Signal for Fire TV Released - Fire TV General

Hi all. Just wanted to let everyone know that I've released my new app called "Signal for Fire TV" after getting some great feedback from members here. The Signal app will take phone, sms and app notifications from your Android phone or tablet and display them on the Fire TV. For example, if you get a call on your phone, a popup will be displayed on your Fire TV showing you the name of the person calling, even if it's in the middle of watching a movie. All the features of the app are free to try for 3 days and if you like it you can use an in app purchase to continue using it. I'd appreciate any feedback too.
Here are some links:
Download the app here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.jigawattlabs.signal
Details on app here: http://www.jigawattlabs.com/signal-for-fire-tv

Thanks,

Kindle

While the Kindle app runs, it is somewhat sluggish when page turning... definitely could use some work. This is the response I received from Amazon regarding it:
Hello,
I understand your concern regarding the update of Honeycomb version of Android.
At this point of time, we do not have specific information as to when this update will be made available. I have let the kindle team know about this, so that they will carefully review your suggestions and will regularly work on improvements to your Kindle experience.
Thanks for writing your valuable suggestions. We'll honor your commitment by continuing to provide the quality product availability and support you expect for your Kindle.
Thanks for using Kindle.

My original support request to them:
Comments:On the Motorola Xoom tablet, the application is very sluggish. I was just wondering when/if you guys would be releasing an update of the app to support the Honeycomb version of Android better.
Thanks!

I too am very interested in this update. Another point that could be greatly improved is when in landscape mode having the Kindle app show 2 pages instead of resizing one page to where its so wide its hard to read.
I am also very interested in an update to the Kindle app for honeycomb. A 2 page view for landscape viewing would be much better, it just looks goofy the way it is now. I'm thinking about using google books until Amazon updates the app, but I would rather have all of my content in one place.
Agreed. An update is very necessary. Two page landscape and performance are paramount.

Amazon is supposed to be launching their own Android app store this month:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/01/amazon-appstore-for-android-launching-this-month/
With all the attention they're going to get on Android with this app store launch, I can't believe that they wouldn't also be working on making the Kindle Android app shine on Honeycomb now that both the SDK and the first HW using it are out. I would assume it's just a question of time.
Amazon has been really goo about updating their apps, so I don't imagine it will take very long for them to get something out. With so many tablets coming out they won't want to miss out on that user base.
Yes I'm looking forward to a new tablet centric version of Kindle. I used the Amazon app almost exclusively on iPad it really shined there, it has to shine on Android tablets too. I agree that Amazon investing an Android App Market has to mean they intend to make Kindle work well with Android.
Right now I'm using Nook for Android until Kindle gets up to speed. I agree with the other comments the biggest issue right now is the lack of two page view in landscape. Reading books in landscape without it is awkward and reading it with the wide screen table in portroit mode is painful
Same here, looking forward to the kindle tablet app.
I have never used the kindle app on android before, but I have a quick question.
Does anybody know if you can hook up a kindle account to android if it's already linked to an actual kindle device? If you can, can you also read on both devices at the same time?

I believe you can. Kindle allows you to sync on any Kindle app. For instance, I have a book synced to my Kindle for PC, Kindle for Android and Kindle for Ipad.
Best part is it syncs your place within the book across all the platforms as well.

I have a kindle (3rd generation) that is linked to my Amazon kindle account.
When I ran the Android Kindle app, I logged in, and all of my previously purchased books were in the "Archived" section. I was able to open the book I was currently reading on the Kindle on the Xoom and read it without issue.
BTW, I haven't noticed any "sluggish" behavior from the Kindle app - but maybe I am just lucky.

Specifically the sluggish behavior is in the page turn. When you move the page it is really bad looking, which doesn't affect reading, it is more of a superficial issue. Just something they should polish when they fix landscape viewing (2 pages).
do not be surprised when Amazon announces that you will only be able to get further Android Kindle App updates via their App store.

As long as the app is free, I'll install their market for it. Then never use their market again. /shrug
looking forward to the updated kindle for honeycomb app.
when/if the amazon market comes, i'll welcome it. competition is a good thing...
i have a kindle and have a dozen or so books on my amazon account, so i definitely want to get the more tablet-friendly app asap.
hell, amazon is litteraly losing book sales from me right now as the last 2 books i bought through bn as their app is better on our xooms (though still needs to be updated as well).

