I am using Xolo q700i [only rooted, Stock ROM]
Since yesterday, I am facing a very strange problem. My Orientation Sensor and Accelerometer are not working. That means AutoRotation goes for a toss and not to forget any game.
I found that I could salvage the problem by using Android Sensor Box, then opening up the Orientation Sensor, then going back and opening up the Accelerometer. This somehow solves the problem, but it's just a temporary solution.
The Orientation Sensor and Accelerometer goes for a toss again after few minutes - 20-30 mins is what I've observed.
I have tried factory reset, but the problem persists.
Anyone can suggest any reason and any remedy?

Try to Flash Custom Rom or Flash Q700i rom via SP flash tool.....if You have already on that rom flash it again flash tool......if u face the problem again then its hardware issue contact service center (unroot your phone)..
Dude this problem persists a lot on the stock rom(mite be a bug)... nothin to do with Root... Check with a custom rom that worked for me!!!!!

[Case history]
I've been using CM11 for quite a while and one day I messed up. I installed a Kernel that wasn't compatible with CM11 and I couldn't boot the phone. So I used ADB to push a CM11 ROM and flashed it using TWRP and it was fine...until...
I found that all my sensors were not working....well not all, but 'all'. Please let me explain.
I noticed that Rotation doesn't work anymore; I noticed that Auto Brightness would not work anymore; I also notice Accelometer wouldn't work.
So I downloaded the app 'Phone Tester', and I went to the 'Sensor' section and there was nothing detected there! No sensors at all.
However, I have this cover for my phone and when I cover the phone the screen will go out --> I assumed that means the proximity sensor works? I also noticed that the screen will blackout when I am on a phone call.
[My question]
I searched a bit and had two speculations.
1.) Baseband/Modem problem? --> I tried flashing the KK Modem for D802 and it didn't fix the problem
2.) Kernel problem? --> I think this is quite possible...but didn't flashing the ROM = flashing in a Kernel?
Any help is appreciated!
If I were you I would flash it back to stock and see if they work then

it is a baseband issue, as you know cm has not incorporated the lg kk changes which means that the kk baseband would not work you have to flash the d802 jb baseband and you will get sensors working again

Thanks! I flashed the JB Baseband and it actually worked!
I have installed cyagenmode 12.1 , everything according to instructions that I have found on their topic, and everything is working well except when someone calls me ( or I call someone ) phone screen goes black and I can't do anything. I think it has to do something with proximity sensor working correctly becouse it doesn't happen on stock rom.
Is there any solution for this ? I have tried recalibrating but without luck. If it can't be fixed I will have to change to some else rom but I realy like this one
p.s. mobile phone is samsung galaxy s5
Maybe it's because you installed cyagenmode instead of cyanogenmod, try installing the proper ROM first. Also, proximity sensors have nothing to do with phone calls.

I tried different nightlies , even the latest one , but problem is still there. my baseband version is DDUHOA1
Does the modem have any role in this issue? Or is it a hardware issue ?
The proximity sensor works fine on stock rom or any other roms that i have installed so far, including cm based other roms like GearCM ,Euphoria. But on official cm 12.1 the issue pops up..

this is due to proximity sensor happens to me all the time if u have xposed installed then download sensor disabler in xposed download section that will stop black screen on calls hope that helps u

I installed Xposed . and then Sensor Disabler. Turned off Proximity sensor as you said
but no luck . The issue is still there.
Hi guys , i have a Samsung Galaxy S4 VE (i9515) and recently i flashed CM 13 . Was worked fine but after 3 days i got problema with sensors for example gyroscope is f****d up and i mean when i activate the automatic rotation screen going crazy if i tilt in left screen moving to right , if i make a photo the photo appears vertical and when i call screen staying on. I tried change to stock but same problem , i tried also change to 5.1 cm same problem , i changed the sensors and installed Stock Rom and i got same problem. Now i have cm 13 latest build and same.. Any1 who had this problem help me please ! Thanks !

Tried,doesn't work.
After fair usage of the nexus 6p the screen goes black.. I have concluded it's the proximity sensor which is broken after the nougat update or maybe hardware issue.. Is there anyway I could disable it? It has stock recovery and rom.. Should I flash twrp and a custom rom to disable it or just rootin will do? Please help with a solution guys
