AOSP for our device? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Something really strange and annoying that up till now there's no AOSP for our devices..... Are there any updates... Because I can't wait to see pure Android experience on our devices

First ; Upcoming devices
Our maintainers are working on all of the new flagships, including the new HTC One, S5, Note 3 Exynos and the Oppo Find 7a. More immediately, the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 Wifi (mondrianwifi) and Xperia SP (huashan) are near ready for nightly support. We’ll do a post on our G+ account when these nightlies kick off officially. this tread has been wrote on Last Week in CyanogenMod at 28th of April. I mean we have to wait a lil more.
Second ; you are in wrong section my friend you have to move that on Q/A.
Respect

It is strange for this widespread international flagship vesion to not having AOSP. Despite S4 exynos had AOSP

Because developers not interest exynos 5 based ...

S4 exynos version has lot of ROMS that shows irrespective of make they develop. But note 3 is costlier than S4. So, adoption rate is lesser.

AOSP will be great for Note III but i think we will lose the S-Pen features.

If that's the case, we can try to build it ourselves. People who want to help please reply.

Today I saw COLOR OS ported on note 2.. looked amazing. Sad note 3 exynos has very few developers.

I care. It's a load of crap that a branded (AT&T, none the less) phone has leaks before the international version does. We do not have a stable/usable ICS version yet that doesn't present bricking as a possible outcome.... extremely frustrating.

Midteam 1.1 (CLP6) is great for me and more stable and faster than GB ROMs. I have more bugs and slow work at GB ROMs...
By the number of leaks and news regarding this, I bet we, N7000 users aren't gonna taste ICS anytime soon.

That is an i9220 repack based ROM and bricking your phone is a possible outcome every time you access CWM.

It'll be nice to have an official ICS release for the international Note if only for the purposes of ripping out the necessary drivers and framework tweaks needed to get an AOSP build work perfectly (hardware accelerated video, true S-Pen functionality, MHL output, USB OTG, etc...)
Such a day when this exists, will be glorious for the Note!

We still have two month at maximum to wait... But im really happy with GB. I have had no problems at all with GB and the battery lasts a day with normal usage. Still i really want the new features that have been added on ICS for the S-Memo.
I do not care, go with this to at en t section ore post this in ics sticky thread.

I'm a moderator at AllianceROM (formerly DarkyROM) and I just can't wait until the team develops a sammy ROM for the S3.
I think a CM ROM will not benefit the S3 as it will lose a lot of features which are situated with ****wiz (touchwiz). I think normal sammy ROM's will be more popular with the S3

Upcoming S4 Nexus stock ROM to be backward compatible on existing I9505?

Do you guys expect the stock JB ROM for the upcoming Nexus flavor of the S4 to be backward compatible for existing I9505? That would enable us to get a pure JB experience on our I9505 on a relatively "official" ROM? Presumably this would be stabler/less buggy (wifi, BT, LTE bugs etc) than existing CM10-based custom ROMs? If so, hopefully this will give our resident devs a more resilient base ROM to develop off of.
Look fwd to hearing your thoughts...
It'll be good to get the stock android experience, like one of those inside a Nexus device.

Probably yes assuming they have the same chipset/hardware. Just look at att/verizon being able to flash i9505 roms. How I love the beauty of open source drivers.

the answer is, probably, yes.
notice how the new S4 nexus has the exact SAME SPECS as the i9505 has. (same screen, cpu, gpu, 4LTE.. every single Component is the same as i9505)
that is why i believe roms for the new s4 nexus, will be ok

your device is exynos based, and thus closed source
you will not ever ever find an official release for this device (unless by some magic samsung releases the code)
Really?
Is this the only galaxy device that is closed source or there are others like the gs 4 which samsung didnt released the code for them?

They were able to utiliz the the octa core cpu as intended by samsung? Pretty groundbreaking if so.
I was under the impression that the cm for 9500 was using very generic drivers for the cpu
Thus making it very poorly optimized
But yeah it boots just fine

Duh, it is only the 2nd alpha, hence I mentioned it in my post... It will be a couple weeks before everything gets ironed out but considering the first CM was released on Monday and the only major glitch 4 days later is the cam I'd say they did a pretty good job...

It's a ridiculous statement.

Not all i9505 owners boast about having better open source support etc. I for one am still running stock firmware and I'm happy enough, and will remain so until 4.3 is released. I don't think it is necessary to split the camp between i9500 and i9505, and certainly no need to have childish squabbles.

27AUG2013 We need more Android 4.2 ROMS

Android 4.3/CM10.2 ROMS are growing in number, and many former Android 4.2 and CM 10.1 ROMS have been evolved into the newer builds. Problem is that Graphic Glitches on Android 4.3 for Samsung Exynos phones are substantial, and they make the user experience quite unstable and at times very irritating.
We need developers to continue updating 4.2 ROMS with the latest features (e.g. Focal, HALO2, etc...) for a while until the Graphic glitches on 4.3 ROMS are dealt with sufficiently. Maybe a new PA or CM 10.1 ROM would be a good place to start. Current 4.2.2 ROMS still being developed lack many new features and recent updates.
Thanks for everyone who helps. If you agree with the idea, press THANKS below to show the number of those interested.

Try out SlimRom build 8. It's 4.2.2 and stable, fast and battery friendly and include all the customization options you need.
With that said I would also like to say that my modded stock and odexed 4.1.2 is working like a charm and nothing beats it.
Try developing yourself and you will know how difficult it is. Just begging and demanding don't work. Go fork some repos and port 4.3 changes back into 4.2
And the issue of graphic glitches is not anyone's but Samsung's fault because they haven't released updated GPU drivers. And non of the 4.3 Roms mentioned stable so such glitches are expected.
If you are not satisfied with whats avilablr then either make your own stuff or suffice with whats available.
