NEW LGUP Method. This one method can do BOTH TOT & KDZ!! Thanks To @shakeyabooti![/U][/B] Suggested use for the D855 ONLY! Other models use the previous methods.
Notes: This method is REQUIRED for flashing MM KDZ files downgrade from MM or upgrade to MM you must use this new method. Old KDZ method you cannot downgrade from MM.
Download Files - LGUP_LG_G3.zip - 16.9 Mb
KDZ & TOT files Here - http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/
This is the NEW KDZ Method for the LG G3!!! Thanks to @shakeyabooti !!

NEW software!!!!!...... LGUP WILL FLASH YOUR KDZ files
Download LGUP from here: http://oceanhost.eu/545euinlq0hw/LGUP_LG_G3.zip.htm
Install LGUP_8994_DLL first and then LGUP
Make sure you have downloaded the required KDZ file MM or LP
Start LGUP prog on your computer "make sure your phone is plugged in"
If you have a problem that LGUP does not see your LG G3, leave your mobile connected via USB and leave LGUP running, restart your mobile, hopefully this will solve the problem.
TO UPGRADE TO MM from LP - make sure BIN file is ticked and in the File Path point it towards the MM KDZ you have downloaded. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CLICKED UPGRADE! This will update you from LP to MM with out wiping any of your info. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient
TO DO A FULL WIPE AND INSTALL MM - Open the LGUP on your computer. FILE PATH point it towards the MM KDZ.
IMPORTANT!!!!!!! shut down LGUP!
Now open LGUP again - you will notice that the MM KDZ will still be showing in the FILE PATH section. Select REFURBISH and make sure BIN file is ticked. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient
TO GO BACK TO LP FROM MM - Open LGUP on your computer, click on FILE PATH and point it towards your LP KDZ. Close LGUP and re-open LGUP. Make sure you select REFURBISH this will do a full wipe, tick BIN file. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient
If you are worried about losing your data after a full wipe, why not use the LG Bridge software to backup and restore.... it works fine!
YOU WILL LOSE ROOT!
There is no need to enter download mode! LGUP will do it for you.

Hi there! Wonder if you could assist me. I don't have the stock video application to view my movies on my LG G3. Could you please guide me on how to get that application apk and odex file installed on my device?
Many thanks

Too bad HKG version of the rom (D855) is not available as yet, hope this will be available soon.
Many thanks for your hard work on consolidation.

I bought an F400L, but it seems that the Honk Kong shop I bought it from has flashed it with a F400K rom (presumably because it has less bloatware), I am a noob and am wondering if they had to root it to do this (and how do I find out if my phone is still rooted) and if I will still be able to do an official over the air update when LG releases one?

No you can not, you will loose your storage space

Hi, I may just be having a brain fart, but I get lost when I get to these steps:
10) MAKE SURE UNDER, DEVICE MANAGER, YOUR PORT IS SET TO COM 41 FOR YOUR DEVICE.
11) Click the DLL box and choose the dll file from above for you phone model.
10) I'm assuming the device manager is the window underneath the flash tool window? If so, I can't access that window until I'm done with the one on top (the Select Manual Mode window).
11) Since this is a KDZ file, what are the appropriate steps?
Thank you!