Amazon Market

So i just got to getting the Amazon Market on my xoom so i can download Chuzzle for free since today is its launch. Every time I try to buy something it says
To purchase Chuzzle, please add a default address in your 1-click settings.
Which I had just set it up about 3 hours ago and have a default address established.
Any ideas? I only have 9 hrs to get chuzzle for free.

I had a similar issue from my Xoom... I just go on my computer to signin/ purchase it and then I have it.
Downloaded the Amazon App and its in there, so I can download it now as I wish.
Round-about way of doing it, but it works.
I will try this, thank you very much.

I know this isn't an amazon forum, but why is it telling me I can't log in on my computer be a use "there already is an account associated with [E-mail address]" it is my account and I'm signing in with the correct password.

Strange, but I read the text under Chuzzle, it says "not compatible with Tablets, Droid etc"
So it is not for xoom yet.
I got chuzzle from amazon. it works OK. it is portrait mode only and certainly not optimized for tablet. but when/if it gets updated I will already have it.
as for the 1click thing, I had trouble with that at first too. just setup your 1click preferences online and you will be fine from then on.
Same here as jace, I d/l all the apps Amazon offers for free as eventually (hopefully), they will be updated to support HC. Nothing like free apps!

TV NOW app.

My question here is one I'm not sure on. TV Now is a 6 dollar app on the market.. TV now and tv now lite are available. Before this became a paid app it was previously known as TVShows and the full version that I have was free and did not require payment. Is this a repostable ApK with outgetting in trouble by mods? Requires 2.2 o 2.3 OS to run. Right now this app has access to almost any show that has aired on tv available for u to stream over 3g or 4g. If I can repost...all epic users enjoy. Waitng for green light from a mod.

I had purchased the TVShows app a while back and had not used it much, looked in the market and found it missing. Now it has a new name and I can not download the new version. I emailed the developer and ill see what i get...
Are you sure that TV Now is TV Shows? My app shows [email protected] as the previous support.
Tv now is tv shows. I use it on a regular basis. Has csi ncis southpark family guy and tons of others
A lot of the paid movie Alps disappeard. I think cause they were pirated movies. That's my guess. For example watch movies now, movie stream, megaviewer pro.

We are the developers of "TV Shows Stream" and "Movie Stream". We are NOT the developers of others applications with similar names. Our developer name is "Loading Home". Google has removed “TV Shows Stream” and “Movie Stream” Applications from android Market. (Several other applications have also been removed from android market on the same day 27th May ) The application will continue working as usual and we will continue offering support for all current customers, but we will not be working on new improvements or updates at this moment. We have contacted google trying to receive further information and asking them how we could modify the app to avoid further problems in android market.

I paid for both Apps, which I used quite frequently, but with the 2.3 Gingerbread I was forced to wipe my phone. Coupled with the market removing the Apps, what's my course of action to get these? [email protected]

Accidentally "updated" Kindle app via Google Market, need original Kindle Fire .apk

Accidentally "updated" Kindle app via Google Market, need original Kindle Fire .apk
Hello, all! I apologize for intruding on your forums, I really do. But I've found myself in a spot of trouble, as the title might tell you. I just need the regular 'ole Kindle app that comes with the Fire, because the general Android app...well, it's just not as good, at least on a Fire, which has a nice integrated experience. So if someone can supply me with that, I would be mighty glad.
Also, and this might also be a little redundant...I noticed, after the 6.3 update, I can't use restore my root. I was trying to install Avast! but found that I RootRestore wasn't working. Will I need to do it once more? It's not a big deal, and I probably need to check out this convenient-sounding Kindle Fire Utility anyway.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this, and I really am sorry if this app has been posted before. I do Google extensively before I make ask forums for help, especially a forum I don't frequent like such as this one.
For the issue with the kindle app, all you need to do is go back to the google market, select the kindle app and choose uninstall updates.

Wired Magazine APK Request

I recently purchased a Nexus 7, which I understand to have the same resolution as a Kindle Fire HD 8.9". I used to be able to run the Wired APK from the Amazon app store, but the old version of the APK that I have force closes on my Nexus 7. Would someone be willing to download the Wired app from the Amazon App Store on to their Fire HD (I don't believe the specific size model matters), and upload or email me the APK so I can sideload it?
I can't download the app directly since I have a different device, and the app is only listed as compatible with Kindle Fire and Nook HD models.
Thanks in advance!
up! i need it too, thank you
Nobody?? On a rooted Kindle Fire, this would have to take, what... all of five minutes? Maybe ten?
We aren't the first to ask for this, there are a lot of people out there who would really appreciate having the APK to at least give a shot!
