[Q] HTC Desire 310, need help for root, rom, cwm ... - HTC Desire 310 Questions & Answers

Hi @ all, Im am new here q xda-developers and the Android OS.
I have the HTC Desire 310, the first HTC Device with a Quad Core 1,3 Ghz Meditek ARM MTK 6582 & Mali 400
Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
Chipset Mediatek MT6582M
CPU Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7
GPU Mali-400MP2
MEMORY Card slot microSD, up to 32 GB
Internal 4 GB, 1 GB RAM
I have looking all around and could´t find any way to root it. I´ve read that HTC has a locked Bootloader so i am not sure if i could use Tools like Shuame or MTK Droidtools to Root the HTC Desire 310.
The same Problem is about a CWm to make a Backup and to have a Rom to change some things .
The other thing is that i am looking for a rom for that phone and can i use any of the other roms that are for MTK 6582 based phones or do i need some special things becouse of HTC?
Can i handle the HTC Desire 310 like any other MTK6582 with Mali 400 GPU Platform or are they something specials becouse of HTC ?
And is it possible to port some KitKat Rom from another "Stock Android" to the HTC Desire 310?
In the meaning the old three Questions for a new Phone:
1. How to Root?
2. How to install CWM and made a recovery ROM?
3. Where to Hell, are all the cool Roms for my Phone? ( or how can i make it self?)
Hope you can help me guys to find my way for that goals.

try framaroot
you can unlock it at htcdev, but it is less useful then a regular unlock. remember, im not an htc head, i spend most of my time with lg and samsung stuff.

Yup
Framaroot will help
And I guess that htcdev won't be that helpful as Sony itself couldn't unlock the bootloader of xperia c
Root then build cwm from yuweng's recovery porting tool
Still try Framaroot then MTK droid root tools then report
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:

Sorry Framaroot didn´t work. I´ve trie´d all the three options.
Any Other Ideas?
What is with tools like Shuame?
For the rooting, have i to use some HTC stuff or tools specialized for the mediatek devices? Or both?
I´ve found some sites, talking aboutthe upcoming Kitkat´s for Mediatek Boards like the MTK 6582
HERE They say that they have a ROM, would that be helpfull for the HTC Desire 310, if i follow all of these steps in that Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123239?
And i have read that all HTC Devices have S-On and i have to "S.off" it before rooting?

i want to buy this device, but i will wait until it can be root. and i want to ask you, did your device have an autofocus? i have no clue about this, and maybe you can help to answer this. thanks.

I rooted my Desire 310 using "Root Genius" without a problem
But today i bricked it because i Made a Backup with mtk droid tools and wanted to make cwm for it :/
The reflashing using sp Tool was Bad D;

@ tentrahedrite
The HTC Desire 310 have no autofokus and that is for all Kamerfunctions not so good. Picture are ok in Daylight but at night or in rooms its all the pictures are to dark. The same when a Motiv is to near, Fixfokus style ...
My Reason to buy it was the Performance of the MTK8582, 17313 Antutu, If could choose again i would buy some othe Phone with MTK6582 or similar. The Performance is also the same, but screen could be bigger and camera vetter and more internal Memory.
@ EternalFame
That are really bad news, I knew that frustrating feeling if no possible fix is reachable. I am very sorry for you, Bro.
That was my Reason to ask here the Experts befor start experiments.
But i mean they are ways to fix it, i could imagine that the xda-developer member, called : baadnews can find him at insertcoin-roms, the most common expert for HTC stuff, maybe knew some ways. Is a try worth.
But for the beginnig, it is good to know the Rooting with RootGenius is Possible, i am just wondering why it works, because they say , befor rootimg, S-Off have to be Set instead of S-On. What means the the Bootloader or something is locked. Not sure if that is right.
But on the other side, that is the first HTC Device with a Meditek SOC.
If i can in any way help, just say bro
(sorry all for my bad english)

Just dump the recovery via flashify and add a .img extention to it if it isnt there
Then try and reflash it via mobile uncle tools
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:

You can root with Kingo Android ROOT. But I have boot loop with i flash recovery HTC desire HD. You do not have stock rom? Give me the link? Sorry i use google translate

I can't find any of roms for Desire 310, so no need to install cwm or mess something with device yet.

