Have you disabled Google Search?
If so, try enabling it and see if the Voice thingy is back.

I want Google VOICE ACTIONS on 2.1

I know voice actions is only available on android 2.2, is there anyway we can get the .Apk file for our 2.1
I want Voice Actions too. I've been pretty happy with Vlingo as a substitute though.

Google is yur friend, but here. Youll prob have to download an app installer from the market and also make sure you have have checked the phone to allow installation of 3rd party apps.

I already have voice search which is great. But I want voice actions, which is only available on 2.2
vlingo is good, but I'd rather use Google's stuff. Stupid X10 not upgrading to 2.2
And I did do a google search first and couldn't find an .apk for voice actions.
Anybody?!!!
I was going to use Vlingo but it only supports spanish on blackberrys.

What I do like about this one, is it follows through and does the action without having to click anything. Example... text, Heather, "Please call me". It actually sends the text message without opening messaging.

[Q] Can I set Google Now to detect voice straight away?

Hey guys can I set Google Now to detect voice as soon as I swipe up? I can't see options and it would be much easier whilst so I can send a text with touching my phone less for safety.
Thanks guys
I tried to do that as well but I didn't find any option. I doubt it's possible with stock phone. But I really hope I'm wrong.

Setting>Voice>Hotword Detection ??
Then after swiping up to open Google Now, you just say "Google" and what you want it to do..
example: "Google, Text Someone Don't Forget the Milk"

Saying "Google" to start voice detection should be on by default. At least I've always had it.

This, your language must be set to "English (US)" for the hotword to work. I tried it out for a while (I'm from the UK) but I didn't use it so switched back.

Good shout. This works.

"hey google" not showing up...

So. I loaded up the Nexsys 5, Google home, PrebuiltGmsCore and Velvet apks on the Hyper 1.1 Rom. All works fine, except, I don't get the "say Google" on the google search bar.
I tried the moving off English US to UK and back.. but that didn't help.
Also, one iteration of me playing around, it was there for a brief time and then gone when I reloaded... so I know its possible, just don't know enough about the way its setup to know what to look for.
Any help would be great!
TIA

OK FIXED!!!!!!!!!
This is what I did...
Under Language and Input, > Google voice typing, >settings >Offline speech recognition.
Go to the all tab and make sure English (US) is the only option and re-download it.
Thanks for all the suggestions...

hangout app emojis after update 4.4

Hello guys,
quick question here.
I updated last night my sprint galaxy s4
but now I don't see the google emojis on the hangout app
I only see the samsung emojis
Thank you. !
EDIT:
a user said this:
Samsung baked a custom hangouts in the rom to show their emoji instead.
Not exactly sure how that happened. My emoji button is attached to the text input bar on the left with location and photo on the right. There was an update released in the past few days. Tried uninstalling updates and reinstalling it?

Nothing to share. Just use any keyboard that isn't Samsung's keyboard and the emoji icon will reappear.

kind of strange
Is there a way to go back to the hangout style of emojis? I dont like the samsung looking icons, rather have the stock hangouts.
today I checked the hangouts app and it is showing the stock emojis
I am not sure how it happened but it is back.
Although when they display on the text field it shows the samsung ones :/
Exactly, I dont like that, I see the stock ones since I use Swiftkey. But when I enter them in or anyone else on the chat enters a emoji it shows as the samsung one. EERRRR

As long as you're stock, there's nothing you can do. It goes beyond just the hangouts app. As if they built it into their framework or something. Any emoji displayed on the phone at all will be displayed as the samsung version. I could go into more detail but, meh...

Hello to all. When i have numbers without name in call app and i click on the side to make a new entry of them the "call App" has stoped. Any solutions for that ?
Why not just use different contact and call apps? Like the Google ones? The LeEco ones suck, frankly.

Really? Do you not have access to the Play Store? Go to the Play Store and search for Google Contacts. Install it. Then search for Google Dialer. Install it. Look for the default apps section in Settings and change them to be your default apps. How much hand-holding do you need? Is this your first smartphone?
