Delay until Q3, that could mean September - ONE General

Unfortunately they've said invites and pre-orders will run into Q3, that being September at the latest (still that's not promised).
Not sure what you guys think but for me I'm thinking Moto x+1 or Nexus 6 territory

i heard march 2013?
March 2013? That's insane. It can't be.
All google said was they have orders that will take them until Janurary to fulfill.
I bet they already sent orders to CHINA to make a new batch for January to sell

Uhhhh... did all the nexus devices get 4.4 yet? If not well I guess that means the Moto X is getting update almost as fast as they are.

Motorola site says began pushing it out as nov 2013
What the? Verizon first? Come on tmobile..
I just switched to sprint for free and sold my us cellular moto x to pay the early termination, im now the proud owner of a moto x on sprint with unlimited data, I was paying so many overages with data as I use it to tether my surface pro. When sprint gets the update can I just unlock bootloader and flash su.zip since the sprint version is available for bootloader unlock?
wtf? Before the gsm unlocked and Dev editions. That too on useless Verizon. What's wrong with the world today?

There is no direct causative evidence pointing to the fact that the NDA was broken and if that was why the soak test was cancelled. However, yes, the soak seems to have been cancelled.
It is plausible that the test was cancelled so that they could begin the general rollout instead; which, if true, is actually a good move by Motorola. I don't see why anyone should be angry that the soak is cancelled in light of the news of the general rollout. Once we have our hands on the update file, we can ADB sideload and profit!

Wow. Some people really will complain about anything. The retail VZW version of the Moto X is the only one that can't be running 4.4 already; Every other one already has a ROM or images or whatever.
Here it is!

Downloading mine too!
This is mind-boggling.
1. It's Verizon
2. It's before several Nexus devices
3. It's before Dev editions
Well, Hope that means my AT&T will be getting it's update soon....
Check for updates, mine is downloading as we speak.. no im not in the soak or any of that
Edit: Download complete, and update is installing.

I think they will update all moto g variants including dual sim, single sim, gpe and 4g. because the hardware is same. only difference is 4g lte and sd card slot.

Yes lets all get excited like we did with kitkat, what a disappointment that turned out to be.

Someone didn't proof read.....

Found this on the display in Kroger today, I guess some one was trying to future proof their ad. It does go to show that android 5.0 is designed to work on weaker devices if it turns out to be true.
Sorry that this isn't specific to our n5, I thought nexus users would find it more interesting than anyone else.

Motorola has already confirmed that the Moto E will get Android 5.0 Lollipop along with other 2014 devices
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949?linkId=10217927
Actually this just shows who doesn't read the news and specifically about which phones are going to be getting Lollipop. Moto E is on the list

Perhaps the OP should have posted it in the moto forums, but I am not him.
I was more posting it in regards to the rollout of android l, or 5.0. It hasn't even been officially released, yet even prepaid providers, like net10 in this case, have already updated their advertising to reflect the change.
In my mind, that directly correlated to meaning many phones being updated quickly and less overall variance of android version across the phone world.
They actually did a small bit of research and they probably didn't want to spend the extra money to redo the features. Technically in saying it'll run an OS that's not even out yet, it implies to anyone technical conscious that it'll be upgradable, thereby making it a better buy. Plus it's good marketing saying "this phone is future proof and will run the OS that's not out quite yet."
If you're discussing the Moto E, it belongs in that forum.
