Looking for sm-537a firmware - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for official firmware before I start making changes to software of my tablet. I have checked Sammobile.com, Samsung-file.com, and have done a Google search.

Are you on the latest firmware?
Edit- never mind. According to samsungs open source you only have one firmware version. Was gonna say if youre not on the latest you could extract it from kies

Directions for how to flash 8010 firmware onto the 8013, then get JB over the air?

Could I please get directions for how to flash 8010 firmware onto my 8013?
I hope that by doing this, I'll be able to update to Jellybean over the air. Is this possible and is it a good route to getting JB on the 8013

You can't. You have a U.S. CSC and the update is for the German CSC "DBT." So with a German ROM on a U.S. CSC you won't receive any updates (ever) via OTA or Kies. There are instructions for both rooted and stock Wi-Fi Note's in the big thread that explain how to load the German base ROM and and then apply the update for people with non-German CSC's. If you decide to install the German ROM you can replace it with the U.S. version when it finally comes out and then you'll start to receive updates again normally.

Check your inbox + download german rom instead of uk rom in the pm then after flashing download csc changer from market and change csc to dbt and you will get the ota to jellybean (german rom has english and other languages normally)

Thanks all. Which csc changer should I use? In the play store there are several, and most say they are for galaxy s devices.

What is the advantage of changing csc and getting German ota rather then just doing the update manually? Seems like extra work to me.

You need to have a german base rom to do the update Anually but you have n8013 which has different software and the jellybean firmware isn't yet avaliable on samfirmware, so the only way to get it is by flashing the ics then change csc and then get the ota to jellybean

Alright I just followed your PM directions to change the firmware and switch to German ROM. It reset my device, as you said. When I check my device settings --> About Device, it now says "8010". When I go to software update though...it says "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later." Arrggghhhhhhh!!!!
I connected the device to my computer and open Kies, but also no update.

Have you changed the csc to dbt? Also which one did you download the august or September rom, it happened for me once and i changed the csc to dbt and have done full factory reset from recovery and ota worked after that
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda app-developers app
I got the September ROM: "KIES_HOME_N8010XXALI3_N8010OXAALI3_1081475_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5"
I also used the suggested program to change the csc to "DBT"

There's no reason to change the CSC. You can just flash the German (DBT) ROM and update and leave your original CSC as-is. Changing the CSC wipes the device and you'll have to change it back if your device ever needs repair. People are better off keeping their original CSC, using the German ROM until JB for their region comes out, and then flashing to it and replacing the German ROM. And none of what I described requires the device be wiped. I don't understand the sudden fascination with changing the CSC. The Note's no different than any other Samsung device.
BTW, how to check cdc on this tablet?
Barry, just saw this post from you : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35431458&postcount=179
I'm going to try it now.
Got it to work! Thank you!!

yes, the ones I have tried work quite well.
Although, I cannot get gmail, youtube, maps to work beacuse I cant figure out how to completely uninstall them before reinstalling the modded apks
Is there any downside to doing this while waiting (not so) patiently for the official 8013 release from Samsung?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I was very worried about this as well, afraid of ruining an already great device. I have been playing with my tablet all night and so far have not seen any downside. Tablet is much smoother and has really nice new multiwindow functionality, apps, etc

For N8013 with German 4.1.1 wanting to downgrade

I had my N8013 using the German 4.1.1
Obviously, I wanted the US 4.1.2 update from today.
I spent hours with a $500 paper weight... hopefully this will help someone.
1. Download the Prerooted UEALH2 Firmware Package HERE
I know this includes everything [kernel], but my Note wouldn't boot up at all.
2. Gran the UEALH2 stock kernel HERE
Both PDA.
It worked for me... you can try it out, but don't blame me if something goes wrong.
Why cant you download ICS for 8013 from Samfirmware and then OTA to 4.1.2

On a N8013 I hit update and it says "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they requested it. Try again later"

What update? Can you be a bit more specific? Nothing showing for the UK for some time on sammobile.
I don't know what update it is just when I click on update on my phone says maximum number succeeded please try later or on kies but there have been few other people on here in the UK say the same thing

The easiest thing to do would be to list your current firmware. Then we can tell you if its the latest or if you are a behind. I think NB8 is the latest stock BTU UK firmware.

Yeah. Lots of people reporting the same thing unfortunately.
I already have the latest version just that when you click on device and update it tells you maximum number of updates rolled out but like other people say there must be a problem with Samsung server.

Can you now pull the update from sammobile and install with odin yourself?
Got it now, only 16mb was wanting to know what it does? Never mind installing now.
Still 4.4.2 and is now I9505XXUFNB9
Yeah I just got it as well nothing major just a stability software update.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
I just seen NB9 released too, what a load of rubbish. Other countries are rolling out much newer firmware and we get a minor patch made back in February,,,
The latest German firmware NF1 had a June date.
Good old uk always second to last.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
If it makes you feel any better I've tried loads of stock and custom firmware on my UK btu handset and have always come back to fnb8 UK stock as it's the most stable to date. So the fact that other counties have "more up to date" firmware versions is really not important because they bring no extra features and just add problems. E.g. nge5 and ngf1 (the latest firmwares) have random reboots meaning that I can't even walk down the street listening to music because halfway through a song it will cut out and reboot.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'd say stick with fnb8 until they release a firmware with new features (maybe when Android L is released).
Hi guy's, does the 16mbt patch fix anything??? Otherwise I agree that fnb8 is pretty good for me, any feedback? Thanks

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP FIX THIS!!! . I've been trying to for the past 12 hours ... The thing is Kies says my device isn't supported but I'm sure it is since is the SGS4 (I337) with firmware 4.4.2 ... Someone please find me a legit solution for this .. I've tried so many ways with ODIN... But they all seem to fail. I think I downloaded the wrong files. Idk someone help! :crying:
