Hey, I just bought a Hp slate 7 extreme and love it but i want to root my tablet. It was rooted using Vroot when my tab is 4.2.2. Now problem is someone or something has triggered the update to 4.3 and now i lost the root access. Tried using Vroot, onesuperclick and even the supertool by Tom but to no avail. There also towelroot but it make my tablet hanged and if i force close, it restarts the tab.

For starters this is the wrong Forum Thead to post in, it should be in the Q&A Forum.
Second you didn't use search as if you got here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541784 it will tell you with clear instructions on how to root the TegraTab.
Please insure that your threads are in the right place. I mean no disrespect but XDA have rules for a reason.

Ahh my bad, I'll try and be more careful. Now, I have read that link there already and it doesn't work. Also now my situation has worsen in that it got updated to 4.4.2.......I still tried all other methods, Vroot, towelroot, supertool etc . Tried to do the manual fastboot also doesn't work, impact or see no device so stuck over there. Has anyone found a way to root?

If Impactor does not find your device fastboot mode, try another USB port. If that doesn't work, try another computer if possible.
Also, make sure that you are running Impactor as administrator by right-clicking the application and pressing "Run as administrator".

Edit: this is a different device

I did try other computers and still no avail, even with admin access. Also HP slate 7 extreme is basically a Tegra note 7 not different device. Just few minor changes. If only the fastboot work, i probably be rooted by now. Is there a way to back 4.2.2? like put the recovery 4.2.2 in sd and recover from the loader? would it brick my device? Also i found out about towelroot modstring, is there a specific modstring for hp 7 extreme? would like to try it.
thank you

In this case unlock bootloader
Flash TWRP and check if it works, if so flash supersu

Hey shaky, thank you for replying. he boot loader is still lock. When device off , I press power n vol up to get into this menu which has fastboot protocol, selected it but nothing happens, then check for driver in impactor, no device detected. So can't use Tom's supertool to unlock bootloader. Also did the command prompt, say fastboot not recognize internal or external etc....
There also a recovery kernel, which leads to a recovery menu that can open zip files, think I can do just flash twrp ?
Thanks

Install the drivers when the menu shows up, don't select anything at all.

Install fastboot drivers then go to your boot loader menu and type
Fastboot flash recovery twrplocation.IMG, this will flash twrp then boot into twrp (recoverykernel) install SuperSU

Thanks for replying. I did all that was suggested and nothing has changed. Problem is that impactor won't detect my device and won't install driver.
Took these pics to show what i'm seeing (left to right)
1) First pic is when tab is off, I power and vol up to get that menu,
2) Second pic impactor can't detect anything.
3) Third pic is if i select Recovery Kernel, a No command show, did power and Vol up to get this recovery menu

What does the Device Manager show? For instance, when the tablet is in the recovery menu, can you see an unidentified device?
EDIT: What operating system are you running? Are you an administrator? Are you running Impactor as administrator?

In recovery mode, nothing shows up in device manager
In normal tab mode, it show android phone with subset android composite adb interface. Also there a ? MTP

anyone?

Update! : I exchange my tab, now its 4.2.2 and just rooted it with vroot. Voila surprise that towelroot and impactor still not working....
now that its rooted, is there a way to install cmw/twrp? tried the supertool but no luck with impactor so can't fastboot command.
can i just put cmw or twrp in sd and flash it from the android revocery menu?
thanks

Bump....could use some expertise help here
Thank you

From the sound of it you are rooted but not unlocked. So, flashing Roms and things will not work until you do that.
However if I am wrong and you have unlocked the boot loader, go right ahead and flash some ROMs.

I found off another thread that our HP S7E running kitkat can be rooted with towelroot v1. It's a one-click root method. Just download the apk, install and run it, and the tablet will be rooted! Just take note to install supersu from the play store

Hello new to this thread. Wanted to ask if this root method would work on the HP slate 7 beats special edition, the beats special edition looks very similar to the HP slate 7 extreme, and also the Nvidia Tegar note 7.

[Q] Nexus 7 Booting Failed & No ADB Connection

Hi Guys
Another rooting/flashing noob here that's messed up his N7 sorry
I know there's other threads with similair issues but they all advise fixes involving using adb connection and usb debugging which I cannot do (explained below)
My device will turn on, it goes to the google logo with the green start icon, I can select and go into bootloader and recovery, if I press start it says booting failed in the upper left corner and will go no further.
My device is plugged in via usb, i have the latest rookit 1.5.5, and sdk installed etc, i also have the naked drivers and the factory images from google on my pc.
The machine came with 4.1.2 installed (nakasi-jzo54k).
To mess it up, somewhere in between updating to 4.2, rooting and unrooting it, and flashing it i must have done something wrong but being a happy button bashing noob I don't know what exactly...
And yes I also didn't make a backup of any kind because well I'm just a moron and lesson well learnt.
So yeah, I have no adb connection, can't go into debuging mode and it won't boot.
Does anybody know if there is anyway I can restore my tablet please? Any help would be hugely appreciated!
Many thanks

If you got half way through rooting, what has happened to your ADB?
Try the option "Return to stock and Flash stock image" try that.
What message does ADB give you etc?

Hi thanks
Well when I run 'adb devices' in dos the device does not come up, blank etc
but if in the advanced utilities section of the rookit it will reboot it and say connected etc when i try to boot/flash image for bootloader, system, recovery etc but always goes back to google logo and won't boo up, can still get into bootloader and recovery though
i fully rooted it and unrooted it, i tried to flash 4.1.1 to see if i could thats when this all started
if i try flash stock + unroot option (device is on/normal) sub option the rootkit tries to check adb status and says not connected etc which makes sense as dos won't detect it, if this helps in device manager its coming up as...
samsung android phone
android bootloader interface
so i that driver in rootkit to manually install the naked drivers in device manager and it will say they are up to date etc
so the advanced utilities section for boot/flash image will communicate but no other.....
flash stock root used to detect it but even then in dos it would give me the 'too many links error'
I just hope there is a solution.... and i hope all that makes sense sorry
Cheers

Have you added ADB to your envioronment varibles?
If not,
Control Panel -> Advanced -> Envioronment Variables, then add the path to your SDK folder to it, after the other variables (Variables are separated using ; )
Also, try to install the drivers, using Wug's method, thats THE ONLY ONE that worked for me, unistall anything to do with nexus before hand.
Goto Device manager, find anything that involves Nexus or Android.
Then Start the "Full Driver Method" on Wugs kit.
This should sort your driver issue.
Then the Nexus should be visible through ADB.
PS- Your adb isnt broken if its accepting the commands.
The reason your device isnt listed, is the Drivers.
You have driver issues, so try the what I just stated and let me know .

The first step in the full driver guide in wugs kit is to enable usb debugging which i cannot do though as it won't power on.......
I have added the environmental variabes before yes sorry, qbkings utube vids showed me how to do that
Just tried these steps
toolkit home screen, flash stock + unroot (softbricked bootloop)
then naksaki 4.2 jzo54k, auto download and extract.
it got to dos stage and i get 'Failed bootloader is locked'
??? thanks again

OK, more help please, been hanging for5 mins lol
Issue Fixed I think, he PM'd me.
Unlocked but... what do I do now?
Newbie but old or old but newbie - With the need and not just a curious want, to be able to "rename" my Nexus 7 v1 so I can see a friendly name in my old DD-WRTed Linksys GL, I finally had enough gumption to try rooting this tablet.
So, I was excited that when I used Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.8 on my Nexus 7 v1, following the "easy and visual" steps, I actually managed to unlock this device. But when it came to the "root" part, the ADB repeatedly failed to recognize this tablet. I tried all the suggested steps and remedies, but so far, nada.
The tablet now boots past the white "Google" with an unlocked icon at the bottom, but nothing beyond thea big white "right-arrow" on the screen. I can choose a Wi-Fi signal to connect to, but that's it.
This is my first tablet and I have been playing with it for the past 3 months. I know people here are more than willing to help, so thank you in advance.
BTW, I am not that young to spend hours way past sleeping time to scour for answers and piece it together.

