My father is on a trip in China(yay!), he decided he would buy a galaxy note 3, he also bought a separate samsung s cover the official version, everything was bought new in Hong Kong, the note was HK$4400(US$560)
He says the note appears to be real, because the official s cover works as expected, he send me the back of the note 3 box, can anyone tell me if its real or fake
Edit: it does have download mode like odin
Sticky topic in this section explains how to find out, whether it is real phone or not. We can't tell by the box, if it is real or not.
Safest way is to use Phone Info app.

Next week I'm going to purchase a nexus 4 (16GB) version. Play store hardware market not supporting my country. Therefore I have to go for a 3rd party seller.
I'm not a newbie to the Android world. I already have an Android phone.
I want to know, how do I identify fake and genuine Google Nexus 4 (16GB)? I suspect there may be fake chines Nexus 4.
Apart from that, are there any way to view hardware specifications by using dial pad?
Any help really appreciate.

You could do an IMEI check. Once you get the phone press *#06# and IMEI number will show. Then google IMEI checker (http://www.imei.info/) seems like a good one. That will tell you information about your phone. Also, once you get the phone just go to settings-about phone, theres some info there.

Looks like that IMEI test is a perfect one. But about phone can change.
Can i send apk files to Nexus 4? If i can, then i can perform a benchmark test.

Go to the following URL: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=111111111111111111 (substitute the IMEI number for the 1's) -- it should return manufacturing information about the device.

Sri Lanka. Play store hardware market not support.
Few weeks back (after purchse SGS3) I again went to the same shops for purchase a phone for my brother. Then again N4 available their stock. So sad!

Another tipoff is the screen. I've seen knockoff phones before (Note II for example) and the screens aren't in the same league as originals. LG put a decent panel in the N4.

Know the specs.. Good clones will usually have the stuff people will look for on the surface.. Working wifi, cellular data, camera, speakers. They will usually skimp on things people wouldn't normally check ~ have lower res screens, less ram, missing sub features ( GPS, LED for camera, Gravity Sensors, sometimes even a microphone etc) and less RAM. Some also have really crummy touchscreens, have difficulty detecting touches around the edges ( try typing with the keyboard or using an app)
As a side, is the N4 a popular target to clone? It seems like it would be a low risk considering its price point vs the competitors.. Also it seems like the target audience for this phone would be more capable to spot a fake ( again vs the mainstream phones)..
Seems like I always see the grey markets flooded with Samsungs and Apple, can't say I have ever seen a Nexus phone or tab. At least in Shanghai / Hong Kong

--> I traded my HTC One for a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 with someone through Craigslist. Unfortunately, I was so excited to get the phone I only used imei*info to verify the phone's authenticity and checkesnfree*com to see if the phone was blacklisted. (new user so can't post links)
Results from both sites were a "go" so I did the trade.
With T-mobile (or any carrier) I knew I wouldn't get 4G or LTE speeds with this model phone, which was fine. However, it was impossible for me to get off EDGE (pure H3LL after having LTE with the HTC).
Did the research I should have done before doing the trade and found out at least one easy way to ID a fake i9500: Check the phone's serial number. It shouldn't be "123456789ABCDEF" - obvious enough, if you know where to look. If it is you absolutely have a fake.
They may get smarter and this not work to check the i9500's, but for now it's good enough.
POINT: Don't be an idiot like me and fail to do your research first . Checking a couple websites isn't enough.

Just download "os monitor" from any market and it will tell you everything from the number of cores to chip set, CPU e.t.c that should do the trick along with the imei number.

When i extract the pen it is like the pen is still inside and nothing appear. Air command seems to not work correctly. inside the phone it is snote software and the pen" work".
The exact model is N9006ZCUBMI3 and the build is JSS15.N9006ZCUBMI5.
Using a different rom for 9006 could be unlock the air command?

