Change PAP to CHAP and vs in GPRS connection authentication

Hi all,
In Pocket PC , it allows u to switch between PAP or CHAP authentication in GPRS connection setting. This option help solve GPRS connection problem at some provider.
Sadly, I can not find any setting like that when using smartphone with 2005 Windows OS (ronswen 4.1). Anyone know how to access to this setting please help me. I can not access GPRS any more since switching from Mpx220 to XphoneIIm, and I tried all possibilities but no help, some one hint that need PAP authentication (because CHAP auth. seems default setting)
Thank you 4 yr attention

How can I set up a connection with socks5 proxy?

In setting->connection->connection,I can only find the place to set up
variety of proxies of different type(sock4,sock5,http,wap ).But how can I
set up a connection that only with a socksv5 proxy?(without http)Or is this
type of connection unrealisable ?
When I click advance setting and set up the socks proxy setting and
leave other proxy settings blank, the input box under "Use proxy to connect
to internet" has been greyed out and made blank,seems the proxy has been disabled ?
Anyone can help me ?

GPRS settings: APN authentication type

Hi all,
I have an HTC Dream branded TIM, which I can use for internet access with the APN settings provided by my operator.
I could also use a different APN which requires username/password authentication but up to know I was not able to use it with my phone.
(Yes, I am already aware of the usage of the "APN type" field in order to instruct the phone which APN profile to use )
I suspect it is an authentication-related issue because in the APN configuration of the DREAM I cannot define any configuration related to the authentication method (PAP, CHAP, etc.).
My phone is rooted (JF1.5): can you hint me to understand:
1) which log I can read in order to check why I cannot get the connection with the APN
2) which shell command I can use to try to verify the networking configuration binded with the APN: IP address, DHCP, DNS, ...
3) how I can set the authentication used when connecting to the APN
Thanks for your help, experts!

I would check these APN setting from your telco, but I had problems initially , I had to reboot phone or toggle Airport mode to get it working.
Also check your network type is set to auto GSM/WCDMA etc..
Well I use these settings on other mobiles and they work just fine. Also the network mode is set to auto.
What type did U use in settings of APN profile?
ah got it to work, what havent i tried! rooted, debranded, upgraded, and finally found some settings using this
* Open dialer.
* Dial *#*#4636#*#* to open “Testing” screen.
* Tap on Phone Information.
* Press the Menu key or button.
* Tap on More.
* Tap on Disable data connection to disconnect and make inactive any data connection immediately.
Tap on Disable data on boot to disable data connection on next boot up.
Note: Both options can be selected concurrently.

Must be one of these toggles widgets which you forgot to re-enable before uninstalling it.

Authentication type bug detected in TF101G

Hi all.
I have detected a bug in authentication type option when configuring a new APN for 3G connection.
In my company, mobile devices connect via 3G connection to corporate network resources. The authentication is provided by our corporate RADIUS server. For reasons not related to this issue, the RADIUS server only provides PAP authentication.
So I have set in TF101G's APN configuration username and password and entered PAP authentication type, but I cannot access to my network resources behind APN.
I have obtained some log and sniffer traces from our corporate RADIUS server where I can observe that TF101G always tries to authenticate using CHAP. So that's the reason why authentication fails.
I've also tested it with samsung smartphones and tablets and it works Ok!!
So I would be pleased if you could verify this same behavior in TF101G. But you would need to obtain sniffer traces from authentication process to verify.
Please, could you confirm this behavior?
Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Ernesto.
sometimes my lips get CHAPPED
Don't worry about that. Wikipedia is up again:

Best regards,
Ernesto.