This worked for me...
Download the image file for your device which you can find at the Google Developer's site
Copy the uncompressed files from the image archive to the platform-tools folder of the Android SDK
Use the up and down volume on the device to get into bootloader mode. Connect the device to a usb port.
Open a command prompt in the platform tools folder and run the flash-all batch file to load the image to your device. After a few minutes I got the happy X logo to get me back to a blank slate.

Unlocked but can't root/install CWM

I used the toolkit for mac and it unlocked me, but when it came to the next steps it said device not found and then told me to highlight recovery and press start, when I do I get the android with the red ! symbol.
Can someone help me?
That symbol is a security feature within the stock recovery, volume up and power to access the stock recovery.

I tried that it's not working I press up then power the phone reboots and the red ! symbol shows up...
I searched and saw hold power and press up when I see the red ! but it just reboots the phone...

For me also Stock recovery never worked. Just try to flash CWM or TWRP.
Btw, What toolkit did you use and how did you install the drivers. Please answer these, so that someone can help you better.(Or is it just the 'mac toolkit' ?)
My suggestion: PLZ DO NOT USE TOOLKIT. If you are stuck at some point while using the toolkit, then you'll not know what went wrong and how you can correct it. Do it manually. It is the most hassle-free method. Trust me.
I think that ADB will not work in stock recovery(may be you can boot normally into your phone and then try adb). The thing which you are looking for is 'fastboot'.
1) Restart ur phone (Power Button + Volume Down, i guess) and land in the bootloader and connect your phone to PC.
2) In CMD prompt(or Terminal), type 'fastboot devices'. If your device gets listed here, then fastboot is working and drivers are properly installed. If not, then drivers are not properly installed in your PC. You need both ADB and FASTBOOT drivers. Install them properly.
PS: For MAC, i think the command is slightly different. Something like './fastboot devices' . Please look for the same in this forum or just google it and find out.
3) Follow this guide for flashing CWM and Rooting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266654
4) For properly installing the Drivers, read " A. Install the drivers " in the below thread (actually you can read the entire thread )

I used the nexus 4 Mac rootkit I found in here.
It unlocked my phone fine. But when it came to installing a recovery and root it didn't.
Neither my adb or fastboot are working now before I unlocked and I messed around and they worked now nada ...
I went to YouTube saw my problem tried pressing volume up and power like in the video and it just gives me a black screen and either turns the phone off or reboots it normally...not sure if in supposed to hold power and let go of volume or vice versa.
I placed all the files on the storage I just need to access stock recovery which I strangely cannot now...
Tried framearoot and got nowhere.
Very frustrating

Just as I mentioned, i also had the same problem with stock recovery. So I simply flashed a Custom one(CWM, in my case)
Get the ADB and FASTBOOT working and that'll solve your recovery problem. Try fiddling with your drivers again. Not sure how to do that in MAC. If FASTBOOT is working, the you can boot into a Custom Recovery(you need not even flash it) and perform whatever you need to.
fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot customrecovery.img
Again, look at the efrant's guide i referred above; i took this from there only.Remember to replace 'customrecovery.img', with the actual downloaded custom recovery image name.
Or you can try posting your problem with the toolkit, in mac toolkit's thread.
I have been youtubing everything and finally got to
Reboot system
apply update from adb
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition.
I now can get adb working so I tried ./adb sideload cwm from my desktop and it is giving me signature verification failed. installation aborted.
What can I do to resolve this?
I searched xda and no one can solve this issue from the threads I've read.
I fixed it! Whooohoooo! Installed cwm and root ....now to install pa rom.
Thanks for the help!

