Verizon S5 with AT&T SIM - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is my first android so please excuse the lack of experience with it.
I am using a Verizon Galaxy S5 with an AT&T sim in it. I got data to work after entering the AT&T APN settings and everything else is working except for incoming phone calls caller id format. Incoming calls are showing up as +-xxx-xxxx Example: +714-555-1212
If that call is from someone in my contact list it will not be identified. If I call back that number it will fail as it is assumed to be an invalid international number
I called AT&T support but they refused to help me stating that I am at fault for not using an AT&T device.
I have rooted the device using towel root and removed all Veirzon blotware.
I also installed PreFixer and it works sometime but I prefer to find a permanent solution if possible.
Question: is it possible to convert my Verizon S5 into an AT&T one by flashing it and installing an AT&T image? or will that brick my device?
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I appreciate your replies.

[Q] Verizon S5 in Canada

Hello,
Ive been using a Verizon S5 in Canada for the past year. I didn't have to unlock the phone, and it works fine except for a few things.
I recently rooted the S5 to get rid of some Verizon bloatware. My only problem right now is not being able to call the *611 customer service number. It keeps ringing the Verizon one instead of Canada's Koodo one.
Also unable to check voicemails because of this.
If anyone could let me know a fix for this please let me know!
Thanks

[Q] Going from one carrier to another

The company I work for is changing carriers - VZW to AT&T.
That should be a simple matter - just change the nano-sim since our phone is unlocked and all network capable.
My boss is trying to tell me that AT&T has had problems with this phone. Can anyone here confirm problems?
No problems here.
I run this on AT&T with zero issues. AT&T fully recognizes the IMEI of the device and it's capabilities, including LTE and Visual Voicemail.
This seems already answered, but for the future: willmyphonework.net answers these sort of questions
Thanks to all!
I appreciate the replies! There's a story behind this but that's to be discussed in private.

I have an unreleased model of the S8?

I know the unlocked model of the s8 is supposed to be released at the end of may, but I bought an s8 off of swappa that was unlocked model number G950, and it seems to be unlocked and there are no carrier boot up logos or bloatware. My Sim card (At&t) is recognized and I am able to get LTE, But texting doesn't work, it just immediately says retry and calling just gives me an error saying Sim is not installed or something. Dunno if this means anything but while I was installing an OTA update for the phone the screen looked kinda different from any other phones I've used (trust me I've used a lot of phones...) and I was wondering if that meant anything. I've attached a photo so you all can see. Any insight or help on how to get my calls and texts working would be helpful. Also, I honestly don't know what phone I have. I did some research of some model numbers I found in the settings and there was only one search that led me to Samsung saying that it was a model for C-Spire but I've never heard of them.
That's the regular update screen. I did an update last night.

If you look in the root/change carrier thread and do some reading. You can flash from C-spire to XAC. Which is unlocked Canadian version. It unlocks LTE bands and no carrier bloat. I had a US cellular version and did this. Now it works great

The stock messaging app, "settings", then "more settings" , then "text messages" then "message center"" . Make sure you have this number there: +13603399740
That is what AT&T told me to go to when I couldn't get messages on my phone. Not 100% sure if the number is the same for everyone on AT&T or not.

Help! - HTC 10 (Verizon) - Trying to use on Koodo/Telus in Canada

Hello Everyone,
I am hoping you guys can help me out. I purchased a Verizon branded HTC 10 [GSM unlocked] an am having trouble setting it up on my network in Canada (Koodo/Telus). I am wondering if I may have purchased the wrong device for my network as I keep on getting the notification "Sim Card is not from Verizon Wireless". However, when I checked the IMEI with Koodo online, it indicated that it "should" work. If it is wrong, I believe I still can return it. Thanks in advance for your help guys.
Update: it seems that I'm able to access most of my phone's features after resetting it. However, I still cannot access my voicemail. Any suggestions?

Go to settings, call, voicemail, voicemail settings, and enter the Telus voicemail number which I'm sure you can find on Google.
