Recovery error.. "E:Error opening..." - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Don't know how I did this but I'm having an error in Recovery...comes up as
E:error opening '/data/data/com/instagram.andro
E:error: I/O error
This error is preventing me from restoring backups (they fail)..
Its also kept me from clean installing a new ROM (Rom will boot but I get the process stopped pop-up message repeatedly)...
I've done a total wipe of everything except for internal storage.. but the results are the same. Any help or insight would be appreciated. ***Error also occurs after wipe*** But wipe is "successful"
TIA

Got this issue sorted last night. Apparently, TWRP does a poor job of wiping so I had to switch to Philz recovery and wipe in order to remove that pesky error. From there I was able to perform a clean install of a new ROM, use Freegee to install TWRP and finally load one of my backups.
New issue...
Tap to wake no longer works ...
Any help for the new problem?

Yea I done a Task 29, clean cache, wipe data. Then done a fresh install but got this message for every app I wanted to install. Have no idea how to fix this?
I fixed my P780 with the parsing package error
I had a ROW rom S228 and flashed a CN one. I couldn't restore any of my apps or system with the parsing package error.
Upgrading in the latest Version of SuperSU, apply the security fix that was prompt in the TWRP after installation of SuperSU zip, and disable "Mount namespace seperation" inside SuperSU settings did the trick for me.

Maybe this post can help you:

Make sure to select format. That's something different then wipe.
Thanks for the reply, but nothing worked.
Finally the only solution was to go stock.
Downloaded the stock lollipop for odin, flashed partitioned etc and rebooted
Of course the "encryption failed" error came up again,
but this time the stock recovery managed to wipe the encryption.
from there I start from scratch, new recovery, new root, new setup
and then restore from backup.
My new job has high risk of "loosing" my phone so I could really use the encryption, for all my sensitive data.
apparently it is not working.
The problem is the custom rom? the custom kernel? the custom recovery?

Problem with com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox

Every time i do anything in twrp (wipe, restore etc) I get an error "error opening: ('/data/data/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox/app_webview/Cookies' (I/O error))
After seeing this, i performed a facory reset and then installed the newest aicp nightly along with appropriate gapps. It installed fine, booted fine. However, wheni tried installing the Google app from the play store, it gives me a 504 error.
After messing around with the rom a few minutes, i went back into twrp to restore a backup, which fails and gives me the error I received before as well as "extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255"when trying to restore data.
Still not sure what i did wrong but ended up biting the bullet, moved everything important to external sd, format data partition, reboot twrp, factory reset and then installed AICP and gapps.

weird error in twrp

i am having following error in twrp. due to this i cannot take backup. any way to fix this.
just now i wiped data completely, still it didn't fixed the error.
please help me to resolve this.
What version of TWRP are you using and exactly what were you trying to do before you got the error?
That looks like some encryption stuff to me.
This error displays as soon as I go to TWRP and i was unable to do nandroid back up.
I went to wipe advance wipe and selected data, instead of wipe, there was a button above the swipe option, i clicked that and repaired partition, and i think it fixed the issue.