[GUIDE] Fix bricked ZE550ML/ZE551ML (USB logo) and install Marshmallow

EDIT3 15/08/2018 - Some links broke. I found a better way to get the files: go to this thread (RAW firmware collection) by RealYoti here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/z008-z00a-z00d-z00x-raw-fw-collection-t3448966
All the files are here and they will never expire
In case of problem I still have the files on my computer, maybe one day I will upload them myself on my web server
EDIT2 07/06/2017 - I updated links. + INFO: My ZE550ML phone bricked again, but this time with no USB logo and no vibration at boot. The only tutorial that worked for me is the one from Tech YouTubers channel (click to go to their YouTube channel). Please check their tutorials, in case they made a new one. Try multiple tutorials, for me only an older one worked: this one! (during the video tutorial, I was somehow blocked after flashing img files: black screen. But, I managed to run my own guide again, and this time it worked! The video says to flash ZE551ML xFSTK file on ZE550ML device, and flash ZE550ML xFSTK file on ZE551ML device. It allowed me to boot my device on fastboot but it prevented me to boot Android after flashing the correct ZE550ML img, so I had to flash, normally without reversing files, xFSTK ZE550ML config on my ZE550ML to make it work, then use my guide. good luck You can also try directly my "standard" tutorial below, or trying it after trying the Tech YouTuber's one, hoping finally you'll unbrick your device
EDIT 03/09/2016: Updated RAW links, taken from amtech.vn. and new ZIP files from ASUS.com
Hello, just after solving my problem I wrote a guide of everything I did to unbrick my ZenFone 2 ZE550ML (bricked after installing OTA update for Marshmallow Beta).
This is a "duplicate" of my last post on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3405331
because I want to help people who are trying to unbrick their ZenFone 2 ZE550ML or ZE551ML
Here is a detailed guide of everything I did to unbrick a Marshmallow ZE550ML stuck on USB logo with lost bootloader without losing any data or setting, everything like before bricking in my case (except settings of some non-system apps, can't figure out why) :
(Note: I recommend you to charge your ZenFone for a few hours as soon as you'll get fastboot menu at step 1, so it will not shutdown... Even if it's not turning on the orange LED, it's charging )
(WARNING : these are the steps I had to do in order to unbrick MY phone without losing data and installing Marshmallow. For your phone some steps might be unnecessary, if you're lucky... I know this is a very long guide but I had to do this in MY case)
(The whole guide is a "modified" version of this guide by Summit007s)
Step 1. Flash basic bootloader with xFSTK Downloader to boot fastboot
I had, first, to switch to advanced startup with support for unsigned drivers (video tutorial here),
install Asus USB drivers (link to Asus USB drivers here - note: video tutorial to install drivers from inf (the inf file for the driver is Android\android_winusb.inf) (repeat for every device available : ADB Interface, Bootloader Interface, etc...) )
and IntelSocUSB driver (link to IntelSocUSB driver 1.2.0 - Note: Before finishing IntelSocUSB setup it will ask you to configure a device : you'll have to connect your ZenFone 2 using an USB cable to your computer, while it's displaying USB logo, and WAIT FOR DETECTION IN Device Manager as "Moorefield device" under "Intel Soc" section),
to flash a fastboot bootloader (link to xFSTK_ZE550ML-sal358-amtech.vn for ZE550ML / link to xFSTK_ZE551ML-sal358-amtech.vn for ZE551ML) using xFSTK Downloader (link to xFSTK Downloader 1.7.0)
(guides for everything in this step 1: english version - same in vietnamese with screenshots and valid links - detailed PDF for xFSTK with screenshots). => phone boots on fastboot
Step 2. Flash a lollipop ROM (or Marshmallow raw image from the raw fw collection but I did not test it) with Asus Flash Tool to repair fastboot info (like serial number) and access recovery if you want to install Marshmallow from a zip
In order to get a working recovery menu (because I found a zip for Marshmallow but no raw, I'll have to install a recovery),
I had to install Asus Flash Tool (NEW link to Asus Flash Tool 1.0.0.45),
UPDATE Some links broke so I suggest you to download the raw firmware from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/z008-z00a-z00d-z00x-raw-fw-collection-t3448966, there are Marshmallow raw firmware so you can skip step 3. I havent tried myself for now.
flash a raw file (go download it from the raw collection) on ZenFone 2 ZE550ML using Asus Flash Tool (Model: ZE550ML - wipe data : no)
OR FOR A ZE551ML flash a raw file (NEW link to WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.184_20160504.raw) on ZenFone 2 ZE551ML using Asus Flash Tool (Model: ZE551ML - wipe data : no)
(guides for everything in this step 2: english version - same in vietnamese with screenshots and valid links)
BUT because Asus Flash Tool will wipe everything except user data and change your serial number from 0123456789ABCDEF to your legit serial number, flashing will NOT work and process will be ENDLESS because serial number has changed so phone is not found and you're not warned of that by Asus Flash Tool.
After 20 minutes of "OKAY" status displayed in green text on your phone, after 20 minutes of "a500cgfastboot.exe" running in task manager,
I think you can safely unplug USB cable, abort Asus Flash Tool by closing this software, killing "a500cgfastboot.exe",
don't restart the phone, just plug it back to your computer and reopen ASUS FLASH TOOL (notice serial number change in ASUS FLASH TOOL) and flash again with same settings but the new serial number (different from 0123456789ABCDEF).
This flash should work, after an hour or less you'll see in Asus Flash Tool that it's finished.
If it did not work, then you can reboot the phone and try again
Step 3. Flash Marshmallow zip with adb sideload, if you didn't installed it with a raw at step 2
Finally, you'll have to shut down your phone,
boot in recovery mode (guide is here),
connect it to computer, select "apply update from adb",
install adb (link to ADB Installer 1.4.3 - Note: install it system-wide but don't install Android USB drivers) on your computer,
download zip OTA for Marshmallow (NEWEST official link to UL-Z008-WW-4.21.40.191-user.zip for ZE550ML / NEWEST official link to UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.223-user.zip for ZE551ML),
open a command prompt in the folder where you downloaded files (using "File > Open command prompt > Open command prompt" in the Windows Explorer's ribbon), then type :
Code:
adb devices
to verify that your phone is detected (you should see your serial number in cmd),
then type the following command to flash Marshmallow stock (zip is NOT pre-rooted if you want to root you'll have to do it after) :
ZE550ML
Code:
adb sideload UL-Z008-WW-4.21.40.191-user.zip
ZE551ML
Code:
adb sideload UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.223-user.zip
It may take a while decompressing then sending to phone. Then select "wipe cache partition" in your recovery menu,
wait until you see again the menu (so, wait until end of wiping cache), and select "reboot").
If you want more details for each step, just ask in the comments! Don't forget to read the other guides linked in the steps (for example, the one for xFSTK)
Now pray, and your device SHOULD magically boot the latest beautiful stock Marshmallow ROM from Asus, with all your data (except, maybe, settings of some non-system apps), exactly like before you bricked it.
It worked for me, but with the right new files it should work perfectly for you...
I hope you'll appreciate this "googling" work
Thank you
Thank you for sharing this information dude.. This is a helpful one.. It will surely be of greater use soon..
Thanks man u saved my zenfone 2 ze550ml. I tried various tutorial and videos but things didnt work as old files for z008 didnt work. You got the right files and steps. Cheers and keep up the good work
Hopefully this puts an end to all new unbricking threads *thumbs up*
password doesnt work for the flash tool anymore?

