Keep entire password visible while typing - How? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my Verizon Note 3 (US), when I type passwords for websites, etc, the password appears as x's. I know that is for security, but I want the entire password to be visible as I type. I have the option turned on where the last character entered is displayed for a second or so.
I have shaky hands and often hit the wrong key, or unintentionally hit a key twice. If I don't catch it while the last character briefly displays, I get password errors. It sometimes takes me 3 or 4 tries to get it right. If the entire password were visible, I could easily see that I mis-typed it and then could correct it before hitting enter.
Is this possible?

Sorry
I dont believe you can keep passwords visible unless the web site has one of those check boxes. The reason for this is because when you input a character it is registered at a web level not a phone level meaning the website itself is blocking the characters to be shown by having the dots.

Thanks for the information. Guess I'll need to pay closer attention to the last typed character as it appears briefly.

alternatively you can type passwords into a note, save it,then copy/paste passwords when needed.

Contacts completion in messaging

I suddenly have to do it without contacts completion in the Messaging program.
Before, I could just type the first 3+ letters of a contact name on the 'To:' line in email/sms/mms/ messages and a pick list came up showing the corresponding contact(s) to pick.
That neat pick list doesn't come up anymore.... not even after a soft reset.
There still is the 'Check names' option in the menu, which also comes up with the appropriate name when entering only a few 'To:' letters, but the pick list is much more efficient ofcourse.
Note: I'm using the 2.00.04 PV PRO Crossbow ROM.
Anyone the solution?
Thanks!!
There...
....already found the solution.
Because every Crossbow version still has this 'Suggestion words when entering text' issue, I set 'suggest after X words' to the maximum of 7 letters, so that when I accidentally forgot to disable the suggesting (when Crossbow's bug enabled it again after a soft reset) the suggesting wouldn't come up by typing short words.
The thing is that, even when the entire suggesting is disabled, the number of letters you set up for 'suggest after X words' still affects the number of letters you need to enter on the 'To:' line in a new message before you see the mentioned pick list.
So, solved.

Force Prediction

Is there a way to force prediction on the keyboard for a field that wouldn't normally have this?
Can I take that as a no?
no,take that as "we don't get you, explain it a bit" and "be patient, you've just waited for an hour and are already bumping"
Actually it was 25 hours, but I will try explain a little better
When on a webpage, both the regular browser and dophin browser allow text entry to parts of webpages.
Some fields such forum message fields (ie the one I am typing in), give predictive text, allow you to type quicker.
Some fields such as usernames do not.
Is there a way to force a field to allow predictive text.
ah,so....that was clear enough...i did spot that, but didn't need that option...but you can choose browser to remember your password
It's actually not just a username field, that was simply an example.
I believe it's done by default..i believe when you have an input field and you have the keyboard, tap the gear that signifies the settings for the keyboard and toggle to settings that will suit your needs.
You can also add words when you type predictive text by pressing the arrow that faces down when you see the word suggestions, and manually type in a word suggestion so that the predictor will give the newly created word as a suggestion. For instance, i've set it so when I type p-r-i on my phone, it autosuggests my username, princedwi.
Hope this helps!
Nope, sorry, still no good.
When I type a text message I get the predictive text, if I type "examp" it will fill in "example", however there are some boxes (mainly in web browser on some websites), php shoutbox for example, that simply don't, if I type "examp" then that's what it says.
Hitting the gear brings up text input settings, but the settings are ok for lots of other text fields, just not all.
Just a guess, but perhaps these particular fields don't use the standard Android 'widget' (not as in desktop app, but as in 'form' control as we call it in programming). For shoutboxes, I'm pretty sure they'll use a custom sort of javascript control, which may not actually use the default android textbox.
Could this be the issue?
Quite possibly.
And would there be a way to force predictive text in those fields.
I get where youre coming from mate - some text entry fields default to T9 and others in other programs default to ABC entry (catching you and me off guard!!)
T9 = Text on 9 keys, so slightly different, but think you know what I mean.
Don't think so
I've filed a bug against prediction being enabled for a password field in the stock Android (bad idea - passwords are not (should not be) dictionary words). This makes me think that prediction is a setting of the input field, and your application (Browser in your case) code simply disables it.
Other than reverse-engineering and patching the app, I don't know of a way to force prediction/autocomplete on.

how to copy text in appointment

I have just bought the HD2 today. I killed my tytn II with a concrete block.
With my Tytn II i would set up an appointment with the persons name and contact numbers as the appointment title. IF i needed to call them i could just highlight the number, copy and paste it into phone and dial.
I was able to
This system was great, i could make a call in about 30 seconds, did not have to try to remember or write down the number - i could do it at a traffic light (and on occasion while driving, but don't tell anyone)
I could also do the same thing with the address, copy it from location and paste into google maps search.
This is proving impossible on the HD2. I can't select anything in the title, location.
In the decsription selecting is tricky, you need to hold down long enough to get the [T] to appear, but a split second too long and it goes to the menu.
OK scrap a lot of that
In playing with it, while writing i discovered that in appointment view, phone numbers hyperlink.
Ok i will keep the phone. was thinking i might have to get a touch pro 2.

Also if the number is in the body of the appointment, a green dial button will appear when the notification message for the appointment pops up.

Contacts Problem in Messaging

Am facing a strange problem with my new Nexus, In Messaging when am trying to compose a message, In TO option it doesn,t show nay name and not even show any names from contacts, For Example, in my Contacts there is a nmae JOHN, but When in Messaging TO Option when i Type J it soesn,t show any contacts started from J, Everytime i have to add the Mobile Number there or Send SMS via Contacts.
Help me regarding this
Unless you memorized the person's area code + number, the name will not appear when you composed regular texts. I have found the fastest way to compose texts is to scroll through the contacts, click the name, and then select the green message smiley. Adds a few seconds of time onto the composition, but you get faster with it when you're used to scrolling through your contacts.

That's not true. I type the first letter of the name and they show up. I know what your problem is too.
You need to edit your contacts and add the number as "Mobile". I assume right now you have them set as "Home" which is the default. Your phone doesn't display "Home" numbers when you're texting.

It was my understanding you had to type two letters to get the auto-suggest to pop up, not just one. Try "JO"...

You can type one or two. His problem is that he has their phone numbers set to "Home" instead of "Mobile".

Seriously, I've always (had a G1 since launch as well) had to type two letters before the suggestions came up, I'm actually testing this right now. Going through each letter of the alphabet, and nothing comes up with just one letter inputted. If your phone does it with one, I'd like to know how!

Oh well I guess you're right. I guess I've never stopped at one letter =P
But either way I know what he's talking about. My wifes number got changed to "Home" a while ago and it would NOT display her name in the TO field. I went to edit her contact and found that it said "Home" so I changed it to "Mobile" and it fixed it.
Speak of the devil. It just did it again and I just fixed it lol.

Question about clipboard

On my Note 4 or my S5, one of them not sure which one, I could lock some things on clipboard and easily attached a number as a short cut, passing the locked message from the clipboard by pressing the corresponding number for 2 sec or more. I use to keep several under lock and would past by pressing that number, each number was attached to a message locked on the clipboard. Can't remember how to attach a number to one of the clipboard messages.
This was very useful to past instructions of long text.
Does anyone know how?
Thanks in advance
