Custom Recovery For Locked Razr M - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a Custom Recovery For a Locked Razr M I'm on 4.4.2.
I'm rooted.

Any reason you don't want to just unlock?

Yes, assuming you rooted with Towelroot, Motopocalypse exploit works again.

Yeah I check out that link asap, and already unlocked !
Now I just need TWRP or Rom Manager and finally put cm on this thing.

Towel Root works on the Tegra

The Samsung S5 root tool put out by geohot also works on the Tegra, just tried it and got root.
But we have to unlock the bootloader first?

I don't think so. Just tried it and used SDFix afterwards and it did no longer complain that it did not work (which it did before rooting).
Indeed it works. But i don't have a recovery
I agree root works,but don't have recovery

ok Then..but i do think there was a way for those on system version 98.18.94....i think it was just the 4.1.2 with 98.30.1 that couldn't. but it's easy enough to just update...with kitkat all you have to do is install 2 apk's and your rooted and unlocked..

You can root 98.18.94 with SafeRoot but you can't unlock the bootloader on that version. Your best bet is to update and unlock your bootloader while you're at it so you never lose root.

It is nobody's responsibility to notify you when root is achieved on MM. It is YOUR responsibility to check back in the forums and do a little searching and reading to find out if root has been achieved on MM.

If I'm on stock 6.0.1, how to go about downgrading re-unlocking my BL and then getting rooted MM? I was unlocked prior, but locked to take the OTA...

Very doubtful you can downgrade that file from a locked marshmallow ROM via Odin
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA-Developers mobile app

I've done it before. You can.
Was on MM, and downgraded to PB1, got root, unlocked bootloader, went back to MM and currently running Phoenix rom. It can be done.. Search the forums.. The info is there..

Hey I've just been browsing the forums and catching up on all the new stuff. Last time I was here there was no hope of a bootloader unlocked. I finally upgraded from kit Kat and unlocked mine. I want to try some MM Roms but I'm not sure how to get back to LP then?? Is there a way to get back and keep root? Or would I have to go back to completely stock pb1 and root and start over. Thanks

Is this method of rooting actually viable?

For us no.
The only method we have is the Engineering bootloader.
