[Q] Messed up my phone, return to stock? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello XDA.
I have a:
Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M (IT'S EITHER A BELL/ROGERS PHONE)
BASEBAND VERSION: I1337MVLUAMDJ
KERNAL VERSION: 3.4.0-1529758 [email protected]#1
BUILD NUMBER: K0T49H.1337MVLUFNE1
The problem is, I had rooted my phone long time ago and wanted to recently unroot and update to the latest KitKat version (I was on jellybean). It would not let be update because it said the device was modified or something of that sort. I tried to unroot by following a tutorial online and flashing with a stock rom.
I did exactly as it says but now my phone is totally messed up. My Wifi no longer works, the apps keep crashing and nothing is working like its suppose too. I do not know what to do to fix this. How do I return my phone back to factory settings as if it is brand new? I have tried flashing stock roms 3 times new (3 different ones using ODIN) and nothing seems to work. I have tried samsung kies and it is still doing the same thing!
Please help.

Where did you get the stock firmware? Go to sammobile.com if you haven't already done so

You have to register but it's free. You'll download a zip. Use 7-zip to extract a .tar.md5 file. Use that in Odin

The websites downloads are very slow. I am currently downloading it and will attempt to flash it. The problem is, I believe I have already tried this and might have somehow messed something else up such as the kernel or something.
Do you know if this could be the case?

No, it would not be the case. Odin flashes the entire firmware, kernel and all. Sammobile is an official site for the firmware so if it doesn't work you might have a hardware issue. But wait for the download.

I'll definitely try flashing this one. Any specific instructions with ODIN for this? (I might be doing something wrong). Also, I do not believe its a hardware issue as it was fine before I attempted to unroot it today and make it factory default stock rom

Just load it into PDA and only have auto-reboot and f.reset checked

I have flashed the official one from that website and same problem. My WIFI does not work and there are random glitches like the phone being slow and etc. I don't understand what I could have done to cause this and what could possibly be done to fix it.
I think the modem may be an issue. Can someone please confirm?

When I try to slide the WIFI tab, it slides back to off by itself. My phone is i337M and mine and his have a similar issue but different phone type. I flashed 4.4.2 with Odin.
I honestly believe that it's a problem with the kernel/modem. Do you know of a way to change EVERYTHING back to factory settings?

Odin flashes everything back to stock, like new. Try the mk6 version of the firmware.
Edit, what version of Odin ate you using?

Not sure what else to tell you. If Odin isn't working you may have a hardware issue. Odin should return engaguing to like new. The only thing I can think of is you have an issue with the emmc memory, which isn't good.

[Q] Nexus 4 can't flash anything

Hello!
I have a problem with my Nexus 4. It seems doesn't have any os or recovery installed, and when i try to flash any of them, they are flashing well, without any errors, but when i try to open the phone, it remains stuck at the Google logo. It does the same when i try to enter recovery. I don't know what the problem is, i tried everything i could. I replaced the battery, thinking this may be the problem, but still no succes. I'd be very very thankful to you if you could help me with this. Thanks in advance!
Please guys, i really need some help.
Have you tried flashing the factory image with fastboot?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, i tried, but it's not working.
Provided you flashed everything correctly if it's still not booting it's a hardware issue.
I was thinking at this, but i was hoping that is not true, that i can do something to fix it. But i guess it's nothing more i can do

Try locking the bootloader and then reboot. Does it stay locked? If it doesn't your emmc may be bad. I've seen this issue before

Use Odin to update the firmware. It will wipe the device so make sure you backup everything first. But you are on 4.2.2 so you can really flash roms. With the newer firmware you won't be able to if that's important to you

[Q] No call audio.

AT&T I337. I have been having problems for the last few days with in call audio. The phone makes a call then it will make the little beep when the call is connected but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. The speakers and the microphone work on everything else as I have tested them. I tried using the headphone/microphone that came with the phone, not working with those either. The only way I can hear somebody during a call is to use a bluetooth headset. I was running |ROM|★GOLDENEYE★|►XXUGNE8◄|Xposed|►34◄|6.14.14 when this started. I did search and tried everything that was suggested in multiple threads but nothing has helped. I flashed back to stock, still didnt help, did a factory reset. Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You're on mf3 firmware now so safestrap is the only recovery you can use. No twrp or cwm anymore. If I was in your shoes I'd up date to nb1 firmware. There is a new easy easy to root it called towelroot. The Odin file to update can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50912149

If I go NB1 then Safestrap is also the recovery used?
Just in case anyone else runs into this problem, my situation was fixed. I called AT&T and we went through the usual scripted troubleshooting, the rep turned it over to their network engineers. The engineers apparently found a bad antenna causing an area outage, it took them 3 days but they did get it fixed and my phone is functioning properly again.

What can be the issue?

Sure! That would be great if you come up with some solution to this!
Here I am again and I am not sure if I brought the solution for your problem with me.
Truth be told the common solution for WiFi issues is either to flash the latest radio, do a factory reset or reset your router. In your case nothing of this works, so there arent many other options left. We must assume that there is something messed up with your WiFi module.
But try the following first:
- Check if your date and time is correct. Sometimes your device wont let access the internet, because the time/date isnt sync with the time/date on your router
- Did you do anything with your bandwith? There are 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz. You may change it to 'Auto' in your advanced WiFi settings.
- Also uncheck 'avoid poor connections' and turn off WiFi optimization
And to be sure: What exactly happens, when you try to connect to your WiFi? In the best case it says 'Connected', but there is also 'obtaining IP address'. Screenshots pls! And other devices can access internet through WiFi?
I hope something of this works and now I am really bumped. May someone else could help?

Hes been sarcastic surely! Or been one of those people who live to wind people up
Guys are you serious ?? The second you flash note 4 rom you will get your phone bricked don't listen to the trolls here
The N4 firmware has unique system drivers that are incompatible with any other phone, it will not work on the N3. It probably won't even flash. I'm sure you could extract the apps and install some of the system apks, but please don't actually try to flash the whole firmware or you will likely brick your phone.

Everything about the Note 4 OS is different. Even the image file extensions in the apps are different. You have a $300 paperweight most likely

goto settings more networks under connection tab then mobile networks then network operators and search for them. If that fails try differ rom and if that fails I am assuming you have somehow changed your modem. Find one for your country and flash using odin.
Also try Kies emergency firmware recovery using windows laptop or pc.
