HEY!The 13/14.3.3.2 is rooted - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" General

I confirmed this news from the forum called "BAIDU", a china forum.
The method of root is to use the app called "root master". ( w w w .mgyun.com/)
It really works!
I post some screenshot as evidence.
" imgur.com/qALTGzN " this is my kindle version
" imgur.com/Qe9nZoh " you can see i can access the system folder

have you tested it while disconnected from internet and did you monitor outgoing info and the servers it sends to?
I don't trust unknown rooting methods since getting my imeid swiped a couple years ago.

This looks like V-root and v-root did not work for me before, I dont know if I would trust this, I will not be trying it until I know exactly what exploit it is
using to root, because I have tryed many. They would of needed to find a completely new exploit..

v root is based on kingo root... Google up kingo and you'll see why I'm hesitant.
its worked on all devices I've used it on before, but I made sure they all had bad ESN numbers. (reported destroyed)

no... but you can try blocking all outgoing ports or seeing if it runs without internet connectivity.
in my opinion root is not worth having my device id cloned to a knockoff tablet.

I decide to keep in air mode until i can block update forever.
why don't you try it by yourself?

I successfully installed Google Play on rooted 13.3.3.2 using same files that I used on 13.3.1
All works excellent with HDXPosed

Hey,I have downloaded vroot to my computer but vroot doesn't seem to recognise my device. When i click on the green button that says "Connect device",it gives me an error message. Any help??

Which version extactly do you mean? 13.3.2.2 or 13.3.2.3.2? Because I have the newest one and it doesn't seem to work

I rooted 13.3.2.3.2

Worked for me on 13.3.2.3.2, play store and ota block installed and running fine.

Could you describe the process of rooting the kindle? I still can't seem to root it even though i have done the factory reset and enabled the adb debug. Thanks!

1: Everyone hold your horses
2: Stay in airplane mode
3: Try to find what exploit it is and or get the needed files
4: Even if you get root stay in airplane mode until fully confirmed
Don't rush it.

So I posted a thread here asking for help (the phone was functional at this point) and one user suggested a root method to try out in the comments there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2379833

Ouch. Your WiFi is broken because he told you to flash a US VZW (XT-907) firmware.
Okay. First, you should try to find a 201M restore file. That will get your WiFi back. Next, since you've got a Dev edition, you can bootloader unlock and install a custom recovery, then flash a root zip
EDIT: Found it

While the link I gave him was unidentified as to warnings to non vzw users (now fixed) , the flashing of vzw sw comes in step 8 clearly he would have had to have pulled it from a xml himself if he even got that far. And if he did it would have been from reading the rzr op. As the bare motochopper has no vzw sw inside.

I didn't get the system img at all. I just wanted to flash the superuser files to /data which I thought would set me up to flash the whole thing with Rom manager.
Anyway, thank you for the help. I am downloading the firmware you linked to now. This guide tells me to edit the XML file and remove the getvar text from it, should this apply here as well? (Edit: Cant post outside links, but I think you get my point)
I'm going to use RSD 6.1.4 to restore the firmware. Any further instructions would be appreciated as I have never done this before.

I think I'm gonna give up on the idea of rooting this thing until there's a more reliable method available. Also, if anyone has the same issue then take note: I did remove the getvar commands when using RSD.

I am glad SC took care of you & I am sorry I lead you in that direction.
Please fill in some details for others?
How do you have a path to the newer sw? Is it your carriers ota? If you can obtain the same in the xml form there is an easy root using a modded ver w/ unlocked phone. The ota.zip could also be useful if you take it while you have root. It resides in /cache.
Thank you

It wasn't your fault for trying to help, so it's ok. I'm glad a solution existed.
I'm more than willing to answer the questions, but I am a layman here so please explain some things for me: What do you mean by SW? I just installed the update by going into about phone -> system update on Wifi. The carriers here don't even support 3G, much less 4G (So now you know why Wifi was important for me).
The phone came unlocked day one when I bought it from a friend's friend. I don't know if he did it that way or if it comes unlocked because it is the developer edition.
I installed CW Recovery using Fastboot. I installed the incorrect superuser file using Motofail which wrote the superuser file but failed at all other steps. I was then unable to either access or remove this superuser apk file.
Since I am back on 4.0.4. now, what's the easy way to get root access and superuser permissions that you mention? I wish other XT902 owners would post here too, generating interest would really help in getting development support for this phone.

