Don't get me wrong. I'm looking for the leaked 4.4.2 firmware for note2 which can be flashed through Odin. I don't want to flash through a custom recovery. I mean the .tar.md5 file. Thanks.

Yeah international i9505. I know it's not simlocked, but I'm used to Nexus devices where you need to unlock the bootloader 1st (the same with Asus Transformer tabs) before one do anything.
So... I need to be rooted first before I can flash a custom recovery?
Yep you dhont need ulcoking bootloader just go t android devolpment and djembay thread you will find odin end rooted stock rom

All you have to do is flash Phiz recovery via PC Odin to give you a custom recovery. Here's the tar
However if you own Mobile Odin PRO, and since you say you are rooted, you can flash the .tar through Mobile Odin PRO. [just make sure it's updated to latest version]; then select 'recovery' in the options then the .tar.md5 file.
Download Sac's latest on you PC check the md5sum and transfer to you externalSD card, boot to recovery and flash 4.3
Then follow Sac's install instructions. Especially important is the wiping procedure. rlmiller has a good writeup here.
Spend some time reading and searching through the OPs and follow-up posts and you'll do okay.
Good luck.
Did you get it up and running?

Yes I did thanks for your help

And if you wanna re odex it... DL titanium backup and hit menu then press "integrate dalvik into sys" then reboot!

[Q] I need assistance please!

I want to update my i9505 to the latest android 4.3 through Odin but I don't want the new Knox bootloader, could someone please give me any instructions of how I could achieve this? I don't want to install the "custom" stock roms.
*EDIT*: Could someone also give me instructions on how to compile the edited firmware.
I tried to Google it but to no avail.
I shall be grateful to anyone who helps.

In order to remain on your old bootloader you will need to root. Any reason why you don't want to? Root, install a custom recovery then flash the pre rooted rom. They are stock based.

Thank you for your reply, I'm rooted with custom recovery. However I wish to create myself a Odin copy for emergency purposes, I currently have the official MGA firmware update for Odin. I want to create a Odin flash-able firmware update without the new bootloader,
EDIT: After going through the thread all the firmware files include the new know bootloader ;(
As far as I know you can't flash via odin. I suggest you flash the CWM version this has no bootloader. As your already rooted using the knox free cwm version is the safest bet at the moment.

No modem, you can install that separately via Odin as we can't flash modems using CWM. It contains stock rom and stock kernel.

please help! I made a dangerous mistake. I have a problem...

hi
I made a mistake when a I wanted root S3 with CF-Root kernel, and I flashed kernel of Note2
then display became Blue. and now it's touch doesn't work.
I flashed CF root of s3 and doesn't fixed.
even I tried Flashing original Rom
but it does not worked
and I lost my touchscreen
how can I fix that
I think kernel of note2 does not allow other kernels to flash correctly
(sorry ! I can't speak english good)

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
I m not sure about this...
Maybe you can try installing new kernel via adb...
Not sure if it will work though...
If the recovery is working than wipe everything there, system, data, preload, dalvik etc.. Then go into download mode and flash a official Samsung rom, some not branded 4.1.2, btu i think is the best, after that go into recovery again wipe data and cache, and than try to reboot. If that doesn't work try flashing only kernel via adb.

I flashed a ROM
it doesn't work
If you can get it in DOWNLOAD mode. You should be able to flash a stock rom with ODIN. Then re-root, flash Custom ROM, etc.,etc.
That's the only way I have repaired other peoples botched updates and stuff. :good:
The Note 2 screen needs more power than SG3 screen, so the kernel you mistakenly flashed could have damaged the hardware itself.
Do as fbarcenas says. If it doesn't work, I think you're gonna have to replace the screen unit. Try everything else first, of course, and good luck !

I remember that something similar to what you did happened because of a mistake from the developer and Codeworx and others tried to help and solve the issue, but I didn't follow that story until the end, so cannot tell you if they succeeded.
Try to use some Rescue Roms the ones with the pit files. Tough problem mate sorry?

ive seen a similar issue...and im enclined to agree with regaber
u may want to consider getting a new screen...
If you have flashed a stock rom, that will have replaced all files, including the kernel, therefore if it's still not working something has caused hardware damage (the only option after flashing stock and wiping everything.

[Q] Flashing Stock Rom by SafeStrap

Hello
I have a problem with flashing new stock rom "G900FXXU1BNL9_G900FXEO1BNL1_XEO" by SafeStrap on my at&t s5. I downloaded rom from sammobile it is a zip file but when i try to install it by SafeStrap i have a error
"NO MD5 FILE FOUND".
After unpacked zip file with rom, there is one file "G900FXXU1BNL9_G900FXEO1BNL1_G900FXXU1BNL9_HOME.ta r.md5".
Someone know how can i flash this stock rom? or How can i convert this file to flashable by SafeStrap zip rom?
If it is bad forum section please move it, no remove.
Thags not safestrap flashable, and its also for the g900f, att is g900a wich has a locked bootloader, so even if you flashed it properly(through odin) it wouldnt work.
Sent from my SM-G900A using Tapatalk
I know that it is for g900f but with safestrap make specialy for at&t s5 most of roms from g900f and another models should work normally in my g900a.
Any sugestion how can i do this ?

Im sure that it will be work...devices is the same... only software is another and lock bootloader in at&t. I can flash any another flashable zip from this forum and problem is that i cant search zip version of this rom.
I have one suggestion haw can i do this...
I read somewhere that from recovery of system it is possible to do flashable zip. Maybe somebode have s5 without lock bootloader and can flash this rom via odin and make zip for me?
Or maybe another way?
Thanks
Wysłane z mojego SAMSUNG-SM-G900A
No one has an att variant without a locked bootloader, they are all locked. Where did you get these other flashable zips? If it was for the att s5 android development, those werw made to be flashed in safestrap, I think ankther variant's roms can be flashed but im not sure how it all works and its not the g900f. Either way, from the g900f or not, like i said earlier im pretty sure you have to flash in odin, safestrap cant flash firmwares, and even if it could, this firmware is for the g900f like ive also said(its the lolipop firmware, no?) and so you cannot flash it because the locked bootloader prevents it.
Sent from my SM-G900A using Tapatalk
I flash via SafeSrap rom called "Omega" from this forum and rom CyanogenMod 11...it was working normally and they are for g900f and works fine in my g900a.
Yes this is lolipop...via odin i cant flash because i have locked bootloader...only via SafeStrap and flashable zips.

I dont understand how thats possible, everyone thats tried that has just gottena soft brick, and for a reason, locked bootloader limits us to touchwiz based roms, and CM11 is AOSP based, so theres no way it would work, are you aure youre using an att variant?

Im thinking you did something that made you think you flashed it and it worked, because it is not possible for it to work, theres no "i dont know how it worked" it literally cant. As has been said in the other thread you started, you can flash stock roms from other variants as long as its tohchwiz based and is 4.4.2, you cant flash lolipop because that is 5.0, and you cant do firmware updates through safestrap. So the answer to your question is no, you cannot get lollipop on your device as of now.
