you can download from the mirror here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643109
(if you find samfirmware is slow).
If you only flash original firmware, it won't trigger KNOX. region doesn't matter. just pick up the latest one, and don't forget to tick "upgrade bootloader" when you are flashing with ODIN PC. Otherwise, ..... mmm... better not think if you never tick it.

Do you have any real reason to upgrade, other than "to have the latest android version, because THEY say it's better" ?
Maybe this thread will show you the pain in the *** that kitkat is on Note 3:

And also, here, the end of that story:

Maybe you'll think again about upgrading (just my humble opinion).
Good luck,

[Q] Change EU version to DBT version with Odin

Dear all,
we have the problem, that we are not able to change a Note 3 free EU version (for example from poland XEO) to a DBT version.
After starting the flashing process everything will stop after short time and Odin shows fail.
Do you have a solution for that?
Many thanks in advance,
Markus
Q&A no? reported!
The answer is simple: Don't flash other region firmwares on your Note 3. Simple

Which Odin-version did you use? For the latest phones, you'll have to use v3.09
Have a look at SamMobile:
Odin 3.09 https://hotfile.com/dl/248246506/848df76/Odin3_v3.09.zip.html
DBT-firmware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=20383
After this, clear the cache and factory reset via POWER-HOME-VOL UP
Then the CSC should be changed to DBT
It was checked with different Odin versions, 3.09, 3.07 etc.
I have tested it with the BTU und DBT version now and both brick after few seconds.
The recovery of the XEO version works fine with odin.
I give up for today!
Nothing? Reallly no solution for that problem? ;-(
I never thought about putting a different region FW on any of my phones. What would be the advantage of doing so, despite than screwing up some bands so that the phone doesn't work properly anymore?
The advantage is that updates will come earlier, different functions between different FWs etc.

Have you tried to root it? Maybe DBT is yet on your device and with an app like CSC select you will be able to do what you want (be carefully as it is the best way to avoid your knoks warranty)
I don't want to root!
You can build your own tar without the bootloader. I think that it is the only way
How?

[Q] Flashing to different region firmware

Hi everyone
I've recently switched from the iCraps to a Galaxy Note 3 international version so I'm still really new at all this and trying to read up and learn what all the terminology means.
I want to flash my note 3 to another region's firmware. I've been reading all the forum posts and i'm getting conflicting information.
Im currently on AP: n900XXUBMI7, CP: n9005XXUBMI6, CSC: n9005XSABMI1
I just have a few questions:
1) I want to flash the UK firmware however i want the option to go back to the Australian firmware in the future without tripping knox. Which firmware is the best to use? I've been reading that updating to MJ3 wont allow u to downgrade or root the device without tripping knox
2) What does MJ6, MJ3, MI7 refer to? Is it the AP?
3) How do I go about flashing the firmware?
3)Can anyone link me to any good guides or webpages that will explain everything (like what AP and CSC mean and their significance?)
If you could point me to any other information that I should/need to know abouting flashing to other region's firmware that would be greatly appreciated. As I said I'm very knew to android, it's much more difficult to get ur head around compared to the iCraps
Hi,
I used this firmware BTU-N9005XXUDMJ7. If you do a Google search you should come up with it (That's what I did). I cam from the stock Virgin Australia rom (Which is really an Optus one).
Root first using the Universal Root de la Vega v0.2 method.
Purchase Mobil Odin Pro app from Google Play
When flashing I did not flash the modems, apparently this helps with downgrading to the stock Australian firmware is required (I am not sure if this is true as I have not tried it).
I've had no issues with it and flashed with mobile Odin twice using the same firmware as I have been experimenting with the Sony media apps to try and get everything working. Read the mobile Odin thread to get the lowdown on how to use it. To not flash the modems you select each section individually (you'll see what I mean in the app).
I only did this last night but haven't had any issues so far (other than me playing around with the system files and stuffing up).

[Q] Can I upgrade to 4.4?

So when I first got my note I imediately used this guide to flash kitkat and completely ****ed it up, it just stuck on the Samsung n9005 screen.
This was a link to C4ETech's video called "Galaxy Note 3 - Samsung Official Kitkat 4.4.2 - How to Flash/Install" but I had to remove it.
I assumed it was something to do with the CSC code (mine being BTU) so I installed a BTU rom using this guide.
This was a link to TheSmokingAndroid's video called "HOW TO UNBRICK & UNROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3" but I had to remove it.
Now I want to install a kitkat rom preferably a stock one but there isn't one for BTU. So I looked at the custom roms as some support BTU but require the device to be on 4.4 already. How can I get onto 4.4 if every 4.4 rom requires a 4.4 phone? Will I have to wait until an official BTU update comes out?
I've attached a screenshot of my About Phone page (which doesn't have BTU anywhere, I don't get it).
I probably have the complete wrong end of the stick so sorry for wasting everyone's time but if you have a minute to help I'd really appreciate it.