Lost with X5 and X5 Pro

Hi. I was looking in the terminal catalogue of Movistar, and i found this mobile in his model U8800h, which is the newest Ideos X5 Pro. I´m looking for it (it´s cheap for his specs) but i encounter a problem.
There are two models of this telephone, the normal X5 (U8800, 800 mhz processor, discontinued) and the X5 Pro, which is the one that Movistar offers, and its called U8800H and mounts a 1ghz processor, 512 mb ram and 5 mpx camera. It looks great for his prize, almost like the first SGS.
Here are my questions:
-I know that U8800 and U8800H roms are not compatible, or that´s what i read, but...there are U8800H or X5 Pro roms actually? I don´t know if the Miui rom of the dev forum is for X5 or for X5 Pro.
-X5 Pro can be rooted+set a recovery?
-There are at least Gingerbread stock or tweaked GB roms for it?
Sorry if this is already asked, but i´m kinda lost with this terminal. It looks good, but i don´t want to buy an Android without any Crom for it.
Greetings!
u8800 (aka Ideos x5) cpu [email protected], 512mb ram,4gb rom, no fm tx, Qualcomm wifi (libra)
u8800H (aka Impulse 4G for usa market) cpu [email protected], 512mb ram,4gb rom, fm rx/tx, Broadcom wifi solution (bcm4329)
u8800Pro (aka Ideos x5 pro) cpu [email protected], 512mb ram,4gb rom, fm rx/tx, Broadcom wifi solution (bcm4329)
also exist something called u8800-51 but no info for this one
u8800 can be rooted via various apps and software like superoneclickroot also recovery via cwm mod and pink mode
u8800pro can be rooted only via superoneclickroot software and recovery via pink mode
i have no info about u8800h and u8800-51 rooting and recovery solution
Then i think the Movistar device is the U8800 Pro, because they offer it as a 1ghz terminal and also is shown as it in a commercial video.
There are custom roms for the Pro terminal? It´s great to hear that there is root and recovery (idk what that pink thing is, maybe i need a tutorial), but, if there is no rom, at least i can find a custom kernel for it? Like Francokernel for Optimus One.
no custom rom's or kernel's for u8800pro as i know, but at least big posibility for official 2.3.5 after huawei vision(aka u8850) release cuz hardware wise its prety mauch same device
And maybe is possible to port roms from Huawei Vision to the Ideos X5 Pro, i´m right?
Well, if with root i can make some tweaks to the stock froyo, that can be right. If the performance is better than LG Optimus One with Gingerbread i´ll choose it.
Thanks
The performance is way better than lg optimus one. And there will be ROM's for it, that's for sure. It's just too fresh now
I hope so It´s a very cheap phone for the specs it has. I´ll follow the scene and see if appear something interesting I think only the 1ghz processor makes the difference between this an O1. Thanks for the answer
Greetings.
Bigger screen makes difference too. And better GPU. On the processor side, even non-pro U8800 would be way better than lg optimus one, because it has ARMv7 processor, not ARMv6
Yeah, and i´m amazed it cost about the same as the Optimus One in the catalogue, ever less points (70.000 vs 80.000, and they give you more or less 70.000 as a gift, then 0€ terminal)
I´ll check it. It´s a shame that there are not CRoms yet. But i have a question, what´s that "pink mode" thing you said before? It´s a certain recovery?
Greetings
It's something like fastboot mode on htc. When you load it, you can access all your phone partitions, so you can mess with files, recoveries etc.
Other Huawei phones also seems to have the pink mode you're referring to. However they do not seem to allow access to the different partitions. That is nothing is mounted.
From analysis it looks like other phones don't have a memory controller which controls the access. I'm sure there is a way to do this, but haven't been able to find any information yet..
If anyone has any ideas - let me know..

Hello guys. Can sameone upload stock rom from C7 that I can use it to revive phone from stock recovery ? I have problem with bootloop, so until I dont get a rom, phone will be useless.
I will upload mine, but i have made backup with mtk droid tools and it is about 1.5gb large, i will upload tonight. Greetings

Hi, i said i will upload it tonight, i have compressed file and it is now 500mb. My upload is so slow, 80kbps, so it need about 2h to upload. If you dont mind i will upload it tomorrow and will give you a download link so you can restore backup with MTK Droid tools.
No problem mate. Anyway my phone is on warranty to 1st April. I asked for a rom becouse I rooted it and I dont know that service fix it.
Here it is, download this and extract Backup folder to MTK droid tools root folder and do the procedure for restoring a rom, it can take a while and you need to know how to work with mtk tools, search on the internet for info and explanation. And your warranty is off when you root your phone,
regards

How is the Alcatel POP C7 guys? You like it? I consider buying it as a spare phone.
It is good. It is good for that money. Only dissadvantage is 512mb ram, but overal i will give it 8.5 out of 10.

Thanks for the quick reply~ How about the screen resolution and camera? For it's money it looks like a good phone indeed! I might buy it tomorrow
Screen resolution is weak 854x480, and screen is classic LCD, so viewing at angles is a bit difficult. Camera is good at day, but bad at night. Flash at night only captures in sport mode, in classic mode flash isnt seen on image and it is dark.. If only some developer do some tweaks it might be better since we have rooted it and it is possible to change system app. It handles todays high graphic games with no problem, so dont worry about performance. If i had to chose like two months ago i would buy it again.
Regards, Mladen from Serbia
Since i have seen here a little support for our C7 phones, i thought to bring a little contribution by uploading an original backup of mine , only rooted to do this, with no upgrades other then as it came from the shop 3 days ago. The backup has been made with MTKdroidTools v2.5.3 and inside the 7z archive you will find info and log of this backup.
I how that this will help those who bricked their phone or want to restore it as it was.