Lolz dude non offense but your coming to the att note 3 board to talk about a Chinese knock off clone? And your actually surprised that some knock off features aren't included or functioning? Lol
Sorry man not trying to be a jerk but you should have known when you ordered it that you were taking a long shot when 99% of the clone ads are full of lies and misrepresentations.

ops, actually my english is not so good so dunno what is att note 3. aniway i see other similar post like mine. I know that chinise are very ambiguous but i know this feature is in my model and other guys whit this same identical device have no problem whit it. So i was asking, i can live good whitout air command so Can you please tell me if there is a section of this forum in which i can talk about chinise devices whitout persons that say to me that chinise is fake and liar?
To my knowledge there are no fake phone forums on xda. You will need to do a google search to find what you want. You wont find anything here for it. Good luck

I have a Koodo Samsung Galaxy S4 running a custom Galaxy S5 ROM ("Samy Deluxe Pick Your King" to be exact) I need to SIM unlock my phone for my trip to France but before I buy a code, it asks me what my device model is and the IMEI.
I was just wondering if I need to put Galaxy S5 as my device or Galaxy S4? Will it affect the code or not? Or if the SIM unlocking won't work at all? If you have any other ways that might work that would be great too! I would like to avoid replacing my ROM if possible.

Having just purchased a Note 4, I have to ask, what ROM`s are available and how do they ratebagainat stock, I'm asking as the Note 4 has alot more going for it than the S2, the Note 4 may take me a good 6 months to get used to it, so maybe no need for a custom ROM? Thoughts?
Also with KNOX/NOX what's the fail safe way to root the Note 4 without or flash without binary increases; there's a few root guides I've found but I don't know too much aboutbthe pit falls having only used/modded the S2 for 4yrs.
Also my Note 4 is locked to vodafone (UK) will rooting unlock it? Apart from paying for unlock is there a way around it, flashing or something?

I too have a similar background having previously had SGS2.
Eventually there came triangle away and we were all happy users.
Now having paid a lot more for a Note 4 910F International version I am worried about warranty like lots of poeple.
From what I can gather if we currently root or install a custom rom from within Odin the this trips the KNOX counter.
What are the thoughts that there will be a workaround eventually?
So many apps are next to useless without root and now I have discovered problems storing and moving files on sd card through ES File explorer . I was so looking forward to making the most of my Note 4, now I think this will be the last one I buy if this remains unsolved.
I guess my main question is if I trip KNOX to 0x1, either by rooting or customising ROM, but then go back to a Stock rom in the future, will KNOX still be tripped as things currently stand?
Rooting has nothing to do with the network lock.
Tripping Knox has been discussed to death, use the search function to find answers to your questions.

Yeah that's what I've come to realise as no hidden menus or so called engineer codes work.
It was worth asking in this day and age of progression but alas I shall pay for an unlock code. What I have realised is online unlocking is vastly cheaper than high street which now charge way over the odds even compared to the network charge.

But I do have a samsung galaxy y gt-s5360 before and I gain a very big helped from this forum before by learning how to flash and root my 5360 previously successfully with ressurection ROM. And I'm sorry this is the first time I created a topic post and I'm sorry and I'm not sure if I'm creating this topic at the right column of this forum. If I'm wrong I apologize dear Admin.
OK back to the main point of this topic. I just bought a clone Samsung note 4 yesterday. There's a lot of question marks in my head now and I need all the experts advice here and hope everyone could help me out please.
1) I don't even know what are the real specs of my phone now as it is clone and I don't even know how to identified it by real.
2) I wish I can flash a best note 4 original rom or custom ROM with the latest and updated and a nice ROM for my clone note 4.
3) 1 main reason is if possible I need a ROM with the real note 4 display resolution on my clone note 4 in order for me to use my Rock Dr.V casing for my clone note 4 which required an app from the rock case website itself which could not support and even run on my current clone note 4.
All kinds of helps and enquiries is needed and much appreciated. I will try to provide as much information, details and screenshots as I can. But starting with even screenshot now I don't even know how to screenshot my phone now because normally you can just swipe with your hand from right to left of the whole screen to make a screenshot but now this function is not even working.... I'm blurred and stuck now. The current state of of my clone note 4 now is running without problem as I can still use most of the common standard default apps and the commercial downloaded apps such as whatsapp, wechat, facebook and all including waze GPS too.
Another last thing is the imei no on the sticker behind the phone is different with the one stating on the about phone inside android software phone status imei. I tried scanning the imei behind with imei.info it tells me it is a Galaxy S4 but the imei inside the android software which I scan on imei.info was stated with "Invalid imei". That is all the information that I can provide now. Hopefully someone can teach me how to screenshot at least so I can start uploading more pics and Info's.

**** latest update, I just found out my GPS sensor is not working permanently. Meaning when I switch on waze it take some time to detect where am I and finally found me but when Im navigating to a direction it stated no GPS approximate location detected. Damn it.
