[Q] Facing a little problem - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I am a huge fan of the game mass effect.. I first played it over my cousin's device and after sometime even I upgraded to a better device (Sony Xperia SP).. Wanted to the play the game named mass effect infiltrator.. I downloaded it from a torrent but it dirn't worked as it was stuck at EA Logo, then i read somewhere to delete the dynamic prefabs or something like that file in the data but still it didn't,worked.. i tried several apk's but either all of them were having the same problem i.e. game wasn't moving ahead of the 'update check'.. Can anyone provide me with the download links? PS- there was no problem with my internet connection..

Mass effect is a paid app. Asking for help about getting it for free is considered warez and against xda rules: 6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez and nor do we permit any member to request, promote or describe ways in which warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community.

HD2 Transformers Movie

Hello, I accidently deleted the Transformers movie off my storage card when I formatted it. Can someone upload it on here for me. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
that question has been posted so many times on here, pcgeeks, and tmobiles forums, nobody has been able to zip up the contents and upload it somewhere unfortunately
if i hadnt done the same thing i would gladly do it.
i have heard others say to go to a tmobile store and bring a laptop to transfer the files, but not sure if that works.
also, others have suggested calling HTC and see if they can send you a replacement card, but they may charge you like $70.
i still have it but im not sure about posting those videos online. idk if its considered piracy since our devices came with the movie. if its okay i'll make a torrent of those two movies.
mods is it okay to post or is it considered piracy?
Its piracy if someone other than an owner of the t-mobile HD2 were to download it but you should make the file pass protected and post it on this thread or something so as to cut down on piracy.
Well I actually own the phone though, I never even got to see all of it! Could someone make it password protected for only me to download? I asked HTC (they respond within a few hours) and said that I would need to contact t-mobile.
do u have a torrent client? i could post em up by torrent and seed just for you.
i might as well upload on megaupload but that may take forever.
pretty sure it piracy and just by xda-developers keeping this thread open is open to them getting in trouble. I would suggest PMing if you guys wish to keep this conversation open.
Yes I also need a Magnet link in My PM for a Torrent backup of the missing movies, I bought mine on craigslist today from a young Vietnamese kid who said the phone was too big, sdCard was formatted already, but got it for $300 bucks cannot complain!!!!
Still would like the transformer films
still open for people who'd like to help us!
......bump!
Let me try and be as clear as possible about this:
It is illegal for anyone to post a copy of those movies online. In any form.
The problem isn't whether or not you have the right to watch or download the movie.
The problem is that only the copyright holders of the movies have the right to control the distribution of their content. The copyright holders did grant the rights to distribute the movie to the new owners of an HD2 strictly to T-Mobile and under very specific circumstances.
Not you, not I, not even T-Mobile can give you a new copy of these movies legally. Any promises otherwise are made either in ignorance of the law or in direct violation of it.
You can own 20 DVD copies of these movies, bought direct from the producer and you still do not have the legal right to distribute them to other people. You do not even have the right to download them from someone else, if that person does not have written permission from the copyright-holder(s).
It is not about who owns what, it's about who has the right to distribute it and how.
T-Mobile does not own the right to distribute the movies. They have leased the option to distribute them via very specific circumstances. If they offered these movies to their customers via any other method, without leasing the right to do so, they could and would be sued.
Please do not post links to or offer to post links to any copyrighted material on this website.

I got rid of the movies when I reformatted my disk. I still have the transfomers icon though. When i tap it says the movies are not able to be found.' Thats fine. However, i would like to map the icon to a file on my disk called movies" and have them show up. Does anyone know the registry chain that will allow me to do this?
Thanks.

You can't others have already tried, there is a whole thread about this very issue.
As for people who have formatted their cards there are two outcomes. One if you do not have a tmobile store near you, you're SOL and won't be able to get the movies back.
The other option is go into your local T-mobile store and see if they have any HD2s in returns and see if they are willing to trade SD Cards with you. Back up all your stuff on your original card first before going into the store. If they swap the card for you then go home and copy the movies to your computer for backup. That way if you delete them again for some reason they are saved on your computer. Just copy them back to your SDCard in this file order: Sdcard->Transformers->Movie Files.
just go download the movie, convert to mp4 format and change the file name to match the program... i
Agree with Snarksneeze.
@froggylover1345,
What you are requesting is pirated material (whether you owned the movie or not). It is against forum rules to request any kind of copyrighted material unless it is explicitly written by the author of such that it is ok to share it (and something tells me that Michael Bay hasn't told any of us that it could be done).
Having said this,
a. Don't request this kind of material (against it is against forum rules)... consider this a "friendly warning".
b. I am closing this thread before someone does get a chance to upload the movie in here...

