[Q] Advent Tegra Note 7 wont charge with provided charger - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

Hey, so I got this tablet on around Christmas and it has been working fine since.
Last week I noticed that the device wont charge or connect to the pc using the USB charger they provided in the box.
I was thinking it was broken but the strange thing is that the tablet will charge with a crappy cheap charger just fine and the provided Tegra Note 7 cable will work fine with my HTC One X.
Anyone know how to fix this?

KF Charging Issues? Try Nexus 7 Charger

Charging issues? Try a charger from a Nexus 7.
I have a new Nexus 7, and I was happy to find that the Nexus 7 charger is able to keep my ICS Kindle Fire fully powered at 100% battery, even when screen is left on for 24+ hours at 100% brightness.
Why not just use the stock KF charger like every kernel-related thread reminds us to do? In my case, I have the KF wall mounted to control Sonos music, and the stock charger cable is not long enough to make it to the outlet (see pic below).

For anyone with charging issues with stock charger or who wants to be able to use a longer cable run, give this a try.
PS I did a search for all threads in general with "charge" or "charger" in the title, and did not see this covered.
Awesome! Wish I had a Nexus 7. I would trash my Kindle Fire.
When life gives you tech....Make use of it.
Funny, I have a nexus 7 and for me the oem charger has a very short cable.
I picked up a couple BlackBerry playbook chargers and it works great with them. 6 ft cable as well.
Via my HTC Rezound
All of my KF charging issues went away when I simply booted into recovery and charged from there. Not ideal, but it does charge at the typical stock or CM7 speed of 30% an hour and will do until the kernel issues are worked out.
There is another thread elsewhere here in the KF area talking about amperage and how other Android chargers will not charge very fast. I saw this with my Optimus V cord, have yet to test since I started charging from TWRP.

Agreed. I used a longer USB micro cable that I got on Amazon, and plugged into the Nexus 7 charger base.

Yeah the N7 cable is pretty short.

[Q] Car Charging Issues with Nexus 4

Past 2 days my Nexus 4 is not charging via Car Charger, i have original Samsung Charger, i also have USB port. i tried the USB cable i receievd with Nexus 4 from LG. No Luck, i can only charge my Nexus 4 at home.
I checked my usb lead and Samsung Car Charger to charge my Backup phone Galaxy mini, it works fine. Gaalaxy mini charges but not my Nexus 4.
I was thinking it might be an issue from CM Kernel. i recently installed CM10.1 nightly 13/3/2013 it was working fine before going custom rom. I have used every single custom roms in the past, i had no problem with charging anywhere before.
so i returned back to stock today and it is the same not charging.
I can only charge at home, but i use it alot and i need to keep it on charge in the car too.
Help pls thank you
Lower amp car chargers can't charge the Nexus4 faster than it discharges. I have a 2 Amp charger that works.
Having the screen on full brigthness while using GPS drains the phone really fast!
Does your Nexus4 not charge at all or does it charge slower than it drains?
It might be the kernel, I am using a Samsung galaxy S3 usb cable with a usb port car charger and I do not have any problems charging my N4. I am on Baked ROM and Franco kernel.
it has nothing to do with my car chager cuz it was working fine before.

i did not have any problems before using the CM
as soon as i flashed CM10.1, this problem started. i changed back to stock and still same problem
I'm also having problems with charging my Nexus 4 in the car. I have charged my N4 everyday going to work for the last 3 months. But last week it stopped working I'm also running CM 10.1 nightlies since day one if that has any importance.
The car charger works with my old Nexus One
I have bought another car charger that works(verified with N1), but doesn't charge my N4. Both chargers support 1 Ampere.
I can charge my N4 with AC-adapters
I can also charge the N4 connected to my computer using USB.
Any ideas?
bumping this. any solutions? same boat here
I have same isdue, but not all the time. I noticed my N4 stops charging with my car charger, the original charger and the wireless charger when it comes too hot. (after playing a game for example)
The only way I found to make it charges again is waiting for it to get cooler and then replug the charger. I think it might be an hardware security that stops the charge when the battery is too hot because when my N4 has a normal temperature it charges normaly evdn on my 1A car charger
BIG bump here!! My N4 stopped charging in my car randomly around when 4.3 came out....!! Any ideas what's up?!? Annoooying......!
Just in case I drive a 2010 Prius.... Worked fine since the N4 was first released.

[Q] Nexus 7 Slow Charging in Thailand... Suggestions?

My Nexus 7 (2012) is taking a long time to fully charge here in Thailand. I highly suspect that the move to Thailand is the cause because in the United States my Nexus would fully charge in 2.5 - 3 hours.
My original cable and charger broke or got worn out however I have replaced the charger with another 2A charger and use an HTC Cable to charge with.
Now, here is some information I would like to know. If I were to buy an external battery pack and kept it fully charged and recharged my tablet solely from the pack would that speed up the charge time for the tablet? Is there an issue with the HTC cable? I experimented with other micro usb cables and the only cable that seems to work in the HTC cable. I know there are proper USB 3.0 micro usb cables so maybe that is the issue?
Thanks!

I need help fixing my Nexus 7

I suspect it is most likely the micro USB or the battery as my Android won't charge anymore. I saw a video on how to fix this but I don't have the part or know where to find it. My device is a Nexus 7 ASUS. If the micro USB isn't the issue than I don't know what is wrong or why my Android won't charge anymore.

Hi, MASF123...
It might not be the Nexus 7 itself, the problem might lie at the charger end.
I had a similar problem several months ago, where my Nexus 7 either wouldn't charge at all, or it would charge erratically, and thus taking hours to fully charge up.
It turned out that the fault was a loose USB socket in the official Nexus 7 charger that originally shipped with my device.
Anyhow, I started to use a spare Amazon Kindle charger that I happened to have lying around, and my Nexus 7 has charged without problems ever since. It's rated slightly lower (1.8 amp's) than the official N7 charger (2.0 amp's), but it gets the job done.
So it might be worth trying another charger, perhaps from another device, before you start tinkering with the Nexus 7 itself.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

No that is not the case because I bought a new USB cord and power supply to make sure before I opened it up. It stopped charging even with the new charger I bought.

Battery drain and long charges, please help!

So, I recently changed the battery on my N7 (Pure Nexus ROM 6.0.1 with ParrotMod) and started to notice that battery only lasts about 3 to 5 hours, and around 2 and a half with video playback.
Also, a charge from 10% to 100% takes around 12 hours to complete and charges very little or nothing at all when the tablet is powered off.
I thought that the charger was causing the problem (I was using a Galaxy S4 mini charger) but even with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge charger (which supposedly has the same input and output as the N7 one's) I got the same results. I also read that the charging port might be misplaced, but that didn't seem to be the case either...
What's happening? HELP!
It 's probably a wrong charger. Use 10w (5v 2amp) one. Generic one can be bought at eBay for around $3. I have same setup on N7 - PN with Parrot Mod, full charge 2-3 hrs at the most

First off, use a genuine charger that comes with the device. If problem still persists, it could be the defective charging port that caused the problem. Try changing one by yourself or by having it replaced.
I have had the same problem. I bought my nexus second hand...and the guy said that the battery was broke but it run... So I have checked everything I have installed several roms and bought another battery but same problem... Then I have checked the USB and on the connection to the flat cable is a black thing to attemp the cable to the USB thing. So I closed the thing and it runs. Now battery loads fast again. Maybe the guy before me replaced the USB and missed to check the flatcable connection...