I think the problem is that the phone isn't sold in the US and most of the big countries. It's mainly sold in 3rd world countries like the one I live in and no one gives a [Mod edit: profanity not allowed] about custom roms around here.
it also sells in europe, i realy doubt there are no develpoers in europe

Upgrade/Update HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim to 5.0 Lollipop
Leave a reply
I rewrite this tutorial from forum.xda-developers.com :
The users of HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim can now update their handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop using custom ROM. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with many new features :
– Up to 4x performance improvements.
– A battery saver feature which extends device use by up to 90 mins.
– It has a faster, smoother and more powerful computing experience.
– Support for 64-bit SoCs using ARM, x86, and MIPS-based cores.
– OpenGL ES 3.1 and Android extension pack brings Android to the forefront of mobile graphics putting it on par with desktop and console class performance.
– Responsive, natural motion, realistic lighting and shadows, and familiar visual elements make it easier to navigate your device.
– More intelligent ranking of notifications based on who they’re from and the type of communication. See all your notifications in one place by tapping the top of the screen.
– New devices come with encryption automatically turned on to help protect data on lost or stolen devices.
– SELinux enforcing for all applications means even better protection against vulnerabilities and malware.
– State of the art video technology with support for HEVC main profile to allow for UHD 4K 10-bit video playback, tunneled hardware video decoding to save power and improved HLS support for streaming.
– and other cool features.
Here are some more aspects that users should know before trying out the custom ROM :
– Users need to have proper back-up for their personal data on the phone.
– The handset should have at least 80 percent of battery power.
– The users also need to ensure that USB Debugging is enabled on the phone.
– During the installation, if the device gets stuck on booting, users can perform wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik before rebooting the phone.
Tutorial :
1. Download Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM from link below :
The ROM File size is 128 MB, so I split the file into 3 parts :
ROM Part 1 : http://goo.gl/7pyL97
ROM Part 2 : http://goo.gl/ffHU2x
ROM Part 3 : http://goo.gl/l1zKh5
To combine 3 parts files above into 1 file just use WINRAR, then extract the files into ZIP format.
If any problem with the ROM, maybe because the ROM have corrupted during the download process, you can try to re-download the ROM.
2. Install the ROM Manager on your HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).
3. Connect your HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the “ROM.zip” file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup/restore to back-up your information.
5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache). When completed, go back to Recovery Principal Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ”ROM.zip” file and follow the directions for installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on your HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim. As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your HTC Desire 820 Dual Sim device, and here you go, you’ve just upgraded it to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop.

HTC Wildfire E Lite

I have a HTC Wildfire E Lite as a backup phone. I realise it's not like the old HTC devices in the rest of this forum - it's pretty generic hardware I suspect.
It runs Android 10 Go Edition, which I really don't like. Ideally I'd like to install a fully-fledged version of Android. To this end I've managed to unlock the bootloader, and now require a (stock) Android 10 image. Failing that, even just the right boot image for rooting (I've tried Kingoroot - no luck).. But after searching the web I can't find anything for this model of phone. Given its generic hardware, is it possible to use an image made for other devices?
Specs:
Android v10 (Q)
Quad core, 1.8 GHz, Cortex A53 processor
MediaTek Helio A20 Chipset
2 GB RAM
32 GB internal storage
Hi.
I might have an idea on how you could go about this.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not a tech guru but the info I have should be able to get you what you want.
I got most of these info because of my desperation for optimization when I owned a potato (Infinix Smart 3). It literally had no Dev support, even in XDA. My recent phone has no support either but it's smooth enough for me so I'll just share my knowledge with you!
First, I'll advice you to backup your stock ROM. Have you heard of Wwr MTK? Or SP flash tool? These are the Mediatek tools you'll need to backup your stock images. JSYK your processor, Helio A20, is codenamed MT6761D. That'll come in handy!
Use this video to learn more on how to use them:
And please I'll have to beg you not to use Kingoroot. It's a very dated root method so I'll advice you to use Magisk. Here (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk), you'll get all the info you'll need to install Magisk.
Also, if you're looking for a stable custom ROM to use, you can use Android 10 or Android 11 GSI system image from XDA recognised Phh. Find them here( https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases)
Also, if you want to have the same experience as on Google Pixel devices, you could also use Pixel Experience or Pixel Experience+ GSIs. Find them here (https://github.com/ponces/treble_build_pe/releases)
If you run into any issues, you could contact me on WhatsApp (https://wa.me/2348107260090)
Or Telegram (https://t.me/si_nach) or just search @si_nach
Hope this helps! Have Fun!
Awesome! Thank you! I'm going to give it a go in the next few days and will update with the results. Much appreciated
