forum. Hope this helps.
Love the 90s Good Times.
Freeze SEAndroid using an app like titanium backup and this message will go away.

If you have a custom kernel you freeze seandroid or delete /system/app/KNOXAgent.apk/.odex. If not, use CF Auto Root from original dev section and that should fix you.

Another good alternate is Root App Delete.
the new SuperSU by Chainfire fixes this issue... just download it from the market and replace superuser app.... and no need to freeze or delete any file
You don't have to use TiBu. Any app that freezes apps can be used to fix this. I haven't heard of any other fixes for it yet though. Just freeze SEAndroid.apk.

[Q] Any chances to disable SELinux enforcing mode? I tried a few things ...

My phone is rooted by Kingo Root with stock kernel and selinux still in enforcing mode, so some things do not work (as easy).
First thing I read and tried was to run "setenforce 0" but i got a permission denied.
Then 2nd I remounted system rw and edited the build.prop, adding "ro.build.selinux.enforce=0" and also adding an install-recovery-2.sh to system/etc with "setenforce 0" as commands inside.
Reboot worked fine but still enforcing - guess that wouldve been too easy hehe.
So we can write to system partition, there must be a way to get selinux to permissive mode again on stock or not?

Even tho I've set enforce to "0" using ADB, my getprop still shows "1" in terminal. Tried bot ways to set permissive and nothing. Have you found anything at all?

well as root you can issue all sorts of selinux commands, even the setenforce - but it seems there is a setting present which prevents the turning off action.
I noticed that there is a watchdog process running on the system, its binary is in the sbin folder (related to kernel) - killing it with kill did not work so far.
Also there are settings in the init.rc etc, that seem to set the enforce mode, we can edit these files all day long but on reboot they get restored from the kernel partition.
I don't know much about selinux but if we can take on the role of the kernel or some other special role, we might be able to disable it in the end. If thats not prevented by selinux itself that is. There is are commands to run things under a special context, this needs some more testing and people who know how the roles actually work.

Are any of you showing PERMISSIVE in your About section of Settings? At the bottom of About Phone should show your SELinux Status.
Decided to try changing ro.build.selinx to 0 in build.prop and so far it's stuck "permissive". Never looked at my "About Phone" that close but at the bottom is the status.

Is your N3 knox counter already 0x1?
I believe the stock kernel is hard-coded to be selinux enforcing, because when you first boot the phone up after tripping KNOX it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and "set warranty bit: kernel"
Basically, if there is a way to modify the kernel to disable selinux enforcing, I believe it would trip your KNOX counter as well, which may be what you're trying to avoid by not going with a custom kernel.

KNOX on the Galaxy Tab SMT230NU

Hello,
Using V-Root seemed to trip KNOX. I've read that reseting KNOX is highly unlikely. Is there a chance to revert it?

That has nothing to do with knox. Has to do with your system status not being official. Root = no ota's

There is ways to fake it. But its strictly for "cosmetic" value. Doesnt actually reset the flash counter in the bootloader that controls that

Sometimes (until now >10 times) after a reboot the screen is very fast flickering. I must reboot and hope it's gone.

It's caused by Wanam Xposed module. Probably this is what you mean by 2.9.9.

Hi. I just wanna share it. I found in this (xda comment post by some one I forget him for awhile looking for him to say thanks very much) fix for my s5 g900f with latest modem and bootloader. I use RR 7.1.2 rom.
The app is "active screen filter". That save my life.
