New ROM :: 407 OFFICIAL GB ROM - OLLEH - Remove default APNs

since my carrier uses a lot of different apn addresses depending on which contract you have, I always must manually edit the preset ones to my needs. I noticed that in this ROM by default you cannot edit, delete or even just view said default APNs (you still can add them to your liking though, so no real harm done).
while fiddling through the build.prop file in this new gingerbread rom I happened to stumble upon these two lines:
ro.build.OEM_PRESET_APN_LOCK=1
ro.build.OEM_PRESET_APN_HIDE=1
I changed the values to 0 and now the APN entries are fully editable and removable. just a quick reminder of the correct procedure:
- have a rooted streak
- install a root-enabled file explorer (root explorer works fine)
- mount system as R/W
- goto /system and edit file build.prop
- search for the above lines and change 1 to 0 (duh!)
- save, exit, reboot, enjoy
note: I found multiple instances of those two lines throughout the file. check thoroughly and change them all!
Awesome. I'm finding it.
Gonna give a try....
Btw, how to show up sim toolkit on apps drawer.
Thanks

[Q] How to modify Time Zone in build.prop

I try to modify original CM7 ROM for myself and I want to set time Zone default as UTC+8,
In build.prop I find "ro.build.date.utc=0" and change value to +8, but it is not work when first time boot, how can I do?
You need to set persist.sys.timezone
for example
persist.sys.timezone=Europe/Amsterdam

[Q] How to change build.prop

I want to change some proprieties of the build.prop
(ro.secure=0==>1
ro.debuggable=1==>0
persist.service.adb.enable=1==>0)
But I don't know to change that in Rom 4.2 onwards (I could change it in Kayant's 4.1.1 AOKP Rom by changing /system/bootmenu/config/default.prop but this method don't work on another CM android 4.2 Rom)
How to change the build.prop (or the corresponding values)?
(Coz the app I want to use is checking those values, and refuses to start if it detects ro.secure=0 or ro.debuggable=1 or persist.service.adb.enable=1)
(I want to move to a new Rom but I have to solve this problem first)

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Use Root Explorer and change it, easiest way

Yeah I get your meaning, but I typed "default.prop" as "build.prop", which have huge difference in terms of how to change its value, sorry for the muddled I caused.
I think I'll start a new post, as I can't edit the title..., and to be more clear to other who read it. Please also answer in the new post
P.S. please wait for me to open the new post at least five minute as I still have the five-minute post restriction lol

Changing DPI does not work; please help

Hey Guys,
I have an S7 Edge and was always able to change the DPI via any common method.
For some weeks it´s somehow not possible. I tried while on various ROMs.
I tried via editing Build.prop, Android Terminal App, DPI Changing Apps and via Terminal on Mac and Windows.
It just doesnt work....
I noticed that being on BobCat ROM it works.... But with no other ROM. I tried them all on XDA.
Does anybody have an idea why and/or how to fix this?
I appreciate every reply.
You need to have root acces and use a file manager (I use Solid Explorer), open build.prop with the Solid Explorer built in editor (SE Text editor) and find and change the following line:
ro.sf.lcd_density=560
(560 is the best value that you can apply, anything bellow that dpi messes up the touchwiz apps).
Save the file and presto!!!
I hope this can help.
Best regards!!!
Not working. Build.prop shows the new value but no visual change is seen
Did you restart your device?
