Any chance someone still has this ftf? I borked my z2 tab today and was looking for the latest firmware to flash that is still rootable. Think this is it. Endpoint will be running cm11 or cm12.

Thank you for this. I managed to get a Chinese 402 fimware downloaded, created an ftf out of it and flashed it successfully. Would be more helpful if this wasn't a Chinese build but its a start.
Edit: I chose 402 as its the latest firmware that is supported by doomlord root and recovery. The endpoint is to be back on CM11/12. Having a tough time as im not able to boot to recovery from the Chinese build. Also seems that there is a possible hardware issue as I am having intermittant connectivity issues with the tablet. It seems to come in and out of flash mode on its own in the flashtool. I am trying to flash a different firmware but it wont stay in flash mode long enough for the firmware flash to complete successfully. Pretty frustrating. I noticed this usb issue while using chargers over the last month or so too. Tablet would show that it was charging for a second then not charging intermittently. I thought it could be rom related which inspired the want to ftf back to stock but i think that there is something physically wrong with this tab now. Shame as its only six months old and was barely used.

wooo bad luck buddy, you should take it back to sony while you still got the chance (under warranty). If you have saved the DRM keys before unlocking the bootloader, you should relock it and flash a stock ftf (Canadian version). i dont know why the OP link doesnt work. but i had just checked my box account and the files are still there the .402 one
SGP511 Wifi Generic CA .402: https://app.box.com/s/o3webtra06yvet2zuva47vka3h981s4l
if the link does not work you either have to create a Box account or give me your email. i dont know why Box is like this.
gl buddy :highfive:

Thanks for the support
I tried again with the box link and it says: "the item you are trying to access has been deleted or is unavailable to you" Ill PM you my address.

Hello all,
I need this FW to flash the kernel of this thread (for CWM recovery + root) :

The link is invalid and I can't find the FTF file elsewhere.
Someone has a link? Thanks.

any of the irritating notifications?
has permanent "swipe up to unlock" text?
compatible to all xperia z cust #s?
Possible to elaborate more on merging files?
I need help on merging the files as well.
Any idea how to do it on Mac OSX?
update:
I've figured out how to merge the files in Mac OSX with terminal.
After flashing the rom, I'm still on 4.1.2?
why 4.1.2???? i already flash it..
the same problem: 4.1.2 after flashing
flashtool 0.9.11.0
flashing process was completed without any errors
but... 4.1.2 and even not HK - just my previous build and localization

Same here.
The first time i flash from the last global fw and got stuck in a boot loop.
I used update service to reset my phone. It reverted back to the last fw that was released in the uk. So this was a couple of firmwares backwards.
I then tried to flash this ftf again. After the process my phone is factory reset but with the uk firmware that was released a good few weeks ago.
That's very awkward.
@feizylong: Did you use all (five) FILE_********* files from Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service?
Did you include everything except simlock.ta?
Same here. Flashed and still on 4.1.2. :crying:
after comparing this firmware with ES one, i found that here are TWO "elabel" files!
but deleting of "elabel-c6603-row_201302281243_10.1.1.A.1.253.sin" from the .FTF (and leaving "elabel-c6603-row_201302281243_10.3.A.0.423.sin") didn't help at all

Hello, who can assist for the CMW kernel for the 4.2.2 version for flashing through flashtool ? I think there's none yet released, but there are version where you need to flash the whole ZIP file. I just need the kernel boot.img with CMW, as i flashed the ES unbranded version. Working just excellent, and rooted with DooMLord's V15 easy rooting toolkit
permanent "swipe up to unlock" text?
How to take screenshot now in 4.2.2?

Can you please provide MD5 hashes for the downloads? Flashtool somehow fails to flash the ftf and I have really no clue why, maybe an MD5 hash can show me more if the files are corrupted.
Also, did you try to flash the ftf on your own before you provided it here and can confirm it 100% works?

Nope. As written above I used PCC to download the firmware in repair mode. As it was already up and running on my phone I didn't feel like installing again. But so far quite a few people have at least downloaded the files, maybe they can confirm usability.
Will provide MD5 later...

From these downloads here.
I tried to flash them on my unlocked Sony Z1C because someone told me to do so first, then getting root and then getting back the DRM keys with TA Backup. I had a waterdamage on my Z1C and need to send it in for warranty, phone is fully functioning but only like 1/6 of the touchscreen is not working.

Ah, sorry, overlooked the Mega links Yeah, I found those exact links over a german forum (checked them, they are really the same) and tried to flash the Mega files.
Now downloaded the d-h files, will try those. Kinda don't like d-h because of the slow download speed and all those ads everywhere.

The archives are 100% the same in both locations, but I had one user complaining that the d-h download was somehow corrupted (maybe due to a download manager?)
I am not sure the touchscreen issue is related to the software....