Flashing problems, no device found on my computer

Hi,
I've been looking for some other thread talking about my same problem, but I have not found anything, so I'm creating this thread.
I have a Nexus 7 2012 Wifi which had Android 5.1. This O.S. version was very very slow in my tablet so I tried to downgrade it to Android 4.3 so I could use it for my work.
During the flashing there was an unexpected error and the flash was not completed. I was flashing an original Android 4.3 ROM from the official site.
Now adb does not found the device when it's on bootloader mode and it only founds the device on sideload mode, but I can only flash via bootloader. I have tried to upgrade to the next Android version by sideload, but it fails as I have no O.S. installed correctly by the moment.
Is there something to fix this problem?
My device has never been rooted and has had always it's original software. My computer works with Mac OSX and I'm working with Android Studio and the android sdk tools (I'm developer). I'm not used to flashing Android devices (my last device flashed was an z610i Sony Ericsson )
Thank you very much!

Hi there,
I don't know exactly how you've done it to downgrade android without rooting and unlocking the bootloader.
So, that's the first thing that puzzeled me.
When you install an official update you also update the kernel. That kernel is based on Android L.
Now you've returned to an older Android, but the kernel didn't change, only the ROM.
That's what I think. You can try to turn the tablet on in Bootloader (Hold 'Volume down' and 'Power').
If succeeded you should see the Androidlogo and Start. Then you have a softbricked system, we can repair that.
I hope you will repair your device.

Thanks for your fast reply!
I unlocked the bootloader by the "fastboot oem unlock" command using the instructions from the Factory Images site.
When I start my tablet and press the "Restart bootloader" button (my tablet does not even try to load any O.S.), it goes to the typical screen with the android robot and there's the "Start" option. When I select "Start" it appears a "Booting failed" error on the top of the screen.
Hopping there's something to do with it :silly:
Hi,
Nice, you loaded the bootloader. Pressing Start does load the OS, so you discovered that it didn't work.
It's a shame that you don't have a Windows computer because you can download Wugs Toolkit to repair your device.
However there are a few options, (1) you can try to download Android L again and flash your device in recovery mode (Hold "Volume Down" & "Power" - then use the "volume buttons" to scroll through the list of options select "Recovery" and press "Power"). In Bootloader modus your device should be recognized by your MAC. But honestly I don't know how it works on a MAC, sorry for that.
(2) root your device in Bootloader then install new kernel for 4.3 (or maybe you should install CyanogenMod 12.1 and CWM recovery).

I do have a computer with Windows, but I don't use it for development, so I don't have android-sdk installed.

Unable to hack Asus Zenfone Laser 2 [ZE550KL - Z00L - Z00LD]