Hello,
I just tried it again and I can confirm that www.asus-zenfone.com is the right password for the archive, as seen on the original website :
http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2015/12/download-asus-flashtool-10014-for-windows.html
Download the RAR on your computer and open it : your archive opener software will ask you for the password only if you want to extract file. You can still see the list of file without password
Currently stuck at the end of step 1. :crying: any recommendations? Uploaded a picture of where xFSTK says as an error.

Theres vid tutorial in my signature thats shows this and also how to restore serial :good:
THANK YOU !

BUT because Asus Flash Tool will wipe everything except user data and change your serial number from 0123456789ABCDEF to your legit serial number, flashing will NOT work and process will be ENDLESS because serial number has changed so phone is not found and you're not warned of that by Asus Flash Tool.
After 20 minutes of "OKAY" status displayed in green text on your phone, after 20 minutes of "a500cgfastboot.exe" running in task manager,
I think you can safely unplug USB cable, abort Asus Flash Tool by closing this software, killing "a500cgfastboot.exe",
rebooting phone (notice serial number change in fastboot info on phone's screen) and flash again with same settings but the new serial number (different of 0123456789ABCDEF).
This flash should work, after an hour or less you'll see in Asus Flash Tool that it's finished.

What is worked for me :
1°) Using XFSTK > -- Do not hesitate to use another computer OR Reinstall only XFSTK (Change the Folder too) if you are "ATTEMPTING #20" / "errors encountered during download. aborting" / "firmware download completed. continuing to os" --- i had these msg then i shutdown the phone an plug it to his power for all the night then it worked at first try
Then you are on "Weird Flag" then BOOTLOADER with "123456789ABCD"
2°) Use Asus FlashTool with the RAW File (WIPE : NO)> DO NOT REBOOT THE PHONE After it says "RESULT : OKAY" on the Phone
-Close Asus FlashTools only (do not close the task - VIDEO : https:// bambuser.com/v/6355633)
-Relaunch Asus FlashTools
-UNPLUG the USB Cable then Plug it back directly
-Wait 10 sec -> You will have your serial number on Asus FlashTools
>>> Reuse your RAW File with Wipe Yes then it Works
I even use ADB Sideload to upgrade to MM
Thanks A LOT for bringing back to life my ZENFONE 2

