3 days ago I got my HD2 from Tmobile (I jumped from At&T to tmo) and I have been trying hard to get the sim unlock but just cannot get it from any of the unlocker services.
I must have tried at least 5 or 6 unlockers and no one can geit it. Yes my IMEI starts with 35777 .. but even some of the unlockers who charge more and claim they can unlock are just refunding the $$$.
Is it my phone or is it with all the new HD2 's
I have never had a problem just calling the carrier and telling them I'm heading out of country and would like the unlock code. Seems to work every time for me and it's free.
its for all the htc phones.. there is a new service for htc unlock codes. its not 100% up and running yet. if your phone was made after a certain date the old services wont work. you just gotta wait.
You don't have to pay for it. Just call T-Mo. I got mine unlocked in 24 hours and I'm on pre-paid, they just ask you for the IMEI and your email. Thats it. it is free
well tmo has this new rule that you have to be subscriber for 45 days before they give you the unlock code. I really have a international trip coming up in the next 10 days. Looks like I might have to threaten them of cancelation(I have 15 days .. buyers remorse, and anyway i have been rethinking my decission about putting three lines in contract)

Tell them that and they will unlock it for you. Go into a store and have the rep call for you. That rule is more of a guide line than an actual rule.

Okay if you got the phone with a new contract then will have to wait 40-45 days before they give you the unlock code.
But if you brought the phone for retail then they will email the code to you the next day. I got mine unlocked Easter Sunday

Right!??! I haven't received any emails from Motorola either... I'm still unsure if I want to hop on the Xoom wagon quite yet. I'm fairly happy with my honeycombed Nook Color but I miss a lot of features.
What a crock, I registered too and had no idea. You can always do what I did. I bought it at Costco because of their 90-day return policy and I'm just going to return it within that period if I don't like it. I don't feel the same pressure I do with a 14 day return policy.
I did almost the same thing only I used the 25% coupon code that they were giving out for signing up and following the OCNN. I got the Xoom, portfolio case, gell case, 2 day shipping, and tax for $660.77.

I picked up the XOOM this morning for $874, no activation thankfully, but just placed an order using the discount you mentioned and got the XOOM and the gel case for $647.74 shipped. That's a savings of around $226, now that I can do. I've already called BB and asked about the return policy, 14 days no restocking, so I'm returning my current one tomorrow.

Its kind of hard to contact them when their chat and email is offline. Finally got email to work and then had a new window for chat pop up and that one works. Talking to a csr now. And the email is on its way to me. Says to reply before midnight tonight, and it takes up to 2 days for you to get the code to unlock a one time in-store credit that's good till December 31st. And all the accessories I want are out of stock?

The email says the coupon code will arrive about 2 days after they receive the reply back from you with the information they asked for. Since they extended the sale the code would have to get here before the sale ends to use it and the earliest I see getting the code is Thursday.
Is the deal on Wednesday and next Monday only for motomaker or are they going to open it up for Dev editions as well?

From my understanding its only for moto maker phones as the dev editions sold out. Doesn't hurt to check the site Wednesday and Monday just to be sure.

There were other ways to get into chat yesterday besides the main support page. I got in by sending an email to customer support which then popped up a chat window which was working. The email I received said you could only apply for the in-store credit until midnight last night, it was only good on full priced, unbranded phones (not a carrier phone) purchased from the Motorola website after November 18th.

I asked the CSR during my session and she told me the coupon is good for any purchase on Motorola.com, including phones. The reason I was okay with getting a coupon is because I had planned to buy a Moto G as a gift, so I made sure to ask her.

I can say that I got the MotoMaker version, and with the root unlock some developers here have posted, I'm not really regretting not getting the DevEd. Having my color of choice is very nice, and with root I can remove all the bloat, thus removing the desire for custom ROM's.

I second the "you probably want to keep the Dev Edition", despite the devil on my shoulder that wants to convince people to sell me their dev edition at the $400 price.
I don't think codes can be used by anyone except the name and phone number that was used to register for it. I got 2 codes from the previous sale and still haven't been able to get an order through motorola successfully.