*** virus

There is a virus inside elternal legacy HD (especially) and asphalt 6!
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THESE FROM ***!!!
It will take you to a fake gameloft survey where you say your country and favourite os, and when you touch "send", it says 'thank you for your donation' and sends infinite messages, charging your phone bill. The only way to stop this is battery remove or task killer.
I wasn't one of the victims!
That's why you should only download apps with descriptions and developer names
Thus, thou shall not use warez.
+1 yup.............
AVG android id's virus in GingerBreak?
Just by dumb luck, I had loaded avg pro on atrix. When blithlely following directions to load GingerBreak, received message from avg that program contains a virus and I conclude that either: 1. I had to unload avg and then load GingerBreak or 2. ask in this forum if this message is for real. Any and all responses will be welcome.
Thats the reason why i deleted *** from my Phone! There are so much Viruses, in which you will have to pay. If you want to be safe, buy them at the Android Market!
Regards
*** is down anyways now... so peace

The problem is that the android market is also not safe from viruses (although, probably more safe since it's monitored by Google and they can remotely remove malicious apps...).
I currently use lookout but wondering if there is a better antivirus.
How is AVG ? I'm using it on my desktop computer and like it but somehow got the feeling that it's too "heavy" for Android.
Morning mate,
You can use ESET. Has has now their own AV. EMS (Eset Mobile Security) You can grab it from the market, currently in a BETA stage but quite advance and very low footprint on any device. It's definitely on the same playing field as any awesome Antivirus/Malware prevention tool.

I used ESET for a while. I use it on my PC and my laptop, so when I saw it in the market, I got to installing it right away.
It slowed down my phone horribly and no matter what I did, I wasn't able to uninstall it (My phone was not rooted at the time). After trying everything I found on the web, I eventually got to backing up everything I had and factory reseting...
They've probably fixed that bug by now, but it was still pretty annoying...
Can anyone recommend any other Android anti-virus software? It has to be "good", obviously, but it also has to quietly run in the background, eat as little battery and memory as possible.
P.S. My device is a Galaxy ACE (currently rooted and with leaked Android 2.3.4 firmware)
On the PC I used and removed Eset. It was a real pain spending huge amounts of time removing junk deeply imbedded and left behind in the Registry. As such, I'd be hesitant to try Eset again especially on an Android device. Furthermore, I read where Eset used their own secret vpn to bypass any local firewall to get updates, without telling the user.
I am skeptical of reviews by AV publishers like McAfee, Kaspersky, etc. warning of "the coming horrible tsunami of Android malware."
If anyone comes across a detailed Android AV review, please post the link.
no warez discussion allowed.
I see, no one was actually advertising/ requesting or posting warez, so there will be no consequences.
but since this is not an issue for anybody, not using warez in the first place, this thread is closed. if you got yourself a virus this way, there are enough tips to get rid of it, but it is your own fault.
also, i edited all the posts containing the name of the warez distributer.

[Q] Samsung Movies help please

Hi All
I wonder if you could be of some help.
When I purchase my note I was given voucher codes which included Samsung movies.
I wouldn't normally purchase DRM protected files from anywhere but as they were 'free' I thought I may as well.
Now, to play them on the note you have to first play them on the PC to get the usage rights. My problem is that WMPlayer tells me that the WMV DRM component encountered a problem and won't play the file.
I have uninstalled WMplayer 11 and reinstalled, reset my DRM library and made sure all the correct settings are checked in the WMplayer 'privacy' tab, all to no avail.
Has anyone else encountered this or is it just my PC?
Thanks for any help
After one single DRM-protection purchase of a song on Nokia store years ago, I quickly decided honesty isn't worth all that hassle. Really, go to a torrent site.