No no, I'm flashing everything back to stock so Sony doesn't complain about me "corrupting the phone with software", companies are getting quite '*****y' with such things. Had that one with my Asus Tablet already...
Anyways, I'll now verify the downloads ^^
I don't think you need to flash stock firmware when your BL is unlocked, they'll get *****y anyway. I am pretty sure Sony knows about the unlocked BL already...

No no, I can relock my bootloader, no problem, that's what the TA Backup is here for. They know my IMEI tho because I had to unlock it on their site but who doesn't lie when it comes to such things Simply saying "My brother tried to root my phone without me knowing it but I was able to stop him before he flashed another ROM", just in a noobish and 'consumer-like' way hehehe Read that this worked for nearly everyone who sent their device in for warranty.

The reason why is because the update hasn't been rolled out in your country yet. When a update is don't it takes a couple of weeks or even months to be worldwide

I flashed to this .ftf from 23.0.1.A.4.30 and my device will not turn on. Nor will it give vibration feedback when attempting to turn on. I tried volume down/power button. I tried the little red button next to sim card slot. Not sure what to do at this point...
I guess it decided to turn on... nevermind
Hello, does anyone have a link to the ftf for SGP512 (UK region). My tablet is running 4.4.4 and I want to downgrade to 4.4.2 so I can root
EDIT, does not matter, just used the Nordic firmware to downgrade, rooted, then upgraded with modified UK firmware that was pre-rooted

few questions...
do you need to have the bootloader unlocked to use flashtool?
Also, I like in the USA and bought the z3+. The current CDA is HK generic which is version .24. I see that the generic UK version is .27. Is there an advantage to put the .27 firmware on the phone?

The only variants using 28.0.A.7.27 are "Customized UK" and "O2 Pay monthly UK". Every other variant is 28.0.A.7.24 or older. They often did that with the Z2 too and the main reason was because of bugs so I guess they released 28.0.A.7.24 for UK too but noticed some bugs, thus fixed these and released 28.0.A.7.27
28.0.A.7.24 and 28.0.A.7.27 should be the exact same Android version 5.0.2. If it were Android 5.1 or even 5.1.1 they would have used a much higher version number.

28.0.A.7.24 and 28.0.A.7.27 should be the exact same Android version 5.0.2. If it were Android 5.1 or even 5.1.1 they would have used a much higher version number.

Also, when you run flashtool do you run normal version or 64 version? Not sure if that is in reference to the device or the computer.

Thank you for your answer. One more question. If I upgrade to the UK generic version 0.27 , will pc companion still work for me in order to upgrade to higher versions as well?

I can't say about Z3+ but for Z2 and here it still worked. Maybe Sony changed something with the Z3+ but I don't think so. In short (but without guarantee): yes, it should still work.

If your Computer Operating System (Windows / Mac / Linux) is 64-Bit use FlashTool64.exe and if not stick with the FlashTool.exe

Thank you. You have been helpful. That leads me to yet another question (I am a first time xperia user, I have used HTC up to this point).
In the flashtool I was able to choose the z3+ as my device. It was my understanding that the z3+ was not included yet., WIth that said there are options within the flashtool to root the device. IS that something that can be done now?
FTF E6553_28.0.A.7.27_1295-7703_R6A
Device: E6553
Version: 28.0.A.7.27
Country: UK
Provider: unbranded
Customization number: 1295-7703
Size: 2.071.057.904 Bytes

1) Get latest Flashtool from http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php and install it
2) Run C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe and select Flashmode Drivers, Fastboot Drivers and both Xperia Z2 Device Drivers (there are no Z3+ drivers yet but the Z2 ones work great)
3) Download the FTF you want and save it in eg. C:\
4) Power Off your Z3+ and connect the microUSB cable to it (but leave it disconnected from the Computer)
5) Run C:\Flashtool\FlashTool.exe (or FlashTool64.exe if you have a 64-Bit Operating System on your Computer)
6) Click the Lightning icon on the very left
7) Select Flashmode and click OK
8) On the top select the path where you have your FTF downloaded
9) On the left select the firmware you want to flash
10) IMPORTANT: On the right in "Exclude :" select the checkbox next to TA
11) Click Flash
12) Wait some time
13) When asked (the green arrow window) press Volume down and connect the USB cable to your Computer
14) Flashing starts.
15) Check the main Flashtool window. It shows a log and that tells you when flashing is done. If you don't see any red lines everything went fine.
I strongly advise to NOT do anything with your Computer, its connected devices or cables as long as flashing is in progress. Don't even plug or unplug a thumb drive. I have a USB3.0 AddOn card and when I plug in a device my native USB2.0 ports are disconnected for a millisecond. That's not a problem for thumbdrives, etc. but this can brick your phone while it gets flashed.