Once you root on 404 you can grab your update.zip & copy it to your sd . Any rooting exploit would evolve from that Or the newest xml ver of the 404 you just flashed from rsd. You may be able to request it from your carrier.
---------- Post added at 01:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 PM ----------
You can paste the mods from my vzw restore (no vzw software will be used) into the 404 xml & obtain root from a preinstalled cwmr! Then maintain root with voodoo for your ota.
I will help you just read the op. Link is in my signature.

[Root] How to root your G Pad 8.3- Kingo Root App Method

I take no responsibility for this, I am just posting what others have confirmed to be a working root for the G Pad.
This method involuves Kingo Root App that you get here:
1 - Download LG's drivers to your PC under the Software Update tab from LG's website. Install the drivers.
2 - Turn on Developer Mode on your G Pad, System Settings-->About Tablet-->Software information-->Tap Build number 7 times.
3 - After Developer Mode is enabled, go to System Settings-->Developer options-->and place checkmark next to USB debugging.
4 - On your PC, go to the Kingo Root website, download and install the program.
5 - Plug your G Pad into your PC via USB cable, run the Kingo Root software and follow the prompts.
6 - Enjoy your rooted G Pad!
Thanks goes to @oesjmr and the Kingo People. Please post all bugs/issues here
Note that the app may say that the G Pad is not supported but it has been confirmed to work.
As always do this at your own risk, this may softbrick your devices and/or void your warranty
Some people have reported that some of your data and IMEI numbers may be sent to a Chinese IP address at the time of root (only a one time thing). You can use this at your own risk, it will give you root but I recommend removing all the data you don't want others to have access to before rooting. No one has reported anything happening with this data (no stolen accounts etc) but still should warn you. We also don't know the extent of it or what data is copied. If you are paranoid wait for a replacement method
Thanks

Try using a different cable and different USB ports. Reinstall the driver if it still doesn't work and if that fails do you have another PC you can use? So far I haven't seen anyone have this issue but it is usually one of those things. You can also try toggling the connection type on the pad itself, go between charge only and PC and see if you have better luck. Let us know if one of these things resolve it so we can document it.

I haven't tried rooting my G pad yet but I have found that my android phone needed ADB drivers installed for root to work properly. These drivers are different than the manufacturers drivers. This might have something to do with the issue.

Root

I have a Droid Maxx, and Razr Maxx HD and perhaps some beer cash for the answer to root...
I was thinking flashing twrp, then let it root, or am i way off or require an unlocked bootloader? I tried sunshine, but no go as it requires root.
So if i understand, you can get root without an unlocked bootloader, or is an unlocked bootloader a prerequisite of root? I am thinking not, but i am a Windows/SharePoint guy and pretty dumb to linux...

You need an unlocked bootloader to flash TWRP (which flashes SuperSU). There is no known root method available yet because the phone has only been out for about 8 hours.
The Sunshine team has apparently said they will not be supporting Motorola devices for 4.4.4 in their 3.0 release, only HTC, so unlikely it will work there.

Yeah, I didn't think I'd need root but the dpi on this thing is just way too high. For being such a great display it's hindered by the scaling. Easily fixed with root though!!
Found this on some Chinese site. If I had a backup phone I'd try it. But I don't. So can't risk bricking. Anyone else want to take a leap of faith? Ummm... Won't let me post the link because I'm still a noob apparently... So gonna try breaking it up. Just remove the line returns and spaces.