Hi to all.
I landed on XDA because I am not able to hack my Asus Zenfone Laser 2 dual-sim (ZE550KL, which seems to be also called as Z00L or Z00LD... I don't know why... ?!? ). Actually I'm very new on smartphone hacking, so I did my best recently to understand what "rooting", "recovery", "brick" etc mean.
I tried to enter this world because my phone gets gradually very slow as I use it and so I supposed that erasing the pre-installed applications and overclocking it would help, possibly installing a lighter and more performing custom rom. In order to do this I read that in short I have to unlock the boot loader, root the phone and then eventually install a custom rom. In fact I suppose that getting root privileges should already do the job by keeping the original rom, unistall all unwanted apps and eventually overclocking it. Is that correct?
However, the problems I found on my way are the following two:
I've not been able to follow those procedures on Linux. In detail, I'm not able to use "fastboot boot" instruction because it gets stuck on "waiting for any device". The device is listed and allowed when running "adb devices", the boot had been unlocked previously, the phone is in debug mode etc... but the problem is still there despite I've been trying with both the adb package included in the repositries and the one downloaded from the related google page. I've been told it may be a matter of USB drivers, so I also installed the android studio package thinking it would help, but I was wrong. I'm quite confused on this, despite I do hope I can hack my phone using my favourite operating system (I'm a Linux user since 2006). If you do not feel like helping on this then I will try on Windows.
After trying the same procedures on Windows 10, I realised that the Android Usb drivers released by Google did not work. I had to install the proprietary ASUS USB Drivers from the official website and only then I was able to overcome on Windows the same "waiting for any device" I had experienced on Linux. However, the phone "bricks". I suppose this should be the technical term used in this field to tell that the phone gets stuck for hours on the boot animation. I tried several times to reboot it, but each time the same story.
Maybe the problem on Linux is that I do not have the proper Android Device Usb drivers installed. In this case, how to solve the problem taking into account that ASUS only released the drivers for Windows?
RECAP: I have my phone bricked now (Android is unable to reboot, but I can do access both to the Power+VolumeUP menu (by the way, what's the name of this menu? Fast boot?) and the Power+VolumeDOWN menu (by the way, what's the name of this menu? Recovery boot?)
So sorry for the long story.
Hope you can help.
Thanks for your attention and best regards.
Uhm... no replies till now?
i dont know how you get this kind of trouble, maybe try other computer? , im using wondows 10, download small package of of fastboot driver and adb driver, flash twrp using fastboot command. all done. then i make full backup using twrp, next flash magisk .now i have root access, any problem or bootloop i just restore the full backup that work.

i see a lot of this zen2 laser got bricked on this general forum , you should read some more if that could help
When I had this device, I remember booting a temporary recovery TWRP and rooted it in that recovery. Then once I got rooted, I installed TWRP app and installed a permanent recovery from within the TWRP app, which needed root of course. Then I got everything working.
You can try booting on a temporary TWRP using fastboot then flash supersu or magisk or whatever rooting client you want. Though, I think you need an unlocked bootloader. I'm sure there's a guide around here somewhere
I'm using a Z00T and just installed LineageOS yesterday using Windows 10, following a guide by Android Authority and LineageOS.
Volume Up + Power = Fastboot
Volume Down + Power = Recovery
Sounds like you can get into Fastboot, so I'm wondering if maybe you can use it to flash the recovery image??? (I'm not a dev in any form; try this at own risk)
I'm assuming you unlocked the bootloader already...
In the directory where all your images are, perhaps try flashing the recovery with the following, where RECOVERY.img is whatever you may have renamed the TWRP image to be:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
After it's finished flashing, turn off the phone, then reboot into recovery mode with Volume Down + Power.
Something Similar happened with my phone and looking for answer
Hi All,
I'm new to this but do some hands on reading these forums. Recently i don't know how but my phone continuously boot into Fast-Boot mode. If I try to push some zip file as mentioned i'm getting error related to partition. "failed to write partition."
Can someone help me out with this.
Thank in advance.

I'm using Z00T and Windows 10. Had no issues using the Android Authority and LineageOS guides.
These guides are great but I don't want to lose my data by formatting my bootlooping device, and the drivers asus gives do not work with windows 10, the adb drivers work fine but the asus drivers do not.

How I Rooted Walmart Onn Tablets (No TWRP Needed)

