Help!! 4G LTE problems... - General AOKP Discussion

So recently (this afternoon) I got an lg g2 that came rooted. I quickly flashed CM 11 and started using it only to realize that I wasn't getting lte. I called ATT to get a bigger plan for lte coverage and the gave it to me. They told me to restart my phone and test the internet. I rebooted it and texted it but had no luck and I was getting no WiFi. After a while of troubleshooting w/ ATT the person gave up and opened a technician case. After the call I checked my APNs and noticed it was default on ATT LTE. I changed it to ATT PHONE and restarted the phone, and this gave me HSPA+ but no higher. I've tryed many things and just can't seem to get any LTE or even HSPA when I use the default ATT LTE APN. Somebody please help me get some 4g lte going!! Thanks so much and sorry for being a noob of this site!

This forum is for AOKP not CM.

Oh I'm very sorry I was an idiot and thought cm was based off akop (no sarcasm intended)...can you direct me to a cm 11 forum? It would be even better if it was on XDA

If your phone is not an AT&T branded phone, you will not get LTE. You must add a munged IMEI with an AT&T factory code or copy the IMEI of an in store phone and add that to your account. Then use your phone as normal. This has nothing to do with CM or AOKP.

only getting EDGE

put in sim from ATT N1 where I was getting full 3G (CM has it as H), and now, with same sim, I only get EDGE in Atrix. New sim they included gives me nothing... just a strikethrough the data icon area.
What gives?

Maybe you dont have HSPA+ in your area? Only guessing, btw.
Att is having many issues with the atrix and inspire. They're working on these issues now.

Wrong. Any 3g ATT sim card will work, there is no technical differences. The only time moving forward you will need a newer simcard is for when LTE (real "4g") launches.

you have to have 4G sim card and also your account must be provisioned in the system with a new 4G feature code.

So do I and I can also confirm that was what I read on an internal training presentation on the new 4G phones, including the Atrix.

you must be getting a symbol with H+ and that is all.
for actual speed use new 4G SIM and get provisioned with new feature code by calling customer care or going in to the store.
Spent 85 minutes on the phone with tier 2 support. They have no idea what's going on. We tried old sum and new... no luck. We changed options in *#*#4636#*#* with no luck. We reset to factory default with no luck.
Its stuck on EDGE. My account is provisioned for this phone with the correct data plan and its simply not working. They want me to go to a corporate store tomorrow and swap for another.
Any other ideas short of a swap?

no one is getting HSPA+, it's being backhauled until March. I don't know why it says we have H+ in the status bar though
backhaul isn't just going to magically happen when march hits, it will happen as soon as the backhaul hits the site and is up and running, which is a never ending thing that has been going on for the past year or so.
EDIT: Oh and to the OP, more than likely something is wrong with the phone if other phones pick up 3g just fine.
But the best thing is, the ATRIX an the INSPIRE 4G will not be getting LTE HAHAHA AT&T FTW

Evo 4G On Straight Talk

I have successfully flashed the Evo 4G to Straight Talk.
The only issue I ran into was MMS. I had to use a different program to be able to use the MMS on the evo.
I have internet working on it at 3G speeds. I it way faster then Sprint or Boosts internet.
The network is super smooth.
If you are wondering how to flash the Evo over to Straight Talk please let me know.
###########################
Use APN Backup & Restore to backup, erase, then put these apns in the folder, and then restore them. Reboot and your MMS will work. Tested on HTC Androids Only.
Let me if you tested them on another phone.

i thought straight talk was on tmobile which uses completely different frequencies than Sprint and requires a SIM card which the Evo doesn't support?
Yeah.. thats what I thought also, so not sure how it would be possible. He never replied back to my PM.

I've had my Evo 4G flashed to Straight Talk since November 2011, but I can't get anymore to stick on the network. When I flash any HTC now it always says "unable to authenticate", but the internet works. I have the same problem with Verizon prepaid, so my question is does anybody know the solution to get HTC's to stay on the network?

what do you mean by flashed, are you spoofing the ESN of your evo to that of a Straight-talk supported phone? and that is not working?
I was not aware that straight talk supports CDMA phones...
You will need a donor phone from straight talk first. Buy a Samsung or LG cdma from straight talk first. Then let me know once you have that.
You will need to activate it.
Then you will need to copy NV Items 464-465 and 1192-1194
Copy the PRL
Copy the NAM and evdo settings

[Solved] AT&T Sim Unlock

Hello, I was curious about something when it comes to doing a SIM unlock. I did some research and found that there are different ways to do sim unlocks depending on what type of phone you have (of course). In my case I'm running a GPE edition ROM on a i337. Would I use the i337 way or the GPE way? Or...would I have to flash a factory ROM to do it? Found a ton of troubleshooting for unlocking but never saw anything about using different ROMs. Thanks for your help!
I actually used this method. Read it carefully before attempting. I recommend printing it so you can have it to refer to. The *#0011# code is the one that I used. Remember that when instructed to hit the 'back' key, that doesn't mean on your device. It refers to the 'back' button you will see when you press your phone's menu button.

Just ask at&t for the code. That service menu can cause trouble in the long run. Plus theres no known method of returning settings to stock.

Sometimes they will come times not. Never hurts to ask. And if the first try didn't work give them a call on another day. Sometimes it depends on who you get a hold of.