Step 3. Flash Marshmallow zip with adb sideload, if you didn't installed it with a raw at step 2
Finally, you'll have to shut down your phone,
boot in recovery mode (guide is here),
connect it to computer, select "apply update from adb",
install adb (link to ADB Installer 1.4.3 - Note: install it system-wide but don't install Android USB drivers) on your computer,
download zip OTA for Marshmallow (NEW official link to UL-Z008-WW-4.21.40.112-user.zip for ZE550ML / NEW official link to UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.134-user.zip for ZE551ML),
open a command prompt in the folder where you downloaded files (using "File > Open command prompt > Open command prompt" in the Windows Explorer's ribbon), then type :
adb devices (null)

Not work in my case with this recovery: twrp-3.0.2-0-Z00A.img
Man, i am so ****ing happy.. My phone wasn't available for 2 weeks and this was a very bad experience for me. I fixed it because of you. Thank you so so so much!
Stuck in the first step!
Hello, currently my ASUS Zenfone 2 is bricked because I tried flashing the released Android Marshmallow ROM on TWRP.
After 10 minutes of flashing my device abruptly shut down and now it can't even show anything on the screen when I turn it on (phone still buzzes but not even a dead android icon is shown--just dark unlit screen).
I followed your instructions and I got stuck in step 1 when trying to install the drivers using PowerShell. I was able to install the .inf from the folders "MTP" and "tethering" but the one in "android".
May I have some assistance to the next step gentlemen?
I believe because of this my computer could only detect my phone as the "Moorefield Device" for more than a second.
Thank you,
Tom

Unbricking LG G4 H818P during Nougat downgrade/LGUP error 0x2000/LG Flash Tool 2014 unable to connect to server/LG G4 H818P Lollipop and MarshMallow Upgrade to Nougat
Hi Guys,
I recently got an LG G4 H818P running Lollipop and decided to upgrade to MarshMallow via OTA. I couldn't root it or upgrade to Nougat so I downgraded to Lollipop then followed @hochocnua's tutorial to accomplish this. I struggled with some of the instructions so I recompiled his instructions for Downgrade and Upgrade
I experienced problems when trying to downgrade from Nougat to MarshMallow and the phone was stuck in Download Mode. LGUP failed to install all TOT or KDZ files I could find usually failing at 11%, 18%, 25% or exiting with an error 0x2000. LG Flash Tool 2016 and LG Flash Tool 2015 failed to recognise COM ports. LG Flash Tool 2014 recognised ports and began installation but failed with an error "unable to connect to server" or "an unexpected error occured".

Wow!
Thank you very much !!! This is only one method which worked to me. I have tried ALL methods with different flashing programs and different dlls, drivers and so on !
Just wanted to tell others that if you recover to above version v20o then you can flash to that one which not worked before. I returned from ported Nougat to above 20o and next to my old best 20d EUR.
God bless you ! I thought I will be sending bricked phone to LG service.
fix thar error as if it were a hard brick.
hi everyone
for the people who have not been able to recover the phone due to this error and you still have the device
I have been able to repair it as if it were a hard brick.
enter in this page to follow the installation process in windows.
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f779/unbrick-lg-g4-brick-hs-usb-qdloader-9008-without-box-2211744/
the process i did with windows 7.
when the program has flashed the files you have to install the kdz with lgup.
in my case the g4 h815 device (Europe General H81510B_00.kdz), in the refurbish mode.
this error happens because downloads from android 7 to android 6.
for greater efficiency uninstall everything related to lg first follow the process the website and then
install lg up and dll.
if you need files contact with me.
---------- Post added at 09:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:50 PM ----------
for the error sahara fail, copy the recovery files in the bin folder of qpst.
i used qpst 2.7.425., before use a previous version.
What is the
decryption key ?
Is there anyway of changing phone model version in about/settings as it shows wrong model in my case. I have H818P but it shows H818N. It happened when I flashed V29a N of H815 for H818P.
I tried flashing stock LP V10i, V10d, V20h kdz and tot as well but phone model won't change it stays as H818N.
Anyway of changing it back to stock as H818P..?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

