[Q] Music shortcut opening by itself ~Help~ - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Xda fans
I recently Purchased the G900W8 and Ive run into the following issue.
I don't have any music on my phone and there aren't any videos yet either, but still the Music player shortcut controls keep coming up on my lock screen. at random times multiple times a day (without opening the Music player app) the music controls will come up on the lock screen even tho there is nothing to play. When i open my Task Manager/ Active applications tab its all clear and even when i clear my recent apps tab the controls will still be on my lock screen.
The only way i can get rid of the controls on the lock screen is by opening the Music Player app then going and going and clearing the recent apps and forcing the app to close.
Then the Controls will be gone from my lock screen, for about an hour or so.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Have you used the phone in water at all? I read another thread where a wet headphone jack was auto starting the music player.
Tapped it!

Music player album problem

i think i have found a bug in the music player
after a soft reset or first initialisation the following is available
in portrait mode you can scroll through the demo songs by album artwork vertically and play tracks till your hearts content BUT pause the track and go to landscape mode then click on an album cover and select the track on the left then go back to portrait and all you get is the one cover playing the selected track (you still with me ?)
now pause that track and you have lost the vertical scrolling mode until you do a soft or hard reset.
anyone else have this bug ???
If I understood you correctly, I don't think that's a bug.
The vertical and horizontal browsing modes are different.
Vertical (portrait) mode skips between the tracks that are currently in the 'now playing' list. If it contains tracks from multiple albums, you'll see the different covers of the tracks that are coming up.
Horizontal (landscape) mode flips between all the albums in your library. If you tap on an album, you see the tracks it contains; if you click one of those tracks, it starts playing. Your 'now playing' list then loads all the tracks of that one album and nothing more. Therefore, returning to portrait mode, you'll only be able to flip through the tracks of that one album.
Since the demo music typically has only one track per album, your 'now playing' list will consist of only one song. That's why vertical 'scrolling' seems to stop working: you can't scroll through a list that has only one item.
To put it simply: vertical 'scrolling' is like pushing the 'next' or 'previous track' button on your remote; horizontal 'scrolling' is like going through your cd collection to find something else to listen to.
your answer seems logical
however every demo i have seen has showed the vertical scrolling of albums,
i was kinda hoping i was doing something daft as i quite like the vertical scrolling of album covers.
ohh well if its not a feature i have wasted some time uninstalling programs and resetting registry keys back to standard that i had altered, thinking one of these may have caused it in the first place ( DOH !)
ok will start again in earnest setting the device the way i like it
Well... if you load all your music into the 'now playing' list, you can kinda flip through albums track by track. Especially if each album has only one track like those sample songs. Just open your library, slide to the 'tracks' tab and tap on any song.
I got a HD2 yesterday and found the same thing with the music area in HTC Sense in vertical mode and thought it might be a bug but this does make sense and works exactly as explained
My music still stops playing after a 30 seconds or so though and I have no idea why

(Music Player) and (wallpaper) issues... kinda silly questions

i know these are going to be some silly questions, but i can find the answer anywhere :$
In the phone's default music player ( the music tab or howerver u call it ), if i press Library-> All songs i can see some songs being listed twice. That means that if i listen to one of these songs and i press next, the exact same song will play. I use the latest Windows Media Player to import the song into the phone, saving the songs into the storage card, and the MUSIC folder in the device path is empty. btw, is there a way to make the music continue playing after all the tracks are over? Its getting annoying having to chose the first track every time.
Also, i have this 480x800 picture that i want to set as wallpaper on the Home screen/tab. I press Menu (on the Home screen) -> Home Wallpaper -> Weather Wallpaper and i choose the picture. If i check the Home Screen again, the wallpaper *is* the one i chose but it looks zoomed in, making it look bad since u can see some blury pixels :S
can someone help with these?

(?) Control Music in Notification Area

Hey there
is there an app, a switch, a hack to have the music controls in the notification area? it'd be superb not having to leave apps if i want to skip a song
(if I could assign hard buttons like long pressing the volume rocker to skip a song, it's be even more great)
thanks a lot!
+1
i'd even be happy to have something similar to sense with controls on the lock screen
ja, the lock screen controls are a good start and I won't miss them, but having those kinda controls whilst surfing etc would be just grand
Would also like the music controls on the lock screen for Froyo. That would be sweet.

For controls on the lock screen, try an alternative music player from the market by searching "Cubed", it's shown as a "3" in the market. Really great and fast.
Edit: On second thought, I'm not 100% sure it does have controls on lock screen have to verify!
Edit2: Ok, it does indeed have controls on Lock Screen.
yes, cubed has controls in the lockscreen
Thanks guys, just treid 3 cubed, good player but flaky when you tried and bring up the lock screen controls after sleep. Using OpenDesire v2.1
Cubed makes a "second" Lockscreen, this is not the best way.
I like the ³ but the lockscreen option is ....

quickdesk - you can put any widgets on it and then call it from any app using a physical button... such as holding down the search button

"picture & video" app bug. please help!

The app in my Imagio can play my MP4 flawlessly, however there's a bug. If I touched the screen to adjust anything with the control panel, or to pause/play, then that control panel will now automatically show up and then disappear every few seconds, throughout the play, which is quite annoying. Is there a fix for this? I can;t seem to find info on this forum. TIA!!
never mind i solved it

[Q] Music icon disappears from tray when pausing song.

Hi everyone,
So I've searched Google and these forums but am coming up empty handed.
As of the last few weeks, whenever I press the music icon in the notification tray to pull up the controls and hit the pause button, the little icon just disappears and I have to then go back into the music app to resume play, which then puts the icon back down there. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions? This is the stock music player btw. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I did find one article in the Google forums with the same issue but it was never answered. Thanks in advanced!
Do u run stock rom on u r a500?
This is not exactly a bug. Since there is no "stop" button Google uses "pause" as both. You can make a widget which will have a play button on it. This is really the simplest "fix."