You're welcome and congrats to your first Xperia
I have absolutely no clue about rooting. Never did it. Current version of Flashtool may successfully root your Z3+ or it may brick it. I have absolutely no clue. What I know is that the Z3+ is officially not supported yet (but thankfully at least flashing works because Sony didn't changed anything since at least Z2).

Thanks an3k for this guide. I'm a first-time Xperia Owner so please forgive my dumb question. I wanted to flash the "FTF E6553_28.0.A.7.27_1295-7703_R6A" but there is no TA in the exlude menu. I'm on the newest Flashtool version. Can i proceed anyway or will I lose the Xperia Enhancements ?

Yeah, there are some bad changes in the new flashtool version. Instead of simply selecting TA you now have to manually select each ta file. I'll update my quick guide but here's additionally what you have to do now:
Check the list below "Content :" and look for all entries ending with .ta (eg. cust-reset.ta). If you found one, search for the same entry in the "Exclude :" list (eg. CUST-RESET) and select it. Do this for every .ta entry shown in the "Content :" list.
Normally it's only CUST-RESET and FOTA-RESET. Sometimes you'll additionally have SIMLOCK
Additionally if you want to wipe your device while flashing it to a new firmware (was the default behavior until the latest flashtool version) you also have to check all three checkboxes (APPS_LOG, CACHE, USERDATA) in to top right "Wipe :" list!

Stock ROM for Xperia X Compact?

Hi, I assume someone much smarter than me will be able to point me to a Sony Xperia standard/stock ROM which I can flash with TWRP.
I had loaded TWRP and manages to accidentally wipe out the system with no backup (it's a new phone anyway). I found some ROMS from European telcos, etc. but would like to install the "standard" Sony Xperia ROM for XC.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
PS. I think it would be easiest for me to able to install it through TWRP.... but obviously, anyway to recover my phone would be great.
PPS. Still can access device with adb and Flashtool, but not from Fastboot or Sony PC Companion.
PPS. I have installed OmniROM in the meantime... but don't want to spend too much time on it if I am going to wipe it out anyway.
PPS. I am in the US.
Update:
I found XperiaFirmware. It's downloading F5321_34.1.A.3.49_CE.ftf. Per the download website, will take about 18 hours on average, but it is progressing better than that.
I also found XperiFirm tool which downloads much faster, but I don't know which version. My understanding is that US customized is for CDA version of the phone. I also ran across the post about enabling the fingerprint reader by downloading the UK customized version... But based on latest attempts to do this, since UK version has been upgraded to Nougat, this approach is not working anymore...? But anyway, I could give it a shot to try a European version which is still on MM,
Update: *Whew*
I used XperiFirm to select a ROM. I didn't know which ROM, but I was intrigued to enable the fingerprint scanner. Due to some recent posts that the original method of using the Customized UK (or as they would say "Customised UK") version no longer works as the posted firmware was for Nougat. As a workaround, some people downloaded CE version, but CE version has also been recently updated to Nougat. I noticed a CE5 version which still seemed to be the MM version.
However, I also wasn't sure what differences I may see in the European version as some posters were complaining about some cosmetic differences, so I downloaded Customized US even though I thought I read somewhere it was for CDMA network. I also decided to download one called "Commercial and Journalists" which was the same MM version.
I decided to install it first as I was anxious about trying to get my phone back. I was able to load OmniROM but since there were some known issues, my preference was to use authentic Sony firmware. In addition, I took some low light pictures with the OmniROM version, and they turned out really bad. Not sure if it was the ROM or what, but it was very disappointing. Also, I couldn't get root access to it. Also, even though OmniROM seemed to support the fingerprint scanner, I couldn't get it to register my fingerprint well.
I downloaded the Commercial and Journalists version from XperiFirm, let it unpack it, and then used FlashTool to create the bundle, not including fwinfo.xml or the .ta files.
It started up Android ok, but I noticed I seemed to have lost my TWRP. Anyway, while starting up Android, guess what? The fingerprint enabled software was there... and it works like a champ!
Since I seemed to have lost TWRP, I started from instructions again from http://www.stupdroid.com/2016/10/root-sony-xperia-x-compact.html and was able to get it back.
Then, I tried to get root, but following the instructions, I got the error ""There is no su binary installed" when opening SuperSU.
I then flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
And now I have root access!
Whew! I don't know what damage I've done overall... and since I don't have a nano SIM card yet, the worst case scenario is that what I have now doesn't work as a phone (but I doubt it). After what I went through (accidentally deleting the system from my Android phone), I now have a rooted Xperia X Compact with the fingerprint sensor enabled. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good?
And, when I took some low light pics, they turned out better!