I'll be making a video for this with the 7 inch tablet on Nov. 29th or 30th (depending on the time I have)
General Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if you brick your tablet. This is how I did it personally as other methods here didn't work for me. I have yet to test this method on a 7 inch, also do not have access to the Surf variants. This has only been tested on the 10.1 inch with the keyboard. Will update when I test with the 7 inch.
What's Needed:
MTK Fastboot Drivers: https://online.mediatek.com/Public Documents/MTK_Android_USB_Driver.zip
Magisk Manager Canary: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/dev-magisk-canary-channel-bleeding-edge-t3839337
Stock Boot Image: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wa...eral/stock-stock-backups-images-otas-t3998227
ADB and Fastboot: https://www.xda-developers.com/what-is-adb/
Prerequisites:
Personally, I had issues getting my PC to recognize the tablets in Fastboot mode. The drivers wouldn't install. This might be optional for some of you, but I thought I'd include it just in case.
Installing MTK Fastboot Drivers from the link above
If you plugin your device in fastboot mode and your PC doesn't recognize it, follow these steps. If it did, skip this part.
1.) Download the drivers above and unzip the Zip file somewhere on your PC (desktop or My Documents is easiest)
2.) Boot your Tablet into Fastboot Mode by holding Vol + and Power, then select Fastboot from the Menu
*NOTE* There is a bug with these tablet's that the volume buttons are mislabeled. Really dumb, but I guess that's why they were 55 bucks for the 10 inch on black friday
3.) Plug the device into your PC and open Device Manager by pressing WinKey+R and typing devmgmt.msc, hit Enter
4.) If there's an Other Device listed called Android, follow these steps. If it isn't there, follow the next set of steps
5.) Open a Command Prompt window as Admin and type the following command
Code:
bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on
6.) Hit enter, then restart your PC
7.) Once the PC is restarted, make sure your tablet is connected in Fastboot mode and open Device Manager again
8.) Right click Android under Other Devices and select Update Drivers
9.) Click the Browse my Computer for driver software button and select the MTK Folder you extracted from the download link above
10.) From there, you can open command prompt, type fastboot devices and see if your tablet shows up and move on to root!
Unlocking your Bootloader
From here, you can unlock your bootloader very easily to Root your device
This will wipe all data off the tablet!
0.) Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging on the tablet by going to Settings->About and tap Build Number 7 times. From here, enter the new Developer Options that unlock and turn on OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.
1.) Boot your tablet into Fastboot mode and connect it to your PC
2.) Open a Command Prompt window and type the following command, then hit enter
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
3.) Follow the instructions on screen to unlock your bootloader
4.) Now Boot your device and we'll move on to making a rooted Boot Image
Creating a Rooted Boot Image with Magisk Manager
0.) Make sure you already have Wifi setup and connected before the first time you open Magisk Manager on your device! Make sure it auto connects as well
1.) Download Magisk Manager Canary from the link above
2.) Install it to your device
3.) Download boot Image from the Stock Boot Image part of the Prerequisites above and put the boot.img on your devices internal memory
4.) Open Magisk Manager and select Install Magisk
5.) Select Patch File and select the boot.img from your internal storage
6.) Once its done patching the image, take magisk_patched.img from the downloads folder of your device and move it onto your PC
7.) Boot your tablet into Fastboot mode and plug it into your PC
8.) Open Command Prompt and type the following command and hit enter (make sure you know your magisk_patched.img file location)
Code:
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
9.) Reboot the device and you'll be Rooted!
Optional Steps like Modules and Debloating
My basic debloat script: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wa...s-general/root-walmart-bloat-remover-t4011639
Will be testing GSI roms on the spare 7 inch and will list those here
Recommended Magisk Modules:
Viper4Android Legacy
FDE.AI
MagiskHide Props Config
Systemless Hosts
Youtube Vanced Black
Magisk Setting to Enable:
Magisk Hide
Rename Magisk Manager App (keeps app from detecting magisk root)
Credits:
Myself for this root method @byproxy for reminding me to add the steps for OEM Unlock and enabling wifi before opening Magisk Manager for the first time
I'll start this off saying i'm an amateur at this, but I cannot for the life of me get an option to show up in magisk to patch the boot image even though it's on my 7" tablet. Any thoughts?
The bootloader was unlocked and it was successful so that's not the issue.
Are you online? I had the same problem.

Sorry, been a busy few days, but make sure you're connected to Wifi, close Magisk Manager, then reopen it and you'll be good to go!