Didn't work for me. Too be safe I used a virtual machine with a snap shot taken before installing so I can revert back without the risk of spyware. Also tried Kingo but no luck with either.
---------- Post added at 06:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:20 AM ----------
Also vroot during the root attempt installs 2 apps on your phone and who knows what it installs on Windows without running a regmon, if you do decide to try it make sure you uninstall the 2 chinese apps when your done trying. Also like I mentioned above I would highly not to install vroot or Kingo on your daily driver windows machine. Leave the testing to people who have virtual machines they can install these apps on.
I have used vroot and kingo in the past to successfully root so I know they do/can work, they just haven't been updated yet to work on the Droid Turbo. Hopefully they will.

Dang, you guys got my hopes up reading through this.
I keep checking the other Moto forums for root options. I'm banking on anything that will root a Moto 4.4.4 phone will work on ours. The Moto G 4.4.4 update has a later build date than our version.

Let's talk write protection!

Ok, so I'm making this thread to talk about and throw ideas around disabling wp. Figure it's only right since people are getting mixed up with wanting root when its already obtained. Our only problem now is write protection.. So what do you guys think? How can we beat this?

I tried king root last Saterday. From my test it didn't function like root. My guess is no system files were changed. In order to change the system files you have to reboot.

This is over my head but........
The DE Note 4 has a aboot partition that has to be cracked to get root.
i tried to use multi window pro to open four windows. It requires a reboot for the changes to take place. I will try again later with simplereboot/soft-boot, Thanks
It worked

Temp root IS root only it's temporary.
AND... The app is/was called Multiwindow Plus I think it came from the same Author. I forgot where I got it last year for my DE Note 4, maybe the play store but it 's not there now.

Also if you read the topic, it's about disabling write protection...
We already kno we have root, it's just we need to find away to get around the dm-verity function that rolls back changes to the system partition.

YES it use to be free but I paid for mine. I don't know where to get it now. It requires root. And it stopped working after the phone did a reboot on it's own.

I have two examples first the commad line change that makes Chrome always open as a desktop . After Kingroot I was able to use root browser to write to the location data/local and it stuck after a hard reboot.
Second example I was able to get the app *App Backup and Restore* to write to the Ext SD Card. This example did not stick after a reboot.

What about root? Is there a clean root method that doesn't cause a bunch of ****?
Want to try to play shield games, mount and blade for instance.
stock firmware
I've heard the same about our bootloader
but here's the firmware you were asking for:
dubdubdub sammobile dot com slash firmwares slash database slash SM-G935p
(sorry about the lack of link, I'm under 10 posts still)
I have been using the G935U firmware since October. I like to pretend it's the closest I'm going to get to a debloated ROM for this phone.

I'm thinking of getting the edge. I'm not an expert. I have rooted phones but never used abd. Is it hard to use? And with root can you use Hotspot ?

Hate to be anal here. You mean that your carrier settings were lost and wifi was your only work around.
If that is the case I'll bag this idea till I know it's fixed.
Who is your carrier?

Carrier is Sprint. All i know is that i couldn't make a phone call or surf the web Unless using Wifi. Simply watch the video in the link and read the comments below and decide for yourself. Sorry im not a Tech Savy as most of U are.
I had the same problem, found a root method that worked but lost my cell internet connectivety, still had calling and texting though.
I just want root to use gltools so i can play nvidia shield games and mod games with gg.

Rooting after a certain version has the issues you described. I think it happened when the BootLoader upgrade happened. Look into the u firmware. Rooting on this device is different and kind of unstable.

to my understanding from other methods that i've seen on here they all say to remove ur sim card so idk might be an option if someone wants to attempt it and if it works I'm down for doing it
I found one with all workarounds for the problems with rooting this phone. Fixes for data cell service, and you can google wifi fix to save your wifi information after reboot. Involves build.prop editor.
@Nickvanexel Normally when folks boast about something important on a popular device, they back it up with either a how-to or links that point them in the right direction. Not only to verify proof but its also common courtesy. I see neither the 2 from you on this post or anywhere else. So tell me...
Was your intention to dazzle everybody with bullsh¡t or are you that much of an asshøle? ???
