Clockworkmod Recovery folder reappearing even though I don't use it - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have TWRP installed but when looking through what's taking space on my phone via DiskUsage, it says there is a clockworkmod backup folder that's taking up 2.4GB of space. No matter how many times I delete it, it reappears again for no reason.
This is what I mean:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I delete it, the "Freespace" section boosts up to 3+GB. Is there any way to get rid of this? I think I did something wrong when installing recoveries (I had clockworkmod installed at first but promptly replaced it with TWRP)

I couldn't delete the folder so I went into the folder itself and deleted the files individually. Is there a way to completely delete that folder? Using DiskUsage and the Root Browser on Rom Toolbox Pro doesn't seem to delete it. I don't even use Clockworkmod anymore hmm

If you're rooted you should be able to delete it. See if you can change its permissions to read/write. Just delete the clockworkmod folder and subfolders. Don't try to delete /mnt/shell/emulated

That was odd. It didn't work (even if im rooted or changed the permissions) but when moving it to the sdcard partition, it deleted it from there it was successful. Now, its gone and its contents are gone so I have an extra 2.4gb to use on my phone now. Thank you for the help! It's been like this for months.

Rooted My Nexus 7 but cant change system files..

I'm quite new to the whole android scene .. Got a Nexus 7 couple of days ago rooted it using the tool kit:
Its now unlocked and has SuperUser installed.
However I want access to files in the system/media which I can get via Android Commander but it's saying Im not Rooted ( Meaning I cannot swap or replace any stock files on the device)
Any ideas?
Try using Root explorer or ES File explorer (enable root access in settings). Did you get a popup from SuperUser asking to grant/deny root access?

Ill try ES now.. and Yes SuperUser does notify me for request which I grant.
Root explorer lets you remount the filesystem you are in like below

So for instance now I have enabled Root access in ES explorer How can I swap files from the tablet to the PC?
Normally, you will have placed the file(s) from the PC you want to use on the SDcard first, then you can use the file manager to access where you want, move/copy etc...
Would suggest you have a decent backup (or nandroid backup) first and if you are replacing system files, it is always a good idea to have a copy of the original so you can put it back if needed.

Well I may have found the other stored Image files for the boot, but I cant move them .. meaning i still dont have root access? I don't know it's making me rage.

I could not find mine either.
Some people said its in media > data > clockworkmod
What i did was go back to recovery, select back up options and then chose delete.
That deleted them manually.
You should try that.

Thanks guys, the only way I managed to do so is from the Recovery itself under Delete options, nothing found in my file manager, or even a root explorer

Loosing storage capacity..anyone have an explanation?

Can anyone figure where the missing 2GB or so is gone? Tried pushing files from PC but it failed and the files don't show up but the missing 2GB is about the size of the pushed files that are nowhere to be found...
P.S. tried to push the same files to my Nexus 7 2013 and have the same problem there...anyone know how I could find and delete these files without resetting my device (I've already tried the search function on ES File Explorer and the same storage discrepancy can also be observed from the storage tab in android settings).

Easiest way is just to flash the factory images and reset the partition

12.92gb total, thats what its supposed to be. you dont get a full 15gb to use, some goes to the system. if thats what youre talking about.
or, you are talking about the 2.43gb in the android folder?

that's not the point, the point is there isn't 4.97GB of data there. It should be 3GB at most...and pretty sure it used to be before I tried to unsuccessful push file to the devices.
BTW I was using wugfresh's toolkit when I tried to push the files if that is of importance

did you ever make a nandroid backup in your recovery?
and yea, dont use toolkits. you think they make things easier, but they dont. plus they can cause their own issues too.

[Q] Recovery Photos after System Wipe in Stock Recovery

Hi,
I'm very desperate and I know I should've backed up everything but now I'm in a situation where I'm wondering if there's any way to mount the block and recover my photos. Please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
I'm on stock Lollipop with root.
Thanks in advance.
I've tried this but I can't tell what I'm doing wrong; I know I'm getting warmer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705

I got pretty far but still aren't able to recovery anything from DCIM. Is that separate from userdata partition? Does anyone know?
Trying new route via:
http://www.df.lth.se/~jokke/androidfilerecovery/
Well, you could try some "deleted files recovery app" from google play.
The photos might still be there somewhere. If not overwritten by some other file that needed that space.

Right now, it appears that DCIM is not on the same partition as "userdata". On my i9505G, the userdata partition is mmcblk0p28. I was able to restore other photos on the /sdcard but none of the DCIM files. I feel like these files might be stored on a different partition but unable to find any reference online. Anyone have ideas?
All I know is that the s4 uses its internal storage to emulate an sdcard.
And this causes problems with some apps, like apps2sd. Maybe it also causes your issue.

Can't delete supersu folder on internal storage

How Can I delete the supersu folder using twrp or adb? I had root then let the SuperSU app do a full unroot and the supersu folder is still there. I even flashed the stock rom and the suspersu folder is on the internal (root) storage.
Thanks in advance
update: twrp internal storage wipe didn't help
Was it systemless root? I only ask because system root places folder in /system/app or in /data/app if installed as a regular app. I never tried systemless root so not sure where that goes but would assume the same place. Wiping internal with twrp should have erased it if it's in /sdcard. Since you can see the folder can you open it?

If after a year changed there are way to remove /supersu folder please share..thanks
Edit:after few time changing twrp version to test which version could remove "supersu" folder.file inside that folder change.i think not supersu keep creating it but twrp itself.it's just my conclusion