9. It should take some time. if it happens in a few seconds, you aren't doing it right
10. After it is done, type "LEAVE" and hit enter. Your phone should now reboot.
Step 3: Installing Android 7 (Nougat)
1. Install Flash Fire.apk
2. Launch it and grant superuser access
3. Copy the Nougat zip to root of internal storage
4. Press the "+" and select the "Flash ZIP or OTA"
5. Navigate the internal memory, select the Nougat zip
6. Then select the "Flash" option

[UsU] [G4] UsU Removal and Relock TOT Method

UsU Removal and Unbricking Method for ARB 02 Devices
WARNING: THIS METHOD IS FOR DEVICES ON ARB=2 **ONLY**!!!!!
ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE FOR FOLLOWING YOUR GUIDE, IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU'RE DEVICE IS BRICKED DURING THIS GUIDE!
INFO:
While trying to fix my bricked LG G4 VS986, I accidentally figured out a method to fix a stuck on bootscreen firmware, and at the same time, remove UsU. Unfortunately, after messaging back and forth with SteadFasterX, he confirmed that this method will only work on ARB=2 LG G4's, Meaning that models H815, H812, H818, H819, F500 Will not work, and NEVER WILL WORK, at least not with this method.
That being said, your warranty is obviously already void if you have UsU, and if you don't, WHY ARE YOU HERE lol
Also, if you have a frankenstein device (device labeled and shown as a certain model, with a different model motherboard), I have no idea if this guide will work for you, although it did for my frankenstein device, at the loss of cell service. But no guarantees!
So lets get right into it!
REQUIREMENTS:
- UsU Bootloader Unlocked LG G4
- Your device must have a firmware available (doesn't have to be currently installed) with an ARB value of 2 ... Anything else, and your device WILL brick
- Patience and the understanding that if you brick your device, it IS NOT my fault
REQUIRED DOWNLOADS
- TOT file for YOUR device model (not our gpt compatible model, your model under the battery model)
You can find some tot files here (make sure you select the TOT FILE, not the kdz, or else this guide will not work): TOT Files
Or if you have the verizon variant, you can use the file i used, here
And if you can't stand the slow download speeds, look up Fshare premium link generator on google, and I never said that, mods (XD)
- LGUP and UPPERCUT tool (BOTH REQUIRED!!!)
You can download LGUP and the UPPERCUT tool from here
- QFIL and RESTORE FILES (I know, calm down)
You will need to download, as well as install, the qualcomm drivers, and a few unbrick firehose files, both of which can be found here
INSTALLATION:
Step 1:
Download and Extract the RAR file for your ORIGINAL (not GPT compatible) G4 model. For me, it was the VS986. I recommend you make a folder on your desktop, and extract all the files you download right to the root of it.
Step 2:
Download and extract the LGUP and UPPERCUT tool from the above Google Drive link, making sure to install the dll .msi installer, and then the LGUP setup.
Step 3:
Extract the UPPERCUT tool and navigate to the UPPERCUT.exe file extracted. Connect your phone in download mode by powering it down, then holding volume up while plugging the phone into your computer. Open the UPPERCUT.exe file, and wait for LGUP to show up
Step 4:
In the list of options below the list of connected devices, make sure that "PARTITION DL" is selected. Find the line below the list of options that says bin file. Double-click it, and select the TOT file you downloaded earlier. Click "Start", and when a window with a list of partitions appears, just tick "Select All" and click "OK"
Step 5:
The firmware should flash. If it throws an error out at you, double check that you selected "Partition DL", and that you have the LG Mobile USB drivers installed on your computer.
Once it is done flashing, your phone will be in a bricked state. DO NOT WORRY!!! We will fix this next
Step 6:
Your phone should go into Qualcomm HSUSB Dloader 9008 Mode after the flash is complete. This is what is SUPPOSED to happen, and means things are going in the direction they should be going in the process. Read on
Step 7:
Now download the QFIL files from the download link above. Extract them to the folder previously created on the desktop. Install the "INSTALL FIRST - DRIVERS.exe" file, then reboot your computer. Navigate to the "QFIL" folder, in the same directory as the file you just installed. Run "QFIL.exe", NOT AS ADMINISTRATOR, ELSE YOU WILL FAIL, and make sure your port is showing at the top. If it is not, click "select port", and click on the Qualcomm 9008 port, and click "ok". Under "Select Build Type", click "Flat Build".
Step 8:
Under "Select Programmer", click browse, and navigate to the "Unbrick LG G4 QFIL" folder in the same directory as the QFIL folder you extracted, and select the "prog_emmc_firehose_8992_lite.mbn" file. Then, under "Download", click "Load XML", and just click the first file in the window that pops up for each XML file it asks for (should be "rawprogram0.xml" first, and "patch0.xml" second). Once you select those files, click download. Wait for it to finish, it may take up to two minutes.
Step 9:
Once its done, you should see the LG logo on your device's display. Do not do anything, including moving the device, just to be safe, until you see the android setup screen. Once you see the android setup screen, your device may get stuck on "checking connection", just wait two minutes until the skip button appears, and you'll be good. If you want, you can now flash an official KDZ file for your device, as there may be some mods done to some of those TOT files, as I am not the creator of them.
Step 10:
That's it, you're done! Once you get to the setup screen, you are on your device's original firmware, and your bootloader is once again locked. If you found this guide helpful, consider thanking me and donating to me via paypal by clicking here

