[MOD] GPS Quick Fix - AGPS - NTP - Global - One (M8) General

This is a minor modification to the gps configuration file based on other people's work last year. It adds some extra paramaters to the gps.conf file to enable a quick AGPS lock before actually locking to the GPS.
It helps quicken navigation and route finding, not to mention battery.
In my tests, I was in a car in morning and after a reboot, opened Google Maps. Got a lock within 1 second with error of 20 meters. Within 3 seconds, I had full lock with error of 7-10 meters.
This version is global so NTP servers being used are the generic ones.
Flash using any recovery !

Do you have a zip to flash back to stock? Or can you tell me the name of the file being modified so I can back it up? Thanks!

GPS with 2.3.5

I updated my software that Sprint pushed roughly 2 wks ago. Using the new Telanav with 2.3, I realize it's more buggy. It takes long to load, often drops gps signal, and restarts whenever I get an incoming call. Anybody having these issues?

Clear the data and cache for that app, then "uninstall the update" and then reopen it and reinstall when prompted...or freeze the app after you root and use Google Nav instead!

[ZIP]Orange UK ICS signal boost!

alcurtis93 said:
I thought i would create a new CMW flashable zip for people on orange uk moving to Custom Roms, or even those who are on generic firmware but don't have this capibilty.
It basically enables Signal boost technology (UMA) for Galaxy S devices when in low signal areas.
This CMW zip works perfectly. This zip is tried and tested on most roms
However Give me and others feedback on if this works for you on other Rom's.
Remember this is Orange Network only!
Find the zip attached.
Just flash in recovery.

Great for texting, however when I make or receive a call the signal and or app just drops leaving me with no signal. It then restarts after about a minute and goes green again. Any suggestions?

Help with getting flash to work....apk file

I searched the forum about getting Flash to work on the Nexus 10 and the thread said to go to the Nexus 7 forums and do it with the steps over there....which I think I did.
I downloaded three.apk fikes and put them on my tablet.....an Adobe Flash .apk file that ends in 152, a "Hulafied" .apk file, and a Adobe Air .apk file. I tapped the files individually and it appeared they installed properly....or at least they went through the motions of a proper install.
But when I go to some sites, I am still getting that lego looking icon which I assume are flash animations/movies.
Am I downloading the wrong files?
You just need the flash app and a browser that supports the flash plugin. You also need to enable plugin loading for that browser. Boat supports it as does the AOSP browser. Chrome does not.

I have the Boat Browser and when I look in my apps, I have the little Flash player icon. I'm still getting the little lego icon though on some sites.
You have to enable it in boat. Go to the settings in boat and then page content settings and enable flash. Exit and exit boat. Start it again and test your web page.

I'm experiencing the same problem and hope someone has a helpful solution
I've noticed the volume on the Note 3 to be the same as on the 2, however the sound seems to be much better. Especially when using an external speaker via bluetooth.
Sound is better than sgs3 but it is a lot quieter. It badly needs an amp

Viper4Android allows you to customize headphone sound and phone speaker sound separately just like a few other equalizer/sound mod apps do. It's available in the Play Store and it works wonders. The sound I got out of my old phone (S3) and my current phone (Note 3) with V4A made a huge undeniable difference.
Link to download the .apk and install from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vipercn.viper4android4x&hl=en
It has multiple types of volume boost functions along with a great equalizer and many other useful features.

When u unzip the file preferably in root expkorer there are two folders in the file go thru them one has 2 file in it one has 1 file in it. The one that has one in it is the one u need follow the folders name that that file was in and put it in the corresponding folder in system. I know it sounds confusing I will edit this in a few I was typing this and realized I deleted the zip after moving the file.

but, i do have some feedback. my new camera was in the system, but i moved it out as a user app last week. it drained battery a lot hevier than before(old cam), and the camera daemon used more battery as well. i tried figuring out how to make it use less, but couldnt figure it out. i moved it out of the system to a user app last week, and now it uses much less battery

ahh, i see. well, nice
but, i do have some feedback. my new camera was in the system, but i moved it out as a user app last week. it drained battery a lot hevier than before(old cam), and the camera daemon used more battery as well. i tried figuring out how to make it use less, but couldnt figure it out. i moved it out of the system toa user app last week, and now it uses much less battery

strange, I use the camera in system with all my rom without any problems, I have no problems of excessive consumption ... well everything works very well
This is useful for people that don't wish to rely on Google services like the play store. I myself am paranoid on a much smaller scale, but people who are into security and experience paranoia have much different setups than a typical Android user.
