Build from source, add a few of your own unique mods in and make it different to all the other ROMs
Usual thing really, which you know about from the s3 days

Need beta testers :)

Hi Future Galaxy S II users. I am webstar1, a well known dev in the galaxy s forums. I don't know when this phone is coming out but I will need beta testers as I will make a rom for u lot carrying on ultimate rom to its successor. My contract doesn't finish until 12 months so I wont be getting one. So I need 2 or 3 future users who will beta test for me until I gather the funds (yea im saving donations not spending on drinks) for the phone. U don't need to know anything other than know how to use clockwork recovery (when it comes out for u lot ) . So yea good day everyone.
i know ill be grabbing this phone so hit me up
sounds promising! PM sent
Sounds good, I look forward to anything the devs want to work on
Ok then
I would also be willing to help, I've beta tested Roms in the past.

I don't do porting and don't expect a stable release if it. The first galaxy still has a alpha port.

I plan on getting this phone, though I'll wait a week or two after it's out in the UK (to read reviews and such, make sure everything's okay!) and I'd be happy to try out ROMs, I love flashing!
I'll help you!

I will be getting this phone so add me in as a Beta Tester.

[Q] Is a touchwiz 4 rom possible?

would there be anyway that someone could make a touchwiz 4 rom, i think that if people can make a sense 3.0 sensation port that so can a galaxy s 2 rom, If i knew anything about rom porting i would be making my own roms, But that aint going to happen any time soon . thanks A.Davies
Please don't post the same question in different forums.
I would imagine porting a touchwiz rom is possible, the main reason why it hasn't been done, is probably lack of interest from the community.
Personally I think touchwiz is nothing special.

heh, you asked me to do a touchwiz 4 port ;D
i dont see whats so good about it though? xD
Yeah i know i shouldnt of posted them in both of them but i wasnt sure witch one to do so i saved time by doing both of them. If anyone can give my any guide to porting roms ill do it myself and if it yeilds any results ill upload it on here.
I know u can just install the toucjizz launcher and get at least somewhat a touchjizz rom. Other than that I think your SOL

Ive tried the touchwiz launchers ( all of them ) but there nothing like it, very buggy
Maybe you can do it with that rom kitchen thing?

well if anyone could point me in the right direction to a guide to cooking i would be grateful

Looking for a good ROM

Hey guys, how are you?
I bought my SGS3 a few month ago. Since than I've been constantly looking for the best ROM.
I want a ROM with very good battery life, and I also want it to run smoothly.
Version 4.1.2 or above.
Also, if a kernel is necessary please tell me which kernel to use.
Thank you very much,
Orel/Xeiss.

What phone did you had before? I've currently a iPhone 4S and I'm looking to get a galaxy s3 because I'm sick of apple -.- was it easy getting used to? I also plan to install a custom rom as my old HTC was rooted

Unfortunately best ROM threads are banned on XDA and this will be locked shortly , the reason being a certain ROM might be good for you may not be good for someone else.
All as you will be told is to go and try many different one and see which Is best for you.
Good luck.

I've had a Mini Galaxy before (Not the one that was just released)
I personally prefer Android than iOS. It wasn't really hard to get used to, In 1-3 days you'll become a master
If someone would suggest me to get an iPhone 5 instead of my SGS3, he won't live anymore
Ho watch some YouTube videos and decide. Good luck!
BTW thabka for telling me Motogp1, I'll do it. Moderators, if you can please lock this thread without banning me if would be great, I'm new here and I really don't want to get a ban right off the bed Thanks.
Just another last question, what's the difference between the forums Android Development, and Original Android Development?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I would suggest starting with "Android Development" section for ROMs. Try them and find which suits you best.

Best advice anyone can give a newbie is to read first, had the op done so he would have seen these threads are prohibited and also a waste of time.

You can try Ultima ROM. It looks and feels good.
You may try siyah, perseus, boeffla, galaxsih kernel and suit yourself.
Also look for wanam's deodexed stock roms.
Took me about a week to get used to from iPhone was rooted trying custom roms very easy but figured I didn't need all that so now just on stock 4.1.2 and loving it battery life is great.

I'm bored does anyone have some cool stuff to flash? What Rom are you guys running?

This guy must be a troll... The phone has only been out for a few months and there's plenty of good, stable ROMs. ROMs are meant to enhance your phone, not relieve boredom. That's what weed is for... JK

Just delete the thread. Everyone is getting their pants in a wod. Just a opinion also just curious as to what you're running. Peace. God for bid. Just a question.

So I'll take the high road and politely say that I believe there are plenty of quality ROMs and there are some good mods but I would like to see more concentration on modifying blinkfeed to make it more functional.
This is not my area of expertise so I don't criticize those who put in many long hours doing the work but when I find a rom or mod that I like and use I try to contribute to those who have put in the hard work.
MG
So go make a rom...
Useless thread. Closed

looking for a reliable AOSP rom

I am looking for a reliable AOSP rom. im not tryint to start an arguement about who thinks what is better i appreciate all devs and the work they put into their roms. I just am sick of TW and really want to get back to AOSP but with all of the 4.4.2 roms out now their are a lot of issues are there any roms that you guys recommend? (4.3?) Things that i need are MMS and Netflix. Thanks again. And again not wanting to start any arguments.
Everyone has their own opinions and preferences. And each device is different. It's better for you to try it out yourself and find out which one you like. I believe this thread will be lock any time now.

If its locked or deleted thats fine I understand i guess. I was just wondering is all.