did you use the UPPERCUT tool to open LGUP, rather than using the regular lgup shortcut? That's the only way to make the PARTITION DL option appear. Make sure you also have installed the lgup dll .msi setup program before running uppercut. let me know how it goes
there are dangerous and non- trustable qfil files on web be carefull your devices my convert to ls991 or f500l!! (because mine was before)and never back to network connection again

Actually the files you posted have some KMS threats, according to my AV sw anyway.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73051003&postcount=32 allows me to have a patched dev Lgup. I even do not need to do anything to unbrick! It was not bricked and I was back to the rooted stock LP, unUsUed in 1 step, using the patched LGUP dev and your tot file, flashed using Partition DL, well at least it worked for my VS986.
using uppercut all i have is the 4 normal settings . If i patch the dll i get the rest but lgup.dll .0.3.2 will not finish flashing stops at 16% (boot). reinstall lgup and extract Lg-up.dll .0.0 .4 from vs9862ba.kdz, lg up flashes fine with the 4 settings but when patch is applied it states *unknown .dll version*.
help please

It is way deeper than that, what you have to do is download the firmware, extract it into a folder then flash all the key components via adb, that worked for me.
flashed the VS98613B_Fix_Global_by_Lamlazy .tot it did not brick my device .. simply installed and powered on...
If i understand. qfil files for F500 available??
So it means F500 can be un unlocked right?
post #5 says device may converted to ls991 or f500.
I think that F500 is still non fusing device even after USU. So it can flash ARB 0 KDZs. I'm bit confused???

Never ever mess with qfil unless you understand fully the technical details about how this tool is working and how ****ing dangerous it is to use it. There are no valid files for your model available so even when they are named for the f500 I can't say it often enough do not use it! Also as already said in the other thread your device arb and non fusing has nothing to do with the model number as it's not that easy.
You can unlock your device by UsU and when you have a fusing device like 90% have than you can't relock afterwards
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs
after relocking using this method can re-usu-unlock be achieved again ?

[GUIDE] How to root, install TWRP, ROMs and mods on a G3s/G3 beat d722 in 2020?