Seriously? I got a voucher code too (from the "exclusives" tab in the Samsung Hub). Was then asked to download Samsung Movies which I did. Then needed to register. When I do so it takes my details (including email address and a password, but without asking me to choose a username). It says "account created" - but it doesn't then send me any email etc. and trying to login using email address or surname as the username fails.
I was going to email the 3rd party who runs the site to complain but given your feedback I don't think I'll bother, Viamonte's solution is soooo much easier (and from the look of the movie selection, I've already torrented all of the content they host which would have interested me anyway
Thanks for your replies guys...
I usually get my films from 'other' sources too but thought i'd use the voucher as it was free. There were a couple of older films which interested me, from the 30's, 40's and 50's.
@ -pigro- I had to email them too to get them to enable the code at their end! seriously, I wouldn't bother if I were you.
Anyway, I'll download the movies from other sources now as I've 'paid' for them ...
Thanks both anyway.

Alternatives to Google Play Store

I'd like to try setting up my N9005 without Play Store and Google Play Services. Part of the reason is the battery use by Google Apps of various types and the other is the necessity of allowing those apps access to dial the phone, send SMS etc.
I'd like to see if I can make my phone more efficient AND more secure.
So far I'm looking at getjar.com, androidtapp.com and appbrain.com. Which app sites do you use and is it reasonable to find one that provides apps that don't use Google Play functions?
Suggestions welcome and experiences on any alternative sites would be appreciated? Also opinions or experiences in getting rid of the google connection...
I'm currently running @temasek 's cm13 - v 3.5 (more properly @joshndroid 's cm13 now he is building it )
I tried once

I once tried to use my Nexus 7 without Gapps. and then my Livescore app said it needed GPServices. again a shopping app said it needed GPS to run. then I installed Gapps :|
So we're stuck with Google unless we reduce functionality way down?
Hm... I recall seeing a CM Apps option a while back and I am running AOSP on my N9005 - will have a look for it. Thanks for the Reply.

the best thing would be installing Pico or Nano version of GApps. Only Play store, Play Services and Contact Sync come with it.

While that sounds good, those are pretty much exactly the apps that crash the phone if you try to interfere with call/SMS permissions. What I am trying to find out is if it is possible to have a functional and useful phone WITHOUT having Google privy to everything I do.
Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they're not after me.
You may or may not be interested in this talk by Snowden - think it's about halfway through where he discusses how the various companies have peeled away security for the alphabet agencies.

It's possible, but it'll depend on your definition of "functional".
I run my phone without gapps, and have calendar and contacts sync with my own server. I use syncthing for file sync, and open source for almost everything (Skype being one exception).
So for me it's fully functional, and the battery life is great. YMMV.

Without GApps where do you get your apps? I've been touring sites trying to find a decent one and also discovering apps to replace those with Google links. The issue currently seems to be many good apps still tie back into Play for updates or verification purposes.
For example I have SPenCommand from a Google+ site but updates can usually be manual - i.e. I could DL them on PC and copy them over. The problem would be needing to have a link to the site (I think) to licence check. But that's something I can ask the Dev about.
That sounds pretty close to what I need. Phone, Contacts, Calendar, preferably syncing to Outlook on PC but given I am also thinking of moving to Linux, not wedded to Outlook or MS Products, nor I guess even to live syncing. I WOULD like to have backups in case phone goes away suddenly, but I can learn to use Cloud - something I have been avoiding.
I like playing with ROMs and have just started a course in App development online - my thought was to set up a dual boot with a standard GApps setup for testing as well as an unlinked one for daily driver.
Been looking at Aptoide as a store that maybe i can use without a Google account. Seems to have quite a few categories of apps so i am currently trying to work out what I need versus what I want on my phone. I currently have quite a few apps that i haven't touched in months so I figure they are probably not needed.
Any suggestions on what you consider a must have app or app category?
One possible alternative to play store is Blackmarket. It works great and it has almost all the apps present in the play store. And its best feature is that it provides paid apps for free

Oops sorry i forgot about that. My bad. I will remember it now.
Hi.
I'm testing now the following approach.
With Titanium Backup I froze Google Play (not for Google Play Services because I'm testing) and use Aptoide and Uptodown apps to updating.
My issue is Google Play is ALWAYS changing its configs which I've set to "not update automatically" and lots of warnings on screen telling me Google Play or Play Services stopped working.
Also I'm testing whether other apps also stop working.
Aptoide and Uptodown apps obey much better and don't change its configs.
Am I right that all these stuff are related to Google Play, soon I'll be able to return here with a more affirmative answer.

nvm, it was because my Pandora app did not have permission to store to the storage, once i allowed permission it works fine now.
