[Tutorial] How to Install Indian Stock Rom 32GB - GiONEE Elife E7

Ok Guys so i have recieved quite a few requests regarding this..
Tools which you will need to restore to stock indian rom [pre ROOTED]
1. Stock Indian ROM 32GB Version [Credits NHS2008]
http://www.mediafire.com/download/qtqe8xqqc6kt0a7/GiONEE+E7+32+GB+India+STOCK.zip
2. You Need CWM because this is a cwm backup.
[recovery][e7] cwm 6.0.3.7 [unofficial] [Credits Ravikirancg]
http://d-h.st/dXx
3. Rashr an andrid application to flash custom recovery and kernels [Credit DsLNeXuS]
https://github.com/DsLNeXuS/Rashr/blob/master/Rashr.apk?raw=true
After you have all the files on your pc or phone you need to extract the custom rom on your pc do not use winrar just use windows inbuild unzipper and extract all the files...
Then Install CWM with RASHR
After that Create these folders in your phone clockworkmod/backup/1970-02-28.02.08.01
and put all the extracted files in that folder after that in cwm restore the backup..
Reply back if you guys have any questions..
PS : i will try to make things more clear by adding images when i get some free time.. enjoy guys..

Root your phone.
Download the recovery.img you want.
Save it wherever you want at your phone.
Download any root file manager (ex Root Explorer), which can mount and show hidden folders.
Mount ./cust_backup as rw.
Copy and replace recovery.img from SD card to /.cust_backup/image/recovery.img
Done!
Cheers
Hey there, i got the apk of ROOT EXPLORER and downloaded a recovery.img and put on my SD Card then in the apk i copy the .img to imag/ and when i past it says ONLY READ ... i dont know what to do because it is my frist time working with this kind of apk

sorry my friend. I don't understand what your problem is. Have you copied the recovery.img file at the correct folder? Did you boot at recovery ok? what are you trying ro flash?
i had a similar issue - the rom manager installed the CWM but when i booted to it, it was the default one.
So:
1. Delete/rename the recovery.img
2. Then paste new one (for some reason it didnt overwrite it).
3. Just use rom manager to boot into recovery or use the vol + and power button option.
Now in the recovery use the install from sdcard option.
The reason ur not getting the flash/mass storage drive on purple screen is cuz ur bootloader is locked (i assume official gingerbread is installed?)
Hey there, correct i have oficial gingabread, and i want to put a Custom ROM on it ....
And now i accidently deleted the recovery.img and cant paste the recovery that i have on my SD Card to the flash via ROOT Explorer
Now what can i do :'(
cuz the Custom ROM that i want to put is the Elite ROM v10 that is for 2.3 if iam not mistake
Can someone help me out plz

Just reapply official rom. If possible use beta 1 or 2. Keeps bootloader unlocked.
Sent from my Derp using XDA Herp
FINNAAALLYYYYY !!! THANK GOD BETAAA !! thanks m8 i putted a thanks on you
You can apply latest official ROM also and then unlock your bootloader like described here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21659629
You can use the manual method
Then you can plug your phone to your pc at pink screen and paste any recovery version you want inside the image folder.

Yes it's with terminal emulator.
Have a look here for the command to use.
It can be used with any recovery.img, but you'll need root for the command to work.

yes, all same. use "Terminal Emulator" app from Play Store by Jack Palevich, you need root and busybox. open it, type "su" then enter, and then type again "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21 of=/storage/sdcard0/stockrecovery.img".. then an image file of your backuped recovery was created in your sdcard.. you can change the path of the "of"
HEY TYS0N!! THIS IS MY REPORT: I've flashed your "NON TOUCH CWM - the md5 file" with ODIN 3.07 and I got ONLY the external sd card shown in recovery but labeled as internal (I TRIED REBOOT but still same).. I was panicing.. then I flashed root with it.. and change my recovery as soon as it finished boot with "dd" command with the official one. I reboot to the *official* recovery, then got it all worked..
to the point: does the files that you provided is different?? or any damage in your files? do you got it with your phone working? if there's any, please change.. what's dangerous that people using your files and get their device brick.
thanks for read... greets

okay thx. I need to explain what I mean, there's no "flash zip from external sd card". Only "install zip from sd card". But after selecting "install zip from sd card" (this is must be internal right?), it displays my external sd, not internal.

Hope it works now.

Recovery is the same for all versions. Using triangle away might help get your official status back if you triggered the custom binary count by flashing recovery through Odin.
Depends on what you've done to get your status modified.

Recovery is never a part of backup. You will need CWM recovery installed to restore this backup.
It is a CWM backup.
Thanks for sharing. I was able to recover back to stock version.
If you still have the original folder name of the cwm backup, please share in order to avoid the md5 error in cwm. Removing and clearing contents of nandroid.md5 didn't work for me. Had to create md5 from adb.
Also do you have stock recovery backup. I flashed the chinese cwm without taking original recovery backup.
For those getting error in extracting the folder. Open the archive and extract the folder inside rather than full archive.

i would suggest to redownload the zip file and try again. maybe the zip is corrupted or something. try downloading from pc, i used to have corrupted zips sometimes when i was downloading big zip from nexus 4.
now that i saw the picture again the problem probably is that the zip you downloaded has a problem with the updater script. every zip has a script so the recovery knows what to do. try another rom or check if the rom version ytou downloaded is for nexus 4 and not for another phone
i don´t understand...
i try 2 diferent roms, and they are both for nexus 4...
i try pass the roms by usb cable
and try to download them in the phonefor both i ahve the same errors
any help??

Could you give more detail? Did you extract and copy all file in .7z into sd-card? What CWM version do you use? What process that say files not found?
You maybe copied Rom into wrong location. CWM default location of backup Rom in sd card is "/clockworkmod/backup/".
Try copy rom folder into this location.
I tested restore from this rom and it works normally.

If you use CyanogenMod then I assume that you have custom recovery already. I use CWM 6.0.5.1 (above guy said 6.0.4.7 is not work).
1. Download this rom backup .7z file and extract it. You will get a rom backup folder.
2. Copy that folder to sd card. Place it in default backup location of your recovery. If you don't know, try backup your current rom and see where is it. You can see "Backup and restore" menu when you reboot in recovery mode.
3. Restore it. That's all!
I suggest to backup your current rom before. If you have some problem with my rom then you can restore to your current.

Do you use CWM 6.0.4.7? Try again with 6.0.5.1. I can't remember where I got this version. I searched in Desire 816 forum. Or, try PhilZ Touch 6 Recovery as @tazmako said above.

Yes , I use CWM 6.0.4.7

Try factory reset maybe can help.
Wifi problems
Unable to turn on wifi after installing this backup rom. Had performed a factory reset - wifi problem still persisted. Tried installing OTA updates too. The wifi problem isn't going away... :/