This doesn't apply to Apple products (not that you have one, but I thought it's good to know)
So I got the unlock codes from AT&T a few moments ago..and I'm a little unsure how to enter them into the phone..i thought you type it in the dialer but that didn't work. I just read that you need to insert a sim from another carrier...lol my intention was to sell an unlocked s4 so I could buy a different one. Some back info first... I had most of the high end AT&T androids and the iphone 5 in the past year. I tried numerous times to get unlock codes from customer service. Unlocked phones just have better resell value. Nothing works cause still under contract.
I currently have 3 smartphones with data share. $250/month is killing me. So recently traded my iPhone 5 for a S4. I didn't activate it on my line. I was looking towards the prepaid especially with Straight talk having ATT lte now and the nationwide release of Aio Wireless but T-Mobile $30 plan (100 min unlimited text and unlimited data up to 5gigs) is what I really wanted. This made me want to unlock the S4 since I live in a refarmed area. I can live with Hspa for $30.
I read on numerous forums that ppl may get a better chance of unlocking their device thru ATT international online chat. I tried so many times but they were always busy. Got lucky, finally spoke to a someone online. Gave them my ATT account info and etc. Was thinking I never got them to give me the codes before. This was just another time they would deny me. Another thing this s4 isn't even activated on my account. Gave them the imei, few minutes later I got directions and the unlock code for it. So damn excited but that's not the best part.
There's also an "Aws T-Mobile mod" for our ATT S4 to enable the Aws bands on the att s4. I'm like this is perfect. I can use the refarmed spectrum and the other hspa+ bands on the s4 and pay only $30/month. This is a no Brainer. Unfortunately. Couldn't get the Aws mod to work because you need a PC and I have a mac.
Took one of my old reg tmobile sim, using a sim template, I cut down the sim to a micro sim. Did the unlock procedure and it worked. Went to best buy to buy a tmobile prepaid kit and activated it with the $30 plan (only available to new activations). I'm thinking the 1900mHz refarmed band is reg but my phone showed 4g and was confused but I was getting 4-6mb down. Definitely could live with this. This is where I live. Driving to work, it showed full bars 4g lte. Got excited so I did a speed test. The highest I got was 12mb. I also looked it up just as I got home and one forum confirmed the same thing. Unlocked AT&T S4 works on T-Mobile Lte.

If you mean h+ speeds then yes. If you mean lte then no. Doesn't have to be SIM unlocked because all of their lte devices are. But it works better with a complete stock Rom.

Galaxy S5 Sprint Spark kills data + voice calls at the same time!

SEE POST 30 TO CHANGE YOUR PRIORITY BAND COVERAGE!
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...ark-4g-network-problems-phone-calls/index.htm
I asked the store rep if Sprint is working on a fix, but we all know the Sprint reps are usually useless answering these questions (by this I mean at the store they are only trying to make a sell). Her answer was that Sprint is working on a fix that will fix all phones with an OTA. My next question was is this a hardware or software problem which she responded that it is a tower problem. I looked online for an answer but all I could find is that Sprint responded with a weird kinda lame answer that didn't really say if they are working on a fix or not. On Sprint's Forum a rep says they are, but they say a lot of things on the forum that aren't correct also. This seems to be a very frustrating situation actually.
Does it matter to you?
It does to me, but at the same time it isn't a function I use all the time. My only reason that it has helped me, is that it has greatly helped me with work a few or more times.
I am kinda forced to buy a new phone for framily / billing reasons... huge bill without it. I am sorta thinking that I will upgrade the phone but at the same time keep my S4 handy in case I hate the S5. I went to the store today and I have to say it actually surprised me with it's new version of Touchwiz- even though I usually hate Touchwiz.
The only real reason I can see me upgrading is the camera and battery algorithms for power saving.
I call crap!
I've had none of these issues personally, and you can just turn off Spark.
I spoke with sprint today and they said it would be fixed when spark opens up nation wide.

Spark is crap!!!
The reason you can only use one at a time is the triband antenna in the phone it can only use one signal at a time. It may be fixed once sprint starts using voice over LTE. Plus spark is just a unborn baby right now, not even full deployed. The sprint map says spark coverage is in certain areas on the sprint coverage map on the website. This is not true, the sprak network is 2.5Ghz radio head on the the already existing towers(have not be built or not on-air yet). According to sprint Alcatel-Lucent and Samsung towers are the only companies that are contracted to work on spark networks. Ericsson is looking like they will not be apart of the upgrade. This means there will be 1/3 of the sprint market that will not have spark. Sprint has the the companies split by markets and only two of them have contracts to build in their area.
Here is an article that will cover a good about of that info.

NSN will be the contractor for the Areas served by Ericsson for NV 1.0. The reason you can not get SVLTE is because they do not have multiple pathways for 1x and LTE. Here it talks about it. The S5 was not the first phone to have this happen, All tri-Band Phones will most likely be without SVLTE from now on.
S4gru has a few pages explaining it better.

Now that Sprint has wifi calling it seems like it would be easy to use the same service over LTE. Then 1X voice wouldn't be needed and you could use data+voice simultaneously.

Having sprint spark doesn't mean your going to have best speeds unless your connected to band 41 or band 26 which is the newest bands. With those speeds you have there i wouldn't be surprise if your connected to band 25 which is the 1900mhz which yea its loaded with majority of sprint customers which is going to give you real slow speeds.
Here some speed test on band 41 i took yesterday morning when i was heading to go play some basketball.