*After I wrote this whole thing as a DM i figured it might be helpful for a couple of people that are struggeling to root and install a custom recovery on their d722.*
Before we start you will need a PC with internet connection and a USB cable.
If you get stuck or need something about the device you can find it here. It's an XDA thread about the d722, it's mods, roms... : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/lg-g3s-beat-d722-thread-t3110048
First you will need to flash your phone back to 4.4 kitkat firmware to ensure maximum compatibility (this is the only way my device would root) ( find it here: https://lg-firmwares.com/ (type in your model and download a 4.4 firmware closet to your region, language...)). We will do that with the lg flash tool (find it here: https://lgflash.com/download/) + also install lg drivers if you don't have them already (https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-mobile-drivers-and-software-CT10000027-20150179827560).
1. First enable developer options in phone settings by tapping the build number 7 times. Go to the developer options and there tick usb debugging. Than you want to turn you device off. Hold volume up and plug it into you computer. You will get into download mode. On your PC extract and open the lg flash tool. There you will chose your kdz firmware file you downloaded previously and click normal fash. Choose other instead of korean and your preferred language. When you flash it the tool might report an error but just ignore it and wait for the phone to reach 100% download. It will reboot itself when finished. After that you can close the flash tool and continue to the next step.
2. Now you will root your phone. You will do that with lg one click root (found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951). Download the latest GUI version, install it onto your PC and open it. When your redy plug your phone into the computer (turned on no apps open) and click start. Wait for it to be done. It's normal for it to restart a few times.
3. Now we will instal the custom recovery to be able to flash ROMs. To do that you will need to dowbload this zip file from here and extract it with 7zip (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61220755&postcount=100) and install ADB (remeber install folder) (from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979). Paste aboot file into /sdcard folder (or folder of choice with adjusted path in command) ob your phone uding file manager. Than open CMD and type in
cd *path of your folder*
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
If you get an error that says there is no aboot file or something similar than you nees to change this command : dd if= *your phones path*/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot For me it was : dd if=/external_SD/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
4. This should have installed a basic version of TWRP on your phone ane booted into twrp recovery but we will be updating it.
To get into recovery from off state hold volume down + power button until you see the LG logo. Relese both for a split second and hold both down again (volume down + power) until you see an option to factory reset (wont actualy reset anything if you did all steps correctly). Click yes and yes again by using volume and power buttons and you will be booted to TWRP.
Alternative is to go to playstore and download root app that boots you to recovery if you do it often.
This version is quite old and not capable of flashing newer ROMs so we will be flashing an updated version (download it here: https://vasy.ru/TWRP/jagnm/ and rename it to .img if it isnt named like that alredy). Easiest way is to download it to your PC and transfer it via USB if your PC detects the phone while in TWRP. If not boot it up transfer the files and boot back to recovery. Now just flash the .img file and reboot.
5. At this point you have root privilages (super SU) and a custom recovery. Now all theres left to do is to flash ROMs and mods.
You boot to TWRP recovery, connect your phone to the PC and transfer the .zip files you want to flash. Tha you click flash in twrp chose your ROM files and click add more, your GAPPS click add more and the mod (if you want to try it of course). Than you flash them, wair for it to finish and click reboot.
If it takes longer than 15 min+ than you probaboy have a bootloop. To fix it take out the battery put it back in and boot into recovery (volume down + power until LG logo pops up, release for half a second hold again, yes and yes). Try factory reseting (type yes). And than just flash the ROM and boot. If it boots go back to recovery and flash GAPPS and mod and it should normaly boot into android.
If nothing fixes your issue you can alway use the firmware and lgflashtool to go back to default unrooted kitkat or lolipop.
My recomendations:
I personaly use this liniage (14.1) 7.1 ROM as it's still getting updates (I also tried 8.1 but it's buggy, laggy and gapps don't work):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-lg-g3s-t3508224
And of course you want google apps to go along with it:
https://opengapps.org/ (pick ARM, android version of ROM (7.1 in this case) and how many preinstalled apps (I use nano))
I also have this mod installed which makes colours of your display a bit better:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6z9yg1d3gooyz37/Sony_Bravia_3.zip
From here you can also get Exposed framework, root apps like LSpeed to speed up your phone even more, greenfy and amplify to improve battery life. Again every mod for this phone along with overclocking and other mods is or was discussed here at one point so dont be afraid to join the conversation in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/lg-g3s-beat-d722-thread-t3110048
And ofcourse google is your friend if you get into any issues. Hope this helps, typed it on my G3s .
Thanks

It would be better for our phone to release an android 9 custom, it would be great. Here is the same phone as our processor and video accelerator. Android 9 would work great on our phone https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=633150&view=findpost&p=36961339
Thanks for the guide!
I bought a G3s D722 cheap off ebay to experiment with. I tried to flash four different kitkat roms many times on 2 computers and each time the phone went into boot loop (start tune and logo over and over) so I flashed the first UK Lollipop on the list and all went fine, there are not UK kitkat roms in the link.
The UK kitkat roms must be different is all I can determine anyone know where I can get one?
The preflash OS was V20e-EUR-XX and now its V20d
Any thoughts or suggestions anyone?
Thanks!
I couldn't get this to work so tried the very easy no PC method in the link and it works great!
