Is it possible to run the last version of Google Maps in this phone? I used to love some of the labs and preferred the UI. If so anybody got the apk?

you have to uninstall the stock version first!
2 weeks ago I put the same question in a german forum.
No answer
I tried to install the last good one 6.14.4
No chance, can't install, can't remove the original version.
I think, we need root for remove a system apk!?
The only Apk that you can install is a modified version like
brut maps or worldwide navigation mod.
Last Version found by myself is the 6.5.0 worldwide mod.
Now I have the new Maps 7.3 and the very old 6.5.0 installed and booth works at the same time
Maybe someone has a newer cracked version for us?

I have the apk from an earlier post (thanks). It will not install over the version that comes on the phone. I cannot uninstall the factory version since it is a system app.
Does the old 6.5 maps have the lab that measures distance? That is the thing I'm really looking for. I loved the most recent versions of navigation and maps (6.14?) But I found the post explaining that it won't work. I don't think I was crazy about 6.5. I probably have the apk for that saved in my rooted tbolt. I also loved the feature in which you tap the location button twice and maps rotate to whatever direction you're heading without manually rotating the map with your fingers. I don't think that is in 6.5 either.

I will check my tbolt to see if I have that version. When you have both stock and 6.5 installed how can you tell which is which?

You need a modified version of 6.5.0, not the standard maps apk.
You can't install the standard apk!
You can't Uninstall the original maps apk!
You can choose the app that you want, or you get a Selection, which App you want to use.
You will see it.

OK, now I understand. I will pm you with my email addy. Thanks for the gracious offer to email the apk to me. Was the original source one you trust? Usually I only download stuff here from developers who are well known to be safe sources. I trust you. I just don't know the source of the original hack.

I'm not sure, but it works fine since 29.9.2013 and Virus Scanner told no bad things
I search many hours and I don't remember where I found this apk.
I only remember that many people used this and no bad comments.

It keeps asking me to log in but then won't accept my account by saying maps already has an account with that name. When I make up a bogus account it does the same thing.

When i pull it down it shows a sign in box I confirmed the lsid. It just kept doing it.
Maybe different in Europe?

Need some help with screen share for my note 3. I have a lg smart tv lb6350. When i try to connect my phone with the tv, it just says that the connection failed.
Im using the S5 rom on the phone. Could that effect anything?
I also tried the screen mirror patch on the play store. Didnt work
Any help would be awsome.

It sure could be the reason that you're using s5 rom. Did you look at the rom thread for kown issues?

Couldn't find anything on the thread. Is there another way to fix the problem other than just installing another rom?
And my badd about the second post. I only put it there cas i thought this was in the wrong section.
I remember reading something about problems with screen mirroring and s5 rom on note 3 maybe someone can tell for sure but I'd say you have to change the rom