Forced factory reset should do it. There is small pin hole near the power button. I believe pressing this hidden button(with a Sim card ejector, or paper clip).
If pressing does not do anything. Maybe press the button then hold power button too

Thank you for responding so fast. I've boot into recovery mode /wiped everything...its back to factory. The pinhole reset button does nothing other than reboot it . Ive tried all combos to with the reset button but nothing. Also i've read that its possible to use odin? if i can get it into download mode.
Ive downloaded the stock rom posted on an sdcard wondering if i can possibly update in recovery mode? Im sorta a newb at this stuff. I've been reading for 4 days on this matter. I've practiced a root on an old tablet with success. I guess at this point unless i can sell it as is giving the customer that it has this frp lock on it. If the know how to fix it so be it. Im not sure there is a working solution for frp bypass on these tablets.

This is an mtk device not Samsung. So there is no Odin or download mode. There is spflash tool, and preloader.
And if you flash firmware (with default frp partition) then frp lock is cleared.
But you will have to find that file. It maybe in the stock firmwares that are shared, I do not know.
EDIT:
i was having issues but figure it out. maybe it should be so common knowledge that it shouldn't need to be included as a step, but since i don't do this THAT often i didn't think about it and it took me a bit to figure out why i was having issues.
once you get your computer to recognize your device (mine did without needing to mess with any drivers) you need to first make sure to got into the tablet settings -> about and then tap on the build number 7 times to access developer options. then you need to go into developer options and turn on OEM Unlocking & USB Debugging.
THEN follow the guide to unlock bootloader.
then (since the tablet is factory reset once you unlock) do the above AGAIN to turn USB Debugging back on after you reboot.
also note that you need to have an internet connection on the tablet to utilize magisk. once you got all that square, then continue on with steps for full root.
hope that helps!

I did not realize I didn't include that step. Total noob mistake when typing a tutorial up for android. I do this almost daily at work, so I forget to include it

I was able to remove FRP lock on one of mine by flashing the stock rom with SP Flash Tool. I used the full wipe and download selection with every partition selected including boot.
no worries! i didn't think about it either until i was having issues. thanks for the tutorial... it was super helpful!! btw it definitely works on the 8" tablet.
Hello! I'm new to all of this, but what I'm trying to accomplish is removing the Google account from this tablet and putting a new image on the ONA19TB002, ONA19TB003, ONA19TB007, Surf 7 and 10 tablets. I followed all of the steps as far as installing the drivers. I had to go through hoops to get the MediaTek Drivers installed, but I have a "warning" cone by it. I haven't been able to find any resolution to this. Any help would be appreciated. I' have a Windows 10 64-bit system that I'm using and the tablet I'm specifically working on at the moment is the ONN ONA19TB003 tablet. The tablet is not being recognized by my laptop when I run the 'fastboot devices' command in PowerShell. Is there something that I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Personally, I avoid PowerShell at all costs. This kinda stuff has always just seemed to work better with CMD.exe instead of Powershell.
These tablets are kind of a nightmare for this. If you've done the mediatek drivers and still have the warning cone icon, I'm not sure what's next as I haven't hit that wall myself. All I can maybe recommend is right click delete drivers in Device Manager, then start over with the driver install
Removing the Google Account would be needing a FRP Bypass. Someone above stated "I was able to remove FRP lock on one of mine by flashing the stock rom with SP Flash Tool. I used the full wipe and download selection with every partition selected including boot. " so if you can get it recognized, try that

Ok, thank you! This is a shot in the dark, but in order for ADB to work, USB debugging has to be enabled. I can't do that as the tablet is locked by FRP and I have looked countless times on Google and MSN to see if it's possible. Do you have any tips for that?
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but for some reason I can't seem to get. The tablet to stay in fastboot mode. It just says waiting for device.

Sorry for late reply. Been away from home with work. When fastboot mode indicates "waiting for device," it generally means that your device is not properly communicating with your PC or laptop. This is nearly always due to missing or incorrect drivers 9n your computer. There are several comprehensive guides here on XDA for installing necessary ADB & Fastboot drivers.
installed magisk manager on onn 8 and also have img zip but win i go to patch it magisk manager crashes
when you mean patch boot img do mean to unzip file on onn 8
