Xolo Q700S gets an official version of Android KitKat
When Google releases a new version of Android, a lot of users turn to custom ROMs to get a taste of it before an OTA update arrives, if it ever does.

Usually, this is the case for low and mid range devices, who never get an OS update.
Recently, we have seen a lot of Android OEMs, pushing out updates for their phones and tablets. Now Xolo have taken that one step further and have published a beta version of Android KitKat for the Xolo Q700S.
A beta OS update from an OEM ? This is unbelievable. I hope other manufacturers take the cue and follow.
The phone was launched earlier this year, with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and will receive an update to Android 4.4 KitKat soon. You can head over to the official project page to download the files.

I did all as you told me but at last step where it boots up into 4.4.2 was not the same it booted up in 4.2.2 only :'( tried factory reset and wiped cache still the same what do i do my phone is not even rooted.

There is some serious issues with WiFi signal, Stock google apps (Facebook also) and camera focusing on KitKat update.

Data disconnected when Calling after Kitkat updation
Updated successfully my Q700S with Kitkat (Version S006_28072014 | Dev-Host 392 MB) as you described. Its working fine except one thing. Data get disconnecting when making and receiving calls. We have to switch ON data going to settings menu each time after makeing and receiving calls.I reported this to xolo care and they told me to get the handset to xolo service center. The service center people reprogrammed it to Jellybean and the problem solved

Don't install Adnroid Kitkat
The update is not worth installing. The camera quality significantly deteriorates and works as if its 2MP camera. The xolo care has no solution for the same.

on 4.2.2 i have rooted my phone with supersu.
The update was installed successfully, but i cant root my device any more.
I have tried lots of method but nothing happen.
Just for my experiment for rooting i have tried some Chinese app and now i can uninstall them.

How to flash:
ROM downloaded
I9295-xxxx.zip push to your SD Card
boot in the CWM
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!
a full wipe is absolutely necessary
Cache and Dalvik Cache wipe
install ROM over CWM (wait a few minutes)
you dont needed to install any GApps (all GApps included in the ROM)
reboot your Device (the first boot can take a little bit more time 5-10min)
if it after 10min not boot, reboot in CWM, make a full wipe again and reboot!

Great work! I hate the Samsung interface.
Does the camera not work because of a kernel issue or the camera app ? Can components from Samsung's ROMs be swapped in to make the camera work ? (ie. kernel and camera app). I'm a n00b when it comes to low level Android stuff, but I have lots of ARM development boards (all running Arch+Debian) .

The Camera not work because it is a other Hardware as the normal S4 have.
The Kernel in this ROM is from my deodexed I9295 ROM.
But the Samsung Camera App works only with TW framework.... so we search an other solution.
We have a few things for testing... other libs, other Camera Apps.... we will see!

i will added this in the first Post and added a script in V2 how check before installed if it is the right device! I think this is the best solution....

I'm pretty sure that SGH-I537 boot loader is locked so no custom ROMs atm. My 2 cents.

i537 doesn't work
I just installed this on my i9295... the ROM is awesome, it's fast and smooth... but WiFi doesn't work (it doesn't allow me to turn it on). I'm having the same problem with NadMaj's ROM, any ideas what might be causing it ?
One User of my deodexed stock ROM reports the same issue with wlan .. at the moment i think it is a general problem of I9295 :silly: ... but i dont have this issue....
I m sure you have make a full wipe before or after flashing the ROM?
I did a user data wipe + wipe dalvik cache + wipe cache in CWM before flashing. I also tried flashing a UK ROM, booting, then wiping then installing your ROM. As I said, NadMaj's ROM is doing the same thing on my phone. The wifi works fine in the UK ROM (I found on SAMMobile).
Can you please test this ROM too?

Download Q700s-EVO
Installation:-
1) Flash Any Custom Recovery
2) Enter recovery via Power +volume up button
3) Wipe Data, cache, system
4) Install (zip) the q700s_EVO rom
5) Click on Reboot (select no when asked to fix root)
ROOT isn't required for flashing, just a custom recovery is needed to flash the zip
You can flash it over any rom, stock or 4.2 or 4.4.. Doesn't matter. Just follow the above 4 installation instructions.
Disable USB Debugging if the phone isn't showing up on PC.
If u wanna root, flash the supersu.zip in recovery.
AUDIO is quite low by default, so better increase the volume from engineering mode

No. It's kitkat based and q700i doesn't have kitkat

Small bugs
This ROM for Xolo q700s is good.
But bootanimaton is not playing because in the zip of bootanimation there is another folder and in the folder there are the contents. That is wrong. Part 0 and desc.txt should be pasted directly into bootanimation.zip. and for some reason I m not able to copy files from my storages into the root folders like system, data, dev,etc

Motorola released OTA update for Indian users of XT1068. Only a selected people have got this update. After searching for many hours I managed to get the link of the captured OTA zip . The OTA upgrades your 4.4.4 to 5.0.2.
Now here is the thing. I cannot confirm whether its working or not. My Internet connection is unstable since this week. I am unable to download the zip. I request the concerned users to download the zip and check the build.prop of the zip to confirm. I will download as soon as my Internet becomes okay.
For those who want to install the OTA. You have to unroot the device and be on stock 4.4.4 firmware
-Download the zip.
-Place the zip in the root of your internal storage. (not in any folder)
-Go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
-The phone will detect the zip and then from there update to Lollipop.
Please give your feedback below so that I will know whether the OTA is working or not.

This is just the New Google Now Launcher, i got it yesterday with the 21.11.23 update. This isn't Lollipop, just KitKat 4.4.4
This is an issue with dev-host. They have ads which pop up and disguise themselves as the download - but end up being spam/trojan/malware.
Removing the download link and @sharkymyn can find a new host.

Yes, File date is suspicious. Can not be latest rom which is uploaded 2 months back.

He FOUND it while searching...lol ...so definitely he doesn't have the actual ota...
M very much surprised no one has actually captured the ota for moto g2...

I want to revert back to original CM12 to apply this. Help me out

I am rooted With stock recovery by temporary method.. I am purely on Stock only. When I am manually updating through my stock recovery.. It is showing me the errors...
I have checked the md5 also it is correct.

I downgraded my phone to kitkat. Is the update package link of size 643.76mb really with ota cm12 plus 122 mb update? i just wanna know it.

u need to flash whole rom which is about 643.767MB here is LINK

yes it is 643.767MB
The link is CM12 + the incremental one? Is it Flash it from recovery..?

Can't install custom recovery
I flashed this complete rom (including the update package). i wiped everything and then installed using stock recovery. The rom is working fine but now i can't install any custom recovery. I tried every method including locking and unlocking the bootloader again. Please help me as i cannot restore my apps without it. Is there something different after the update?

you need to be unrooted and on factory lollipop image.

When I click the install button on the ota update, it first says installing, then rebooting. Installation starts but stops. It then opens the recovery(stock). I downloaded the 122mb package for trying manually. When I install that, I get this error!
