Q700S kitchen question - Xolo Q700, Q700i

hi guys i m in a little trouble i get su and busy permission error if i cook a rom in kitchen as far as i searched i got this
QUESTION: I get busybox errors during flashing; e.g. "Can't chown/mod /system/xbin/busybox (No such file or directory)" or "E:Can't symlink busybox ..."
Apparently you need to upgrade your SPL, and it has nothing to do with the kitchen:

Problems with adb push

I am running custom rom Rooted 2.1 v0.3.
Ever since flashing to the custom rom, when i try to push a file, such as:
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
I get the error:
Failed to copy.... Read-only file system.
I didn't have this error before flashing to the rom. Does this have something to do with superuser whitelist?
I have tired:
mount -oremount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
and it didn't work and I tired:
adb remount
winch returned:
Operation not permitted.
This is ticking me off since I didn't have this problem until flashing the rom.
EDIT: Now if I try:
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media,
I get:
Permission denied.
This is crazy.
I need help also. Rooting for first time and trying to get recovery.img on and keep getting read only errors. Tried remount to no avail. Help please
su
mount -o rw,remount /Dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
file system is case sensitive!
if anyone know what command to execute an install or push of "any.apk" via Android Terminal Emulator. It would help me greatly.
p.s.
make sure you have developer mode enabled "settings" and accept su permissions. Also have BusyBox

I had the same problem. From what I could tell, I had the wrong ADB driver somehow. So I downloaded the drivers from the HTC website and went to device manager (Win7) and updated the driver software which fixed the problem. But I think i just lucked out when i stumbled onto that, I feel a blind retard with epilepsy trying to draw a circle on an etch-a-sketch when I'm doing things like rooting. But, it couldn't hurt to try it.

I think the proper permissions were not set for this ROM. Hopefully jcase can modify the file and re-upload the ROM =)
at least that's what I've gathered... someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong
edit: I looked at the script file and it seems like rw permissions are set properly???
jcase - any insight?
I personally get a bunch of "Out of memory" errors when trying to follow the recovery walk-through.

[SOLVED]Dorimanx ROM wont install ANY apk

Alright, ive used Dorimanx ROM's before and never had a problem. But now i cant install any apk using file explorer or adb install. I didnt change anything. Any help is greatly appreciated. I did post in his ROM Thread but i kinda need my phone...
What happens when i try to install an APK is my phone randomly reboots back to the bootanimation and then boots again. I even wiped every partition and tried again..
Anyone??? here is a snippit from my logcat stating the error, dont know why i get this error works perfectly fine on any other ROM...
Code:
E/PackageManager( 1487): Couldn't create temp file for downloaded package file.
E/AndroidRuntime( 1487): *** FATAL EXCEPTION IN SYSTEM PROCESS: PackageManager
Here is the full logcat i really want this ROM again im on CLK if that has anything to do with it. Ive ran it perfectly fine on MAGLDR a long time ago but now it just dont wanna work grrrrrr
Mehhh i fixed it, it was because i didnt have a sd-ext partition on my SD card and according to google, the /data/app /data/app-private directories were symlinked to /sd-ext which didnt exist therefore could not be created causing a loop. So i used adb shell to do the following commands
rm -r /data/app /data/app-private
mkdir /data/app /data/app-private
and it worked .. im gonna check the updater-script for the symlinks.

This worked for me
Here, you're rooting Defy+ BL7 rom (DFP-231 are the most updated Defy+ roms and comes with BL7), which need spacial way to root. (and no need to go outside XDA, it's all here.)

Samsung Multi Window Manager Problem

I have rooted my S4 i9505 and installed Samsung Multi Window Manager, but when I try to open the app I get the following error message. . .
java.io.FileNotFoundException: / system/csc/others.xml: open failed: EROFS (Read-only file system)
I also briefly see this message on a Toast
Mount -o remount, re /dev/block/mtdblock5/system; chmod 777 /system/csc/others.xml
It looks to me like the app is unable to get access to the file others.xml.
SuperSU says the app has been granted access, but it just won't work.
Has anyone else seen this bahaviour or know how to fix it?
eves popseum
Aaagh was hoping this would be an easy one. . . .
Let me see if I can tease some other ideas out of you. . .
I'm clutching at straws here, but the next thing I want to try is uninstalling and reinstalling SuperSu, but before I do that, could someone just confirm that it is safe to do.
I ask, as on the Google Play it says you have to be careful, but I'm hoping that only applies if you are going to replace it with something else.
Anywho, if someone could just confirm that, that would be great.
I'm also thinking of running...
Mount -o remount, re /dev/block/mtdblock5/system; chmod 777 /system/csc/others.xml
through Terminal Emulator, again was just hoping to check if this is safe thing to do.
Thanks
I'm still trying to solve this problem. . .:fingers-crossed:
I ran the following command. . .
Mount -o remount, re /dev/block/mtdblock5/system; chmod 777 /system/csc/others.xml
through Terminal Emulator to see what would happened and I got the following message. . .
No such file or directory.
So, I checked to see if mtdblock5 exists on the phone, and it doesn't.
So todays question is should mtdblock5 exist on my phone? (I seem to be the only one who can't get this app to work)

Scrumbeans - I am having the exact same issue. Did you ever find a solution? I have already tried reinstalling, flashing SuperSU, and changing permissions of system/csc/feature.xml and system/csc/others.xml, but no progress. This only became a problem after i upgraded to Android 4.3 yesterday. If you have found the solution could you please post it? Thanks!!

Sorry to drag up such an old thread but I too am having the exact same issue as mentioned in the OP.
I've got a Note 10.1 N8010 with stock rom, rooted, Android 4.4.2. I've checked the permissions to the file and indeed they are 777 and the file is writable. As a test, I made the file unwritable using a file manager, upon launching Multi Window Manager it automatically corrects this back to 777 again so it knows the file is there and is able to change the permissions on it but it still says FileNotFound?
I wondered if the partition that the file resides on was mounted as RO but I've downloaded another app which has changed /system to RW but still no joy.
Desperately looking for a solution to this, any help would be very much appreciated.