Try *#1234# might come up there. Anyways, go over to Sammobile and grab any of the latest 4.4.2 KitKat ROMs for your device (9005) as you said. And it should work fine.
Advice: Wipe your phone, not compulsory but advisable. Cheers!
I have a canadian variant note 3 900w8 and i want to flash 4.4.2 as well but i was hoping to flash the t-mobile version as i have heard of issues with the 9005 rom compatibility, just wondering if anyone has had experience yet, or if it has been done.

Thanks for your help but I've already done that and the newest version I can get is 4.3 I'll just wait until my phone gets the update, Thanks anyway
I've managed to get onto 4.4 now by flashing a polish ROM after reading that they support BTU, I don't know how to delete this thread so I'm just letting everyone know my issue is resolved

If you want the ability to flash back to 4.3 from 4.4, install custom recovery and roms and keep your Knox 0x0, head over here and do some reading ( if you haven't been there already ).

[Q] NEWBIE - how to update ROOTED Note 3 to 4.4.2?

Hey all
this is my first post, so please bear with me. have been a long time 'silent reader' here and thanks to Chainfire and his 'region blockaway' i did my first root back in October 2013. I have an international Note 3 9005, 4.3, Build XXUBMI7. I would like to update to 4.4.2 but i'm really lost how to proceed and where to download the necessary files?
any help is greatly appreciated. i dont expect a complete step-by step guide but maybe someone can post a link?
cheers

@Claudio21CH
1 Download the firmware from sammobile.cpm
2 Pc ODin you must have used it fpr rooting.
Flash the firmware with pc odin to your phone via usb cable.
Same procesure you have used to root your phone.
Sent from Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005
thank you very much, will try and keep you posted!!
I visited sammobile and checked their firmware section. Seems for my build (N9005XXUMBI6) there is NO firmware update to 4.4.2, only for 4.3. My phone was bought in Switzerland without carrier lock. Can I just use one of the firmware where it says 'country unknown' or do I risk to brick my device? Thank you once again

What is your CSC?
Use this app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ to see what is your CSC.
Also in this app. you can enter the Menu --> select 'Firmware Browser...' to see a list of available stock firmwares for your phone, including the latest one.
Thank you very much

Nope, it is CSC version, not the actual CSC code.
I mean the 'Active CSC code' in the CSC INFO section.
Anyway you can enter the menu and select 'Firmware Browser' to check for the latest firmware by yourself.

EDIT: Ok, AUT is Switzerland and the latest firmware is N9005XXUENB4 on March 2014, Android 4.4.2
The download link for this firmware is also given in this app.

What is your KNOX state, If its still 0x0, the you would need the mobile odin pro 4.0 method to update to keep knox 0x0.
Thank you all. Finally managed to upgrade to 4.4.2 with firmware from sammobile.com but now realized that I don't have root anymore. Will use CF autoroot for 4.4.2.
Cheers

Important Notes Regarding 6.x upgrade - Please read

Hi guys this thread is regarding Updating your mobile Firmware to 6.0[especially for N9208, although is applicable for other models as well]
First, lets observe two scenarios in which you might be
CASE- 1
You are rooted
To upgrade you'll need to first download the latest firmware or atleast the same firmware as the one in which you currently are [Ex. You have APC1 you can download APC1 or higher(APC3) however at this point you cannot install any firmware lower than what you already have (Ex.AOK8)]
After you've downloaded the firmware compatible with your phone,I would recommend you to make a nandroid backup and then Flash it through odin
Instructions [From Sammobile]
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.10.7
Extract Odin ZIP file
Open Odin v3.10.7
Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
Now go to software updates and update to android 6.x
CASE-2
You are not rooted and have not tripped Knox
Now this case is important especially for N9208 users. To upgrade you'll have to simply wait for the firmware to be available for your device and region specifically. If you try to flash a Firmware other than your region [Ex.Taiwan that has 6.x ota] you'll not only be highly likely to trip knox but also take an attempt to downgrade your firmware (Taiwan 5.1.1 is still not APC3).
I know the instructions seem pretty straight forward and general. However I received 3 PMs regarding the above concern so I thought to share with you guys.
I'll add a few more info soon

Hi Lucas. How about flashing from APC3 straight to Taiwan MM ROM. Without downgrading to Taiwan 5.1.1 ROM. Would that trip KNOX?
Thanks in advance

No Guys you cannot flash Taiwan Rom into different region phones. They have different bootloaders and would simply fail to work. You'll end up with knox tripped devices with the same firmware as you had. Don't try it!

+1
Happened to me already
But Samsung seem to have fixed the Deep Sleep issue with MM.
Does this mean that following this CASE-1 will not trip the power drain issue for previously rooted device?
Hi there ! Will it restore or clear data if we update as mention above ?
